persius555: Letter to general mohammadu buhari (Rtd). Please sir, we nigerians have handed the destiny of this country to your custody.Personally, what will give me joy by the time your govt of change steps in is (1)Make governor raji Fashola the minister of power in your cabinet so that he could help sanitize the power sector as this sector is the backbone of nigerias economy.ICT, SMEs, Telecom, Mining, Automobile, Textile etc all depend on this sector. We have abudant gas, coal deposit, Solar energy to revive this sector. The cabals in the oil industry delibrately kill this industry for their own selfish gains. Revive the power sector and i bet you oil importation emand will reduce by 40 percent and your govt will save billions of dollars that would have gone into subsidy payment. (2)Sanitise the oil and gas sector by (a)Have a four year plan to end importation b4 your tenure expires (b)Approve the passage the PIB bill in earnest (c) Give out more oil refining license. Your honorable presido, this is all i ask for. And I,Odion endorse this missive. |

otr1: It is you who don't understand the difference between stupidity and courage. What ND militants have displayed over the years is stupidity. There is oil spill in your land and you are still blowing up pipelines. You don't worsen an already bad situation and claim you have courage. Your water wells are now oil wells. No good potable water, no farmland, and almost all the fishes in your rivers are dead. All your over paid praise singers you call militants warlords now have billions but wouldn't invest on your land- in readiness to destroy what's left so they can have money to their pockets while you people die of NA bullets, poverty and hunger. While you people are blowing up yourselves, who are the ones advocating resource control? Don't imagine the Yorubas are the ones occupying ND. We would've got at least 50% derivation without shooting a gun. Where were you people when the yorubas were fighting wars, taking up lands and establishing empires? In your caves? You people are so lucky the whitemen came just on time, otherwise, most part of your region would've been under the Yorubas by now. The era of killing oneself to prove a point is gone. We are not barbarians. I know when writing the history for the struggle for democracy, only one tribe will come at a distant first. All you people did-and still doing without success- is fighting only for yourselves. And how are we slaves to the Northerners? Isn't that term the befitting for you people? We both take directly from you and all you could do is fight yourselves. Continue your senseless fight ok? As for us, we do not have anything else to fight for right now. If and when we have a reason to do so, I hope you people will learn one or two things. 3 Gbosas!!! for you |

