playah P: FIRST OF ALL; THESE BOYS WERE NOT ROBBERS.
THEY ARE CULTIST AND THEY BELONG TO THE MAFIA CONFRATERNITY.
THEY CAME TO COUP THEIR DON BEFORE THEY WERE CAUGHT BY THE VIGILANTE.
EVEN BEFORE THE VIGILANTE BURNT THEM, THEY LOOKED FOR THE PERSON THAT THEY CAME TO COUP BUT HE WAS LUCKY HE DIDNT SLEEP IN HIS HOUSE....

I REPEAT; THEY ARE NOT ROBBERS!!!!
SHIT LIKE THIS PISS ME OFF.
HOW CAN U JUST BURN PERSON LIKE THAT??
sorry I have no real experience of cultism, but what do CULTISTS in nigeria do?

do they organise cultural dance competitions and career seminars for other students?

sapien: Though,I am a student of Uniport and I know of the heinous activities these evil cult boys perpetrate every night on Aluu residents, watching the video some couple of minutes ago, however, almost brought tears to my eyes. The ways those guys were killed is Barbaric and outlandish;they were lynched and burnt by fierce looking mobs! The sight was so gory.We shouldn't take law into our own hands. This is the 21st century for crying out loud!Jungle justice should have demised years ago.Isn't it because of crime that security forces like the police exist? Why couldn't the bandits be handed to the police after they had been caught? The perpetrators of this barbaric act should all be apprehended and should be made to face the full wrath of the law.Nigeria is such a fuc.ked up country!SMH!
you went to look for the video, you didnt look for videos of these guys in action? you missed their fierce looking guns and barbaric behaviour?
this is the 21century for goodness sake!! dont enter peoples house to steal phones and money you didnt work for! dont rape people!
these guys dont face the full wrath of the law why do you think these vigilantes would get '21 century' justice?

The Jungle has its own rule!!
CrimeRe: 3 Students Burnt To Death In Uniport by DisGuy: 9:37pm On Oct 05, 2012
Nebeuwa: So there is no more rule of law in Nigeria?

Does the crime fit the punishment?

Seems a little (a lot) hypocritical of those villagers to attack these young men, when Nigerian politicians are known for stealing from the nation's coffers.

This was way too barbaric for my eyes.
in reality you think if these so called politicians walked the streets of nigeria without armed guards they wont get the same treatment?
CrimeRe: 3 Students Burnt To Death In Uniport by DisGuy: 9:28pm On Oct 05, 2012
these pictures are very disturbing, and while i dont support the nefarious activities of armed robbers in any way, the manner in which these people were tortured and executed, raises more questions than answers.

i think those who paraded these men in broad daylight, also need to be brought to book because nobody seems to know for sure what crime/s they actually committed.

true, armed robbery is a serious problem in nigeria, but mob action hasnt slowed it down in any way. If anything at all, more and more youths have been turning to crime and for flimsy reasons.

in addition, this coming on the heels of the mubi student killings, is very suspicious and smacks of cult affiliation.
the period when bakassi boys(not sure their name) and 'real' opc were operating there was noticeable decline in crime in those communities

and this has nothing to do with mubi

bashr8: i live in enugu my point is the villagers that carried out the jungle justice how will they sleep at night abi they find it as normal thing to beat and watch the person burn huh

oyb: strongly considering the dog thing - problem is i have kids age 3 and 5 - have heard some horror stories about out of control dogs

as per the gun, in nigeria, legally, you can only get a double barrelled shotgun, and oddly police will advise you against it.
ypu might want to get a cage then or allow them out at night

PoliticsRe: Pan-african TVC News To Start 24-hour Broadcasting From November by DisGuy: 2:33pm On Oct 04, 2012
celepapa: TVC News pictures can only be compared to that of CNN, Aljazeera and the likes. Africa would atleast for the first time be proud of having a news station that can compete for viewers in the Global scene. Some members of the management team are:

Nigel Parsons, CEO

Nigel Parsons was the pioneer MD of Al Jazeera English, overseeing the channel from concept to launch. It was immediately recognised as one of the ‘Big 3’ global news channels,He has also worked as an editor, reporter and producer for the BBC, ABC America, CBC Canada, The New Zealand Herald, and RTHK Hong Kong.

