TV/Movies / Re: HiTV's Programme Repetition Is Driving Me Crazy! by Eastcoast(f): 7:49pm On Aug 16, 2007

Politics / Re: Oprah Winfrey Is Tripping! by Eastcoast(f): 12:54am On Aug 15, 2007
Do you all realize that your criticizing the "queen of all media"? How can she do any wrong? You realize many middle class women are worshipping at her feet. Just kidding, but it has been a while since I last read or heard any negative criticism of her.
Travel / Re: Pictures Of The Uk by Eastcoast(f): 2:47pm On Aug 08, 2007
O my gosh, na wa for all the comment this simple thread has generated. Having said that, i believe that the last time I checked, there was freedom of speech and expression of opinion. If you don't like this thread, everyone is free to read something else. Afterall, there are approximately 60,000 other topics to comment on or at least read that may appeal to you. I looked at all the pictures on this thread and I must confess, I found them quite interesting.
Fashion / Re: The Typical African Female Body Shape! by Eastcoast(f): 6:07pm On Aug 06, 2007
please tell me your kidding when you say "typical african female body shape". This is in no way or form the "typical" shape. Can't you tell that some talented person has photoshopped the image. Just look at the ratio of the waist to the hips and you would see that it was modified.

TV/Movies / Re: New Dawn With Funmi by Eastcoast(f): 10:58pm On Jul 19, 2007
I dont watch the show but i'm a keen reader of her blog. She updates it regularly and on topics of her personal interest like travel, politics et al. Here is a link: www.fiyanda..com. Did I forget to mention she is a good writer?
TV/Movies / Re: That Ophra Documentary On Mugus And Nigerian by Eastcoast(f): 1:06am On Jun 28, 2007
I watched that episode. It was a while back. They focused on the whole online scam issue done by nigerians and featured some innocent victims of these online fraudsters. Ofcourse, it was very heart-breaking to watch while they kept repeating the words "Nigerians" inadvertently. At the end of the show, Oprah, the "queen of daytime television", obliged Nigerians by saying not all Nigerians are "419ers".
Health / Re: Being A Vegetarian? by Eastcoast(f): 1:54am On Apr 08, 2007
To substitute for the protein in animal products, i guess you should include lots of soy in your diet. Tofu, soy milk etc are good alternatives.

is there a webiste for galaxy tv or STV even? undecided

Well STV has a website that isn't informative about the shows they air; however, they have their channel online but you need to subscribe to it. Here is a linkhttps://www.jumptv.com/en/channel/SilverbirdTVNigeria/
Fashion / Re: How Do You Eliminate Fat Tummies? by Eastcoast(f): 11:23pm On Mar 22, 2007
Monitor your diet: portion control, portion control, and portion control. Do a lot of cardio exercises to get rid of the fat that covers your stomach muscles. thirdly, do lots of sit ups, and crunches to help tone and define those muscles. And if all of that fails which probably won't happen if your commited, you gotta suck it up. Yes, suck in your stomach but still continue to breath.

Romance / Re: Anything Wrong With Gold As A Gift? by Eastcoast(f): 9:31pm On Mar 14, 2007
There's absolutely nothing wrong in doing that but have you heard "Diamond is a girl's best friend". Try giving her some rocks.
Politics / Re: Atiku Injured, Flown To London For Treatment by Eastcoast(f): 4:10pm On Mar 12, 2007
I'm not surprised that he got injured while working out. Afterall when last did he visit the gym. Who would even believe that he actually exercises. I'm really angry at this news. Why does he have to be flown abroad. It just shows that they don't even trust our health care system. The most annoying part of it all is that these men go abroad all the time yet, they ain't doing anything to bring the technology, political, and economical systems from overseas to naija.

