sarkinbauchi:Stop defending the indefensible. Electoral Polling Officers are adhoc staff. Is a minister an adhoc appointment? Check the dictionary for the meaning of adhoc. You cannot know better than the NYSC..they have their own rules and regulations |
Better. Take your true sovereignty seriously. All these westerners are nothing but slave drivers and parasites. They're the ones spreading fake news about the juntas in Niger |
garfield1:You're very correct...and that's why the economy has been so grossly mismanaged, so much that one dollar is now 960 naira under the pdp regime |
The only truly democratic party in Africa. They lost their savour cos of ego and corruption, created a loophole and the apc entered like a lizard. In the pdp, no tribalism, no religous sentiments or gender bias. Under their regime,.power truly belonged to the people. You don't have to know anyone to be relevant. Thanks to the youwin programme. My friend working at UN today wouldn't have had that opportunity, someone whose dad is a peasant farmer in a remote village in ekiti. Amazingly, the majority of those who destroyed the pdp are in the apc today. Kudos to the founding fathers of that party. |
madone:A very good advice for those who would heed it |
trutharena:Where did you hear that? Putin is the one wooing Niger by showing support |
tofolo:He finally got him |
Wait for agbadorians bigots as they haul insults on this honest man. The emilokan sect |
Very true. |
FreeStuffsNG:There's also gold in osun, ondo and parts of ekiti |

uuzba:You didn't get my point. I wasn't talking of seeking help from government or corporate bodies or what have you. Rather, I was talking of individuals helping out in a way, which isn't available in most of the western countries where the government does almost everything for their people. I had lived in a couple of them, to say the least. Help could come in different ways and forms, I agree. But not everything you share with the government or what have you. There are some issues that are better shared with individuals or family members due to sensitivity. But because such a structure isn't available in the west, many of them would just keep it to themselves, manage it, for those who can or fall in a depression and later commit suicide, if they feel its not manageable . I remember a neighbour who walked to me and said her grown daughter still bedwets, someone old enough to even get married. She said her daughter feels depressed about this all the time. I don't want to sound religous here but she received a solution to that disgraceful experience. She's still in the university, I think. In the Western countries, such a pretty girl would have killed herself, due to the kind of the structure in place. Everybody is skeptical of their neighbours over there. This girl had been to hospitals, done several tests yet, no solution before i stepped in. In another scenario, my wife once told me that her sister has been worried about the delayed conception. She had a son but wanted more. She said each time her husband meets her, the whole stuff would flow out, instead of flowing inside and fertilising her egg and her husband was calling her unprintable names already. She's been to hospital, they've prescribed drugs, et al, no solution. Long story cut short, I told my wife to tell her sister that, when next she ovulates, she should tell her husband to reach her from the back and wait after pouring it inside for some minutes before pulling out. She became pregnant after that meeting. 2de, they have 3 children together, carbon copies of their dad. The 2 examples given above were just a few,out of many. People would knock at their relations' or neighbours' doors and share their thoughts on burning issues and find succour. Can you walk to the government over there and discuss such? The answer is no. A nursing student told me she wanted to end it because she had failed a multiple times and she doesn't want to go back home a failure cos her parents will almost kill her. I sat her down, gave her the encouragement she needed . This November, she will graduate. She had to resit those courses, though she had an extra year. She's happy today. Can she go to the government to discuss such? I don't want to share what led to her poor performance here but its not money. She saw me as someone she could confide in and she received a solution. There's a lady here, whose name I won't mention. She had spiritual problems, bad dreams, etc. She was feeling depressed at some point. I reached out to her personally, she did the needful. She came here to share good news. Such intimacy isn't built in the west and that's why suicide rate is so high oner there. Africa culture really helps in mitigating such missions. |
The number 1 reason is a very wicked one. No wonder they easily commit suicide, just because there's nobody to express their minds to. Everybody is just on their own. Too bad! |
eteebanky:If I should say what's on my mind right now, my Muslim friends here would hate me but I reserve my comment. Some things are better not said so. My decision to choose Christianity over Islam in spite of my background is one of the best choices I've ever made. |
Armaggedon:Sensible! |
DoctorAyukebot:Still Determine remains the most sensitive |
omejeb:How can you be so stupid this day and age? We preach this everyday yet, some still think it's a joke. Pray you escape this. |
Anyone who depends on Nigerian politicians no dey serious with his life. Divide 213m naira by 2,600 and you'd know how many people benefited from the so called social investment empowerment scam and how much each person got. I was in Ido Ekiti 3rd of August,stopped-by and bought some tubers of yam from 2 young guys, shortly after Usi Ekiti, before Ayetoro. They displayed them by the road side. Big, naturally grown yam. After transferring the money to one of them, he said they loaded a truck to lagos in the past week from their farm. They'd not make less than 2m naira from that single truck load. |
Ask the agbadorian fellas. They'd still sing their usual it will favour me and you song |
Flee lust for women. The habit still brings down great and potentially great men...been doing so since in the days of Samson. Be warned ⚠️ |
A good piece of advice for good parents. There are lesson apps which they can always take advantage of. I don't want to advertise any here. Google will assist. |

