e7ejinima:So what's the point of vilifying the Yorubas for voting massively against someone they voted for in the previous election, because he didn't perform, if not demanding some sort of apology? What then do you people want? Equal alliance or master-slave partnership, learn to respect people's choices. You made yours, others should be allowed to make theirs |
deomelo:You didn't read the original post. The agreement was reach in May 2015, after Jonathan lost. He stopped the arrangement to make the payment because it was very close to handover day and didn't was raise any suspicion. I bet, Buhari would have raise alarm if he did without giving thought as to why the money was paid. Buhari was briefed about the agreement, but he chose to challenge it and he lost out. That's his fault, he should accept responsibility. You want me to tell you all Jonathan's achievements? The same person I helped push out of government because he didn't do well? Say something else. Like Jonathan, like Buhari. |
@deomelo If you're hired to replace a non-performing manager, you don't blame the sacked manager for your failure to do better. You applied for a job and you stated how you'd do things differently and far better if employed during the interview. If at any time you feel you can't live up to expectation, you either resign or wait until the Company fire you too. This a perfect example of how stupid it sounds for Buhari to blame Jonathan for his poor performance. Regardless of whether this case came up because the last administration breached a contract, Buhari administration should have weighed the consequences of contesting the $850 million settlement. Now which is prefarable, $850 million or #2.7 trillion? Though Jonathan administration is the root of this mess, he would have settled it if he was reelected. By this singular act, voting Buhari has cost the country more than #2.4 trillion. Please pray tell, what has been the achievements of this regime in the last 3 years? Please, no mention of corruption. |
It should also be noted that Yorubas owe no one any explanation or apology for any choice we make. Many Yorubas voted for Jonathan in 2011, and many still did same in 2015, but not just as much as the previous election. This is not a betrayal, it's called democracy. Voting massively for Buhari in 2015 may have proven to be a democratic mistake, I'm certain the Yorubas will send Buhari a message through their votes in the next general elections. Igbos should learn to respect our choices. |
tomakint:He'll do anything to remain in power, anything. He won't care if everyone ends up dead, judging from antecedence, they'll justify it. |
I like the fact that Buhari is picking fights on different fronts. He has activated self-destruct mode and he's bring the country down with himself. He won't stop until it's too late. Just wait until he Let them not shealth their swords, but rather eliminate themselves. Anyone who faintly, in one way or the other, has a hand in the mess the country is, will not survive the next 5 years. |
deomelo:We know Jonathan didn't perform well. For God's sake, that's why some 15 million people voted for Buhari. The question here is "Why did Buhari Plung Nigeria Into N2.7 Trillion Mess To Spite GEJ?" If we want to talk debt, Buhari has incurred more debt, in multiple of what you stated that Jonathan incurred, but that's not the discussion on this thread. |
I'm voting for this man if he appears in the ballot. He was supposed to be Yar Adua's Vice instead of Jonathan. |
Mcquine:Your opinion. |
dominique:Not actually. An average Herdsman will attack without provocation if he sees that you're vulnerable and alone. |
This is uncalled for. Election is still like 9 months away and some idiots already think Yorubas will vote massively for Buhari just because of June 12 and some post-humus awards. I bet most Yoruba voters won't vote for Buhari based on this and if anyone thinks otherwise, it remains to be seen next year. This is an insult on well meaning Yorubas like myself. I think the Igbos will do well to refrain from this bitterness against the Yorubas. In Yorubaland, everyone is free to make his or her political and religious choices without fear of being labelled an outcast or betrayer. Igbos should not overflog this issue. Most Yorubas have probably already decided whether or not to vote for Buhari before now, and nothing can change the decision, not even if he (Buhari) brings back Abiola from the dead to rule for the rest part of his tenure. |
Interesting read. I can't believe it's been 20 years. Add the kind of freedom we have now to what we had then, trust me, you'll never pray for this so called democracy. We had the chance to establish an egalitarian and prosperous society...a chance to continue from where we stopped in 1966 before that infamous coup that derailed our true federal status, but what do we have? A 1999 constitution- the mother of 21st century corruption. We were too in a hurry to return to civil rule and forgot to retrace our steps and not to build on existing platform. Though I was still in early teenage then, I wasn't too young to know that Nigerians had a better life then, far ahead of what's obtained now. Corruption as we have it now, started taking a more dangerous turn around 2002. We thought democracy would be a government of the people, by the people and for the people, but it turns out that our own brand of democracy is a government of those in government, by those in government and for those in government. |
blazer2018:They are have well organised platforms that'll make it difficult for the Chairman to embezzle funds. I don't about anywhere else, but local government chairmen and councillors are people we can flog in the market square here. |
blazer2018:Local government Chairmen can't stand the fury of NULGE. These Chairmen are people known down to their family root. I think the Governors are bigger monsters. |
buhariguy:See your life? You even have the effrontery to mention PDP subsidy fraud where Buhari is mentioned? Buhari that spent #1.4 trillion on subsidy within a year while deceiving your kinds that they've removed subsidy. Please take your zombiesm to where it is appreciated. Of course, Buhari obviously did better as PTDF Chairman than he's doing as President. I'd like you to state the actual amount Buhari spent on capital expenditure last fiscal year, not the budgeted sum? #9 trillion budget, zero achievement. |
ademoladeji:You should tell us why the last 3 years of stabilization is much more perilous than the 16 years of PDP destabilization. This regime is simply a continuation of PDP's job, but on a more destructive scale. |
This is meaningless in the affairs of the nation. |
Though still very young, I became politically aware in the wake to the 1993 elections. Abiola made a very big mistake, declaring himself the winner of the anulled election. |
Dino, Abiola was a nigerian and death can't rob him of his nationality. However, the attempt to appeal to our (the Yorubas) emotions through Abiola and June 12 is dead on arrival. No one will vote for Buhari based on that. |
kabrudrapist:He's not totally wrong. That's in fact, a British accent. |
hmuhammad:And in your demented mind, I am IPOB or Igbo right? Continue in your foolery. You won't know what hit you next year election. |
highchief1:I'm Yoruba. Stop your stereotyping. |
I don't see how this translates to an achievement, for those who have brain. If this is all Buhari has to offer after three years in office, he's in for shocker next year. |
Yorubas have moved on from June 12. Same Abacha that jailed Abiola and killed his, is Buhari's role model. Moving democracy day to June 12 can only swing the gullible ones. |
It really changes nothing. In time, Buhari will realize this. |
Pataricatering:I'm Yoruba, but this doesn't change the fact that Buhari has failed in every aspect of governance. He can honor me with GCFR if he likes, I'm voting against him. For some of you who can see the bigger picture, you can vote for him again just for June 12. Anything not geared towards turning the fortune of the country around is dead on arrival. |
Enice:I never mentioned Saraki or Idris, not even Offa. If you think the police invited Saraki because they about Offa people, or that the National Assembly passed 11 resolutions because they care about Nigerians, then you need help. This was my message. I don't care even if they kill Saraki right now, but isn't it obvious this is just a charade? Now please, go and nurse your comprehension problem somewhere else. |
No wonder they look dirty. |
buhariguy:20000 or 5000, needless loss of lives is unacceptable. Buhari was not elected to break all the bad records set by past administration, he was elected to make things change. Since 5000 human lives is an acceptable loss to you, would you rather be the 5001th victim? |
Enice:Tell me how this rubbish you posted correlate to my post? |
Nice and proactive move |
solasoulmusic:Everything portrayed in that video is true and nothing but the truth. I don't know why some feel offended when faced with reality. |
