I asked you a specific question. How do you know the poster isn't a scammer? Do you know him personally? Or are you the poster operating under a different moniker?

And why bring God into it? Are you an emotional blackmailer too?

Another angle to it

You have high expectations however you do not wait for them to be met.

Everyone need this drive to succeed /excel.
It's relative.

I don't wait forever for them to be met. For example, why wait one week for something to get done if I can do it in one hour? D'you get me now?

Well done. Slow and steady is the way. Actually, its been same with me....was never even big from the time i began trying to loose weight. I am always weight conscious so i dont get to that point where it looks hopeless loosing it. Used to be a size 8 top and 10 down but suddenly i got to 10 up and before i knew it, i was heading to 12 down, that was when i knew i had to do something drastic. I bought only 2 size 12 pants and kept repeating them cos i knew i wasnt gonna remain there for long. Again, knowing that i had nothing to wear was enough motivation to work hard so i can wear my clothes.

So, here i am, almost totally back to comfortable size 8 top and i am back to my 10 down, although the scale keeps showing what suits it. Not bothered witb its reading anymore really.

Meanwhile, i ordered 2kg weights from amazon this week and they are here...lol

How will you balance responsibility and expectations?

E.g.: A parent should sponsor his/her ward into school etc.

Cc: cococandy, sagamite, babygirlfl
Interesting conversation and varied personal views so far. My two penny's worth:

I think there is a very fine line between responsibilities and expectations. Being a fiercely independent "go-getter" person, my expectations in life - of myself, and of the people closest to me are VERY HIGH.

When I want something, I don't sit around waiting for someone else to do it for me. Not even my spouse. I haven't got the patience for that. I'm more of a snap-snap-snap kind of person and I find time wasting really, really, annoying. I don't believe some things are un-achievable. When someone tells me I can't do something, I make it a point to prove them otherwise. I'm of the school of thought that if you want something really badly, you'll find a work-around to it. If you aren't mentally incapacitated, you'll find another route.

I teach my kids (sons) to grab every opportunity life presents them with as that chance might not be there tomorrow. I also drum into them "actions-and-consequences". I don't, balk at taking on responsibilities. In fact, I have very broad shoulders for these and pride myself on taking on a vast array of challenges - financial, emotional, physical, and spiritual. I have no qualms bending over backwards to provide for those dependent on me, but I do find it irritating if I'm taken for granted. I wouldn't do that to anyone and therefore wouldn't expect that to be done to me.

Do I come across as overbearing? perhaps. But do I get the job done? I sure do!

What's the point in staying in a room you can't pay for?

Why not look for someone ( friend or family) to squat with, relocate or even get someone to squat with you?

Right here on NLD, people are looking for someone to squat with temporarily and pay for that.

So how will u feed, pay utilities and most importantly do after 3 months?

Nigerians are gradually embracing boldly, the idea of e-begging. You lock up inside house, dey refresh thread on NLD and at same you are " ashamed?"

johnny1980:
Aside religion. Let me answer your question. This does not mean I support or oppose polyandry.

Consider a woman getting pregnant in such a situation. Who would claim the paternity of the baby?

I know you would call for DNA testing but who would cater for the needs of the mother and baby till she delivers and is ripe for a test. The confusion and complications is enough to cause big problems for such relationship.

We can all argue about equal rights or not. But the fact is we were created differently and you can't always reverse roles and find such befitting to hear of. It is that simple.
What is good for the goose, doesn't necessarily mean it would be good for the gander. He may he eat and choke on it.

Polygamy in marital setting can be practical but polyandry would definitely cause issues when child rearing and other things is broached on. A lady can be in an open relationship with numerous partners but in an "ideal marital situation", it would be simply impractical or hard to pull off naturally.

You guys just argue like secondary school kids. Positing points without facing reality. Polygamy is a form of marriage recognised by virtually almost all cultures of the world. I don't know of the other but it would be a case of you burying your head in a heap of sand by equating polygamy to prostitution.
If a woman can find two men who would agree to polyandry. Then, all fine and good.

I guess if you guys had your way in all these "silly equality talks" ( I support equal recognition of both genders strengths and weakness based on confined physical and emotional structures but the borderline anything a man can do , a woman should be given rights to do such) you would soon advocate for corrective surgeries to give guys wombs so they can also start carrying babies like women do. Equal rights innit?
You're hardly in a position point fingers and name call when your ill-informed post is no better than a primary school kid's.

Go on google and research Polyandry. You'll get a lot of information on where it's practiced - in the past and present (modern day).
FamilyRe: Bimbo Ayelabola Gives Birth To Quintuplets In London, Gets Let Off £145k Bill by EfemenaXY:
mutter:
Nothing special about it. Many women that have access to medication and are desperate would do the same thing.
It sounds normal to me. Women go to great lengths to have a child . That`s why you have surrogate mothers and so many other options.
Now are you also condemning the desperate act of a sad woman wanting to get pregnant. You just are not being fair to this woman.
She can birth a million and one kids for all I care - as long as I, and other taxpayers funding the system don't have to pick up the tabs. Why should we? Being forced to do so is unfair.

