Hndrrxxx:Not only Chelsea fans think so. You are the one driven by emotions. On footballing ability alone, if Arsenal should be a founding member of the Super League then Sevilla and Villarreal might as well be packed into it too. Why can't Arsenal fans accept their team has become a popular midtable club? Liverpool fans accepted theirs without grudge during their travails from 2008 to 2014 or so. |
Jodera:My being a Barça fan was and is still irrelevant to the argument which was about Arsenal's performances/football might as a Super League participant hence I felt no need to mention my club allegiance or ask of his for that matter. Mentioning Chelsea (even when my earlier comments indirectly stated Chelsea are an elite club) when he ran out off points was a defense mechanism to instigate rivalry and force the hitherto 'neutral' readers to align with him as his 'home turf'. That was the point you felt the need to defend him (one of yours) 'cause he made it look like an attack on Chelsea by an outsider. Anybody discerning enough would quickly note the underlying reason he mentioned "I'm a Chelsea fan" out of the blues. |
Jodera:LOL. As predictable as clockwork. He couldn't defend his position on Arsenal's flailing footballing might and when hit hard with it, he goes "I'm a Chelsea fan!" Easy way out even as an unrelated defense because he wants to stoke a reaction - support. Predictably, you or anyone else didn't get involved until he pitched it as a "Chelsea fan versus some other fan" back-and-forth on a Chelsea thread. Here are the facts again: Arsenal are a midtable club and based on their form in years shouldn't be part of any Super League if footballing ability was the singular criterion. But rationality doesn't matter to you, does it, Jodera (- or like the Spanish would pronounce it, Hoedera) ? |
Capaldi:Yes, of course, switch obvious allegiances halfway like a bipolár whöre from Allen Avenue. And who on God's green earth cares if you have Nassarawa United tattooed on your slab-like forehead? The issue is on Arsenal and your footballing allegiances or the lack of it thereof add as much importance to the argument as Somalia offering asylum. |
Capaldi:See? That's one of the downsides of supporting a midtable club - you get angry at every attempt of trolling directed at it even when the served sarcastic meal is spiced with the truth 'cause there's really nothing truly elite about your club to counter with. I could troll a Chelsea fan or a Man. United diehard and he'd either laugh it off or brag about the many things his club has been up to within that stated timeframe 'cause he has it - the Elite Club Mentality. The ESL would make it even worse for Arsenal. Get angry, get mad; Wouldn't change Arsenal getting flogged bad. ![]() |
Capaldi:Well, the screenshot is a better explanation.
|
This drama is freaking interesting! Betrayal, suspense, attack and emotions... Game of Thrones, people! HBO and NetFlix have got a rival in European football. |
Capaldi:I like how you've deliberately avoided the highlighted part about Arsenal's pisspoor footballing might only to focus on the way-too-obvious considerations. Why would I want to watch a supposed super league I know the contenders are unevenly matched? Watch Arsenal flogged with basketball scorelines weekly? Even the fans know the probable results before each game. Based strictly on their on-field footballing might in the last half a decade or more, Arsenal shouldn't be in any Super League. |
Capaldi:"Biggest" doesn't equate "quality", man. If the Superleague in its vague definition is about football teams with giant footballing might on the field of play, why should Arsenal, a leprechaun in comparison, have to rub shoulders weekly? Why should an SSS1 D student rub shoulders with SSS3 A and B students regularly? They don't even file on the same queue on the school's assembly ground. Heck! Arsenal is currently no longer the second biggest football club in London and we all know this. |
Greatihex:Adding Arsenal as one of the prime clubs ruined it. If they really wanted to make it a super league then based on performance, Arsenal shouldn't be there. Arsenal should be having yearly Playoffs with the likes of Everton and Atlanta. But it's about the money and Arsenal have a huge followership. |
Premiumwriter:That's why your websites have bugs crawling all over, are insecure and can't be custom-tweaked to do what you want. Get your web development probably done. |
abduleez1:You definitely aren't a Cule. If you are, you'd know the 2014/2015 era and beyond saw the ditching of Tiki Taka by Luis Enrique. That doubled as the time when some of its last disciples left or retired too: Xavi, Iniesta, Alves and the likes. Luis Enrique focuses more on attacking football and that's what gave birth to the fiercest attacking trio - MSN. When one of the trio left in 2016/2017, Tiki Taka was buried and all the players and coaches brought in since then have been technically unfit to even try it. Little phasing of La Masia cadets with the philosophy into the first team as it has always been. Man. City still plays the closest to that possessive kind of football and if you watch closely, their games are more enjoyable. Tiki Taka isn't outdated - it was forcefully retired and relegated to Barcelona's nostalgic memories, no thanks to the now-disgraced President. |
