If so, it's wise to start your negotiation for resettlement/relocation and compensation early. Wiping out the village from history wouldn't be right. |

I dont think any right thinking Nigeria will support the killing of our soldiers, they perpetrators should be made to face the law,the military must apply internationally accepted military rules of engagement in doing this and not through crude brutality against the same people you are meant to protect in the first place. A lot has happened in the North that is not in the news... |

Dpharisee: Everyone is just giving their own version of the story, let an independent commission of enquiry be set up and we will be shocked at the outcome of what really transpired.
Another group are saying that Tantita security outfit owned by Tompolo which is responsible for guiding oil pipelines and filled with Ijaw ex militants have been using the cover of its contract with FG on oil pipelines protection to carry out attacks against riverine communities from other tribes. Then the Okuama youths received 'faulty intelligence' that they were coming to invade but unfortunately it happened to be soldiers and Tantita agents also wear military uniforms in some of their operations and it was when the dust settled that they realised that the people killed were soldiers.
This is the danger of handing over the country's security to non state actors like Tantita security and other private outfits and granting them licence to military grade weapons, its a failure from all sides that has led to the ongoing calamity This sounds more plausible. You've done a good analysis too. I read a similar story elsewhere. The fact is a lot of non state actors (including bandits) wear the military camouflage so mistakes may occur. Very sad indeed. |

All public institutions must be fair to every religion. Those who are not comfortable seeing a different religion from theirs on campus, should attend faith based institutions of their choice. A Christian shouldn't be claiming rights in an Islamic school nor a Muslim in a Christian school but schools run with public funds must always be neutral. |

malali: You cannot irrigate feed cows in dry season ? Are you educated ? I said dry season....cost of irrigation in dry season , enough to grow grass to feed cows is astronomical 1 Cow can eat a whole football field in one dry season, you want to irrigate 2 million football fields ? 1 cow will cost 20 million naira when its ready to sell. You think irrigation is free ? or cheap in the dry season ? Find out how other nations of the world have made a success of cow breeding without having to kill farmers and destroy other people's farms and properties. There's always a way to solve a problem that relates to nature if we try hard enough. The former Western Region had ranches which produced dairy products and beef. We had fresh bottled milk in Ibadan daily up to the early 70s. The military era killed that dream. Farm settlements existed too and never got invaded by the cows which were well cared for. Farmers and herders issues were permanently resolved in other nations, why is it impossible here? Why didn't herders key into the initiative of Dr Ganduje who tried to set up a proper expansive ranch in a forest in Kano? If more forests are properly developed and managed, we'll have less criminals using such places as hideouts and farmers can be settled nearby. Some farming waste is good enough food for cows after harvest plus they can grow suitable grass for cows commercially. That's added value. I think a State in the North has a way of doing that...maybe Bauchi or Jigawa. Why do we dwell on cow matters only? Who provides food for poultry and fish farmers? |
Business › Re: Folorunsho Alakija And Her Husband, Modupe Separate After 30 Years Of Marriage by delpee(f): 3:04pm On Mar 18, 2024 |
Konquest: @delpee,
You're welcome.
Tbh with you, the online and offline FALSE narratives about Mrs. Folorunso Alakija is the creation of the younger generation of misogynistic, ethnic bigots. The digital trail is out there online and this misinformation was started by younger Ibos who had sworn to damage folks of Yoruba descent online and offline as part of their hate speech and propaganda. There are also ethnic-based propaganda Websites where these youngsters from the East of Nigeria go to and they read these FAKE stories about a supposed Mrs. Alakija sleeping with IBB and Abacha to get the deep offshore wells. They are PURE lies regurgitated by creeps. Mike Adenuga, Femi Otedola, and a few prominent folks have been victims of defamation by these creeps just to lower or downplay the good image and successes of these multimillionaire and billionaires, while praising their own Ibo kinsmen as being better. Nairaland is littered with these horrible threads that contain criminally defamatory posts.
The beauty of the Internet is that these criminally defamatory posts can easily be tracked by Internet-savvy people like me using advance tools.
Mrs. Folorunso Alakija too will have to take ACTION to deal severely with these boys who spread fake information about her and defamed her for years. That would act as a deterant to others when 10 to 20 of them are charged to court. The FBI was able to track the online fraudster, Obinwane Okeke (Invictus Obi) based on the posts he made right here on Nairaland years back. So, the Internet is NOT anonymous like some think.
I must commend YOU for mentioning other fashion brands that were popular back from the early 1980s onwards in your post. It was as if you were reading my mind, but I chose NOT to mention the likes of DAKOVA (David Kolawole Vaughan), Latris, Sofisticat, and more because I didn't want my original post on this thread to be too long. It's good to still see many folks like you who witnessed real-time events back from the 1970s, 1980s till now.
This would help to keep misinformation by the younger folks in check online and offline.
Have an eventful day ahead.
Ciao. Thanks. The purpose is truly to educate the misinformed as you rightly pointed out. We'll keep doing that so that falsehood doesn't overshadow the truth. Those who deliberately thrive on lies will eventually entrap themselves. As they sow, so shall they reap. Have a most blessed week. |

Bandits get killed all the time. An interview of a bandit by a foreign journalist, shows that they sometimes react by kidnapping people when soldiers kill them and their family members. Kidnapped victims are also used as human shields when they suspect that the military will attack their camps in the forests. |

MatrixReloaded: In a dismay how a camouflage have been turn to flag. Anyone can rubbish it on the floor with blood stains. Let it sound as a warning that Soilders should focus on protecting the country and its citizen from foreign threats and it should be noted that where ever there is shooting Police and other sister agency should brave up and intervene.
Where there is bombardment is where a soilder should come in. Not whreer there is shooting you will call solders to come and have peace talk This is a clear deal went wrong in the hands of the opposition. The fallen solders lost there life for not knowing what the top commanders have in stock.
Even as a sergent or lituentnant ask you commander questions and don't always obey the last order. Most are ploy to destroy your existence. I learnt that 19 Police officers were killed in the same area two weeks ago. If that is true, it may be the reason why soldiers were sent to maintain peace between the warring tribes. |
