First Lady Aisha Buhari has revealed that her husband and
President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for many years.


ThisDay and Arise TV reported that she said this at the ground-breaking ceremony for the Armed Forces Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder Centre (AFPTSDC) initiated by the Mrs Lucky Irabor-led Defence and Police Officers’ Wives
Association (DEPOWA).

Aisha said her husband suffered PTSD for many years after
his involvement in Nigeria’s civil war without rehabilitation,
his overthrow as military head of state, and subsequent
detention for 40 months without being charged with any
offence.

The First Lady added that Buhari’s loss of three consecutive
elections further complicated the situation she was confronted with at 19, when she married him. She further
revealed that she became an unintended physiotherapist
who nursed him to recovery.


She said;

“I want to thank DEPOWA for this foresighted vision of establishing a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Centre for our soldiers. Indeed, PTSD is a mental health condition triggered by terrifying events.

“It is a reality that soldiers and military families have to live with, despite its negative consequences.

Being a soldier’s wife or a retired soldier’s wife and a wellness expert, I understand the challenges associated with PTSD and its impact on military families and the nation.

“My husband served the Nigerian Army for 27 years before he was overthrown in a coup d’état. He fought civil war for 30 months without rehabilitation;

he ruled Nigeria for 20 months and was detained for 40 months without disclosing the nature of his offence.

“One year after he came out from detention, we were married, I clocked 19 years in his house as his wife, legitimately. I suffered the consequences of PTSD, because having gone through all these, and at the age of 19, to handle somebody, who was a former Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria’s Armed Forces, to tell him that he is wrong is the first mistake you will make.

“So, at the age of 19, I had to figure out how to tell somebody of his calibre that he was wrong or right and that was the beginning of my offence in hishouse, and contesting elections in 2003 and failed, 2007, failed and 2011, the same thing – all without rehabilitation – I became a physiotherapist.

“Finally, the whole nation rose against the misuse of power and bad governance. He only succeeded when it became a movement and here we are today.

He ruled Nigeria before and he is ruling Nigeria now and this is the last time and final.

“Failing election for three times was a big blow to every contestant but those that have contested for just yesterday, a simple primary election, they are still living in a traumatic condition, I tried to console them, I tried to talk to them, some of them have switched off their phones up till today, just because of a primary election.

“You can imagine myself at 19 years, handling somebody that went to war, suffered coup d’état, then lost several elections, and, finally, getting to the Villa in the 2015. Also, for a woman to tell them that this is wrong or right in Nigeria and Africa is a problem.”

Aisha Buhari also commended members of the armed forces for their contributions to nation. She added;


“In that case, I want to use this opportunity to appreciate members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their sacrifices and contributions to nation building.

“The fallen Heroes remain evergreen in our minds and many with us are wounded physically and mentally. I want to appreciate their wives and families; I want to let them know that the whole nation is with them.”

Aisha stated that the PTSD centre was important to members of the armed forces and beyond, stressing that
soldiers are the primary victims.

Operatives of the Joint Taskforce Base 14 in Boi, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State have arrested a fake doctor identified as Andrew Godwin over the demise of the former ward Chairman of APC, Boi C ward in Bogoro, Nigerian Tribune reports.

The suspect who hails from Nasarawa state was arrested on Sunday, September 25, 2022, for carrying out an unsuccessful surgery which led to the death of the 45-year-old patient identified as Joshua Haruna.

The deceased, a resident of Gambar Lere in the LGA, was until his death was the Campaign Coordinator of Sen. Lawal Yahaya Gumau.

According to the publication, the suspect has been living in Gambar Sabon Layi in Tafawa Balewa for a few years now where he carries out his illegal business on unsuspecting members of the public.

The suspect operates as a medical chemist but has not acquired any medical certificate or approval from the relevant authorities to enable him to operate.

He was reported to have cut open the stomach of his patient and left like that till the following day.

An unconfirmed report from the community revealed that Mr Andrew Godwin had performed unsuccessful surgery on many people who later died as a result of the complications.

The JTF officer who arrested him, said the fake health worker has been handed him over to the Police in the Bogoro Division for further investigations.

The case has been transferred to Tafawa Balewa Police Station because Gambar Sabon Layi is in Tafawa Balewa LGA while Gambar Lere is located in Bogoro LGA.

A Nigerian lady is of the opinion that one woman can never
satisfy a man's sexual needs.

In a video that has now gone viral, the woman argued that even the Bible supports men having multiple women.

A man has finally captured a snake that has been living in his house for a month and disappears whenever he wants to catch it.

The PortHarcourt resident explained that he has been seeing the snake in his house but it disappears after he sights it.

Yesterday, September 23, he found the snake in his kitchen, crawling down the island to the sink.

This time, he was able to catch the reptile - suspected to be a black mamba - and he set it ablaze after killing it.

Kenyan woman arrested for drunk driving detained after falling asleep and snoring loudly during court session

A Nairobi Traffic Court has detained a drunk woman for falling asleep during court proceedings.

