peter obi's plan to tackle insecurity will be effective within 5 months!
the legalization of state and local govt police in addition to federal police and very active civil defence combined with no nonesence action from federal government will end insecurity, kidnapping, armed robbery and many criminal vices within a space of 5 months!
The President unilaterally legalizing local government and state policing? Seriously? And you honestly think the past Presidents knows the right thing to do but wickedly decided to do the opposite? I want to believe you're talking from a point of ignorance.
TheOldGods: Nobody is talking about the big Elephant in the room, which is lack of electricity. This week I've spent 58,000 naira on fuel for my generator for work, that is full tank for alot of cars every week, and the car owners are complaining, what about us that need Electricity to work. I barely get 6 hours of electricity, I tried buying solar, but the conditions are too much, turn off this, turn this on, don't use this bulb. Mehn, plus I can't turn on AC while working. Since my work is from home I decided to buy a laptop worth 1million here on Nairaland (thanks to Nairaland )just to ease my work, atleat I get 4 hours of break in severe heated room with my laptop.
How else can someone survive in this country with this low electricity, is there any state that is better? Or is it a must I have to travel to another African country just to get simple electricity to work. My generator just went off and my fuel gone, that why I came here to rant. I'm going to buy feul at 615 naira per litre

OAM4 Mynd44
You don't want to use solar because of conditions, but can spend 160k on fuel? You sure say you get sense like this? I acquired a solar unit of less than 800k in February (dedicated solely for work. Connected only to my work Space), and I've never started my generator since then. The last fuel I bought for my generator is still almost 10 litres left.
This country is just messed up. Nobody sees the little ways they're contributing to the rot, but quick to point fingers at the politicians. What do we call this one now? I mean, The President of the NFF, making an official payment in a foreign currency to another Nigerian in this same country! And we're talking about how the value of Naira is falling?
Stoplying: Diplomas are legal and official documents everywhere in the world, forged diplomas however are not legal nor official anywhere in the world.
Certificates are never official documents anywhere in the world. Even in Nigeria, you can't get a reasonable job just by showing them your certificate. They'll still have to go confirm you actually attended and graduated from the school. I only gave my employer my matriculation number. They never asked for my certificate. I've not even seen the shit in two years. Have you even seen any university that accepts your certificate as a requirement for post-graduate studies, even in Nigeria? Your undergraduate university will have to mail them your transcripts instead. Nobody cares the grade written on that pieces of paper you carry about as certificate without seeing your transcripts. But do I expect people blinded by hate to know this? Definitely no.
ravensckar: Una don start with una lies abi? Una no dey tire ni?
30k for contributory gift & Charity? Just talk sey na money wey you take dey bang Hoe.losho monthly.
30K for clothing? So, you buy clothes for your wife & children monthly? Bros, lie no go kill you.
Medicals 15k monthly? Shey you be Sickle Cell patient ni (apologies to all sickle cell carriers).
In summary, you want us to believe that you only save 10% of your monthly earnings? Na him be sey you no suppose to open mouth insult any government official because you too aren't great at managing resources.
Mind you, I also have a family of 4 (myself, my wife & two kids) and we no dey spend reach half of wetin you type there. Make una suffery suffery dey lie for public forum. You guys will keep scaring the fresh & upcoming graduates into thinking that they won't survive.
Haba?
Don't mind him. You can't even be earning above 500k and your company won't have health insurance package, and he's still budgeting 15k for medicals monthly?
I don't need to hire a lawyer to stop anyone from gaining access to my records.
For the simple fact that there is nothing untoward in my records.
That's why you're not the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The release of his documents will be delayed for as long as possible and when it's eventually released, nothing useful to Atiku would be found in there.
Nice2023: U guys outside FCT are always envious. U can be here too is not my father's inheritance but it is a middle class environment.
Just pray make things better for u...because I don't think u sound healthy.
You're not even ashamed to call yourself an indigene of FCT. I've not seen a more useless and backward people than you guys. You don't even have a say how you'd like to govern yourselves, it's outsiders that decide your destinies because you've sold it out in 1978, that's why you can't say nada when the government talks.
Love800: Ok So in what circumstance can it be use? And hw can it be put into use.
OK, so I'm familiar with some that I personally use. For Life assurance, you may choose to insure your life for 20 million Naira for the next 12 years for instance. So the insurance company will calculate the premium you're to be paying (it can be monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually) depending on your choice. Peradventure anything happens to the insured within the period of the 12 years, it doesn't matter if it's after one month into the program or just 1 day left, the company will pay the full amount of 20 million to the beneficiary, after its established that the deceased died of natural causes. The one for single family is usually very expensive. However, if nothing happens to the insured at the end of the tenure, he or she will be paid with interest. It also serves as a form of investment.
