I do not know why some people are so ignorant of what is happening in Kwara state especially those living outside kwara state. To say the fact, there is no evenly development in the state. Some people just conclude that Bukola has developed kwara whenever they enter the state capita(Ilorin)is Ilorin the only town in kwara state? There are other towns in kwara that they can not even boast of any development at all.Bukola only centered his development within ilorin and some few places especially kwara north.  Now,the Ilorin Muslims are now praying against female governor in 2011,why this time?Where were they when Gbemisola was contesting for senatorial post?why did'nt they pray against it then?It is not that am surporting or against it, but the way these Ilorin Muslims are using religion and ethnicity to influence politics to hinder development in the state is my main concern.God will call you to come and save us.
SAME COuld be said about many states in nigeria, it's a developmental pattern especially in developing countries, the capital gets developed first then it spreads outwards- look at lagos, abuja PH etc etc

@ topic. This is the signature on his passport. It doesn't mean this is his bank signature. I have a different signature for my bank a/c (more complex), a different one for other stuff e.g drivers license, I.D cards e.t.c (it is basically my initials and surname to make it easily comprehensible) . I know some people have the same signature for all documents, but most people I have in my family have different signatures for cheques than for other docs. So your theory may be inaccurate. As for him checking in the bomb with his luggage. Do you think that Al-Qaeda wouldn't have tried it if it were possible. The screening that is done on check-in baggage is quite thorough.
exactly

My signature is almost as simple as that, just my name inside the first letter lol
I dont use cheques, i use passwords wink

When people tell bold faced lies and cook up sensational headlines, U cant help but wonder what the motive is. As with this thread, most times it is for ethnic bashing.

Some candidates protested during the debate, feathers were ruffled and voices were heard. But after all said and done, nerves were calmed and the debate went on. Now how does that correlate to the screamer "Anambra cant even organize a simple debate". If thats not ethnic bigotry, then I dont know what is.

Dumb journalist just typed everything he was paid to

The statement said the argument raised by a female contestant in the state that people like Bhutto of Pakistan, Queen Elizabeth of England, among others, are female leaders who had ruled their various countries was not tenable because they are not Islamic states
why didnt he/she acknowledge this is wrong especially that of pakistan

the journalist obvious know who or could easily speculate who this non gorups were refering to he didnt even bother trying to guess

Members of the Kwara State branch of the Supreme Council for Shariah yesterday kicked against the purported move by the highly placed politicians in the state to impose a female as governor of the state come 2011.

Thats valid point but is her current financial status of any benefit for his application? even if the nurse has just bought a flat in new york. the question is can she proove that she can support the application? an investment of $900 is also a pointer to her financial status. so what if she uses all her millions on recurrent expenditure and mortgage, so what proof does she have to say that she can suatain the trip?

I think that he should wait till her financial situation improves

the sad thing is they will attribute it to their stupid pay! even if you are being paid peanuts tehres a certain level of compassion and empathy you should have as a nurse/doctor but MOST of them in nigeria are EVIL they care more about the money

if you complain they tell you oh they are not being paid well, if you want to be paid well go do another job!!!

If $2.600 and another $900 is all your host has to show as her financial circumstance, then, i'm afraid it's just too little for the calibre of a registered nurse in the States.
There's a lot of money in the nursing industry, this makes me wonder whether these figures are true regarding her financial state.
Nurses with their lucrative and reputable jobs are capable of inviting anyone into any country, but with this questionable financial situation of your niece, i advice that you give up the visa application for now until the financial situation improves because, you will not be issued a visa with such bank accounts.
I think it unfairdistasteful to judge someone's financial situation without actually knowing her background or her current situation, have you asked if she fully paid up on her mortgage car children's school fees and people back home? or perhaps she's got regular payment going out for projects back home ? you don't know when she even start working as a nurse; you don't know if she just changed career

think your post should be deleted to be honest!

