Hot V na VIP wey get access to bank toilets o, na that VIP wey know say something dey lead to so'tin for inside bank toilet tongue

I knew Pillars would make a good run this year seing as tehy didnt have too many games to play unlike
the previous season after the championship where tehy were bombarded with Champions league, Super four, Some funny FA cup and sundry matches including the one against portsmouth, they were playing a game every 3 days back then thats why they finished outside the top four last season
Now they can concentrate on the league alone

Like i said the Afonja Warriors are definitely playing in an african tournament this year!!

Well depends really, He is going alone, no wife or girlfriend just graduated 2008 so i guess he is cutting his coat according to his pocket
I doubt he'll be choosy about hotels that much seeing as we went backpacking as a group on the cheap in second year

He's thinking Max 250k, He is going alone
He's staying with some relatives in Lagos,
planning to stay 3-4 nights in Calabar just for pictures and some fresh air
And visit old some old school friends around Abuja

Heard one can get tickets to return to Abuja for less than N10k
Dont know about Calabar though, funny how the travel agents on here
are only interested in 'abroad' packages

It seems wife bashing is not against the law in nigeria. . . this is the second time a judge will adjorn a case
involving men bashing the wife instead of detaining them, first the other man was bashing his wife for not giving
birth to a male child-he even told the court he warned her about having females shocked and the judge still leave them
to go home together!! Sad!

Is this information from the police or some alleged source, why didn't they print the name since they know the rascal was the one involved in the case- the journalist know the case involved, knows the tribe, probably knows the address of the judge, but case disclose the name? undecided

Sanusi is obviously power drunk, the man does not know anything about building confidence in a sector that is sensitive to speculation and misinformation, people praising this man seem to be clueless without fundamental knowledge of finance, corporate law and governance.
Mind you, under his watch first bank had to make a provision of over 20 billion in bad debts and he is being tagged as a specialist in risk management, lol "joker!"
Mind you experience bankers are part of thise praising the action of the CBN
How long was he the head of First Bank
I dont think anyone is can avoid bad debts anyway compared to what some other banks went into N20b is still 'safe'

Ok thanks for the info. I guess I don't have to prepare for the GMAT any time soon and I am in the US. Just wondering what one could do after graduation and no job immediately.
Please dont let me discourage you!! Wait for more experienced members especially those in the US
and always consult your career advisors about your opyions

What is wrong with doing a Masters or an MBA without work experience? Is it a bad thing and if so why? That's why I'm asking. What if one does not get a job immediately graduating what next?
Depends on where you are, If you are in the UK there are quality work experience programmes for graduates now on; you can even work 25hrs/week for 6months for some top firms (very competitive though), many volunteering opportunities around as well where you can atleast get good working experience with updated reference

If you are in nigeria, you should consider networking just keep digging for uncle/brother/aunty-someone who knows someone that works somewhere dont limit yourself to one city/state or you can attached yourself to a proper NGO with structure so you can get something relevant doing
Career › Re: Anyone Doing An MBA In A Top School Without Work Experience? by DisGuy: 2:31pm On Feb 01, 2010
Most of you know that the average number of years of full-time work experience has risen dramatically at the top B-schools. Schools that only recently averaged two or three years now average five. And that number keeps rising.
You don't want to apply too early. I have many ambitious students in my GMAT classes who insist on taking their shot at the brass ring with only two years of full-time work experience. (And that's by the time they would enter school, not when they plan to apply.) Although some of them are exceptionally bright and do well on the GMAT, very few of them make it into top-tier programs. Most end up "trading down" to a backup school or getting rejected altogether.

I have to admit that I agree with admissions officers who reject inexperienced applicants. The whole objective in assembling a business school class is to put together people who can share unique experiences from their industries. If you have two years in your industry and another applicant has five years in the same business, I'm going to take the more experienced candidate over you, even if his GMAT score is a little lower than yours.

Career › Re: Anyone Doing An MBA In A Top School Without Work Experience? by DisGuy: 1:55pm On Feb 01, 2010
Most if not all MBA required people with good working experience as you will be doing a lot of case studies; ordinarily you should be able to just read and make suggestions but yours will be weak

In my final year in uni, for some modules we had to mix with students from other course and most of them were mature part time student working in industry, trust me we just felt like fish out of water when some discusssion came up basically went to sleep and some lecturers were really caught up with the mature  students forgetting some of us were still collecting pocket money  cheesy

Another reason why I think it's almost a waste of time is that you are meant to come out looking for middle management or atleast supervisory positions, I wouldnt employ someone with all the papers qualifications in the world over someone with experience

Ive heard this guy several time but unfortunately he only talk sense, his actions or perhaps the action of people around him is suspect. He might be working with very dumb people in his state this guy will make a good commisioner somewhere down south where there are alot of technocracts but a very bad leader up north where
people with family ties get appointed to oversee projects.