DuBLINGreenb:About the oil spills and pollution part: You really know the youthful residents of the Niger Delta are neck-deep into illegal oil bunkering and refining, right? If you've ever seen first-hand the environmental damage these boys cause (years back especially), you'd blame them too. |
FBIBOT:Good to see there's another teetotal and straightedged Nairalander. Even for those who aren't religious, there's no rationality behind consuming drugs and/or alcohol. You'd realize years after those who keep pressuring you to do these toxic substances might be like you and commend you for not succumbing to their pressure. Some of them change under religious guises but their ruined internal organs do not. They lose in the end. |
I may be sparingly religious but I'd gladly contribute to the welfare purses of religious organizations which evidently carter for the needy. Expressing love is in itself a religion as I have always believed. |
I wonder why people are acting surprised. If women can suppress their sentience and conscience to abort, they can also kill the birthed ones. Murder is murder regardless of the foetal development stage. A woman who can abort has no qualms murdering you if she can get away with it. Same with men who play active roles in abortions. |
Ishilove:If karma works like it should work then men who haven't caused women to abort for them shouldn't be with women who are abortionists. That's if karma works like it should or there's any sense of justice in the world. I'm no saint nor am I sanctimonious but I know I have been responsible enough not to cause any woman to abort for me. It's only fair that I ask not to be with such women. I'd troll and heckle a man who has caused women to abort but for some reason he's justifying he shouldn't be with such women. Odd that the same men are expecting politicians like Buhari live with the consequences of the country's almost comatose health sector. That's hypocrisy. |
Rocktation:Don't worry about me, Rocktation. My post history and antecedence on this platform are proof enough for any reader to know I never do emotional replies. That's your forte. Feels powerless, right? Hit you with a jab of the truth and you can't fight back the the block button since this section is outside your domain? Like I mentioned, I have seen your pictures and you don't look half as good as the women you so try to put down. For someone who claims not to feel strongly about this topic, you have been all over this thread with close to ten posts all reeking of resentment for other women who are obviously beautiful. I'm a male and I don't need accessories glued to my body to look good. Ironically, you are the one who does make-up contours to make your nose pointier, use eyelashes and hair extensions to look as Caucasian as you can, yet you think yourself a worthy judge to sit on any beauty panel? You think yourself a worthy beauty and fashion critic? Your reasons for choosing the other females over their Nigerian counterparts are evident enough: Skin colour and hair type. Oddly, you are as darkskinned and of the same hair type as the contestants (they look better than you, of course) which ironically is you declaring any fairskinned or light skinned female with straight hair is automatically more beautiful than you and yours would ever be. Even more ironically, females like you complain about men going for lightskinned females (cue MrCôrk trolling materials). Well, this is one justification. Why should we go after females who have declared themselves ugly? I'd remember to reference your posts the next time I'm in the mood to engage any Nairaland female who complains about this. I guess it's justification for me to have nearly always particularly been with fairskinned women over the years. It feels good I didn't go for the "ugly ones (according to you). Trust me, it does. So, here's the summation: You are ugly. Just reaffirming your own thoughts. |
Rocktation:To depict how hurt you are, you had to type a lengthy reply filled with gaslighting assertions and another reply with pictorial 'evidence'. You are the mentally enslaved that your basis of beauty is skin colour and hair type. So psychologically chained that you don't believe anything other than a Caucasian-style straight hair worn long can be beautiful so any black lady who does anything different is inferior. You self-hating racist! We should take it as lighthearted when you insult a black woman's looks for doing something that is uniquely black but when whites or men do it, they are racists and misogynists, right? Different rules for you and the rest of the world, yes? Oh, don't worry, Rocktation - I've seen your pictures and I am lighter-skinned than you are. Still, I don't believe skin colour is a singular basis to judge beauty. You need therapy. No, not that type but a complete reevaluation. You have been conditioned to view beauty from the white person's prism. Same mental slavery which is making even fairer-skinned and silkier-haired Asians in countries which were colonised go for more Caucasian looks. |