We have health insurance. Mostly done in groups, like for staff members of an organization or members of a union. Most of the plans cover basic treatments and procedures, so you don't have to pay out of pocket when you're sick.
We also have automobile insurance for insuring your cars.
successmatters: I was shocked to my bone marrows this afternoon, after I saw a trending video of a crowd of people openly stealing rice from a vehicle driving along a public road, in the full glare of everyone!
Mothers were stealing rice, with their children, fathers were openly stealing bags of rice, with their friends, people with religious attires even joined and were stealing rice without any fear?
Is this how bad this country has become?
One day people will be robbing people openly, whole communities could just turn to armed robbers, and people will be looking on and smiling?
Well, my first and only experience of people stealing from commuting vehicles was in the SE.
Love800: What is insurance pls? And how is it put into use?
Goodmorning
If you're asking because you felt insurance is meant for unforeseen unfortunate circumstances, well, I'm glad to announce to you that natural disasters or pandemics are not part of those. No where in the world do companies cover for events like earthquakes, typhoons, floods and pandemics (in the case of health insurance).
pelmart: The bike no get insurance neither the truck.
This is the problem, with little cover, this unfortunate financial cost will be mitigated.
We keep behaving as if we are in different world.
Earthquake just happened in Morocco, Turkey and other disasters but all those properties are being rebuilt with little costs because of INSURANCE.
GET INSURANCE TODAY, TO PREVENT YOU TELLING STORY THAT TOUCHES
I don't think insurance covers natural disaster of such magnitude. From my experience, it doesn't. However, it's a fact that Nigerians hate insurance, be it automobile, life, or health. They'll rather shoulder the risk when it happens. We're a definition of hypocrites. I see someone who paid 750k for the job she's currently doing also complaining about the state of the nation. This person is a supposed obidient o.
Blitzerz: Stop yarning unnecessary shalaye You cant get ip address from twitter backend.
Rest
Go and post nonsense on twitter and see if hand no go touch you. The FG that can ban you from accessing twitter in Nigeria can not get any information about a twitter user within Nigeria. Just dey play.
Angelfrost: Well, it has always been the last resort of ignored yearnings of organized labor... And it has been quite effective across the world.
A people-centered and smart progressive government will make serious effort to prevent such extremes by meeting the yearnings of workers...
Most of these strikes stem from a lack of transparency and honesty on the part of the leaders.
Well I don't think grounding the country because of subsidy removal is a good idea. Average Nigerians do not actually benefit from subsidy. Shutting down Banks and DisCos would make things worse for those they're supposed to be fighting for. I'll never support any industrial action again removal of subsidy on petrol. We are not talking about education or health here. The country is already in big financial mess, giving the government time to access their purse and make necessary adjustments to their employees paychecks is the right thing to do. This is just a matter between the FG and their workers, nobody should drag the whole country into the mess. We all witnessed the unnecessary suffering that threatened the very existence of this country during the Naira swap, yet this same NLC kept mum.
Strike is a useless way force government hands to do your biddings. Those observing the strike can as well continue till God knows when. It won't still stop a thing.
Funny! Government agencies don't just racketeer jobs on their own. They do that after they must have given the Legislators their own slots, then sell the rest. That's Nigeria for you.
SocialJustice: There's no need limiting anything. Poverty will teach any unwise family a bitter lesson. This is not even a time to get married, talk of having children.
This won't work. In most cases, it's the poor that breed like rats.
ideamonster: It's no surprise that things are getting harder every year in Nigeria. Even before the subsidy removal, the cost of everyday items are on the rise.
You may have noticed that the size of bread that sold for N200 about 5 years ago now goes for N1000. This means that families today need to allocate 5 times amount of money to bread than they used to five years ago. What even makes it harder is that every year since 2015, Nigeria has added a minimum of 7 million children every year. This is more than the size of singapore. It is worth nothing that 63 million Nigerians are alive today, who had not ben born when Muhammadu Buhari was elected in 2015. And with Nigeria's current fertility rate of 5.31 children per mother, each additional birth is creating an increase in the number of people who need to be fed.
