A tape showing that money was received will not tell a complete story. It is said that visitors to the villa may be given cash to defray their expenses. Anyway the NADECO battle didn't stop after that. So the money ( if any) had no effect. The long drawn battle culminated in the election which had Obasanjo and Falae as candidates which OBJ won. A touch of History.. Abiola was living under a curse which came to pass. When he was rude to Pa Awolowo because of an opposition party, he was told that even though he may see the throne, he will not get there. Sadly so it happened after a variety of events which had nothing to do with Awo. |
It's good to know that we still love ourselves. Nigerians are truly kind hearted. God bless us all. I hope the Police Officers Wives Association or reliable NGOs will guide her on financial planning and investment so she won't fall victim to scammers. The surviving police officer (requires surgery) and the family of the other one that died also need help. I hope we can do the same for them. |
She was probably drugged. This is so sad. Young ladies should learn from this. There's no free lunch anywhere. Nothing good comes easy. |
By the way Zenith Bank should assist the family. Corporate Social Responsibility at least. |
I still think all states should do what Lagos State is doing for security personnel. Insure their lives so that their families are not left stranded if they die in action. Those who know how to go about crowd funding should do so to help this family. I'll gladly donate if it's proven to be genuine. May God comfort and uphold the family as he rests in peace. |
Awww! Sad to find out that he died. Other states should emulate Lagos. The security officers are insured such that their families get substantial sums if they die in action like this great Sergeant. One hopes his family isn't suffering. May God rest his soul in perfect peace. |
Rondish ke? Na wa! A combo of Ijaw, Itshekiri, Urhobo, Kwale, Efik, Ibibio, Bini, Ogoni languages abi? Maybe unified pidgin. We have truly entered the season of plenty wahala for Naija. |
timsTNA:Sadly the illiterates are in the majority. Let's pray for a peaceful and amicable solution. |
Maryam Babangida She touched the lives of women (especially rural women) in wonderful ways. I remember the Better Life markets she created where you could get fresh produce straight from the farms at cheaper rates. The women didn't have to pay exorbitant rates to trade there. The markets had many women coming from rural areas to trade mostly on Sundays. She supported women entrepreneurs in different fields. She also supported the creation of People's Bank for the poor (especially women) to provide easier access to credit. |
Both of them need deliverance. |
Okay o. Suppose she ends up with HIV or some other nasty infection? Who gets a greater punishment? The child grows up to be a sickler or has some other genetic disease that's alien to the family, won't it become obvious even without DNA test? That's how a case I'm familiar with was discovered. Of course things fell apart. Young ladies should focus more on ensuring that they do the best for their children for peace and joy in old age instead of fighting endless battles with their husbands. Learn from strong single mums/widows who have singlehandedly brought up outstanding kids. The reality of life in Africa is that a mother who sacrifices so much to make the children succeed earns their respect and reaps far more blessings from God. Stories of 'your father cheated on me' doesn't help a child. Stand strong, build yourself mightily, don't be absolutely dependent on a man. If you can faithfully hand over to God and avoid taking revenge when he fails you, he'll get his due reward and you'll receive your blessings in full. It's hard but I've seen it work for some people. |
Many who are ranting here have never seen war nor understand it's full ramifications. So much storm in a teacup. |
You have to work very hard in UI. The lecturers are disciplined and they expect you to truly learn. There's no room for sorting to the best of my knowledge. What you put in is what you get. Truancy is not allowed. You'll certainly be at an advantage if you intend to do a Ph.D. after. Make enquiries about the particular department though. |
Sadly when the security agencies seem to have no solution to people's problems, they become desperate. All these days, badoo gang have been killing in a horrifying way yet the police have no solution. The people have been pushed to the wall and are reacting in a terrible way. Jungle justice is not the way to go though. |
ItsMeAboki:That's no reason to declare him innocent. The phone line may have been reallocated. He may have used another person's phone during that period etc The police should simply do their work of investigating and trying suspects. Besides, why was her body embalmed before informing the parents when he had access to her mum? To destroy evidence? |
This is terrible if true. If so police is your fiend indeed! Lesson is that young people should always remember that nothing good comes easy. I pray that they get justice. May her soul RIP. |
omusiliyu:Tai Solarin the owner of Mayflower School Ikenne took care of some Igbos too. I wonder how people got history mixed up. It seems many Igbo adults chose not to tell the truth hence the deep hatred they have inculcated in their youth against other tribes. Those who saw to the removal of history from our school syllabus are criminals indeed. Half truth and total misinformation everywhere now. ![]() |
I empathise with you Yemi. I know a few people with similar problems. Your child needs speciaIcare. I think you should join the Autism club. You'll get more information, support and assistance that way. A friend is a member of the club. Her son receives wonderful care and support and is able to talk slowly now. He's improved greatly and is doing well in a special school. He's now a teenager though. I pray that your child improves tremendously soon. God makes all things possible. |
RapportNaija:Also Sule Lamido and sons |
Thanks for the valuable information. |
The height of wickedness. The Muslims have the right to pray. |
Beautiful girls! More power to their elbows. |
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. He's really thinking like a wheelbarrow pusher. Can't Ortom establish a large mechanized, irrigated farm or any productive small scale cottage industry for the youth with 100m? Make them partner with government, give them technical support and guide them to excel. He should visit Akwa Ibom. Even Osun has been assisting young farmers. He should consider starting a cattle ranch even if on a small scale to reduce the menace of Fulani herdsmen in his state. It will provide a lot of jobs for his people. Beef, leather and milk production are possible industries to be derived from this. This guy needs to think deep or get sensible advisers. Benue seems jinxed. ![]() |
Many more happy years to the lovely couple. |

TheCabal:Simply put, most people are too lazy to read before commenting. There's enough evidence of that on Nairaland. I feel very sad that this human angle story which requires urgent attention is being treated with so much levity by educated minds who should know better. We all see how far Lagos State has gone in making society safer for women and children. It behoves on other states to do even better given their lower and mostly homogeneous population. There's little room for cultural differences which may be used as an excuse to perpetrate evil. I'm sincerely touched by the pains of the helpless oppressed ladies who are suffering from poverty and the lack of political will of the state government to tackle what is clearly a criminal case. Child trafficking is EVIL whichever way we look at it. There must be clear consent for legal adoption to take place. |
Chascop:As the whites say, if you don't want a black man to see something, hide it in a book! It's good to read and understand before commenting. |
This is so sad! No hiding place for the poor. |
There's no need to argue. History is there for those who choose to read. A lie told a million times will never translate to the truth. Lagosians and Yorubas know their history from ancient times. |
Serendip:We had that before the 1966 coup according to history. May God open our eyes to see that we're all simply human beings in His presence. |
Hopefully they'll listen now that we know the Commissioner isn't interested in taking bribes. Those courses are heavy sha though they deserve it. Kudos to our CP. |
