@OP
Why are you not working towards buying property for yourself? I believe that every woman should strive to own solid assets. No one knows the future. You should plan well for your children's sake. Depending on a man totally or having a sense of entitlement is a plan towards failure or underachievement.

If the money is his, you can't insist that he should add your name. A man who has full confidence in his wife and wants to protect his children will do so without being coerced.

Abuja in the Constitution isn't a state. FCT was defined in the Constitution. Please, get your facts right.

Nigeria comprises of two components in the Constitution;
1. The states
2. The FCT. One must get 2/3 of the two components

The Constitution defines the meaning of the states which are 36 while it went forward to define what FCT means. FCT is regarded as an Area Council headed by the President as the governor. So, if you must be the president of the council, 2/3 is the requirement

So, the Constitution isn't wrong to always note state and FCT. They're different entities So, get 2/3 in 24 states and 2/3 of the Area Council which is FCT Or do you win a state as a governor without winning 25% of the state, if we so consider FCT as a compulsory state? This is the council that houses all the Federal bodies

From the beginning in Section 2 (2) the Constitution distinguishes the states and FCT providing that “Nigeria shall be a Federation consisting of States and a Federal Capital Territory”

Then, section 134,
(b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

FCT is a special place. It has the unique look of Nigeria and was developed solely with tax payers funds. Which state is like Abuja? Which state is the President the governor? If not Abuja. This is defined word for word in the Constitution
There's nothing special about Abuja. It's considered as the 37th State with regards to elections. Besides, the sentence in the constitution states so when read from the English grammar perspective. Commas have their inferences. Same when there's an absence of it.

Most times the supposed guardian of this girl may have instigated the girl to embark on such on a cruel act.
I am 100% certain that if the girl is treated well, she won't contemplate such thought in the first place.
Do good so that good thing will come your way.
That's not always true from my personal experience over the years. Treating people well in this era guarantees nothing though, I would rather do so knowing that we reap as we sow.

Some hearts are desperately wicked. Envy, external influence and greed turns otherwise gentle girls to monsters.

Perhaps EFCC should have investigated him for financial crimes or maladministration instead. In any case, the former AG is chilling at home after all the 89 billion allegedly stolen.

Politics › Re: Do Igbos Really Come From Nigeria ? This Old Map Says Otherwise by delpee(f): 2:21pm On Jul 15, 2023
Na wa! Why is this even necessary?
We know that Igbos are Nigerians and have lived where they are for centuries. The Olukumis (old name) in present day Delta (Anioma) were Yorubas who moved there during the wars. We learnt that some elderly ones there still speak a dialect of Yoruba though most younger ones now bear Igbo names. I believe that they met people there who welcomed them.
Politics › Re: Despite Huge Revenue, Lagos Local Councils Underperform, Worsen Residents’ Pains by delpee(f): 10:17pm On Jul 14, 2023
It's embarrassing that supposedly educated minds can't discuss reasonably on a matter that affects us all irrespective of tribe or status. What's this new addiction to turning every post to tribal war?

Anyway, the fact is that LGs are underperforming across board and we should proffer good ideas towards their improvement for our benefit.

The CDAs should monitor the allocations received, how it is spent and brief their members. Residents/members should ensure that the CDAs work in their favor. They should monitor projects and help to ensure that facilities are well maintained and not vandalised.

One thing that baffles me is how and why the State Governments don't allow the LGs to thrive on their own by cornering their funds. Also why the LGs can't fight to get their full allocations and to make good use of it.

Locking them in prison is equivalent to enslaving them and Nigeria been an Islamic country , it's totally forbidden to send those freedom fighters to prison.
We can only achieve total Islamization of Nigeria with the help of those freedom fighters .
They should be protected at all cost !
Interesting!

Nobody is speaking up for those in IDP camps and those whose houses and farms have been burnt or taken over by the bandits, yet, the bandits want to be forgiven and paid for the misery and pain that they caused.