successmatters:Don't mind them. In life, don't criticise those in authority if you don't hold the magic wand. There was no unprintable names tinubu and the apc caucus didn't call obj and Jonathan when in government, sponsoring various protests nationwide as if they had a better idea. Under the apc's watch, Nigerians were murdered in thousands yet, no single useful solution from them, our military lost their lives in hundreds too. Between 2015 and now, naira had been so battered that it increased from 250 naira to 980 naira to a dollar in rates, what they said they'd stabilise and almost bring to same rate as dollar before they took office. They said Nigeria would be developed like dubai and gullible supporters swallowed their lies hook, lins and sinker. They said subsidy was a scam, that it never existed yet they claimed to have paid a huge sum in subsidy. They increased pump price multiple times and told us to bear with them. Our economy had suffered so much that they too don't seem to have a solution to it. They've exhausted their lying buckets. No more lies to tell Nigerians. Now, it's a trial and error regime. Nigeria has always been an import-dependent nation since the return of democracy yet, our economy has been well managed by robust economic teams. Crude was sold for 35 usd a barrel when obj was in office yet, naira was as very strong. Our foreign reserve was well built up. I exchanged 1,000 naira for 23,000 ce fa multiple times. Now , cefa has overtaken naira. Our leaders don't seem to know the implications of the worthless naira. The masses would suffer the consequences the most, via inflation. If they tell you the reason for the fall of naira was because we're an import dependent nation, tell them we've always been, and naira hasn't been this useless. There are some great countries, who are import dependent and their economy fares well. Has anyone wondered why crude price and export have improved for some time now and this never reflected on the value of naira and general economic condition? The reason is simple. Massive corruption, mismanagement of the economy and borrowings to execute elephant projects are among the causes. Some regions don't need the kind of rail system they're borrowing money for. The south-north railroad would have boosted our revenues and the fed govt would have been able to replay those loans in a shorter time. See just one accountant general stealing over 100bn..maybe he was exposed hecause he didn't settle some people around him. There are so many of his likes, who's yansh will never be opened till they die. There are former governors who borrowed from the foreign land and within, but failed to pay back and shifted the burden on their successors and ran for senate to enable them keep covering up those loans which they've embezzled while in office. some bills will never be allowed to fly , as long as they're in NA cos it will lead them to jail. The solution to the Nigeria's problem is revolution, which we're aftaid of. The poor had been oppressed for too long. I always shake my head each time I see people on nairaland attacking each other's tribes,.instead of coming together and seeking a means of moving Nigeria forward and taking over what belongs to them...the country. They'd keep throwing tantrums until one day when they'd watch a mirror and see grey hair on their heads. That's when they'd realise how short this life is and how much their so called leaders have mortgaged their entire lives. Then, it would have been too late to act. Who wanted to travel out in the 70s/80s and be working under the biting cold? See people japaing in droves. Who caused it? Not God who has made everything available for us but the so-called leaders whom you and I are defending. They've succeeded in sending you away from your land which you're meant to develop and flourish in, but you're not realising this. I hope people would shun ethnic sentiments and tackle the Nigerian problems headon. Even those living abroad are suffering and smiling. There's no place like home. I have a thousand proofs |
I recommend house to house raid in lagos. From ikorodu, to lekki, to alaba. This nonsense must stop. Lagos has really become something else, omg! |
Racoon: .I remember a day i witnessed a wild armed robbery attack shortly after the redemption camp, a few miles ahead of the shagamu interchange. I've never been so scared in my life. I was travelling to Abuja by road on a sunday morning. Since my meeting was holding Monday morning, I decided to shun flight and travelled by road instead. This was in 2010. The road was fairly ok to travel on, back then. As the vehicle I boarded ran into these gun-wielding young men, I didn't know when I ran out of the vehicle and picked race, facing lagos where I was coming from. The bus was like number 6, counting from the robbery spot. At ojota, I saw a bus which was almost filled up. The driver encouraged me to enter but I refused. I loved the front seat so, I went for the next bus. The bus I avoided was 3rd on the row from the scene of robbery. They had robbed all passengers of their belongings. Long story cut short. There was this huge SUV, I think Nissan Amanda, with fully tinted glass which approached the scene. Suddenly we saw 2 solders with guns in their hands. We were so happy seeing them, thinking they'd neutralize the thieves. All of a sudden, they ran into the bush with the guns in their hands. The robbers had a field day. After they had left, everybody now began to come out from their hiding, including the soldiers. When someone asked why did they disappoint , they said they had to run away cos they'd be their target once they see the uniform they were wearing. Another passenger now asked them again...officer, but why didn't you shoot at them from where you were hiding, abi they'd still see you? They both laughed, jumped inside the SUV and zoomed off. I'm sorry to say this, if any serious-minded country should engage us in any war, Nigeria army would be humiliated. They'd defeat Nigeria and our army. The same army who used to represent Nigeria aren't in the force anymore the breeds we have now have nern corrupted, just like our current national team, super chickens. I don't blame them. Their morale is very low. You can imagine over 25 gallant officers resigning voluntarily recently. Their allowance would have been slashed before it gets to them. They delay their salary too. Only on Nigeria would yiu zee army commit suicide and our law makers are living large. This is one of the reasons I don't encourage deployment of ecowas troops to Niger. Truth be told, ecowas is Nigeria and Nigeria is ecowas. It would be a sad and shameful thing to see their lives being wasted by the army of Niger Republic. Back home, ordinary boko haram, they can't defeat for over 10 years. |
