If only ignorant and unexposed parents understand that tribal marks were done mainly to identify one's origin in the days of the Yoruba wars. You could distinguish between an Oyo man and an Egba or Ogbomoso man for instance. It should have gone extinct after the wars but for some, it became family tradition or a way to beautify themselves (by their own understanding). They also had tatoos which has become a desirable thing in today's world. People with disabilities sometimes get humiliated too but the strong ones cope beautifully well. Its always good to be positive in any situation that we find ourselves. God takes care of everyone. She should have gone ahead to study more anyway. The courage she has now will see her through if she still intends to study law. By the way, isn't it possible to remove the marks by plastic surgery? Maybe doctors in the house can advise for others to learn. |
vicdaram:Exactly! |
SarkinYarki:That means the US doesn't want him to visit. They have their doubts. |
This is one person I'd like to vote for. Consistent, committed, intelligent and focused. Great values and a good educational background. |
Horus:NAPTIP should do something about this. |
Grandpas planning for the future while the youth cheer on.... |
Awww! Women are missing out this time. ![]() I've always loved the male/female combo. |
Suppose the Beroms are not responsible for his disappearance? Or is there valid evidence? Anything could have happened. I pray that they find the General or get to know exactly what happened to him. It's a sad case really. May God grant his family strength and courage . I hope that innocent people in the area will not be tortured to confess what they have no knowledge of. I pray that the indigenes will not be made to suffer unduly. |
In the olden days in Yorubaland, coins were sprayed. They're durable so the impact was not felt. Fast forward to the paper money era; it now looks ridiculous pasting money on sweaty faces and trampling on currency notes on the dancing floor. I know its a lot of fun but its getting out of hand. Counting the money at the end of the day is fun too. Still this is one culture that we really need to stop. |
This has been denied. We'll keep praying for her freedom. Also other captives. |
Looks like people are now more politically conscious. Tinubu won't go against the heartfelt wishes of the people anymore. This should keep politicians on their toes. Better days ahead and more dividends of democracy hopefully. |
He's been persistent over the years under PDP. He almost won at a time. His move to APC has made it easy for him this time. The best way forward for young politicians is to get involved in community service and to really work hard during elections. People at the grassroots value those who relate with them on a regular/ consistent basis. One person who comes to mind in this regard is Engr (Hon.) Gbolahan Yishawu, the House of Assembly rep..so well loved because of his health, education and other programs for his people. |
This has been denied by Ambodes campaign team. |
If Ambode performed well and endeared himself to Lagosians, they would have stood by him no matter what as was done for Fashola. He simply didn't meet up with the basic standards of governance in Lagos. Humility cum Omoluabi values and projects that impact directly on the lives of the people are important. |
God's will shall be done. We need peace and progress in Lagos. |
kettykin:He was invited to give the Independence Day Church service sermon according to some reports. |
Ambode only needs to articulate his plans for the second term. What he plans to do about the craters on our roads, the dirty environment, health, education and housing. "Commissioning" of laybys, pedestrian bridges, flyovers and reconstructed bustops is not enough. Vicious verbal attacks against his opponent won't answer those questions. In truth, he should have kept to the implementation of the masterplan. Lagos improved greatly because Fashola did so. Eko ti nbaje.! ![]() |
So Ambode employed "a criminal and psychiatric patient" to work as the head of LSPDC an important agency of government. May the best man win for our sakes. |
Did he have to publicise this? Not a good friend at all. |
Gaddafithe2nd:Island roads are also bad. Even roads within Ikoyi and VI apart from the major roads are terrible. Not to mention Lekki inner roads. Ikorodu roads are terrible too. |
He forgot something in Agodi house i guess. Perpetually contesting. ![]() |
He has a right to contest and the people have the right to accept or reject him based on his performance. This really is not about Tinubu. Dirty environment and pothole ridden roads speak volumes. The uncontrolled tanker invasion is another matter. Epe may now be "little London" but Lagos has deteriorated badly in recent years. Ikorodu and the Badagry axis are even worse. It just looks like the gains of the Tinubu/Fashola era have gradually faded off. Abandoned projects are everywhere yet we voted for continuity. May the best man win. |
Not every woman will marry and being unmarried doesn't neccessarily make a lady irresponsible. Some single ladies are more respectable than some married women. It all boils down to the personality of the individual. |
The celebration appears to be limited to Government House. What happened to the "teeming" supporters? Osun people are not smiling. |
It's on Channels news. |
Angel...the beautiful, enterprising and diligent lady. Great organic farmer too. God bless your marriage more. |
gentlegenius:Deep trouble! ![]() |
The addition of votes of SDP and PDP exceeds that of APC by a wide margin. It's clear that the people are voting for change at all cost. Their choice should be respected. |
I feel sad for Osun. No reasonable campaign promises from the candidates. The debate was uninspiring too. They've found themselves caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. They just have to make a choice. Adeleke still has the certificate issue anyway. |
skedman:Secondary school with unpaid teachers producing half baked students. Osun was 29th on the WAEC list! |
Sad! May his soul rest in perfect peace. |
If you have a sworn affidavit to reflect a change in your date of birth. If you have paid touts to collect your driver's license. |
