Family / Re: Ever Lost Someone As Dear As Family? Come Light A Candle For Them Here by Everbright(f): 5:59pm On Jul 03, 2007
I light a candle for the man who brought me into this world.
Though I didn't spend much time with you the sweet memories of you still lingers.
No matter how I try,I still remember that cold morning when uncle John drove to into the compound to announce your exit.
It was on March 6,and I still mourn that day from 1991 till date. we are all grown now dad, even the youngest of them is yet another graduate.
time has thought me to take it as one of those things in life but it failed to teach me to forget you,and you will forever live in my heart.Continue to rest in the bossom of our Lord daddy till we meet to part no more.

Also for my sis.
You brought us thus far with your encouragement while you lived.
The little kids you left behind are now looking up to us to show them the way,but I'm not sure I'd be able to be the sweet mother they all miss so much.
I will try to lead them sister, praying that the Almighty will help me keep this promise. It is one year now since we lost you to that dreaded disease, even though you were given the best medical attention in the best hospital in the world, death still snatched you from our hands. If only those white doctors at John Hopkins had told us the painfull truth on time, you wouldn't have gone throught those painful chemo and radio,
Over the years I've come to terms with the fact that HE alone is God and does things in HIS own time
What more can I say than that we all miss you so dearly.
ADIEU! SISTER ADIEU!!

Business / Re: If You Are Overpaid By Your Bank by Everbright(f): 12:02pm On Jun 29, 2007
Definitely I am going to call his attention.
When you are underpaid, lay your complaints. As far as you are still within the shores of the counter, they don't have any choice but to complete your payment.I've had an experience before and thank heavens I was still at the counter. When I explained, they had to recount the money and I was right.Shekina they paid my money sharp sharp.

I was thrilled by an action from a security girl one day.she was in the banking hall and saw a big bundle of N500 note, nobody was watching, but she picked it and took to her superior.Shortly after, a man came spitting fire that his driver he sent to the bank was underpaid by close to N200,000
And the teller was very sure he paid thesame amount on the cheque. The security guard later brought the money and the man then realized the driver was at fault.
What am I saying, the girl even though needs that money more than anything, she still was not tempted to make it hers.
I think everyone one should learn from that.

Even the ones that made 2.1,have they all been employed

Try and stay afar a little while.
You will either have him come looking for you or get over him completely.
Try it,it's a game you always win
Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Pet Peeves, Phobias And Things That Irritate You? by Everbright(f): 9:25am On Jun 27, 2007
I hate colleagues who can't stop asking you how much you bought your stuffs, where and when you bought it.
Hate fellows who stop to greet someone you are with, without saying hi to you.
Detest the habit of continually sneefing both in wet and in dry seasons.
Hate it when people don't know the correct word for a thing and calls it what they like. Like our very illiterate neighbours calling our meggard whose name is Abdullahi, Mohammedi!, soooooooo irritating!
I hate people asking unreasonable, unintelligent, stupid questions, like having me repeat something very simple over and over to force it into the fool's head, haba
I detest perceiving plate i used to eat.
Hate people pouring water into the plate they finished eating with.
Abnormalities give me goose pimples. Can remember my friend buying me biscuits when i was sick, and while i was eating it,I noticed one biscuit bigger than the others,I screamed, threw the biscuit away and entered the ladies. cry
Career / Re: If You Fall Sick And Get Fired On Resumption by Everbright(f): 8:16am On Jun 27, 2007
casper:

questions i have for you is that
1 ;did you call them to tell them that u were sick or did your friend's friend tell them.
2; did you call everyday u were away from work or did u send someone else?
3; do you have doctor's report proving that you were sick?

if you have answered yes to 2 of these questions then u have a case with a lawyer if not my friend just look for another job, but while u are making a case still look for another job.
At poster I join Casper in asking these questions.

Religion / Re: The Sin Against The Holy Spirit: What Is It? by Everbright(f): 8:30am On Jun 19, 2007
I think an example of sin against the HOLY SPIRIT is having SEX out of wedlock ,since we understand the fact that the HOLYSPIRIT lives in us.
A preacher analysed it this way:
How many of you will be making love to their spouses and invite the house help to watch?
So as such,the HOLY SPIRIT
lives within us and that's what we mean when we talk about conscience.
So when we do some things against all warnings from HIM,we have sinned against him and we cannot say that it is non-deliberate.
Likewise the things we say.
When we say things we've already considered in our hearts as being blasphemous we also sin against HIM.