TV/Movies / Re: Real World Denver On Vh1: What Do U Guys Think? by Eastcoast(f): 10:15pm On Mar 03, 2007
I really think brooke is crazy. What has really gotten into her? I guess she needs to sign up in an anger management program. THey are all just there. I kinda like them all. You know what, I really can't wait to see how they would perform in one of these challenge shows like the duel, freshmeat. that kinda stuff.
Sports / Re: American Football Is Better Than Soccer! by Eastcoast(f): 1:14am On Mar 03, 2007
i think itz more of endurance VS strength.
Food / Re: Mcdonalds In Nigeria: I'm Loving It! by Eastcoast(f): 12:57am On Mar 03, 2007
@Lephillpe, Your really amazing me, How many people would be able to afford the hundred naira menu? if i order cheese burger, small fries and drink from the dollar menu, it would be an equivalent of about 300 naira excluding tax.
Food / Re: Mcdonalds In Nigeria: I'm Loving It! by Eastcoast(f): 6:50pm On Mar 02, 2007
@Lephillpe, Do you think nigerians would be able to afford mickydee when it arrives? How many people do you think would be able to walk in for breakfast, lunch, dinner? I don't think there prescence would really make any difference in the restaurant industry. Don't we already have many cafes and foreign restaurants? Yet, we can count how many people actually go in.
Travel / Re: Why Do Lagosians Go Home On Crowded Buses? by Eastcoast(f): 6:46pm On Mar 02, 2007
I think the same is kind of true in many parts of the world. Even where I live. Although the metro/bus system is good, the train is usually crowed during rush hour. People stand up holding railings, squashed together and stuff. If you think molue is crowed, i wonder what you would say about Japan's trains.
Nairaland / General / Re: No Nigeria Musician In United States. by Eastcoast(f): 3:16pm On Mar 01, 2007
what kinda waves are they making? I guess they are making waves in the nigerian community. I willl know they are making big waves when their music is being played on the radio stations and loved in da ghetto.
Sports / Re: American Football Is Better Than Soccer! by Eastcoast(f): 3:13pm On Mar 01, 2007
Most people don't realize that most NFL players are very tough, strong, versatile. Despite the weight of those pads etc, they are still able to maintain very fast speed.
TV/Movies / Re: I Think Our Film Writers Should Try And Be More Creative by Eastcoast(f): 12:58pm On Mar 01, 2007
@mufkina, if you can't wait for nollywood to develop, there's no better time than now to pack your loads and come audition in hollywood. There are so many casting calls going on now so don't wait. I don't know any other way i can put it but the last time i checked, movies with storylines about africa was the biggest thing on the block right now. SOoooo, you don't have to worry abt accent.
Culture / Re: What Are You Doing To Make Nigeria Better? by Eastcoast(f): 12:53pm On Mar 01, 2007
I like the topic. I realy do agree with what tassmal is saying. I think It is abt time for we nigerians to start stop asking what nigeria can do for us but what we can do for nigeria.
Sports / Re: American Football Is Better Than Soccer! by Eastcoast(f): 1:54pm On Feb 28, 2007
This topic is so funny. Men, I used to be an extreme lover of soccer. Like wow, my family was even getting scared at my love of the game. Then, all of a sudden, i moved to the fast past world of america and my life made a 360. I love FOOTBALL, the game is so amazing. In my opinion, it is more entertaining than soccer, something is always going on, either the qb just threw an interception, Defensive lb just sacked the qb, punt returned for td, or the game is on the line and you need theĀ  kicker to make a 60 yard field goal for the win. Something is always going on. Unlike soccer where they just keep passing the ball and turning it over and over for 90mins. Since i discovered football, its been ver difficult for me to enjoy my first love.
Celebrities / Re: Is Derele Gay? by Eastcoast(f): 9:21pm On Feb 27, 2007
He may not be gay but in the normal world, his style is kinda like a drag queen; but, he doesn't really give up that drag queenish attitude.
TV/Movies / Re: The Oscars 2007 by Eastcoast(f): 7:44pm On Feb 26, 2007
@blue nubian,
yes ooo, Those shadow dancers were very good. They are truely talented. I liked when they formed that bus pushing scene from Lil' miss sunshine. I was just like wow, so people can really contort their body in such unique shapes. It must take alot of practice.
TV/Movies / Re: The Oscars 2007 by Eastcoast(f): 2:25pm On Feb 26, 2007
@blue nubian, i agree with you o. Ellen was amazing. She was so easy going, relaxiing and natural. She wasn't like some of the past host that make their gigs look obviously scripted by a writer. As for the awards itself, i was dissappointed that Eddie Murphy didn't win in his category. That was a big upset. He was everyone's favorite to win. Did y'all watch the sounds and effect choir, wow, they were spectacular. I didn't know it was people that make all those sounds. As for the red carpet, I think it was kinda boring. No one really took a big risk or anything like that.
Food / Re: Mcdonalds In Nigeria: I'm Loving It! by Eastcoast(f): 9:33pm On Feb 24, 2007
Wow, that is good to know. But come to think of it, Mr. Bigg's is very good enough. I don't think we need Mikky Dee in naija rather, we need restaurants that would sell our local delicacies to the world. Why must we always import all these western cultures?
