aderadio1:Emi kii she ibo ologbeni. All of us can't sleep and face same place. I can't celebrate evil as most of you do |
AdeoyeAdefemi:Integrity,Integrity and again, Integrity |
aderadio1:Na you mention president, no be me |
If you have dollar in your account , thinking you'd wait until it gets to 1k before you start selling, do the needful now. Don't come here and be telling us you're contemplating suicide oo. As you don chop small in the last 2 months, better jettison that dollar sharply cos its falling yakata already. |
obembet:OP, why didn't you include my cousin Tosin Eniolorunda? |
LagosFirstSon:All tribes do all,.including drugs and rituals. No tribe is clean of these vices. |
He will go and eat beans with governor Dapo abiodun 's aide who committed a similar offence, but now in USA prison. The idiot would have been a federal law maker today, representing Ogun but thank God, the long arm.of the law caught him at the nick of time. These are the calibre of people holding sway in the national assembly. Awon abaniloruko ję eeyan. Only God knows what gave these people the shameless boldness to steal such a huge sum. I'm sure he didn't start today. He must have been doing this for long. The below are the calibre of people ruling us, which is why Nigeria isn't moving forward as expected: Drug barons Fraudsters Thieves Ritualists Islamist terrorist and sponsors. The above include governors and federal law makers This country needs cleansing before we can get things right. If you call it revolution, na you sabi. |
I remember when he wanted to play for Nigeria and they played their usual politics. Playing for Togo made you even more popular, guy. Waa gbayi. Adebayor is worshipped like an idol in Togo, even bagged their national award and plenty chieftaincy titles. Prophets aren't truly appreciated in their country |

Wodu89:Stop spamming everywhere with your incoherent posts. Are you aware Niger people loved the military take over? That's what should sink. If the citizens are saying they don't need external forces, that their president must go, what's ecowas business with that? How many Ecowas forces invaded Nigeria when buhari took over power by coup? Or how many of them are in Nigeria fighting boko haram for us? Mark this space, they won't do anything in Niger than hold talks. Niger is not a state in Nigeria or an extension of any African country. Its a souvereign state like Nigeria. A voluntary organisation like Ecowas can't dictate to the people of Niger how they want to live their lives. Have you ever wondered why the Nigeria former leaders are keeping quiet over the matter? Tell tinubu to be careful cos once the war starts, he'd know that Niger is an extension of northern hausa-fulanis. Mention one single northern elder who's in support of the Ecowas planned invasion of Niger? Make dem no shaa come bomb our 3rd mainland bridge oo. Cos Niger people fit retaliate they're everywhere in Nigeria. Tinubu can run to France in one of his private jets but where would you run to? |
Liar. You either landed in the hands of the wrong guy or you're not a well-behaved wife or both. |
Kenmatt:That moment was when we had good players. We tried in USA 94. That victory was sure for us but cos of Inexperience, they allowed Roberto Baggio pemetrate. We'd have gone far. You can't compare the orwsent day spier chickens with the old eagles. Mind you, that Olympic you mentioned featured same players would find in the world cup tournaments. They were all there, complete . |
Racoon:Ronaldo cried that day. He couldn't help but displayed his wonderful incisors for the whole world to see. He no sabi cry at all . They couldn't believe it. I wouldn't know how true. I learnt their coach warned them about Nigerians. That they must not give up till the last whistle was blown, that Nigerians were good in dying minute magic, judging from Saudi '89 performance and the rest. I watched Saudi '89 on our black and white tv ![]() The coatch later reminded them of what he said about Nigeria after we beat them, lol. We stopped enjoying super eagles performance the moment they introduced politics into the national team. Na celebrity players we get today, those who can book a Jersey slot at any price, just to participate sell themselves to good clubs during tournaments. Eagles used to be pride of Africa, then Cameroun and Ghana |
Racoon:Hmmm! I remember Batistuta. You must be superhuman to dribble past that guy |
I remember this day inside the student's common room as an undergraduate. I was so annoyed that I left for my hostel to catch some sleep after we were down with goals. It wasn't up to 10 mins when we scored the first goal. I jumped up and ran back after I heard goalll, the 3rd time...and the rest was history. First African team in history |
libertyfather:Tinubu's subsidy removal plan is a good example of putting a cart before a horse. The approach was so irrational. Had someone else committed this blunder, Tinubu would have sponsored protests across lagos and invited the press. I wonder why they call us giants of Africa yes, we don't lead by example. I remember the GSM days too when an ordinary okada rider was using a set in Benin Republic and Nigeria was still using nitel phone box in their homes. Innovative ideas have been emerging in Kenya and some African countries lately ahead of Nigeria. |
Racoon:He mortgaged the country by exposing Jonathan's corruption while in office as cbn governor abi? He remains one of the best cbn governors in the history if Nigeria. Say something else |
Mynd44:A sovereign state is finished? Are they part of any country's territory or are they waging war against any nation? What did ecowas army do when Buhari and his colleagues took over power in the 80s? You guys should stop being emotional. Niger citizens say they liked the move by their military cos their leader was super corrupt. You can't understand them better if you're not a citizen of Niger |
Is governance by certificate? Smh! |
Image123:Rescuing currency with usd isn't only a Nigerian practice. It's done in all dollar-driven economies globally. The onus is on the leader of that country to monitor the disbursement and place a heavy sanction on erring agencies or banks. Across Europe, there's an agency called Travelex. There are others too who act like the bureau de change and sell fx to those who need them. I've bought usd and euro from Travelex in France, Germany and Switzerland in the past at their airports, Dubai too. There was a time they came to Nigeria. But here, corruption may not allow this to work effectively but in a way, it would strengthen the naira. The federal government should reach out to registered bdc as they did in the past when the pdp was in power and allocate fx to them for sale to the public and monitor compliance. There was a time in this country when usd was almost same in rates both at the official and parallel markets. It was because bdcs were allocated fx constantly. Doing this will strengthen the naira and put less pressure on it. I hope the dollar crashes further cos I've got loads of fx transactions to make. I've been waiting since June. |