Rocktation:Women accuse men of bodyshaming and hatred but you are your own worst enemies. Over the years, men always praise and celebrate Agbani Darego's win but you jealous women keep attacking her needlessly. Agbani was confident enough to go with her natural hair while you racially appropriate Caucasian hairstyles with wigs and weavons. Already you've extended your hatred towards other Nigerian contestants. Same way you all bodyshame female celebrities or attack their looks and self-worth. Attacking them wouldn't improve your looks. It wouldn't increase your self-worth. It wouldn't make you feel less inferior to the many beautiful women out there or the insecurities you feel when you uñdrëss in front of a mirror. And, yes, Agbani and most of the other girls who've represented Nigeria look beautiful, their intelligence regardless. |
JidennaJason:Wait... You're also a Cule? Força Barça! |
AsherAmari:LOL. Lies girls tell themselves. You guys broke up and he brought girls home to fill in; but you were always monitoring to know when he comes home, who is in his car and who he has for company. You still were chatting with his friends. But he never reached out to you or cared about your friends. He never cared who you were with but you knew his business and couldn't get over him like you mentioned. So much that it took you years to start dating again, yet he moved on immediately. You expected him to come begging or be as heartbroken as you were (are even) yet he wasn't. Pray tell, who was the miserable one based on these facts? You! And, here's some truth serum for you- I saw the other comment you made to someone on this thread that you only became a born again after you had dated him. Meaning you were having sex. You really do think I am one of those guys blinded by religion? You think we don't know churchy girls are even more sexually-active? You really do think I care about such religious moral high grounds and sanctimony? Here's what happened: He banged you, you wanted something permanent so, like most girls your age (you certainly were in your early 20's then), tried to manipulate him with the lure of sex, with "Let's slow it down because I don't want sex anymore". He moved on to other girls, you realized your gamble failed and you lost a man you loved due to it so you were heartbroken. You kept monitoring him ever since and keeping tabs on his social circle. I bet you were even always checking up on him on social media even though you had unfriended him. These are predictable tactics. You left too many holes to be punctured. |
AsherAmari:What if he was trying to recover from you and his coping mechanism was being with other girls to forget the heartbreak you both caused each other? He obviously couldn't bring himself to trust and date any so he kept changing them not to be emotionally tied to any like he was to you. He could bring girls home but you bringing different men home would have earned you the "whöre" tag by neighbours so you stayed put for your reputation. Hey, 'cause you didn't date didn't mean you weren't tumbling the sheets with other men. Some girls claim not to have been in any romantic relationship for months or years but deliberately skip the obvious truth that they've been having many sexual encounters with different men. Question is, did you sleep with different men while "you didn't date for all those years"? Not responding to this is an answer in itself. ![]() |
wirinet:Oh, really? I thought anybody who excuses away or ignores the ill-treatment of muslims, other races and citizens of other countries is islamophobic, racist and xenophobic respectively? Ignoring like Trump did is even the lesser wrongdoing than excusing the ill-treatment of Muslim Ughurs just as Biden did. So, there are different rules for different POTUSes(?) ? See what needless pettiness and mudslinging do to you lots? If hypocrisy was a disease, you'd be Patient Zero. I have a vaccine for it though - it's called the truth serum. |
frank10chi:They are the ones on Twitter under web development and computer programming topics giving us CSS cheatsheets and 10 ways to make Javascript solve the world's problems. I mean, if they are so obsessed with coding, they won't have amassed 189,000 tweets in 3 years 'cause they'd be too busy coding. And the ones who really make money from coding are startup execs who assemble coding talents to do most of the 'dirty' work while they monitor final programme executions and interface with clients. The business part and monetising coding matter more to them. |
TonyeBarcanista:You're politically-wh0ring about from one platform to the other. Between 2018 and 2019, you were paid to whitewash and launder Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State's image on Nairaland. Before then, it was Makarfi then Atiku. Now it's Seyi Makinde. Just don't be foolhardy enough to try this on Twitter - nobody there ever forgets your antecedence or antics. |
