A humble, diligent, intelligent and compassionate lady indeed. Been praying since I suspected she'll be the Consultant in charge.

Really? She was my senior (o'level) at Queens Sch, Ibadan. And my doctor for some years!

Sadly another online news report says she's in critical condition. I hope not.

Thank God! To God be the glory! smiley smiley
Ameyo is a wonderful person and deserves to live. A brilliant, humble and compassionate lady indeed.
There shall be no more news of death from the isolation centre in Jesus name. Amen.
Christianity Etc › Re: Please Pray For Dr Ameyo Adadevoh And Other Ebola Victims by delpee(op): 9:18pm On Aug 16, 2014
Praise God! Heard she has recovered but we continue to pray for others. There shall be no more deaths by Gods grace.
Christianity Etc › Please Pray For Dr Ameyo Adadevoh And Other Ebola Victims by delpee(op): 9:15pm On Aug 16, 2014
Dr Ameyo Adadevoh is the Snr. Consultant Physician at First Consultants. She and her colleagues treated Mr Sawyer and enforced his restriction to the hospital despite being under pressure to release him. This may have saved many lives of others who may have come into contact with him if he left the hospital.
We lost two nurses already. Let's pray that we get Zmapp to treat the others. Hopefully they will survive by Gods grace.
BTW I used her name cos she's the one I know. I pray for all of them and the total defeat of the virus in Nigeria and the world. May God grant us wisdom as we seek knowledge on the herbs etc that can be used to produce drugs and vaccines to cure this horrible disease. Amen.

My left handed relatives are very intelligent. The one who was forced to change is the only dull one. It runs in the family and there's nothing wrong with it. Read a lot about it to understand better. Meanwhile, leave her alone!

Politics › Re: Govt Job With Average Salary VERSUS Private Organization Job With Fat Salary. by delpee(f): 9:10pm On Aug 06, 2014
It depends on the govt. institution. Some are so full of ancient ways of doing things and excessive bureaucracy which may be difficult to adjust to after years in the private sector. There are some modern govt parastatals though. Find out about the work processes and conditions of service as a basis of comparison.
BTW the new pension law covers both public and private sectors.

What's wrong with being a teacher? As he progresses he will earn more especially if he upgrades himself by reading more- Masters/PhD. Also he can take students on private tuition to earn more. Some good teachers earn more than 1000 per lesson depending on the location and his performance which can be deduced from the students results over time. It may be far less in other areas/states though.
Only low level private schools pay poorly these days. For a public school teacher, part time post graduate studies is easier and there is job security. Comparatively, Lagos State teachers for instance are well paid.
I won't advise you to dump a man that you love just because of his profession. There is more to life than money! With your support he can excel in future.

Nice one! May God bless all those involved and may He guide them to the right candidates.
Will always gladly contribute to making life easier for the less privileged. It brings joy to the soul. Its disheartening when one comes across a diligent and focussed student who can't afford to pay school fees due to circumstances beyond his/her control.

Politics › Re: Escape From Boko Haram: We Went Through Hell To Survive – Chibok School Girls by delpee(f): 9:59pm On Aug 03, 2014
Some of the escaped girls and parents were invited to Lagos recently. Those that escaped later have more horrible stories to tell. I admire their courage and pray that the others are released. Churches are working out arrangements to get them back to school outside Chibok. I pray that we never experience this terrible incident again.Anyone who is a parent will be deeply touched.
As for the "its a scam" group, ........ Let me not curse jare.
Family › Re: Elderly People's Curse And Blessing: Superstion Or Fact? by delpee(f): 10:09pm On Aug 02, 2014
Don't curse and avoid being cursed. There is power in the word and things usually take effect in the spiritual realm before they manifest physically. (For those who understand!)
Family › Re: I Have Cut Ties With My Dad (right Or Wrong)? by delpee(f): 10:01pm On Aug 02, 2014
I pray that you succeed so your father can look back at his folly. You should avoid bitterness; just move on knowing that God never fails those who trust Him absolutely.

BTW I have a cousin who went through a lot of difficulties and trauma as a sickler. Many times, people feared for her life but today she's a graduate with a good profession and happily married with two lovely kids!

So shall it be for you by Gods grace. Amen.

Eeya! Seems most people feel frustrated about what happened. Good to have a fighting spirit. Our ancestors never gave up on anything. That's why we are where we are today.
I wish I copied and saved some of the pics on laptop. Would just have uploaded them to kick start the thread again.

May God continue to uphold Chibok people and may He guide and help us bring back our girls. 100 days and still counting - i'm just so sad. cry cry cry
Christianity Etc › Re: Sleeping In Church: Share Your Experiences by delpee(f): 5:30pm On Jul 20, 2014
qplus: Can u sleep in church during an MFM service huh?
Very difficult! Heavy prayers and praise worship will wake you up from slumber pronto! It seems people fall asleep more in orthodox churches when the priest giving the sermon of the day is boring or not spirit filled. For the pentecostals, those that have no message other than tithe giving and fund raising will lull the congregation to sleep - as in old story!

Family › Re: My Brother Or My Wife, Who Should I Pick? by delpee(f):
Let me tell 2 short stories.
A former colleague dropped out of school to send his siblings to school. The younger brother in particular was given maximum support and he schooled in the US. My guy made do with in house training opportunities at work but always wished he had had his education straight course like us.
Fast forward some years down the line, younger bro arrives big time with 'mama no nonsense wife'. He got a good job and incidentally had a friend working in our office who was happy to meet with his bro. Unfortunately younger bro had agreed with wife who knows no story that family members shall be restricted from their household. He refused to help anyone! Meanwhile he lived with his brother while in secondary school and conveniently forgot that he depended on him for everything.

2. From my experience in the banking sector, many widows and children are wallowing in poverty because of the preference of brothers over wives as next of kin. There was a woman then who had to repeatedly beg her bro-in-law trained by her husband to sign small amounts from her husbands estate to supplement the childrens school fees and upkeep which she was solely responsible for. The Estate was sufficient to take care of the family but younger bro as the administrator had his personal plans. Those kids suffered greatly!

That doesn't mean you won't occasionally come across irresponsible women who don't value their marital relationships and so seemingly deserve what they get.
My view is that your friend needs to pray and shine his eyes to know what to expect from either party before taking a decision. Not easy at all.
Christianity Etc › Re: 12 Things You Love That Are Banned In The Bible by delpee(f): 1:37pm On Jul 20, 2014
Is there really any need to argue? Jesus summarised the laws into 2 basically. Love your God with all your heart and Love your neighbour as yourself.
The point is that if you love your neighbour, you will not think of hurting him. The world will be more peaceful. Just read through all the laws and you find that they are rooted in love for God and man.
The New Testament clarifies most of the Mosaic laws e,g. Jesus told those who were to stone the adulterer to cast their stone if they were free from sin! No one did and she was saved yet stoning was part of the Mosaic law. It clearly shows that laws are to be applied with the Love your God and neighbour mindset. Forgiveness is important to God. We can't survive without Gods willingness to forgive so we must forgive others as much as possible.
To understand the Bible, read with an open mind going by the words in Proverbs 2:1-11. Pray for wisdom and understanding.

Nice one! Just like when I had to visit a new mother at the Ogba maternity centre. I was pleasantly surprised - not in anyway like the old heavily congested General Hospitals. Wish I took some pics.