And it is very difficult to get private investment in many parts of northern nigeria, the staff, commissioners etc etc
have to go on several 'capacity building' trips and still come out needing more retreat in Dubai to entrench what theyve just learnt!

He said he was informed that the owner of the company was involved in an accident that rendered him invalid, just as he said another company collected N35 million counterpart funds for the IBB Specialist Hospital and did not meet its side of the agreement.
Typical of many nigerian companies- When oga is not around everything comes to a standstill

Why will you wanna do a Masters or even an MBA without work experience?
I'm always amused by people rushing for more paper qualifications without experience
only to come out and fight for entry level roles, in some career it is required but in many you will be
playing catch up with the guys already in the system (those already working)

moved to career

Thomas's hatred of the Nigerian team obviously stems from jealousy because he's always too happy to rub things in when we don't do well. . . if only he'd realise that his team is wayyyyyyyyyy beneath our notice and that's why we don't care to rub in their uselessness. (if you want to be even more annoyed, just read his blog on supersport. . . even worse than on tv where at least he pretends to be unbiased).

Mahmadou's own constant criticism, I think, is more a result of that West African anglophone-francophone thing, in my opinion, because he's always tougher on the anglo teams (like us and Ghana-although he's nicer to Ghana than he is to us) than he is on the francophone teams no matter how wretchedly they're doing.

But as annoying as Mahmadou is, I still prefer him to that other psychopath from Kenya, Mark Ouma, now that one is completely out of his mind!
Please can you provide a link to his blog?

na wa o, are Nigerians not employed as commentators on these african-wide stations, seems they are only employed in nigeria- they even have a blog shocked

Anyone got a link to a nigerian commentators website or blog?

It has become a norm that every Nigerian youth given a visa to any of the big countries abroad comes to nairaland to praise God some peeps even go to the extent of throwing a party for dere friends all in the name of visa.
I got admission into a school in London and luckily for me I have had a dom account for long with a lil above 3000 pounds exchanged in Nov 2008 @ N190/pound, I got ds money from my Dad, when he discharge me after graduation to go sort mysef out and since then no work so I decided to pursue my career abroad and added to d ₤3k to make it ₤4.5k which is half of my tuition to get my unconditional offer. My thinking was dat its goin to be easy to sort mysef out in the UK with d partym job to balance my tuition of ₤4.5k and accommodation. I borrowed money from my friends, inlaws, neibors, brodas, sistas etc to use for my mtce in my account hpin to return it to dem wen issued a visa, den I started gtin very very discouraging news of how hard it is to cope abroad wt d partym job nd school dat I might nt b able to finish d course if m nt careful,dt means my ₤4.5k wl go jst lyk dat.
As God wl have its way,I got a job from a company I ad an interview wt some mnths ago nd av resume since last wk mon,d pay is 150k/mnth which is very sufficient for me as I do nt need to transport mysef to work and wl have lots of savings to invest in my dream project(kp dt to mysef) and I startd praying dt d embasy refuse me a visa which dey did.want to thank God for answering my prayers.

Besides all that have been said, Fahola so far is the BEST leader that has served in Lagos, he has been able to prune the local government chairmen and their cabinet to produce the best result, whether you want to accept it or not, for once in lagos there is democracy that has ORDER, the things Fashola is doing might nnot seem to look like has any considerable impact to some ppl now, but i tell u its a foundation of better things to come.
You mean Local Government chairmen are really performing? Are the budgets going to them as stipulated?

Why cant Fashola speak out against police checkpoint and open extortions in the state
even if they are not under him? There are well know spots in Lagos state where police deliberately collect
money from drivers- speaking openly against this will definitely reduce police extortion!

A guy resides in a Country for 30 hard years, working his socks off, paying his tax and thereby helping building the nation, shouldn't he be given an automatic entitlement to bring his family here? It should not have resulted to this demeaned, disgraceful, shameful and open rebuke from the public had the govt. done her own part.
the govt has done its own part by allowing legal immigrant bring in their family, this guy brought in his daughter who has a family of her own already

Even students studying for only two years are allowed to bring in their family!!

why do i get piffed when people say this, 'come out to denounce this and taht shizzle'

You win the South African professional league you get a cheque of more than a million US dollars. To mention two countries that participated in the Afcon, but the fans at home could not watch their team in the national television because CAF is selling the TV rights through its agent to the tune of almost two millions US dollars. A big country like Nigeria will be charged at lest double.
You mean Nigerian TV companies can not raise $2millipn for the TV rights?
We know they are incompetent but what about SA companies?

The problem with African companies is that they have no long term plan they cant see beyond throwin parties when they get a new OB van like ait did throughout last year!!
These french companies probably bought the right long term knowing full well they can recoup their investment some years later! but Nigerian companies will be playing the tribal card looking for sympathy