The ND militants had a different goal and focused on fighting FG not innocent people. The 2 scenarios are so different.

Religion has turned my mother into a shadow of herself.
Ever since our teenage years my mother was not the churchy type. We are raised Catholics
Back then she was active and bubbling.

all of a sudden my mother left Catholic faith and started messing around with different churches.
This has cause countless rift between us, my dad and elder sister have done everything possible but my mum is too brainwashed by these Pentecostal pastors.

How can someone be attending Christ embassy and winners chapel?? I Heard she wants to join mountain of fire but changed her mind.
Everytime church, church, church
Yet she never gain anything from it
I have been sending her money for her for upkeep since November last year only to come back home February this year and discovered she donates everything to different churches

I feel she might have a mental disorder and I don't know how to save her.
She literally spends all the money in church donation tithe and all those craps. And those pastors always calling her to come for one program or the other. I don't know what to do
Does she have a particular problem that she's trying to resolve? Find out and encourage her with any similar story from the Bible to prove that she can fight her battle on her own. Hopefully, she'll go back to her regular Church. God listens to and answers anyone who calls upon him in spirit and in truth. His response may not be exactly what we want but it will be what is best for the time and season.

In one word, I was partially or temporarily disowned as of the time of writing this report

If una fit adopt me for two weeks please dm 😭
Sounds funny but I can imagine your situation. You need to calm down and find a way of convincing her that "faith without works is dead". That's a Bible quote. A lot is also said about diligence, wisdom, knowledge and the good use of talents and gifts. The problem is that most people are so gullible. They listen to the clerics without making efforts to read the word of God on their own.

Don't fight her. Teach her to understand what is required of her as a Christian based on scripture and not the manipulations of pastorpreneurs. She won't disown you. A mother's love is infinite and the ultimate.

All these chest beating and superiority contests by Igbos and Yoruba are a waste of time. Every tribe has it's good and bad sides. We have those who excel and there are failures. There are upright people and the fraudulent. No perfect people anywhere. There are better matters to discuss than the mundane that we're being inundated with on a platform which used to have brighter minds.

It's so sad that we've sunk so low as a nation.

Is this bitter rant necessary? You made a beautiful post but spoilt it with this unnecessary bitter comment.

I am Igbo, a reputable man from my community is Femi Otedola's close friend and ally right from the time of Goodluck. He was among the people that mediated for Otedola when he was bankrupt and Goodluck bailed him. He visited Otedola almost monthly in Ghana where Femi was spending most of his time then until Goodluck came to power and bailed him. He is Igbo, he is closer to Femi Otedola than you that's same tribe with Femi Otedola.

God is watching you all, sorrow may endure for the night but joy will definitely come in the morning, you all will live to see what the Lord can do
Otedola told the story of how he escaped bankruptcy. The late Subomi Balogun also did a lot for him being his father's friend. Still, its true that a lot of people ignore tribal affiliations whilst helping people. That has been the Nigerian story and it shall always be.

Amen to the prayer. There shall be peace and progress for everyone in this nation.

Some songs promote drug abuse among the youth. I get worried when I hear little kids singing and dancing to those songs. The relevant authorities should review the lyrics of songs before their release to save our young ones from undue influence.

This isn't a good example by Olamide as a father. Children learn by what they see more than what they're told.

Not everyone had Internet access then. Students and workers used laptops to browse mostly.

Apart from that, there was more unity then. Unfortunately, times have changed so drastically with so much bitterness and anger everywhere.

NL was a good place to learn and discuss sensibly back then. There was a platform to help truly distressed people which most of us keyed in to happily. Members actually visited such people and rendered help on behalf of the group. It's not possible now with the current legion of beggars online.

Beautiful years gone by.

I wish he gets some people from other tribes for fairness but this particular list is for his personal staff. It's his choice especially considering his safety and performance.

The list of Ministers and heads of agencies will reflect federal character whether he likes it or not.