oloriooko:I'm not a fan of Tinubu and his visionless apc party but I bought dollar at 810 at Allen avenue around 4pm yesterday. I hope it crashes further because it will favour us the more. These speculators are the problem of the fx market..what Tinubu should do is pump more dollars to stabilise naira, if he has the balls to do so. Western policy introduced is killing Nigerian economy. He's such a visionless leader . What the Nigerian economy is going through right now is as a result of dictates from the west. |
BoldBrainz:CCIE isn't in Africa yet. Its a lab-based IT certification, the closest region where you can take it is Dubai. Anyone holding that would first find out why the former employee leflt his/her position. They don't struggle to get employed and they're indispensable. There's another one from Holland who's at NLNG at bonny. That one earns 8m naira plus monthly, excluding other benefits. Stop acting like an illiterate. There are some comments you keep quiet over, if you don't understand how to respond. |
BoldBrainz:You want to replace expatriates with who exactly? Are they civil servants? I know one of them who possessed a CCIE. Do you know how though it is to bag it and the cost implications? How many Nigerians had that, still living in Nigeria? I've never found one. You talk like an illiterate. I'm sorry to say. |
Hmmm. Expatriates are now protesting too? This is unprecedented. Tinubu gaffes big-time. An economic policy of unification of fx in less than 3 months is now setting Nigeria backwards . I wonder what would happen in 3 months to come. |
Jomonix:That's the main source of the wahala. Tinubu knows. He's only chasing shadows |
festacman:You get brain..tell them. They want to grow and encourage local industries to thrive, also encourage export of locally made goods but they've forgotten or pretended to know that the so called local industries also buy some materials from overseas in hard currency. What of the inflation which has badly affected the raw materials cost locally? |
Taylor90:Tinubu is such a visionless leader and a power grabber. You see, talk is cheap. Don't criticise people in the aurhitory when you're not opportune to be there yet. There was no name thiis man didn't call Jonathan when he partially removed subsidy back then, after he had already provided some palliatives in place oo. When they sent lagos palliatives, he asked fashola to reject them. But after Jonathan said he'd retrieve all of them, including those sure-p buses, he now asked Fashola to accept them. Same happened when Jonathan constituted a confab for constitutional review. He refused to allow fashola send delegates to abuja from .lagos but when Jonathan said its either lagos position is left vacant at confab or he nominates people from lagos state from among the pdp members himself, he now succumbed. Shey he's gotten the power now. We can see the Mr lagos wonder, performing. When I told his blind supporters that lagos had always been progressive, since the 80s, they took a swipe at me, saying its Tinubu who developed lagos, when I was very much around at the time pa jakande opened up lekki, up to epe and built an estate at lekki called jakande Estate. Where was Tinubu in those years? Where was he when buba marwa, Mr workaholic himself was governor in lagos? How he came and took all their glory, just because he needed to fulfil his lifetime ambition is baffling. Angola partially removed the subsidy after they heard Nigeria did so, instead of fully removing it. Angola had already gotten palliatives in place, enough to cushion the effect of the subsidy before they partially removed subsidy. That's a country who looks after their people, those who truly understand that, democracy is for the people and not for a few. Dollar almost hit 1,000 naira today, no thanks to their stupid policy. Someone should tell him that lagos where he propagates propaganda and always gets away with it isn't Nigeria. You can get away with it in lagos, but not with the entire country |
Shame . Nigerian government isn't good at preserving monuments. Maybe because they're not sharing money there |
continentalceo:I concur. As a matter of fact, only Seun seems unbiased amongst the mods. The onus is on him to ban or sack any mods who appear to be sentimental in any form here, if he really needs to go far and permit people with good ideas to keep airing their opinions here. There's no monopoly in a Web forum. If any likes of nairaland.com should be launched today, seun stands the risk of losing great members. Whether he's paying those biased mods or they render voluntary service, he should disengage them asap, for the sake of nairaland's future. Its so riddled with fangs and I wonder why mods would look the other way when some inappropriate comments are posted and ban anyone they don't feel comfortable with. |
IconicR:Not even now that we keep losing soldiers weekly. On the average, we lose 35 soldiers quarterly to boko haram nicknamed bandits, militiamen, cattle rustlers, islamist terrorist and the unknown gun men in the SE. This is war!!!. The war we're fighting internally is worse than the war between 2 nations. I'm not even talking of the civilians who fall in that battle each time and fighter jets which keep dripping randomly. These cost money. Lives that are lost can't be replaced. ECOWAS should rather come and rescue Nigeria by staging war against these evil men, not to cajole Nigeria to go into war with Niger, a country who saw a corrupt leader and dealt with him decisively by coup, which received the support of the majority of their citizens. Only the few elites among them aren't happy because they feed fat from their leader's corrupt practices. It would have been reasonable to go into war with the juntas, had the civilians condemn the coup. But they're jubilating like when ahacha died in Nigeria. We should leave Niger alone and allow them to fix their country. Niger is a sovereign state. Ecowas is a voluntary organisation which any member state can leave at will. |
mariovito:Soldiers were killed in borno yesyerday by boko haram but they didn't allow it to make headlines. It was reported by aljazeera. Local media concealed it. Imagine. |
