folake4u: Folake, Tonto is the one who likes wahala. She's cute though, so maybe she believes she will always get away with it. |
SmellySperm:No. No beef. She just likes making waves out of everything. ![]() |
Iyaebe:This girl... ![]()

Shut up Tonto. |
GloriousGbola:Hmmm.

Klass99:Wow! Glad you enjoyed yourself Klass, although it's the one city I've never really liked. I feel it's way too hyped. Glad I moved away.If you ever plan on another trip, I'd suggest you explore the Coastal region. It offers more tranquility and will also offer you a glimpse of the rich history influenced by the (mostly Omani) Arabs and Portuguese who had major dealings along the coast of East Africa, and even fought a territorial war. Or better still, hop across the border and tour Zanzibar. It's worth the hype. ![]() Alternatively, if you're a wildlife fanatic, you'll be spoilt for choice. I think the beauty of +254 is far away from that mad city. Or you can just hop to Tanzania for a more diverse tourism experience. Trader asked a question that makes me smile till this day.Hehehe. Oh yes. Trust me, I can relate to the trader. Your people though. Never a dull moment with them. They'll annoy you and make you laugh too. You tend to be calm even here on Nairaland. I always find myself agitated by the uncouth mannerisms of some street urchins here, but they rarely seem to bother you. ![]() ....but it was inspired by my bible app (YouVersion). I am as pentecostal as you....YouVersion. It seems like an app worth downloading. Sorry Creepsyme. Didn't mean to hijack your thread. I wish you well in your quest. |
pocohantas:I sight you. ![]()

AliuKe:You just want to sound rebellious. |
Klass99:No, I'm not Catholic, but you talked about lent in one of your posts and it got me thinking that you could be one. I do have a Catholic background though through my father. My mum wasn't Catholic, so dad would drop her off at the gate of her church and the rest of us would proceed with him to St. Patrick's Catholic Church for mass. I switched camps at the age of 12 thereabout and I have been attending Pentecostal churches until this date (on and off). Christians ought to be one, yes. But most are separated by doctrines. Others believe in Christ, but believe women should wear zero makeup. Others even believe women shouldn't wear pants. Others believe in Christ but discourage their congregants from marrying men and women of other religions and sometimes denominations (Jehovah Witnesses, Catholics, Seventh Day Adventists, etc). This last instance could be a possible cause of OP's predicament. Others are more obsessed about speaking in tongues and prophetic gifts, others not so much. Others are obsessed with prosperity messages. Others simply preach about the love of God. Others are balanced (5-fold ministry). Others worship God with all their might. Others worship their pastor/bishop. Maybe we do need a new thread to discuss this. ![]() Klass99:My home country is code +254. My other home is code +263. I move between the two countries. Wherever I will be, I can find a way to meet with you. Maybe some of your wisdom will rub off on me. ![]() |
creepsyme:Do you have any passion? Interests? |
Klass99: ![]() I did not want to quote the whole post but for the advice you have given the lady, all I can say is, may you live long. Your response is the most balanced and practical. You're Catholic I presume? I'm usually short of words sometimes on matters such as the one the OP is dealing with because many times, I take a very different approach to things and they mostly work for me, but I wouldn't know whether my advice would be helpful or damaging to their situation. I tend to do stuff others would consider bold and unusual. Normally I find it easy to make peace with certain situations, especially if I can't change it. Were I to be in the OP's shoes I'd have made peace with the situation a long time ago. Wouldn't even put up any fight at all. But that's me. I hate being controlled by anxiety. It's the devil's weapon. I realised one thing a long time ago. The more fearful you are of an eventuality, the higher the likelihood of it happening. Job 3:25 - "For the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me, and that which I dreaded has befallen me." Job was a witness. People have a way of sensing what you fear, and this phenomenon is very common with the "logical" gender. They can sense when a woman fears to be abandoned, a woman who fears the stigma of spinsterhood, a woman who fears ![]() I'd advise the OP to disconnect herself from the fear of 'stigma' or loneliness and surround herself with positive mammals. What will be, will be. |
We4all:And someone will be defending this lunatic, claiming that this attitude is required for startup companies to succeed. |
Charx122:Okay. |
Charx122:I too know what I'm talking about. More than you can imagine. |
BRATISLAVA:He probably has a blueprint inside his head of how he's gonna treat his staff when he becomes CEO. An opportunity to show "pepper" to the "less fortunate". |
marsman:Are you from the Bafokeng community?
|
Kellzzyy:Why do you think it's an exaggeration? Is there no possibility that he actually did what they accused him of? With the knowledge you have of some African bosses, do you think these accusations are beyond him? |
Kellzzyy:Owning a business does not relieve one of his/her duty to uphold professionalism. It is not his workaholic tendencies that his ex-employees seem to have a problem with. It's his toxicity and lack of work ethics. Sending messages at 2.30 in the night and expecting an instant response from somebody in dreamland, insulting your employees (referring to them as 'pussíes' and 'motherfuckérs'), insulting their families, hiring, firing, then rehiring, body-shaming your employees, etc is your idea of a workaholic? Abegii...! |
meobizy:There is no such thing as "East African features". Charx122:There is no such thing as "a Kenyan look". |
It's a man's world.
|
BRATISLAVA:You really wonder. ![]() |
Poor thing just lost its way while flying around the vicinity. Damn! ![]() |
Mariangeles:Exactly. |
pocohantas:Ah!

