Well done guys! God bless and prosper you more. How can we donate to the fund? |
zimoni:Yes and one at Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos. Hardworking and greatly talented woman! |
The good old days! I don't laff tire ![]() |
If only we choose to disappoint our detractors...maybe we'll arise and shine. So much stress fighting each other instead of working together for progress. ![]() |
He's done so well. His humble background obviously had a positive impact on his life. God bless him more. |
Anyone close to this guy should give him some pep talk on how to invest wisely. He's only acquiring liabilities if this is true. He should get in touch with a reputable investment firm asap if he doesn't know what to do. |
May God bless him more. Looks like he was hardworking and focused. May God raise and guide many more young Nigerians along this worthy path. |
This is embarrassing! NAPTIP, please help!! |
NAPTIP should help these women come back home. Some are helpless trafficked persons. It's sad seeing ladies give up their dignity so disgracefully. Lord save their troubled souls. |
Praise God! May we rejoice with the Chibok families too soon. Amen |
Hmmm! Yet I had South African schoolmates on FG scholarship. We even marked Soweto day and I remember one of my juniors who showed us a bullet scar and told us stories of apartheid. They were always camped at FGN expense during the holidays in our Fed Govt Colleges and universities. We were glad to be of help and stood together as a nation to fight apartheid. Mandela appreciated it anyway. The ingrates and ignorant ones can choose to rewrite history. They will reap as they sow in due season. Nigeria has done so much for African countries. Sadly we're envied rather than being appreciated. May God guide us to look inwards and make our country great again. Amen |
Contact Bank of Industry and SMEDAN if they still exist. I admire your courage. God crown your efforts with resounding success. Amen |
I pray this is true. It was breaking news on CNN a short while ago. |
Please is this from the External Auditors report? |
Thanks for the enlightenment Wulfruna and Macof. We learn more about our roots everyday. |
Pity she's not alive to tell her story. Somehow I feel this isn't the whole truth. |
@scholesO Thanks! Rest of the interesting story please. ![]() Been reading some Yoruba history lately. ..including how Lamurudu may have been Nimrod of the Bible! We are all interwoven in a way. |
bigfrancis21:Thanks! |
Who knows about the roots and language of the Olukumis of Delta? Or better still is there someone from their place on NL who can throw some light into their origjn.? |
Where do we fit in the Olukumi people of Delta state who are said to be originally Yoruba's? I read through their history which indicates that their language is more like ancient Yoruba language. Olukumi literalily meaning my friend is also known as the Lukumi tribe in American/ the Carribeans slave history. |
South African blacks who were loved and well cared for by Nigerians in the 70s and 80s have now turned against us. They were given scholarships to attend our Fed Govt Colleges and Federal Universities. British investments in Nigeria were taken over by our govt then (OBJ) to force UK to denounce apartheid. Shell BP was a major casualty. We were also recognised as one of the front line states to acknowledge our fervent support. Most of our musicians sang to project the evil of apartheid to the world. Once freedom was achieved we welcomed them and gave them space to grow; DSTV, Shoprite etc What do we get in return? Our money seized and our govt humiliated cos we were trying to purchase arms to fight terrorists... At least that's what we're told. Our citizens being harassed and subjected to mental torture, massive losses because they strove to excel in a foreign land.( not speaking for the criminals among them though). They are sowing the wind. I hope they won't reap the whirlwind. It shall be well with Nigeria and Nigerians no matter what! |
These people are so vicious! Just google Fulani herdsmen Igbo, Yoruba etc and it becomes evident that urgent action is required before the situation gets out of hand. Can't we have ranches instead of this wakawaka grazing method? This is 2014 not the 18th century. |
I appreciate his efforts on the environment, security, health and transportation. However education is of great importance to sustain progress in other sectors. |
omooba969:In case you have access to Gov. Ajimobi pls let him know those of us who grew up in Ibadan and had our primary/secondary education there are highly disappointed that the schools standards have gone down so horribly. I feel miserable stepping into the likes of Queens School, Loyola College, St Annes etc not to talk of the other public schools. He's not willing to improve on the facilities and he's not encouraging inputs from old students and the missionaries to uplift the schools. Tinubu/ Fashola did that in Lagos and Igbobi College, Ansarudeen Schools, St Gregory's, Baptist Academy etc are the better for it. You need to leverage on the good names, achievements and discipline of those schools in the past to create models and have comparative standards for public schools. Most of the public schools are now like advanced village schools. One of the reasons many teachers wanted Sen. Ladoja. I'm not resident in Ibadan by the way but a regular visitor. |
She will become the first ELECTED female governor. Virgy Etiaba became governor by default though still recognised as the first to occupy that seat. I pray she wins. |
Are you sure that the super glue will not slowly seep into your food? Is it not hazardous to health? I believe there are people who mend pots by patching with metal or aluminium. I heard about it when someone enquired in respect of 'koko irin' -those big iron pots used for commercial cooking. Pot sellers should know. |
So funny what one gets to read from ignorant/misinformed people. No time to run a History 101 class here but people should note that the Western Region extended to most parts of Lagos Mainland and developments were possible because of money made from cocoa and trading with Europeans. Most of the houses on the Island were built by indigenous Lagosians and returnee Yoruba slaves. Ikeja, Mushin,Oshodi and Ilupeju industrial estates belonged to the former Western region hence a lot of Wemabod (Odua Investment) interest in those areas. The GRAs and residential estates were all planned by them. Agege, Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry also fell under the control of Western Region until Lagos State was created in 1967. Festac (arising from Festac77),MMIA, National Theatre/Stadium and Trade Fair complex are the major investments on the mainland built by the Federal govt. |
I called a retired teacher who confirmed that she's been paid up to December. The 18 month issue may be a unique case. I have no preference in terms of voting cos I don't reside in Oyo state. However I notice that Ajimobi has done well especially on health, the environment, roads, attracting investment and good security unlike the Akala days. Ladoja did better with education, teachers and the civil service but payment of civil servants is not the ONLY important aspect of governance. |
All these extreme tribalism and bitterness isn't good for our society. What we pray for is good governance from God appointed leaders even as we make our human efforts by voting our choice. No single human being can determine who should rule especially in a democratic society. However we need to bother less about those who insist on dividing us. Let's remain focused by voting our choice. Nigeria will be great again. Eko o ni baje whichever way. |
Wondering why nobody tried to speak to her especially if she truly bought knives. She probably would have been better off with some help. No one is perfect. An unexpected and traumatic situation can trigger off temporary insanity in anyone. Prompt attention is key to solving the problem. I marvel at this new culture of taking pictures to post online before thinking of the persons predicament. I consider it inhuman. However it may be an actress at work. If not it's saddening. |