It`s not okay but it`s not criminal. So how many of those people have their names and pictures published?
It is criminal. Why else do you think she's been banned for five years from returning to the UK? (Too little, too late).

Five years is nothing. She ought to be banned for life! We don't want her parasitic ilk sniffing around.

mutter:
Obviously you are in the minority with this view. If the British Government shared this opinion she would have been in jail. As I explained earlier your tax account is still probably in minus.
Goodness me! Can't you even pretend to think laterally - just for once?

Her being in jail would cost us even more. i.e: The British taxpayer footing the bill for holding her in prison + the taxpayer paying for Social Services to take her kids into welfare. So now, even though jail sounds nice for her, it's a lot cheaper on the taxpayers' pockets to send / deport the silly cow back home with her brood.

Now in response to your rant, my tax payments, are what's enabled your scamming sister receive top-notch, world class premium health service. My tax payments are what's helped fund the complex C-Section that saved the ingrate's life and her quintuplets. My tax payments are what's helped fund the seven week Neo-natel treatment her premature babies had. What do your people's taxes (assuming they pay up in the first place, if at all) fund in your country? Apart from lining the pockets of your thieving leaders??

mutter:
NO comment it is beginning to sound like a cracked record lipsrsealed
You haven't got a leg to stand on here and you know it!

mutter:
and your Government has been aiding and abating that!! And because a woman is owing a debt you are now the self appointed ambassador.
Oh yeah?

So we should take the blame of your "leaders" not being able to discern right from wrong?? And yet you've got imbeciles running your country?? How convenient - passing the buck to someone else. Never taking responsibility for your actions. But then again, it must be a Nigerian thing, never taking accountability, but wallowing in self-pity, according blame, and playing the victim.

mutter:
You need to disclose to me your nationality and your interest in Nigeria before we continue on this line. The issue of giving passport are all regulated by international laws and policies and not by what you think.
I don't have to disclose anything to you, lady. When a thief comes in to rip off our system, you can be sure it'll generate interest. Or what did you expect? That we should keep schtum?? Sorry, there is something called "freedom of speech" - I don't expect you to grasp that concept - but that's how we operate over here.

mutter:
How insolent for you to speak of clamoring for independence. A people held captive want to be free. Is that not the most natural thing. You have real issues.
It may be vomit but certainly not ours.
Hear! Hear!!

And how obnoxious of you to defend the indefensible. Tell me something, do you view the world through rose-tinted glasses, Mutter??

The incorrigible leaders you voted in power are the ones holding you and your people captive. How does scheming your way back to your colonial / one-time slave masters constitute "independence" or freedom??

mutter:
I have no intention of beating the system but of suing it. Maybe I just might think of coming to take up a job there and doing just that.
So what are you waiting for? Hope you'll be paying for your solicitors out of your own pockets. Or will the British taxpayers have to fund your state appointed brief - to sue our system??

I don't know what you've been smoking today, but I gotta give it to you - whatever it is, it is GOOD! grin grin grin

mutter:
Now isn't this the joke of the year!! You have one of the most lousy social systems, most lousy health systems, most lousy educational systems!! You don`t look after nobody. Foreigners are more charitable in Britain that you guys are. ( come I hope it`s not just because you have that little book you claim to be..)
Really?

~ How many Brits do you find lined up at the Nigerian High Commission from the wee hours of the morning, seeking Nigerian visas?

~ How many Brits have you got running after / seeking admissions in Nigerian schools? Or desperate to obtain Nigerian "qualifications"??

~ How many Brits do you see at your Social Services office, regaling officers with world-class lies, in a desperate bid clamouring for benefits funded by the TAXPAYER?? Oh hang on, you haven't got a welfare system in place, have youhuh

~ What's the Nigerian equivalent of the Red Cross, Mutter?

Heck!! And you still expect more for nothing? You've totally redefined the word JOKER, I'll give you that.

mutter:
Being a slave is better than being a free born with the mentality of a slave. I think in future all Nigerians need to apply to you for instructions on where to give birth.
The message is simple. If you can't pay up, then stay the hell away. Why is that so difficult for you to comprehend??

mutter:
Kasper!! I don`t need to know there, thats the advantage of being informed. I hope you also know a bit more about the world than that tiny Island you live on.
That tiny island is where your people aspire to be, and would think nothing of killing / conducting the most atrocious activities to get there. They would literally sell their souls to the devil to get "papers". Yes??

mutter:
Okay, i leave this to be commented on by Nigerians who live there. Ridiculous.
And I think you should keep quiet. You've done more than enough for one day to embarrass your people. Those that understand the difference between right and wrong.