Nursing is more challenging, but more rewarding. |
Klass99:Being named alongside J.K. Rowling. My head go swell well well. Thanks for the compliment. So, you are a Harry Potter fan? Never been keen on it, but it has always elicited extreme emotions from its fans. Klass99:I encourage the notion of sending less experienced staff on more challenging missions. I did that myself with the ones I had to supervise (including interns), but like you've noted she was only doing it to prove a certain point. Picking P to spite L. |
Klass99:No, I'm not. I must have mentioned it on some thread. My country? Hmm. Should I keep you guessing? ![]()
|
Rubyjade:Oh gosh Ruby. I'm so sorry. This your experience is sad. Forget your colleagues at work. It's your few "friends" and family that are kinda worrying me. You'd be justified in deleting their contacts from your phone. I've learnt to keep my friendship circle lean. Very lean. And even they, have to be tried and tested before coming into my circle. You'll be fine Ruby. |
Klass99:You too like story. ![]() She did that to a colleague of mine. Some members of the management were to take a trip to Ebène. His position was crucial, so it didn't come as a surprise that he was casually informed that he was to be at the work retreat to represent his department. I don't know whether she sensed his enthusiasm or something, but when she released the official email to the staff members (4 or 5 days later), his name was missing and was instead replaced by some other person from his department. Her reason was that, she felt that this other party "required more exposure". Indeed! On another occasion, when the organisation was in the process of diversifying its services, it was suggested from HQs that a new department would be created. Now, because some of us had prior experience in that particular sector it was unanimously agreed that we would take the rest of the staff through training on this new service, and even come up with a concept plan for that new department. I had been involved in that very same service with some of our partners in other countries. We were 3 of us. We started from scratch and came up with an almost detailed document. She'd see the 3 of us discuss in the boardroom for many hours, and when I finally sent her our final draft for review, she casually acknowledged receipt but mentioned nothing about when we would be conducting the training. When I inquired from her she casually dismissed me and said that she's identified a team of experts who would take us through the whole process. She saw us go through all the blood, sweat, and tears in coming up with a concept plan and training content. I'm not talking about a 5-page document here. She saw us working on that task like our lives depended on it, all this while she had her own "team of experts", yet she said nothing! Never in my life have I ever resisted the urge to slap somebody (and I've never even tolerated the idea of violence in my entire life). She was an expert in dishing out disappointments and she'd ensure that she'd do it right after you had put your all into something. She loved watching people feeling crushed. There's a condition in psychology to describe people like her - Sadistic Personality Disorder. There's another UAE story, but I cant get into details for now. This post is already too long. |
Klass99:Hehe. No Klass, Miss M.O wasn't Nigerian. She was from my country. We're not all docile and homely. It's a fallacy. We do have our nutties. LOL. |
