VIPAFRICAN: To think they were even coming from the Church. God couldn't even avert the mishap waiting for his own daughter who came to worship him. Same thing happened in Ogun state right inside the Church where hundreds were killed. Is this how powerless and redundant God is? Whether you're in Church, Mosque or shrine, death will come at it's time. Don't bring God into a case of carelessness and callousness of a trigger happy police man. There have been many attacks in all forms of worship centres up North by terrorists. It hasn't stopped them from being committed to God. How do you know that God didn't save the others? He could have killed them all. To each his own in accordance with the guidance of the spirit. May her soul rest in peace. |

You started well but f up with how ur dad and you couldn't fix minor electrical faults at home. And in turn using that as a credit to your wife.
Just like my ex mentioning how her dad praised her mother for not allowing him to go use some money to buy car but instead tell or implore him to go use it to start building on their land.
Nonsense! Men that would wait on their wives before making meaningful decisions are not men abeg. Hmmm! I believe that he's only pointing out that he has a woman who adds value to his life. Not all women are dumbos piling pressure on a man for everything. |

ravensckar: I think there's something fundamentally wrong with Nigerian women! They don't seem to understand that it takes two to tango. Relationship isn't a two-way thing to them; it's only about themselves alone. Anyone who enters marriage with that flawed mentality is bound to fail at it.
Secondly, I think not knowing about the opposite se.x too is a recipe for marital disaster. A man should know a lot about the woman nature and a woman too should know a lot about men and their ways. For example, most Naija women think that se.x is the only thing that can keep a man loyal to them. Hence, they focus more on having a sexy body rather than working on themselves to become more likable.
Most Naija women can hardly hold a meaningful conversation with their partner, they can hardly contribute meaningfully to issues, most don't have the requisite skills to become their partner's 'buddy'. To them, relationship is about the man providing the money while they in turn provide the se.x. Tufia!
That right there is why I'll always love my wife; that lady is very wise and likable. She's not only a wife but a partner; she's my gist partner, personal adviser on work and family matters, she's my account officer, best friend and my ......... *ehm* *coughs*
There was a time she went to visit my dad and stumbled on him negotiating with an electrician to help fix a light issue. My wife just laughed and told my dad not to pay anyone a dime that she will do it. She requested for a plier and screw driver and within a short while she don fix the light. My papa fear! Up till this moment, it never ceases to amaze him. She's the reason why I developed my technical skills too, me wey no dey fit fix anything before self don turn senior man.
In conclusion, until Nigerian ladies do away with their crude mentality and become more dynamic. Marriages will continue to crash. Happy for you. You have a rare gem indeed. Take good care of her. Don't derail. God bless you both. Parents should teach their children basic home management skills irrespective of sex. I learnt maintenance skills from my dad. Men should learn house keeping skills from their mum. It makes for good partnership in marriage. |

After 12 years! Social media isn't the right place to go when there are marital challenges. It seems there's a lot of immaturity on the part of couples these days. Marriage (even ordinary relationships) survive due to the presence of real love, tolerance and a common purpose. Of course, the God factor can not be downplayed...the head of the tripod.
I really do wish that these two can sort out their problems and get back together especially if there's no major issue (like DV) involved. |

Even though I'm a born again Christian, any Christian that participates in the celebration of Xmas will end up in Hell. The bible commands we Christians to celebrate the death of our lord Jesus (Luke 22:19b; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26) and not his birth. Any Christian celebrating what is contrary to the bible commandment will end up in eternal pain. Do not celebrate Xmas to avoid regrettable consequences. Jesus was mentioned in the Holy Quran but you'll never find any of our Muslim brothers and sister celebrating his birth Where in the Bible is it stated that those who celebrate him will go to hell? The celebration is to honour God for sending Jesus to the earth by holy conception and to remember him for fulfilling prophecy. No Church will say December 25th is the actual date. It's just a date chosen to mark the event which happened at a point in time anyway. Know what? Paddle your canoe and leave others to deal with theirs. God is the ultimate judge. |

Home NIGERIA 2023: Oyo Governor Promises Fairness To Religious Faithful If Re-Elected By: Olubunmi Osoteku, Ibadan On Dec 22, 2022 0 332 Share The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has promised that his administration would continue to be fair to all religious faithful in the state, if re-elected. While speaking with the Oyo State League of Imams and State Rabith’s Acquaintance, at the Rabitot-ul-Aimmat Wal Ulama, Southwest Office, in Ibadan, the governor said he would also remain truthful to the people of the state, charging the electorate to cast their votes based on merit. Makinde noted that since assuming office, his administration had been handling issues relating to religion in the state objectively and had maintained the policy on the use of Hijab in public schools of Oyo State as instituted by the previous administration in the state because the policy had served the state well but would be reviewed if the need arises. He assured that the next government in the state would be better than what is currently obtained, agreeing that there were certain misconceptions about issues in the state, including appointments into the Pilgrim’s Welfare Board and appointment of education secretaries, that he needed to address so that people could be well informed. Makinde stated: “We appointed the education secretaries about two days ago and we have 10 Muslims out of 33 of them. The current Commissioner for Education is a Muslim and you know education is one of the major pillars of this administration. Let me repeat it again, if our elites want to cause division with religion, it won’t be possible. “As we speak, we have more Muslims holding top positions in this government and I am the only Christian in this echelon. What is important is to ensure that those we have appointed deliver dividends of democracy. We have been trying to balance appointments but must be careful with the way some critics are manipulating data for us,” the governor said. He disclosed that most of the issues pointed out by the Muslim leaders were challenges for his administration to look into and address, asserting that some of the achievements of his administration were things some said could not be achieved when the promises were made. Makinde referred to achievements like the sole ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, the upgrade of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education to University of Education and the establishment of the First Technical University, which is a specialised institution. Unbiased and Just Prof. Kamil Oloso and other representatives of the Imams commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his magnanimity towards the Muslim community in the state, as they charged him to be more diplomatic in handling religious issues. Imam Mufasir Okunmebo, in his sermon, charged Governor Makinde and other political leaders in the state to be unbiased and just in managing the affairs of the state. The programme featured special prayers for Governor Makinde and the state by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdul-Ganniy Agbotomokekere. The event was attended by the deputy governor, Adebayo Lawal; a former deputy governor of the state, Hon. Taofeek Arapaja; a former speaker of the State House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; commissioners and other political functionaries. So Sahih Bukhari which paints the Prophet as mentally sick who wanted to commit suicide and someone who brutally killed people is not blasphemy? Your hadith books blaspheme the Prophet. That was what the Cleric was pointing to. He will never insult the Prophet. Stop lying and deal with the problem in your Sunni hadith books like Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. This explanation makes it clearer. I pray that the judgment is reviewed. Sins against God are best left for his judgement. Human beings will rarely be fair in judgment of cases like this. More of sentiments and playing to the gallery. Wondering why he wasn't allowed to pick his own lawyer or speak for himself. I pray he survives this. |