[quote author=Flets post=31963568]How do we avoid the impending dangers to Nigeria’s economy and existence under a Buhari presidency? We must need to face reality as there is no magic in governance. Extremely hard times lies ahead for this country if Buhari ever emerges victorious.
How do you explain to a Niger Deltan that despite GEJ's achievements in almost all sectors, roads, bridges, railways, agriculture, automobile, alamajiri schools, new universities, fertilizer and ghost worker scam elimination, freedom of press, FOI, free and fair elections, power sector. .........etc, he is still booted out.
What will stop the creeks from going haywire again? Buhari will send the troops to the creeks and together they will set the oil facilities ablaze. OBJ's use of JTF force could not help as no Oil producing company will risk producing crude and killing staff in a volatile region. GEJ under Yaradua had to get down to the creeks to to talk to these boys and effect the amnesty program because they found him as a representation in government.
It will be impossible to convince a ND minority albeit a militant that their own was not persecuted out of office. And that will be the theme of their new struggle. The long term solution to this mess is implementing the Confab report and enthroning true federalism.
A lot of opportunities are springing up around Africa and the IOCs are already geared towards investing in these newer and saner climes than invest in an unstable Niger delta . And while these troubles persists, the oil producing companies will simply withdraw their personnel from the volatile region and all foreign investments will seize in all sectors.
Unfortunately, even if the Nigerian troops kill 90% of the militants, it will take just one militant, a dynamite and just one strategic location along the multi- kilometer trunk lines to continue to wreck havoc to the Nigerian economy.
Fast forward to 2019, if we remain one country and without a civil war,, we will be an economic wreck with no allocations and salaries, no capital projects, no hope with dollar exchanging for 400 naira and we are worse off than we were in 2015.
Cos the truth is that without crude proceeds for now, Nigeria is finished.
And then, we'll be screaming another 'Change' because we would have learnt a bitter lesson in the hands of the Fulanis, Tinubu and Saraki. And then we will ask.... Why were we this silly?
And before you quote me, make sure you outline in clear terms how you or Buhari will avert this obvious calamity staring us in the face Only last week, they creek boys seem to have resumed activities by kidnapping at Yoho facility operated by Exxonmobil and have shut in 80KBD already. Are we ready for this for the next 4 years?
The entire world stands to benefit from a crisis in the Niger delta. Its not a coincidence that USA who abandoned us at the height of bokoharam is busy shouting for change in govt . Crises in the ND will reduce supply of crude to the Oil market and that would drive up the price of crude for producing countries.... But at Nigeria's expense.
Is Buhari is any way a better Democratic president than GEJ? Is this risk worth it? N Nigerians.... Be Warned!!![/quoteN Old boy leave story. All this threat na wash. All these agbero don see mini chop. If shout too much na to continue their yeye pipeline protection contract and you go see them do round about turn. Ask yourself how many sustainable investments boyloaf, tomopolo, asari get for Niger Delta that benefits the indigenes directly?name the bursary, scholarship, research centres...wet in I dey yan sef, mention one standard primary health care in one local govt these thugs built with all the billions given to them to calm them down?Nuffiiiiin! Threat na water.leave story. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: India Students Caught 'cheating' In Exams In Bihar by donodion(m): 12:40pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
Sombrerogalaxy: Cheating in exams is fairly common in the Indian state of Bihar, but new images have emerged which show just how large-scale and blatant the practice is.
Many students smuggled in textbooks and notes into the examination centres despite tight security - and parents and friends were photographed scaling the walls of test centres to pass on answers to students during the current secondary school examinations.
The examinations, held by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), began on Tuesday and are scheduled to go on until 24 March. Officials say more than 1.4 million students are taking the tests.
Most of the incidents of cheating this year have been reported from Saharsa, Chhapra, Vaishali and Hajipur districts.
Local newspapers have been full of photos of parents and relatives trying to help their children cheat even at considerable risk to their own lives, BBC Hindi's Manish Saandilya reports from the state capital, Patna.
Some photos even show policemen posted outside the centres accepting bribes to look the other way, our correspondent adds. Lovlllllllllll |

jpphilips: Listen to yourself you bloody mediocre, we have to remember the militants because your dumb CIC went to bribe them against a total annihilation?
I don't blame you, Jonathan has reduced this country to a land of criminality and incompetence. Let me ask you, do you have any idea what Yaradua' s contingency plan for the militants was? When he rolled out his carrot and stick approach, do you know what the stick was?
By the time yaradua finished shopping for the Navy, Nigeria had one of the best navy in Africa, talk about light crafts and OPVS, we even manufactured most of them.
The arrival of the 60pcs stealth Catamarans showed that Yaradua meant buisness. Ingenuity of a dying man on his sick bed, yet a full fledged Jonathan started Shopping for Boko haram just last year, 5yrs after Boko has run amok, of course when he was convinced it had nothing to do with politics just like you are dumbly mistaken.
Who are the so called militants? Rag tag militia of less than 1,000 fighters? Bloody cowards who could not stand an open confrontation with the navy on the streets of Portharcourt and Yenegoa? Cowards who take solace in blowing up unguarded and isolated pipelines in the bush, you call a threat? there was no political will to annihilate them it is that simple, where will the political will come from? when Amnesty guarantees choppings for both the government and the rogues.
let me be very frank with you, if Jonathan had failed in that Amnesty negotiations, Yaradua would have sent a very strong message, by now the likes of Boyloaf will be mere ashes floating on the Niger delta river.
An ordinary 32year old Gowon humbled the Biafrans with the right political will, Shagari humbled the maitatsine, Abacha conquered the Sierra Leonean military rebels, then a dumb Jonathan tells you that Boko Haram is APC. shame on you!!!. Gbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam! |