what do you mean she was being stubborn
you mean she just went to the navy officers and started fighting them?
In the UK there's absolutely no way, anybody will move their car for the navy (i dont even think they use siren)
People don't move their cars for police except they are going for an emergency call and have to move put their siren on, even with the siren on if there's no road there's no road simple! only criminals or drunk people causing public disorder are mazed
what's the point of moving for your car for one idiot going to his guest house?
Only the president/governor/ senate are allowed to use siren

This is not true, he doesn't have to be nominated by a club from his state, all he needs is 2 nominations from the south south, any of the clubs from the south south, it's not a must that it must be a club from his state.

I don't think signing the Zambian coach would have been easy, it will be expensive and their choice of Obuh is the best IMO.
chei nigerians sabi bend rules, does the word south-south exist in FIFA memoradum? south-south,south-east, north-west etc are all political jargons invented after 2003, even in secondary school back then it was only north west and east- we dont need political, tribal hoopla in sports

“From day one I have always maintained that we want to conduct an election that will be envy of all and that will also be a reference point in years to come," Rafua, Team Manager of Gateway FC, said. “FIFA through the Nigeria Football Federation stipulated what is required before elections are conducted. That is exactly what we followed in setting up the guidelines for the election.

“We are dealing with Premier League clubs and not States. There are 20 Premier League club sides in the country. The guideline says you must be nominated by a Premier League side in your state before another club can endorse you from the zone. This particular guideline was debated and ratified by the Congress.

Politics › Re: Anambra State To Hold The First Nigerian Gubernatorial Debate by DisGuy: 2:40am On Jan 27, 2010
so with all the hype did anyone watch the debate? was meant to hold 26th january

http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=165163
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the February 6, 2010 governorship election in Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Hope Democratic Party (HDP) Candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and Action Congress (AC) candidate, Dr Chris Ngige, emerged exceptional speakers in the Anambra Grand Debate for Governorship candidates.
The debate was organised by Anambra Rebirth, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) in collaboration with a coalition of over 27 other organisations in Awka, yesterday.

Criteria for selection of participants include strength and spread of on-going campaign efforts; party following within Anambra State, quality and size of rallies held so far, structure and management of the campaign organisation, availability of candidates for consultation and stakeholders networking, media visibility and coherence, stakeholders opinion surveys; and programme content and articulation.

Those selected were, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)'s Peter Obi, African Democratic Congress (ADC)'s Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu and Labour Party (LP)'s Dr Andy Uba.

The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) candidate, Mrs Uche Ekwunife, was also listed for the debate but was absent.
The debate was meant to create equal opportunities for candidates of all political parties to present their programmes to Anambra electorate and provide an opportunity for the people to feel and assess candidates seeking the office of governor and to challenge candidates to do more thinking on why they want to govern Anambra State and what they hope to do if elected.

Soludo after reading out his record of public service right from his days as a lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), to the presidency and later the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), told the crowd that he was running for the office out of anger that 40 years after the end of civil war, Anambra State, with all its material and human potentials to be African Dubai Taiwan (ADT), is still backward.

According to him, statistics and recent surveys showed that unemployment is on the increase, school enrolment down, with general insecurity everywhere and expressed optimism that he had the plan to renew prosperity in the state.

Chairman of Nigeria Premier League electoral panel Tony Rafua has said that the panel would comply strictly with the guidelines set out and approved by the NPL Congress for the conduct of the elections.
Under the current guidelines, candidates for the elections into the league’s governing body must be nominated by a Premier League club in their state of origin.

This automatically disqualifies current NPL chairman Oyuiki Obaseki as Edo, his state of origin, has no club in the Premier League following the relegation of Insurance FC.

Some people believe he is anti-Nigeria because of his sometimes robust and blunt critics of the administation of our football in the country in particular and Africa in general, while some just think he is the type we need to tell our football administators the truth since most of our our football comentators are not doing it good enough.
