The day that we understand that power belongs to 'we the people ', Nigeria will change.

Madam Due Process is certainly well versed on the economy. She's indeed a contestant worth listening to. We need people like this to make a difference in our political space.

Yakubu is the Arabic word for Jacob i think. Just like Musa and Moses. Many in the North bear Arabic names irrespective of their faith.

You're right being a full grown adult but matters are not that simple in these climes. We learn more as we grow and get exposed more in life.

A vote for either Sowore , Oby, Hashim or Durotoye is an indirect Vote for Buhari !!!!

Let's be wise !!!!!
Oby doesn't sound like she's for Buhari in anyway. She's been criticising PMB and Atiku heavily.

Nice one.

OP,
Hope the Foil is not adding any dangerous chemical to the Plantain o?
It may. There's a limit to the level of aluminium intake our bodies can cope with. We take in enough from our pots. Just google up on aluminium and aluminium foil.
Food › Re: Ease Of Preparing Bole (Roasted Plantain) Using Gas Cooker by delpee(f): 9:26am On Nov 03, 2018
Please roast plainly in the oven. It's not healthy to roast/cook with aluminium foil. Same reason why you're advised to use leaves instead of aluminium foil for moinmoin.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.

Some people are just like wild animals really. I still don't understand how any man feels comfortable raping a nine year old or anyone for that matter. To think this went on for four years of a young girl's life. Heartless souls!

Culture › Re: Red Ibo In Jamaica: A Profile Of The Igbo People Of Jamaica by delpee(f): 4:09pm On Nov 02, 2018
So many uneccesary arguments derailed the thread!

Nigerians of various tribes were taken to Jamaica hence the use of Igbo and Yoruba words there. They're now Jamaicans anyway irrespective of their origins.

Shared words are common in our languages in Nigeria. It's not a big deal. Most tribes have their own names for things which may appear more predominant in other areas. For instance Ogbono is known as Apon in Yorubaland. Certainly it's not as widely eaten as it is in Igboland so many (especially in the urban areas) may not know. There are vegetables in the Yoruba hinterland which are hardly known in Lagos too.

I'm only asking because she seems to be spending lavishly, while 90 percent of Nigerians are living in extreme poverty, doesn't that bother you?[/color]
She spends a lot on charity projects and human capital development. One of her NGOs is Rose of Sharon Foundation which takes care of widows and orphans. I know she also empowers indigent young ladies by training them and starting them off in business.

She has given a lot of support in education. One example is a big hostel constructed in CMS Grammar School in her husband's name. The truth is that not everyone likes to advertise what they do to uplift society. Different strokes for different folks.

She was a trained secretary and a banker. She worked in the now defunct International Merchant Bank (IMB). Fashion design was her passion. She's from a wealthy background and a great philanthropist too.

One wonders why it's a problem when women are successful. People don't ask how men with oil blocks became successful. That's not to mention the many oil block allotees (male and female ) who didn't achieve any meaningful results. I admire her courage and strength of purpose. She's done well for herself and society.

We need to reduce the operating costs of the executive and the legislature. There'll be enough to pay the workers if we do that as well as stop hyper inflated contracts.

Gandollars babanriga microfinance bank wink has sufficient funds to pay a number of civil servants for months for instance. Many others are just lucky that they don't have their own videos yet.
Politics › Re: Atiku Knocks Plan To Sell Public Assets To Fund Budget by delpee(f): 8:28am On Nov 01, 2018
We should stop selling our assets to fund our extravagant lifestyle. A nation with high poverty rates yet maintains two levels of legislature with high consumption rates.

However the same Atiku was in charge of selling our national assets some years ago.

I wish I can get across to Akosua, or better still she is reading this. Getting out of your marimony is not an option, stay and fight back, and pray fervently. Nothing is above God's power. It will take at least some hours to destroy a farm that large.

A long way for agriculture to succeed in this country. undecided

Really? Tithe is a matter strictly between you and God. Pastors enlighten on the hows and whys but have no power over anyone in that regard.

People need to read their Bibles more and learn.
Crime › Re: Anambra Woman Arrested In Ogun After Husband Escaped In Israel. Photos by delpee(f): 8:44pm On Oct 30, 2018
lekz2020:
its unfortunate that most people in Nigeria don't investigate matters before jumping into judgement, I need to clarify that the woman was not just arrested unlawfully, the wife actually signed an NCPC form on behalf of her husband. On 11th day of October 2018, Mr Mark Okeke was found missing after taking his breakfast, a call was place to the Wife Mrs Chiamaka Okeke to inform her that her husband had absconded but she cut the call and didn't get back until the group arrived from Israel only for the woman to surface at the office to inform them to forget about her husband that he cannot return even though $15,000 is involve and she was saying they only wanted to pay the money, an option was given to her that she should call her husband to return to Nigeria and will not be required to pay the money but the wife insisted that her husband cannot come home that she will pay the money. Now its either she pay the money or tell her husband to comeback to Nigeria.
A different perspective. If this is true then she created problems for herself.

Crime › Re: Abba Kyari Reacts To Evans' Torture Claim by delpee(f): 12:02am On Oct 29, 2018
I certainly don't support Evans having read reports of the ordeals of his victims. However we need to know if people are truly being silently killed in SARS custody as he stated with details published in a newspaper. If that is true, it's a dangerous trend for our society. That means people may be running from cultists only to end up getting killed by our "friends".

Even suspected criminals are innocent until proven guilty. The rule of law should be upheld and the law should always take it's course for a better society.

FHA festac is no longer functioning, they're busy selling lands at 6th avenue. FESTAC is now semi ghetto, look at the block of flats, no maintenance, nothing is working, agbero boys are now in festac smoking India hemp everywhere,at night they turn to thieves robbing people. FESTAC glory has gone, FESTAC is the same with Okokomaiko.
Wow! This is most unfortunate. I still have the FESTAC of old ingrained in my head. I didn't know it's this bad. It looks like it's beyond the capacity of the LG Chairman though.

How many people succeed with IVF especially after 35 years? Her story indicates that she tried IVF for many years and gave up at a time. Besides this is post menopause. Whichever way we look at it God takes the glory.
