aflynvir: Oga Kelly, how far! Which school are Baden Wattenburg are you schooling! Do you know about University of Freiburg. How nice is the school?
Hey guy! I'm also going to the University of Freiburg by september for an Msc in Geology.

It's a great school according to what I've seen so far, ranked among the top 100 universities in the world (Times university ranking 2013), no 4 in German university ranking, and situated in a beautiful city. Ranked as one of the ten top cleanest cities in the world.

Although I'll also like those in Germany to say more about the school and the city.

Godson, Topeagis, kellytop and all you guys in germany, una don try! If not for the contributions of you guys a lot of people would have made terrible mistakes; including me.

Now its time for you guys to enlighten us on how Germany is like. What should our expectations be in terms of cultural shock, part-time jobs (do some students work overtime?), friendliness towards foreigners, work load at school, etc.

Can Germany be compared to Uk in terms of infrastructures, education, etc?

Any regrets on choosing Germany so far? What would you guys have changed if you had the chance to while still in Nigeria. The pros and cons of studying in Germany as an International student.

Oya let the game begin!!!!!!

And may I even include that I didn't even go to the embassy to certify my documents. I just had a lawyer stamp and sign my transcript because it's a student copy so it doesn't carry the university stamp. I did IELTS though. Didn't apply through uni-assist at all because of the money lol, sent my documents through Nipost at the cost of 300naira per application. It got to Germany within 10days. I know this because I called the schools if they've received them and yes they did within 10 days. The original copy of my admission letters were sent into my post office box 2weeks ago.
Hello house, pls has any one been given admission wit 2.2 before or do u hve idea of any. Pls reply
I guess it's time to address this issue of 2.2 results and stuff. I'll use myself as an example.
I graduated with a 2.2. But that wouldn't hinder me in anyway. I applied into 3 universities and I've gotten admission from two already since two months ago, the third is yet to reply and I don't even need them to lol. I thinks you guys should focus on how to write a motivation letter, that's almost the most important thing. Believe it or not some people's motivation letter sucks! Even if a guy with a first class writes a poor motivational he wouldn't be considered at all. Your motivational letter sums up everything about your I.Q. After I applied I showed some of my friends studying for their masters in the UK my motivational letter, they all said the same thing- "any school that sees this will definitely give you an admission". And yes they did.

pfanen360: So at 11pm we have hope. Please how did they sound were they friendly? Was it on the phone or email?
Appointment has been booked till 20th of August, but they open appointments everyday by 11:01pm. So you can book for August 21st tonight. With regards to friendliness the germans are very friendly and hard working. Send them a mail during working hours and you'll be sure to get your reply in less than 30mins. Very efficient people. But I'd advise us not to take their hospitality for granted. Thanks.

Bwave: This is a serious issue, all appomiemts are now booked till August 20. I wonder if there will be enough time even for those who may get their admission in July. BTW when are these dates being booked because I have been checking that page every hour since five days now and have not been seeing any free space.is there any other way the booking is done?
I did mine yesterday night, and even before then i wrote to the embassy concerning the issue. The trick is this, they open appointments for a new day by 11pm, so try and be online by that time. just have their page open on standby and keep refreshing the page. the competion to book an appointment is fierce but if you do it like i said, you'd come back here to thank me.

To get jobs is nt easy cos of the language stuff.but if u stay in keil u will always get a job @ the long run. Am also in berlin and have nt gotting any job. So to get job is all about been relex is nt the first thing u do when u arrive in germany.. Good luck boss.

To ur second question. I opened my account with the admissiont from keil and applied for visa with the admission from berlin. U can always apply for visa with any admission letter in germany.
Ok now I understand. Thank you very much and I wish you the best in berlin. We should appreciate guys like you who got to germany and still kept the thread alive instead of forgetting about us here, you will definitely get all you wished for and more, amen.

SO JUST PROCESSED WITH UR VISA APPLICATION ABEG..... BUT THE PLACE COLD OO I NO GO LIE U. BUT AS A NAIJA GUY U GO SURVISE NA
Hello topeajis and every nairalander in Germany. I'm the guy who asked about life in kiel with regards to part-time job prospects. Topeagis pls I'll like you to clarify what you said on your reply above. You said you don't know about jobs in kiel cos you have a friend there and he's doing fine. I don't understand this statement pls because the comparison contradicts.

And my second question is directed to anyone with answers, I got an admission from the university of kiel and I want to proceed with visa application which will require the use of my admission letter. Although I applied to other schools in different states also but they are yet to conclude their selection. My question is this, after getting my visa using the university of kiel admission letter is it possible for me to opt for another school when I get to germany? The schools are in different states. Pls I need answers for these. Thanks and God bless.

Hitler invaded russia during a very 'biting winter' and even his generals warned him against it. The weather crippled the german machineries and soldiers, they died from cold and diseases and not by the allied's effort in the war. Germany ALONE technically defeated EUROPE!

ghananotnaija: It's actually free if you're a good swimmer. It seems like you want to go to the West Coast of the United States, say Los Angeles.

Ok, so from Lagos, swim southwest across the Atlantic until you hit South America. Then swim south along the coast of South America until you reach Tierra del Fuego on the southernmost end of South America. Swim through the straight of Magellan until you hit the Pacific Ocean. When you're in the Pacific, swim due north until you hit California. The entire journey will take around 5 years.