Lemi Olalemi- Deputy CEO

Lemi Olalemi began his career in broadcasting in 1979, when he joined Radio Lagos and LTV as a producer. He then became the pioneer Director of Programmes at Channels TV, before acting as a technical and programming consultant for MITV and AIT

Stuart Young, Director News & Programmes

Stuart Young has worked in the television industry for 30 years, in international news.Stuart was the youngest ever Deputy Editor of BBC TV's flagship "Nine o’clock News", Output Editor for CNN, a senior member of the launch teams for Al Jazeera English, Euronews and Middle East Broadcasting Centre.

RICHIE DAYO JOHNSON – DIRECTOR

RDJ as he is often called brings to the dynamic management team almost three decades of Anglo/African experiential knowledge in the communications industry. He worked at GEC, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham and IBM London before becoming Joint Managing Director of Universal Communications Group and later Deputy Managing Director of The Job Paper, London.
A radio and television broadcaster by training and an alumnus of the prestigious University of Teesside, Middlesbrough, UK, RDJ is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a certified Life and Business Coach, an accomplished Toastmaster and guardian of Etiquette and Modern Business Manners.

And the list goes on and on... Africa must be heard at the global scene
this looks like a solid bunch..on paper, hope they atleast compete well with even the South African TV stations first

I don't know of another President or leader in the world that would be receiving much insult as he is and still be calm and calculated... maybe u know some, but I'll u to mention just 1 (including urself).
We Nigerians must learn to respect our leaders if we want them to perform well period!
Gordon Brown
Bush
Obama
Putin
etc

these people just go on with the job (exfept for putin) they werent obsessed with being the most 'praised', they answered their critics and responded as well as they can to criticism, you dont respect people just for the sake of it!

TravelRe: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by DisGuy(mod): 12:51pm On Sep 28, 2012
Donxavier: I have heard this too but I still don't understand how it works or whether it makes sense especially to those planning to remain in the UK after studies.
My understanding of the NI number is that it is used for tax records. This means the number of your hours you worked will be logged on. I'm sure the process doesn't recognize during school hours or holiday hours. So, how can you work more during holidays? Unless the additional hours wont be reflected in your records or you're paid in cash without any documentation.

Also there are many Nigerians here in Aberdeen but from what I have seen so far only few get very good jobs. I guess that's the reality anyway cos of the recession and all that. But the work wey guys they do grin grin grin after MSC d thing tire me grin grin grin....Work they would never do if they were in Naija and all that...Why not just go back homehuh..na talk for another thread be that

Before the floodgates open and I'm accused of not respecting the dignity in any Labour I don't have issues with doing any kind of legitimate menial part time work during full study. But if after spending almost 4M and completing your degree, and those kinds of jobs are what one is still staying behind to do in the UK then it doesn't look right to me. My opinion anyways smiley
I'm not sure how it works too, but thats the general advise, not like they will come and drag you out of class or on the street, but you can generally have an idea of how many hours some one thats expected to be a student is working by his/her wages and tax records and when you're submitting documents for extensions or something else it will be quite obvious what periods are term time and holidays

Those doing menial roles several years after their studies obviously didnt come with a Plan B, but then again some people dont really know what they want after studying they just follow the wind

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Is A Trainee President - ACN by DisGuy: 4:04pm On Sep 27, 2012
SweetMouth: I strongly think that the ACN hasn't been among parties I would term as "Patriotic". Rather than proffer solution or make constructive opposition where neccessary, all they do is INSULT our President. I'm not a card-carrying member of any party but I believe in "giving honour to whom its due" embarassed embarassed lipsrsealed
which party is patriotic?

Which party has been giving constructive criticism?

why is this particular president so obsessed with insult, were the previous president getting pat on the back or perhaps because they were abokis its okay to wallop them left right and centre?

contracts for the design of five fast train lines
across the country.

Horus: Yes I know that there is rapid trains in Japan but Where is it mentioned in the article that this contract is for a bullet trains?. That was my point. Dont you think it is strange that this "contract" do not even mention the country or factory that will deliver the trains?, this is what I mean when I said: "What kind of train is that?"
in another newspaper and on channels i heard it's for a feasibility study not even a design contract o

these things are all too confusing, cos im sure ive heard the Lagos -Ibadan so many time even 2 weeks ago!!