In light of the following, several people are exploring the possibility that should Nigeria place limits on child size per family similar to such a policy enacted by the government of China in the late 1970s. In the special report exploring this topic below, population scientists, policy analysts, statisticians and everyday people ask the question: Is it time for Nigeria to start limiting children born into each family in this economy?
Do you agree? Do you support it? What alternatives to such a policy exist?
KanwuliaExtra: They said what? You want to believe that fraudulent school with serious credibility issues? The trick TIEFNUBU has used for over 30 years to fool people? Any bribed official can write a letter. Notice the letter were never notorized?
CSU na black school na. You know what that means. SUBSTANDARD AND SHADY! TIEFNUbu has been giving them 'palliatives' since the 1990s with his drug money to give him credibility. You dey attend school and graduate with FAKE CERTIFICATE?
Even OBI 3rd class better pass this OLUWOLE FIRST CLASS TIEFFT-TIEFFY ACCOUNTANT!
Ha!
Since you lot have already made up your mind that the school is fraudulent and you're sure they'll defend Tinubu at all cost, why bother chasing wild Goose? We are familiar with this psychological tactics. The format don cast. You guys tried to discredit and blackmail the judiciary, now you're calling Chicago State University a black University that's known for fraud. All because of Tinubu? I'm sure you'll be singing a new song if the school, peradventure, denies Tinubu ever attended their school. You'll gladly forget you once stereotyped them as "black" school and fraudulent. You should be ashamed of yourself as a black man for deriding a university that obviously exists before you father was born just because you thought they have more black students population. This hatred for Tinubu and anything Yoruba will eventually be your undoing in life. Just mark it!
I didn't even want Tinubu to succeed Buhari before, because of his grave silence in the face of glaring mis-governance by Buhari, but seeing how you guys just elevated a known disaster in the person of Obi to a Saint while expending all your energies on tarnishing the image of Tinubu, I knew you were on to no good. I'm glad to inform you that this same person you love to hate will remain in power until 2031. It doesn't matter what you feel about him, you're inconsequential in the scheme of things, Nigeria will come out better afterwards and shame will be your portion.
Oga, the days of Lagos-Ibadan expressway media propaganda are long gone.. Everyone now has a phone and have access to the Internet.. They will tell the stories first hand and fresh from the buying..
For this my Adamawa state, Yorubas no reach 20k people..
And I should believe you because I don't know the road that leads to Adamawa? You can believe whatever nonsense that makes you sleep well at night. I've been to all the major settlements in the North. For every Igbo person in the North, there's at least, an equal number of Yoruba person. There are many Yoruba people in the North that you can't even differentiate from the indigenes. That your people are mostly seen in markets doesn't make you more in numbers. You for talk say Yoruba people no reach 2k for Adamawa na. Even in my Mom's family alone, we have more than 20 people living in Jimeta alone. I'm married to someone in So'o in Adamawa state, just so you know you're not talking to someone who taking his information just from the internet.
Chetas81: I wonder why people decide their future, foreigners from another country started having problems, the Nigerian citizen do not see their self suffer, that is why their supporting military against niger republic
People voted for the man undemocratically ousted? No? And how did you come up with the idea that "majority of Nigeriens" are in support of the coup?
phemmyfour: You shouldn't have Emir in the first place. You ve lost your identity
Emir where? It seems you have bomb in your head. Wetin concern Ekiti Kwara people with what's going on in a city 1hr drive away as long as they keep their madness in their enclave? All Kwara South settlements have crowned Kings, idiot! But no one expects you to know since you can't even differentiate Ilorin from Kwara state.
phemmyfour: Kwara has lost its identity. Kogi is not a Yoruba state
Mumu. We celebrated our Oro festival just last weekend in my hometown and I'm from Ekiti local government of Kwara state. Whatever the Emir of Ilorin is banning does not have any effect outside the four corners of Ilorin.
Housing: There is condition attached to it. An RSA holder is expected to be without job for a minimum of 4months.
And can't withdraw again until he/she attain 50years even if he remain jobless.
The Op that started the this thread suggested granting RSA holder opportunity to make an unconditional 25% lump sum withdrawal of each account balance as today irrespective of being a retired, in active, jobless even if you have withdraw in the past. So far you haven't withdraw in the last six months.
Maybe because it's retirement savings account. People will abuse the opportunity if allowed to withdraw without restrictions. That would defeat the actual purpose of the scheme.
ozo13: that 25% is tied to housing alone.what the op is talking about is unconditional withdrawal to reduce the hardship in the land
I don't know about Civil Servants. Maybe not the same with those in the private section, because no condition is attached to it the last time I checked.
