On agberos...Lagos has no business with poverty.

Oba of Lagos is entitled to his opinion.

Lagos blossomed under the youth. LSDPC, IBILE holdings were set up by a young man.

Bill Gates, Mark etc made impact on the world as young men.

He's 51 and only wants to be a bridge between the old and the young.

Yoruba proverb
Truth will catch up with the lies of 20 years.

Listen to the youth. They want to lead. His uncle late Rasheed Gbadamosi was a commissioner in Lagos at 28 years decades ago.

Including Oko Baba

He says that he will also regenerate the area.

He won't take their sawmills or drive them away, rather he will build whatehouses for them at a cost that they can afford
He'll sit with them (sawmill and makoko) to fashion out an inclusive plan to ensure that they continue to do their businesses there in a more conducive way. He referred to the regeneration of a fishing village in the UK. He plans to provide basic amenities like schools and hospitals there.

The image grabbed is an innocent woman from kenya. I won't put her name here so it does not become associated with this sordid story but do a reverse image search with the picture. Or simple google search "PassionProfit School of Entrepreneurship +Kenya +Dangote"
You're absolutely right.

Nairaland mods should beware of fake news. This lady whose picture is posted and blurred is a Kenyan managing her own business.

Bloggers and gutter journalism! SMH

I think people should learn to sue for defamation of character.

Don't mind him....if the wife is not jealous or if she is comfortable with the pic. That simply means that the lady doesn't love the dude.
It's not necessarily so. Sometimes you choose to close your eyes and mind to things that upset you to safeguard your internal peace. Fighting uneccesary battles can only drain you, make you lose your focus and destroy your self confidence.

Always remember that things will happen. Your attitude/response is far more important than what happens. Anyone in perfect control of his/her emotions is spiritually well balanced and will never be suicidal.

It's always wise to be focused on the more important aspects of life such as working towards fulfilling your divine purpose. Occurences such as this are just distractions that could derail you.

Wise woman!

What's wrong with airing her opinion as a Lagos resident? Even outsiders who are familiar with the Lagos setting can critically assess the situation and comment. It's debate time. All opinions are welcome.

Tribalism is getting out of hand on this forum sadly.
Family › Re: Is There Anything Wrong With A Wife Buying A Property In Her Name? by delpee(f): 11:46pm On Jan 19, 2019
There's nothing wrong with that. Every human being has a right to invest in properties just like stocks and others.

In a good relationship, her husband will know about it and even assist her in every way.
Usually, when there's no trust, if a man has other wives or mistresses and if a man spends recklessly, a woman may become secretive about such ventures to safeguard her interest.
Politics › Re: Buhari And Atiku Absent At NEDG/BON Presidential Debate by delpee(f): 10:22pm On Jan 19, 2019
Nigerian youth have a great opportunity to determine who leads them into the future. Choose wisely. It doesn't have to be either of the two most popular ones.
Family › Re: Wife Fights Her Husband After She Was Told To Pack Out. Photos by delpee(f): 9:35am On Jan 19, 2019
This is so shameful! Reconciliation will be extremely difficult since the mother is involved.

In Yorubaland, a mother should not help her daughter pack her things out of her matrimonial home. The day you marry, you're reminded about all you've been taught about patience, tolerance, humility, respect, perseverance, generosity and above all Godliness. You're told that they don't expect you back home to stay. That's known as "dalemosu"- (hope I got it right.)

However, it's wise to hear from the other side. An unbearable or violent situation can change all parameters and principles in a flash.

Also cheap solar rechargeable fans are now available. Charge with the sun during the day and use at night.

They should avoid uneccesary publicity by the way. More like giving information to the enemy.

"Invented" is a wrong word to use in this scenario.

However Alabukun is widely used and considered good up to date.

Chief Mrs Folake Solanke, the first lady SAN is late Papa Odulates daughter. It's a credit to the family that they have continued to produce and market the drug long after the death of their father.

ikhileomotayo:
All is vanity. I wonder what people need such stupendous wealth for.
More astonishing is the fact that poverty pervades our society.

My people say, Olowo kan laarin otosi mefa, otosi ni.
A rich man in the midst of poor people is still a poor man. The point is that wealth that isn't used to impact society positively is worthless.

If any school withdraw from the strike, that school won't get a share from the money the FG will allocate to ASUU.
That's untrue judging by the fact that Unilorin which never goes on strike shares in the allocations agreed upon.

Family › Re: Is My Mom To Blame For The Irresponsibility Of A 26 Year Old lady? by delpee(f): 8:26pm On Jan 08, 2019
Next time, your mum should render help from a distance. Sometimes it's wiser to allow parents take full responsibility for their children's upbringing while you provide financial support.

I had a similar experience and I know others too. I was just lucky that my ward's sister and her husband appreciated my efforts and doused all the tension.

Life has changed. There are many irresponsible parents hoping others will rehabilitate their wayward children for them. Beware.