Sharon Oparanya had been arraigned before Magistrate Martha Nanzushi on Thursday morning, September 22, to answer to charge of driving under the influence.

However, she slept off on the bench and started snoring loudly which made the Magistrate to inquire from the orderlies the person who was snoring in court.

"Wait wait! Why is she snoring in court, is that someone sleeping in my court? "the magistrate posed.

In reply, a court orderly said that Oparanya was drunk and that's why she was sleeping in court.

"Your honour, she is drunk and that's why she is sleeping in court," the officer said.

Following the distraction, the magistrate ordered Oparanya to be detained at Lang'ata Women's Prison until Friday when she will answer to the charges.

According to the charge sheet filed in court by the DPP, Oparanya is accused that on September 22, 2022 at 7:35 am along Ngong Road "being the driver of a Mercedes-Benz did drive on a public road under the influence of alcohol to such an extent as to be incapable of having proper control of the said motor vehicle."

Ondo Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has said he will buy arms for Amotekun Corps.

He lashed out at the FG for denying the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun Corps) the right to carry assault rifles despite terror attacks, while allowing the Katsina security outfit to bear and carry arms.

According to him, the country cannot have two systems.

Reacting in a statement on Thursday to the video showing Katsina security outfit bearing arms, the governor noted that denying Amotekun the rights to legitimately bear arms is a repudiation of the basis of true federalism which we have been clamoring for.

“That Katsina was able to arm its state security force, with the display of AK47 means we are pursuing one country, two systems solution to the national question.

“If the Katsina situation conferring advantages on some, in the face of commonly faced existential threats, it means that our unitary policing system, which has failed, is a deliberate method of subjugation which must be challenged.”

The governor said Nigeria’s independence agreement was based on a democratic arrangement to have a federal state and devolved internal security mechanics. We must go back to that agreement.

He added that denying Amotekun the right to bear arms exposes the Southwest to life-threatening marauders and organized crime.

“It is also a deliberate destruction of our agricultural sector. It is an existential threat. We want to reiterate, that what is sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander.”

The statement announced that the Ondo government, under the doctrine of necessity, “have decided to fulfil its legal, constitutional and moral duty to the citizens of the State, by acquiring arms to protect them”.

“This is more so, given that the bandits have an unchecked access to sophisticated weapons. The State government cannot look on while its citizens are being terrorized and murdered with impunity. We will defend our people.”

The senate has confirmed the appointment of Olukayode Ariwoola as the substantive chief justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Ariwoola has been holding the office since the resignation of Ibrahim Muhammad.

Muhammad resigned after 14 justices of the apex court accused him of abandoning his responsibilities as the leader of the court.

In July, President Muhammadu Buhari asked the senate to confirm the appointment of Ariwoola as CJN.

“Pursuant to section 231 (1) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended; I forward for confirmation by the Senate of Honourable Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the chief justice of Nigeria,” Buhari had said.

The upper legislative chamber confirmed Ariwoola as CJN on Wednesday after Abdullahi Gobir, senate leader, moved a motion to screen him in the “committee of the whole”.

The CJN was screened and subsequently confirmed through a voice vote.

The Nasarawa State Police command has arrested one Usman Danladi, 21, for allegedly chopping off the wrist of a 25-year-old man, Jibrin Abdullahi, in Karu Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, September 18, 2022, said the suspect was arrested for attempted culpable homicide.

According to the PPRO, the suspect who confessed to the crime claimed that the victim had assaulted his girlfriend named Aisha before fight ensued between them.

"On September 16, 2022 at about 1600hrs, information was
received that one Jibrin Abdullahi 'M' 25yrs of Kaduna State but a resident of Tudun Wada Area, Auta Balefi of Karu LGA, Nasarawa State was attacked and his wrist, chopped off," the statement read.

"Upon receipt of the information, Police operatives attached to Goshen City Division led by CSP Eunice Ogbadu swiftly raced to the scene and rushed the victim to Federal Medical Centre, Keffi for treatment.

"Consequently, intensive manhunt for the perpetrator of the
dastardly act was instituted. The effort of the investigators paid off on 17/9/2022 when the prime suspect, one Usman Danladi 'M' 21yrs A.K.A murderer was arrested.

"Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed, the victim earlier assaulted his girlfriend (Aisha) and when he confronted him, a fight ensued; in the process, he attacked the victim with a machete.

"The Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi has directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia for further investigation, after which the suspect will be charged to Court for prosecution."

The NOI poll, commissioned by the Anap Foundation and
released on Thursday, showed that the former Anambra
governor is leading the race with 21 percent of the votes.
It described the presidential contest as a three-horse race
and gave Obi an eight percent lead over the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s candidate Bola Tinubu and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Atiku Abubakar who each got 13 percent of the votes to end up as joint second in the poll.

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso was fourth with three percent of the votes.

