wrongnumber:Are you being serious right now? So if a girl who is your roommate comes to where you're sitting and asks if you have a big dick, you don't think it's pretty obvious she's aiming to have sex with you? Whoever says it's normal for a lady you're not flirting with to just ask you the size of your dick out of nowhere? Tell me, in what universe is that normal? Don't you know what an invasive or suggestive question is? Are you pretending you don't know what that guy was up to? It's not worth it replying to y'all cause some of are simply not logical at all. Tufia. |
youngreva:Ok... since we aren't being egalitarian, I choose the people I engage on Nairaland, and I really do not have anything to discuss with a sex maniac who drops his number on a public forum to be added to a hookup Whatsapp group. That's the lowest of all low lives. Enjoy your day. |
Special visa for foreign gay people? Please, don't misinform people. There's nothing gay couples are receiving here that heterosexual couples aren't already receiving. Changing the common law definition of marriage to include gay couples implies that that the same permit and visa options apply to immigration visas for homosexuals as they do heterosexuals. This includes life partner and spousal visas and permits. So don't make it look as if there's a special consideration for gay people. Meanwhile, other countries are working towards an egalitarian society where everyone is respected regardless of race, gender, sexuality, class, etc., but Nigerians are bent on maintaining thier "I better pass you" lifestyle. That's why tribalism, sexism, religious bigotry, classism, etc. are the order of the day over there. They can't even tolerate one another. Everyone thinks they're better than others. The truth is, only someone battling with his own sexuality will be preoccupied with a fellow man's sex life. |
And someone is on there supporting him. He said it's a harmless question. So they should sit down and starting discussing if she has had sex? Honestly, the way some of these guys think is just irritating. They are all over Nairaland hiding thier perversion and obsession behind thier anti-women comments. Morning, afternoon and night, they're thinking of women; creating ridiculous threads left, right and center. Very promiscuous bunch. |
In my opinion, if Accra is being compared to Lagos, then they're doing well. The GDP of Lagos is bigger than that of the entire Ghana. Ideally, Lagos should be in a league of its own. That said, the rapid development in Lagos state is heartwarming. I can't wait to invite my friends to Nigeria! |
IamAsiri:You may not believe it, but a lot of places in North America are just like the Lagos State you know. |
meum:Haha... bro, you're funny. ![]() |
They came late and the boss was trying to make a statement by not allowing them into the office. I'm sure he doesn't do that daily. He's thier boss, I don't understand why they feel he's wrong for refusing them entry into the office for coming to work late. What's the logic? That the boss shouldn't have the authority to discipline them? Maybe he's overly strict, but they chose the wrong time to fight back. Nobody will support them for this. On the other hand, I think Umahi should focus more on disciplining the department leads. They will in turn discipline the unit leads who will eventually discipline the team members. Also, the presidency that employed him should make a statement backing him up. That's basically what is needed to put the workers in check. |
Deltancapo:So you think the peaceful coexistence in the Americas is because they've never had conflicts? You think they've always been living in harmony? Who are the "people of USA"? You say "the people of USA" as if that's an ethnicity and they're the host. You forget that the whites came from Europe and "annexed and destroyed" the aboriginals who, though remember that part of history, have chosen coexistence. You forget that the blacks and the whites had/have thier differences. You forget that the Union (North) fought a civil war with the Confederation (South) in 1861. You forget that the three main Europeans that make up white America (English, French and Spanish) had series of Civil wars in the past in Europe and fought over the region we know as North America today. You forget that the French and English in Canada also had thier war and that Québec has had two referenda to leave Canada. You forget that Canada fought the US and went as far as burning down the white house. All these conflicts happened, and they still chose to respect or, at least, tolerate one another today for the sake of progress. And here you are making excuses for your lack of tolerance. You're asking if these ethnicities have done anything to "the people of USA". Yes, they have. Arabs have bombed many places in the West, yet they walk around freely and do thier festivals over there. How many places have Igbos bombed in SS? Why am I even going far, your fellow Nigerians commit all sorts of crimes in the US, yet they do their festivals and even take up leadership positions over there. So what exactly is your excuse for choosing hate? Is this what you intend to teach your children? Why are you guys not progressive in thought? Hatred is a choice, and there is no justification for it. |
HRHQueenPhil:Nairaland people... isn't that what fish is for? What else were you expecting him to do with the fish? Marry it? Lmao. |
September 2022 is fresh? Did you refrigerate the date or what? |
In the Americas, we have Afro festivals, Caribbean festivals, and Asian festivals. Nobody comes in the way of the other. The cities provide security during these occasions. People from other groups are invited to participate and enjoy with those celebrating. Such festivals are something to look forward to cause it's entertaining, revealing and uniting. However, back home, Nigerians can't even tolerate other Nigerians. Shame. |
I don't understand this. So does the absence of these words in the Bible imply the practices are wrong? I thought it was obvious such practices are meant to organize or systematize religious bodies? Someone please tell me the point here. |
