I don't think this is true. One appreciates what Ambo is doing in Lagos but he doesnt have to denigrate BRF who also did his best at a time that Lagos was in opposition. If Ambode truly loves Lagos, he should cooperate with the Minister of Works to achieve greater heights. Its surprising and embarrassing that he didnt call BRF for almost two years yet he had pending issues to resolve with him. The Airport road Ambo was trying to make a big issue of was a project BRF spoke about but could do nothing because the PDP government then refused to cooperate. Maturity is really important at that level of governance. Pettiness is most undesirable. They need to deflate their egos, bury their differences and work together for a better Lagos. |
In summary, this is a matter between adults who consented to whatever happened between them (if true). Why can't they settle their issues in court or privately instead of inundating us with stories persistently as if it's a problem for the media to solve? This pull him/her down syndrome without concrete evidence from all parties is absolute nonsense. Time to move on to better things.. .. |
I'm getting tired of these Apostle Suleiman posts! If his wife isn't complaining, what's our business really? The ladies are not saying they were raped, it's all consensual if the events truly happened. They're full grown adults and all answerable to God for their deeds. Why bother us consistently with personal affairs? Let's move on to better topics that can impact positively on our lives or simply make us smile away Naija troubles. This one adds no value abeg. BTW the courts are there for those who want to pronounce him guilty at all costs. Stephanie can go ahead to prove her case beyond reasonable doubt with her videos etc. Media war will not solve the problem. |
solidman59:Marriage is no bed of roses, that's why it's 'for better or worse' (excluding domestic violence though). There's no perfect man anywhere. Matured people find a way to resolve their problems. If this is the only issue at hand, it's not enough reason to divorce. @OP Pray for your sister and her husband. Encourage her to find a way to resolve the issue. Any man or woman who gets angry enough to make divorce the first option for any wrongdoing will find it difficult to stay married to anyone. Remember how Hillary handled the scandal involving her husband not to mention many cases around us here. |
If indeed the Apostle assisted the lady but had no intimate relationship with her, then it's a case of 'asore daran' (Yoruba) which means one who gets into trouble after helping others. It seems only God and the two people involved know the absolute truth. |
Hmm! More drama. May God reveal the truth. |
More like photoshop to me. Let's see the conversation. Afterall that can be verified through the phone network. I remember a story that I was told about a Pastor who was to be set up for disgrace. A lady was given his hotel room number and asked to knock on his door. As he made to open the door she opened her wrap around outfit to reveal her stark naked body. Oh la la! Unfortunately for the Delilah, Pastors wife was right behind him ( his policy is to travel with his wife always) so the plan fell through. Pictures would have been snapped if he was alone and the Pastors reputation ruined for life. Clerics need to be very careful. Never have a relationship with any lady without your wife's knowledge. It's always easy to get messed up that way. |
hoodmenconcept:Good idea but I see that they prefer to abandon her in an old people's home. Why cant they recover the apartment MFM got for her, tell their lazy brother to get out and pay the rent henceforth for her?. There are carers who manage the elderly in their own homes. 5 of them should be able to contribute to pay for such services since they dont want her near their wives. Hope they understand the law of karma perfectly well. It's good to be blessed with daughters really. They often care more for their parents in old age. |
iPopAlomo:Interesting! Enlightened family no doubt. I can imagine that there's so much peace and love in the family. It's virtually impossible to have extremists in a setting like this. Kudos...starting from your grandfather. @OP There's no reason why you should be forced to convert. A cousin (Christian) was asked to convert to Islam to marry his wife. After dragging the matter up and down for almost a year and his mother in law cursing/ threatening our whole family, they still ended up at the Registry. No Nikkah. Till date, the in-laws are still angry but their daughter is unwavering. We were told that Islam doesn't permit their ladies to marry Christians even though my cousin allows her to practice her religion. Unfortunately, your fiancée agrees with her family so there's a problem. If you don't have an agenda to convert her, then you should let her know that you're willing to allow her to practice her religion. Sometimes the fear is that you may put pressure on her to change against her wish later when Islamic clerics tell you that there must be Nikkah to comply with Islamic tenets. Nikkah requires her conversion or that you take another wife who will be a Muslim. (That's what I was told in a particular case.) However, Remi Tinubu, Bimbo Fashola, Florence Ajimobi are Christian wives to Muslims and are not complaining. She should allow you to practice your religion or you reach a compromise if she truly loves you. |
