You seem lost. This thread is about the 5G demo/trial MTN carried out at their Maitama, Abuja regional HQ on Monday, not about 4G.

Stop posting ignorantly. NCC granted MTN 5G spectrum to run trials. If you go to the head office of MTN in Abuja, you will see a couple of 5G antennas on the roof top. There were there up on till yesterday, unless they have been taking down after the successful 5G demo yesterday.

Turn off background activities for those apps. Even when your phone is supposedly idle, those apps run in the background and consume a lot of data. This is what most people don't know.

Also, if you hotspot your phone to your pc or use a MiFi and you are on Windows 10, set your connection as a "Metered Connection". That way, Windows 10 updates don't run automatically. Reason being that Microsoft removed the ability to disable Windows updates on Windows 10.

N3,500 had 6.5gb data allowance, now it's 10GB.
N5,000 had 11GB, now 15GB.
N10,000 had 25GB, now 40GB.
N15,000 had 40GB, now 75GB

My mtn sim just started showing LTE all of a sudden. It was always on 3G for the past years. Before now I have been planning on getting a 4G sim from mtn. I tried to call the customer care rep but I got tired of being on hold.

Yes, your sim is already 4G. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution, also known as 4G. To confirm that your sim and device are 4G enabled, text 4G to 131.

Glo's band 3 has been available in Ibadan since last year. In fact, it was the first city it was deployed.

It's called virtual Sim technology. Though the more popular one is called eSIM, which is available in some countries. Unlike SIMO that can only be used for data, eSIM can be used for text, voice and data, just like the regular physical Sim.

It's common on Windows 10 because you can't turn off automatic updates. To prevent such from happening, just set all your WiFi connections as metered, that way, automatic updates won't happen.