I know the comments will focus on what girls are doing or not doing these days, but the truth is, people have been having sex long before now. If we want to really address this subject objectively, we need to take a look at the so-called leaked videos. 99% of them are meant to hurt the ladies involved. In other words, they were leaked by the male partners. Even when the video involves a popular male, it's not considered a big deal. So the question is, why this sudden toxicity in our men? Why this strong desire to suppress? Of course, a lady can avoid such an embarrassment by not allowing recording during an intimate session. However, there are a hundred other ways a toxic guy could get private videos or pictures of a lady he's dating. And when ladies now come into relationships with fear and suspicions, y'all complain. You forget that the behavior of one party is a direct response to what they receive from the other party. The sad thing is that when these things happen, everyone gathers to chastise the victims and shy away from addressing the culprits. How will it stop with this kind of encouraging behavior? I've said it before, and I will say it again, the way to address the undesirable happening in Nigeria's relationship arena is by addressing them objectively. This idea of supporting one's herd in the name of solidarity does not help anyone. It will always backfire. |
descarado:That's an ignorant statement, bro. If you've ever led people, you'd know leadership is heavy and draining, even more so when you're good leader that tries to carry everyone along. |
Power doesn't drain, leadership does. |
tinsel:Well, you're not the president of the biggest black nation on earth. |
EmirofAfonjaz:Dude, hating celebrities doesn't make your own life any better. Some people's death will generate more attention than others. It is the natural order of things. People have been dying in Nigeria long before now, but everyone is talking about this guy because he was popular and his story is known. Netizens, celebrities, bloggers and media houses are all on his matter. Then this lady says something, and she's getting attacked as a clout chaser? Really? Is she supposed to be an exception just so that you'll be happy? You can criticize her, but be logical about it so you won't come off as an unreasonable hater or a jealous human beings. |
But the school has confirmed they have his record. Why is he still against the release of his result? Could it be that he's just opposing the release as a way of misleading his opponents into believing there's something in the result that he's hiding all in a bid to keep them busy and steer them away from focusing on something else he's actually hiding? |
Y'all are so obsessed. Nawa o |
FG reads the riot act... Correct your title. |
Merry100:I only said that the examples given by the guy were all wrong. And then I added "@OP, while such contructs might not be uncommon in old English, I believe they're only found in poetry today. Also, it's "good at English" in this context, not 'good in English'" So you can give the OP your own examples to showcase the exceptions. ![]() |
Goalnaldo:In sentence one, "them" is used as the subject of the verb "ventured". This is wrong cause it's an object pronoun and can never perform the grammatical function of a subject pronoun. Note that the nearby expression "the brave explorers" is an appositive noun phrase that only adds extra details. In sentence two, "them" is used as the subject of the verb "perched". This is wrong cause it's an object pronoun and can never perform the grammatical function of a subject pronoun. Note that the nearby expression "the the colorful birds" is an appositive noun phrase that only adds extra details. In sentence two, "them" is used as the subject of the verb "perched". This is wrong cause it's an object pronoun and can never perform the grammatical function of a subject pronoun. Note that the nearby expression "the old books in the dusty library" is an appositive noun phrase that only adds extra details. Appositives only serve to provide more details about a noun or a pronoun. A sentence should still be correct without them. Now, let's try removing the parts I identified as appositive noun phrases in your sentences and see if the they are correct. 1. Them ventured deep into the uncharted jungle, seeking hidden treasures. 2.Them perched high in the treetops, filling the forest with their melodious songs. 3.Them held secrets and stories from centuries past, waiting to be discovered. As you can see, they're all wrong. That's because only a subject pronoun can be used be as the subject of a verb. In this case, that would be "they". @OP, while such contructs might not be uncommon in old English, I believe they're only found in poetry today. Also, it's "good at English" in this context, not "good in English". AllKnowing:You're correct, but those are not reduced relative clauses. They are not even clauses at all. They are noun phrases, and they function as appositives in the sentences made by that guy. |
Is the grid on drugs or something? Why is it always collapsing? |
TMKsouth:Commendable! |
izonborn098:Nah, that married/single distinction only serves to support your argument, it's not factual. Or do you think a career prostitute will change after getting married? No, bro. You don't make that distinction for men, but the moment you realize ladies in prostitution do it all the time, you created a line to allow you proceed with your already knotted mindset. The truth is, single or married, a woman is a woman. A lady can use her body to get whatever she wants without being emotionally attached. They do it all the time. Married ladies do it for promotion, pleasure, more money, etc. People are different, sir. Attaching emotions to sex or not is an individual thing. A man can do it, a woman can do it. The only thing that differs is the society's perception of each. It's a man's world and we push any philosophy that appeals to us. It has always been like that from the days of the Bible. Men and women are different, but none has the monopoly of cheating just for pleasure or material gains. |
izonborn098:Are you a woman? What puts you in a position to describe your gender and also describe thier own for them? Don't you see how it's not practical for you not to be biased? You're a man, speak about men, and let them speak about women. Anything you say about women is from the man's point of view and, as such, it can't be taken as reality. Honestly, this idea of us telling women about women is funny cause at the end, we always narrate it in a way that appeals to us. @OP, I believe it's more individualistic than gender defined. In fact, prostitution is a living proof that a lady can have sex with anyone as a transaction (money, pleasure, favour, etc.). What you have up there is a theory pushed by one gender to justify promiscuity. |
A lot of jokers on this thread. You will talk for yourself and also talk for women; tell them about themselves. Nawa o |
This is great!!! Just wondering why they're doing tap-in/tap-out in 2023? I thought the directional cost calculation approach was more modern and more convenient? Anyway, this is still better than cash! |