Wiseandtrue:Teaching could be her passion and probably makes her happy. Money isn't the answer in every situation. |
gsmphoneseller:Sule Lamido and sons (Jigawa), Shema(Katsina), Bala Muhammed and son ( FCT minister), Rasheed Ladoja ( Oyo) and Saraki (Kwara) are also under trial. Let's face issues as they are. Corruption is not a tribal or religious matter. Criminals are friendly across board, irrespective of tribe and religion. We should team up to battle them without considering primordial issues. |
Anyone who wants to understand the origin of Old Lagos should read the history of the Aworis who are descendants of Oduduwa. During the time of the British, there was Lagos Colony comprising the Island, Ikoyi, VI and Yaba. Ikeja, Mushin, Ilupeju etc upwards were all part of the Western Region. Thus all the Industrial Estates, GRAs etc were planned/owned by the old Western Region. #BringBackHistoryToOurSchools |
Karlman:A lot is being done by the Churches but little or zero publicity takes place. It's a continuous exercise especially in the old Churches and some of the well grounded Pentecostal Churches. I've been involved in some cases so I know. Even our Acting VP and wife are great silent philanthropists in their Church and private lives. As Yorubas say omi po ju oka lo or water pass gari in pidgin. Best wishes and total healing for the baby by God's grace. God bless Big Church for their kindness. |
bizme:Really? Yet those that you think "cannot compete favourably" are passing professional/ certification exams (including foreign ones) in record time. |
Feeling so sad. Mary needs to be rehabilitated urgently. Her love for the prison environment shows that she's been terribly oppressed and unloved all these years. I pray that she's linked to an NGO soon. Maybe she should be linked up with Rose of Sharon foundation. |
Please can someone explain why he's not being tried according to Sharia law? My thought is that conviction may be more difficult under the Sharia law. |
I can't help laughing as I remember some scenes in the film. ![]() |
Prayers are said for him every Sunday in churches. Its not Christlike not to wish him well. Praying for our leaders irrespective of tribe and religion is routine in most churches anyway. |
OgaJonah:Kalakuta Republic used to be by the turning towards Idi Oro/ Mushin coming from Ojuelegba or on the right hand side after the railway crossing if you're linking Western Avenue from Jibowu. It's now occupied by some Lagos State schools. He moved to Pebble St Ikeja from there. No one like Fela! |

hopyroll:Sadly Muslims now have different doctrines too. That's why you have Shiites, Sunnis, etc. There are now different modes of worship and lifestyles each claiming to be the right one. Even ISIS, Boko Haram, AL Shabab, AL Qaeda etc consider themselves to be better Muslims. God sees through our hearts and knows those who truly worship Him rightly. |
@Op Wise words. Always be in touch with your parents, family, siblings etc Don't think your parents are being too fussy or just monitoring your movements or as some will say "treating me like a child". Time and circumstances have changed drastically lately. For your safety, it's important that at least one person knows your whereabouts at any point in time. |
May God bless and protect her and all the fighters. Hopefully Boko Haram will soon be history and they'll be able to live in peace. Amen! |
No reasonable parent follows a child to school to fight his/her teacher. That's sowing bad seeds into the child's life. There are better ways of airing grievances. There's a Principal there and the Federal Ministry of Education. Why look for a short cut? Times have changed indeed! My days in school....that student will surely get expelled. Powerful Principals and strict parents then. |
Interesting write up! Is there still any recognisable distinction between the Hausas and Fulani's today? Is there any Northern town being ruled by Hausas? Kanuris rule Maiduguri for instance. |
Bless you gallant soldiers! |
PDJT:Lies! He is a philanthropist. According to his church members, he and his wife gave scholarships to many indigent students long before he became VP. |
stinechykee:b So much bile! This deep hatred is unnecessary. 'Conversions' everywhere now. Only God sees through the heart. By the way, remember that Mama Boko Haram is Igbo. Google it. Shes clearly not interested in being rescued. Its wise to treat each case on its own merit while we look at the causes and effects broadly. The problem is so pervasive. It's no longer about tribes but humanity in general. The battle against oppression and forced marriage/ abduction of minors should be fought by all irrespective of tribe or religion. |
Okeikpu:Those who stopped the teaching of History in schools did a great disservice! The first settlers are Yorubas. The Portuguese and Binis came later. Read about Ogunfunminire of Isheri to understand better. |