But the APC, PDP, and NNPP have in separate reactions to
the poll, dismissed it, saying it does not reflect the realities
on the ground.


Bots, Not Real Humans

During his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics
Today on Thursday, the spokesperson of the Atiku
Abubakar presidential campaign Daniel Bwala, questioned
the techniques deployed for the exercise, claiming Obi is
basking in the euphoria of hallucination.

Bwala argued that a “normal poll that will attract
credibility will be a poll that will clearly release the sample
size and the margin of error as the report is being released
because the sample size and the margin of error will help
in identifying whether the polling was actually carried out
correctly or not.

“Then, you can further ask for the sampling. Was it done
through a phone call? If it was done through a phone call,
then the people who did not have phones were probably
not part of the polling.

“You also go to the extent of demographics and the place
where the polling was carried out. I know they said it was
a random sampling. But then, because of the result, I’m
tempted to believe that this polling was carried out online
because Peter Obi has a number of people who are very
active for him online much more than the other
candidates.

“I will tell you why: There was an algorithm search and
data analytics that was carried out that came up with the
finding that 57.5 percent of people who follow Peter Obi
and engage with him on social media do not live in
Nigeria. In fact, majority of whom are bots on Twitter —
they are not real human beings.”

He said: “If you take away 57.5 percent of people who are
active for him, who probably live abroad and they don’t
have voter cards and they are likely not to come to vote,
what it means is that Peter Obi is basking in the euphoria
of hallucination, and this polling is a true reflection.”



‘Biased Polling’

Senator Kashim Shettima was officially presented as
the APC vice-presidential candidate in Abuja on July
20, 2022.

For the APC, the most recent Anap poll is not a reflection
of the Nigerian reality as it accused the organisers of using
“dubious” statistics to “package” Obi to voters.

The statement by the Director, Media, and Publicity of the
APC Presidential Campaign Council Bayo Onanuga
accused the NOI of turning its “political bias in an election
period to fraudulent statistics”.

“The NOI has chosen the preferred candidate and has
decided to use fake, dubious statistics to package him to
the Nigerian voters,” Onanuga said in the statement.

“We know, as a matter of fact, the owners of NOI and
where their political interest lies and wish to advise NOI to
stop polluting the political system with irresponsible,
unscientific, and biased polling so that we don’t expose
the puppeteers pulling its strings.”


‘We are not Hurt’

Dr Abdulmumin Jibrin.
Aside from the APC, the NNPP also claimed that it is not
disturbed by the poll, saying several similar exercises from
the same organisation have failed in their projections.

“We are not hurt in any way. Absolutely, we are not hurt.
In fact, I was contemplating not coming to this programme
because coming here means we have made the people
who promoted the poll achieve what they want to
achieve,” the spokesperson of the NNPP Abdulmumin
Jibrin said on Politics Today . “All they want to do is to
create a public conversation so that we continue to talk
about it; creating the image as if Obi is very much ahead.”

Jibrin accused Obi and the Labour Party of dividing the
country, saying the former governor will only get votes in
the southeast where he hails from.

“The only place Obi will demystify structure is in the
southeastern part of the country. That is where whether he
has a structure or no structure, he will make an impression
because their party and its candidate are divisive
elements. All they do is to divide Nigerians,” he
maintained.


However, the LP says the poll shows Nigerians are ready
for a new order of governance.

“It shows that Nigerians have come to terms with our
reality that there has to be a change and a new order from
the old because it is very obvious they are languishing in
abject poverty,” the party’s spokesman Abayomi Arabambi
said.

“There are no jobs for Nigerians. Schools are under lock
and key due to executive rascality and malfeasance of the
present administration.”

A lawsuit has been filed the stop a rally by Obidients

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been ordered to accept and publish the name of Godswill Akpabio as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akwa Ibom North/West senatorial district in 2023.

According to TheNation, a Federal High Court in Abuja gave the order on Thursday.

Justice Emeka Nwite, in a judgment on Thursday, held that INEC acted illegally for refusing to accept and publish

Minister of Water Resources, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu, has called for the closure of the Gadar Sarkin Kogi at Tiga in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.

Adamu who made the call during a joint assessment visit to the Tiga and Bagauda Dams respectively with Governor
Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, said this would ensure safety of motorists and pedestrians.

The minister in a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the deputy governor, Hassan Fagge, explained that the spillway at the two dams were functioning properly contrary to rumours.

He also revealed that the floods did not affect the Tiga and Bagauda Dams, adding that the level of the water in the dam had not risen.

Adamu further directed the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority to continue with routine maintenance of the dams.

12-Year-Old Boy Destroys His Mothers House Because She Took His Phone Away

A video of a 12-year-old boy destroying items in his mother's house is currently making rounds online.

The boy destroyed appliances and household items in the house, including a kitchen table, window, toilet seats in the house after his mum reportedly seized his phone.

His mother couldn't help but cry as she went through the destroyed items in the house.