donjazet:I had to cut out all of your summations to focus on this. Easy with the insults now. We both know my antecedence of going full vitriolic when needlessly antagonised. You'd have to pick your words more politely if we are to debate, as against cursing out 'cause nobody on this thread would be better for it, except, maybe, the fleeting satisfaction in the hilarious disses. You are no test for my political objectivity. You are a faulty gauge yourself as your partisanship is more polar than mine. You're FAR LEFT, while time and again, I have stated I am more of an Independent leaning (slightly) Right because of the horrendous and irrational ideologies of the Left. Here's a reality check: You're not. You, being Left-leaning,are just as fitting a judge of political objectivity as a meter rule is for atmospheric pressure. Heck! A person who kicks against ID as a requirement for voting while it is required for something as relatively mundane as drinking can't sit on any objectivity-judging panel. The 2020 elections were flawed, just like most elections around the world anyway. Mail-in ballots were the undoing of the Right. Non-citizens and illegals could vote and there were many valid reports, even on official platforms, of some persons being mailed ballots twice or dead people receiving mailed ballots. And these non-citizens and illegals sure would go for the party which doesn't care about who enters and leaves the country's borders. But elections, like the law, are about exploiting the loopholes in the system and the Democrats exploited it well. Would the Republicans have done same given the opportunity? I CAN'T swear they wouldn't have. Just like Obama granted accelerated citizenship during his time to game the system. Sometimes, the law is not just or fair, it just operates on available evidence as I have stated. That reason is why certain states like Georgia are now asking for ID before voting but the Leftists are up in arms. It's just a simple requirement. See how being rational feels like? That's the advantage of not being driven by herd mentality. Interestingly, and hypocritically so, folks like you kept chanting the 2016 election was rigged and Russia helped Trump because your candidate lost and the system favoured Trump. Now you quip objectivity. Don't make me laugh. |
donjazet:See? Here's one of the reasons why I stated Nairaland, like Facebook, is an echo chamber. You asked what I think of Biden so far even though you weren't open to dialogue but have a pre-conclusion. Iran and China aren't issues which concern Americans yet CNN and the media made a big deal out of Trump's spat with China? Iran doesn't matter to Americans yet throughout January 2020, CNN was focused on Trump instigating a world war with Iran and how it puts American assets in the Middle East at risk? Seems you folks abuse the luxury of more than 280 characters. That a major Democrat candidate threatened the most influential black female Republican with a KKK hoodie isn't an issue because it exposes the racism the Democrats accuse others of? An issue so big, the Democrats had to issue a public statement and the candidate was forced to drop out? You see why nairaland is an echo chamber? You don't keep abreast with issues as they develop in real time and are too busy repeating yourselves and lost in the cacophony and hate-fueled perspectives that you don't pause to see things from a wholesome view. You want to mention the Coronavirus vaccine which Biden endorsed which has been stopped in some countries because it's causing a rare blood-clotting? Are you arguing to learn, unlearn or relearn, or just to garner fleeting approvals from the less than 20 persons who visit this page at any given time? |
donjazet:Right wingers? I don't think they are fanatical. We both know those who thrive on cancel culture, faux outrage, and racial politics. But there are several middle grounds. Both Democrats and Republicans (including Trump supporters, of course - some Independents) all stood up for Candace Owens when Democrat candidate, Liam O'Mara racially abused her by threatening her with a KKK hoodie. I love that one - everybody finding middle growns once in a while. Anyways, what do you make of the biden presidency so far?Biden... He's goofed on some issues. But he's done some things I like. Like going tough on Iran unlike Obama. Ironically, the Democrats criticized Trump for his tough stance on Iran too but are praising Biden for the same thing. The issues at the border with Mexico are still of concern and there are still several controversies. The media is deliberately downplaying these issues and AOC, who was playacting at the border during Trump's era, has suddenly forgotten where the border is. Biden has literally excused away China's treatment of the Muslim Ughurs. He's practically endorsed China's islamophobia and CNN, AOC, NYT and the likes who infamously slammed Trump with the Islamophobic tag are deliberately looking away. Still too early for a definite Biden scorecard. |
donjazet:Very good, man. Most often than not when one is in the mood for it, Twitter seems to be best online platform for these socio-politico-economic debates/back-and-forths, unlike the echo chambers which are Facebook and Nairaland with less diverse takes, post reach and debators spread across different racial, social and political demographies. |
DubaiLandLord:You are "catching cruise' with tribalism on the frontpage of Africa's largest and most visible forum on the internet. You should be high-fived in the face with a rusted crossbar. |
Drabeey:You were right - she faded. The spotlight dimmed on her. |
