felixzo1: ENHANCE.. When will this program be starting? |
Learn to appreciate who u are and how u look. Dont conform to the world's standard. Butt or no butt, dress modestly and give glory to God. |
Entertainment id a powerful tool in the hand of the devil. Whenever a so-called christian finds him/herself on the spotlight, they curse God with their mouth, dress and dance seductively. All in the name of entertaining the masses. If you're a parent and ur children still admire davido, 2face, and co, u have a lot of wk to do. |
Beauty shud not roll ur head. Flee from fornication! It has serious consequences. |
mercylicious: @ Pavore, It seems u know aghamelum well... I'm very much interested in this, keep me updated pls. |
rareman: Thinking of coming to Nkpor next week @farmtech will be able to see you? I need to see your poultry farm, I want to learn from the masters.. Apitch have visited b4. U're also welcome. |
Apitch: Funny enough, the thread became dormant after it hit front page.. Maybe we're not much here. Pavore9: Maybe they have gone for New Yam festival! Bros, lt can't be all work!.. You may be right oo Apitch: Funny enough, the thread became dormant after it hit front page |
aAK1: Hello guys. I saw signs of coccidiosis with my broilers I'm about to start treatment but it is coinciding with 3rd vaccine schedule. Should I skip it, treat them first and vaccinate next week or should take the risk, vaccinate, and wait four days before treatment... Never vaccinate sick birds. Treat first. |
Anambra farmers, where are you people ? |
Were they vaccinated? |
Pls can u post some pig feed formula for those that will like to mix their own feed? |
Pls, which departments make use of rabbits for their practicals? |
Entchidodo: Looking to purchase Piggie manure in Abuja and environs...Competitive price per 50kg bag.. .. Somebody here wants to sell cheap: https://www.nairaland.com/1871116/poultry-manure-available |
pet01: @sleekman, you are right. I gave them interseryl which they got resistant to and decided not to give any other drug but observe them... If u can afford it, go for lab test with live birds. They'll conduct what's called "antibiotic sensitivity test" that will enable u know antibiotics that will work and those that will not. When I did mine, I found out that my birds are resistant to augmentin, fosfotrim, streptomycin, oxytetracycline and colistin. That means if I give my birds antibiotics containing any of these chemicals as the main content, a lot of birds might not respond to the treatment. |
pet01: Pls house, can someone tell why it is not advisable to change chicken feed from one producer/manufacturer to another one, after all they are the same mash or pellet as the case may be... If ur current feed is not that good, it is advisable that u change feed. The important thing is hw u go about it. Do u just change it suddenly and expect everything to go fine? The right way to do it is slowly. Mix the two feeds together in such a way that the proportion of the old feed will be greater - I'll suggest 80%. As time goes on, gradually increase the proportion of the new feed until about 2 weeks, when u can start giving them only the new feed. .. If u do it this way you wont be having problems of drop in egg production, diseases etc. |
sleekman: I rest my case with u. Arguing with u can be likened 2 some ill-doctrined christians of this age... We're all learning man. If my words were harsh I'm sorry. But here is where I got what I wrote about: http://hencam.com/faq/cold-weather-care/ .. In cold weather, the important thing is to close the side tarpaulines, make sure the birds are not exposed to cold wind and that the floor is clean. Don't waste ur money on heating. Adult chicken can cope well in cold so long as all those conditions above are met. |
yemmit90: Do you mean '200watts of electric lamps' or charging lamp, etc? Lamp is not that effective compare to coal. Just one heating coal pot in a well seal small brooding house is enough for your 500birds... It is not a good idea to seal everywhere. Ventilation is still very important. U hav to leave 2 small opening on opposite top sides of the cage. You'll hav to check the temperature from time to time to make sure your opening is not too big. |
sleekman: this is a misconception that needs 2b corrected. U don't only need 2 raise d temp in an area of brooding birds only. Even 4 mature birds u need 2 raise d temp either 2 maintain maximum egg production or help boost d birds natural anti-bodies fighting mechanisms. U must 1st and foremost concentrate on helping ur birds 2 naturally fight anti-bodies by helping 2 boost its immune system. Effective lighting, temperature, humidity, nutrient and wind speed control are essential 4 each of d birds immune system strengthening... Raising temperature for mature birds? Where? In nigeria's hot weather or in america's winter? In nigeria, even during the raining season all u do is to cover the pen with tarpauline/nylon. Dont waste money in heating. To us we might be feeling cold at 20 oC but to birds that is an optimal temperature. .. Another thing is this, if u heat one spot in the pen, birds are likely to get cold or die bc when they leave the warm spot to a cooler spot, they'll not store air under their feather and that will make them vulnerable to cold. |
jamp: give them neocyrel or keprocyrel. Hope d spelling is correct... He can combine keproceryl with tylodox. |
boluwajokosegun: @ Fartech , the land in Ikire is not part of river basin land hence it is not government property so u can buy & do all documentations.ok tnks. |
Keep it up @Op. |
femu: ... Zero internal consumption of pork in the country. What will happen if our border with Benin is closed..... I didn't know demand for pork meat is low in nigeria. This is different from what I've heard people saying. |
starnuel: So, what can be deduced from your arguments is that the black is only preferred for the low mortality rate, not for egg productions. Then, pass mark for brown specie provided intensive care is ensured... No, I didn't say black has low mortality. I said that blacks lay slower over a longer period of time than browns. They have higher body weight and eat more than browns. |
dejia: @ Boluwajokosegun: Yes i give them Moringa leaves, i have planted about an hectare of Moringa, majorly for my pigs, when i get the seeds, i intend to extra the oil and the remains, i will also give to the pigs, i have read so many things about it; It is a good source of vitamins and protein, it will cost me far less than soybeans.. Going through existing associatn will be less costly and less time-consuming. Radios and tvs will be great tools. I saw one programme on NTA where they spoke about ebola and pork. Doctors where also involve. |
cyborg1: In my own place, land preparation is required less even. We dry herbs around with non-selective herbicides and cut them off thereafter and arrange it. Cultivation is no longer required. You just sow the seedlings or plant the nursery. The skip of cultivation makes it far less expensive these day and many are getting back to the farm for that!.. You mean no tilling of land? What if it's hard? Can this be applied to maize farming also? I've come across "intensive no-tillage maize cultivation" b/4 and my questn hav always been what if the land is hard? |
jethro2: Please calculate with the lowest figure even after all requirement has been met. You're right my brother. |
AgrotConsult: you only showed me a link that support my opinon; anyway tanx alot for d link... I've done this research long time ago, but i cant find the site that says blacks lay longer. Brown layers hav a faster rate of egg productn than black. Browns also eat less bc of their lesser body wt. This is why browns are more profitable. |
mount1ng: Did I hear you say SCARECROWS! Give the birds two days, they will start perching on it. I am not talking from hear say. These birds are BAD and very intelligent. In the farm, we call them wi*ches. This is the period I dread most. Nothing scare the birds like Human. They study everything around them and operate likewise. You must be prepare for this period during you planting season... Why not try this effective mtd of controling birds? http://www.google.com/m?q=strips%20to%20scare%20birds%20away&client=ms-opera-mini&channel=new |
Nwogbe: I noticed a handful of my birds(just started laying for over a month plus now) are a kind of sick. Their poo is kind of watery &whitish but they r not too dwn per say. Pls wot drug will be gud for them since they just started laying of recent... Contact a vet for advice. |
AgrotConsult: i dont agree they lay longer than d brown- d only difference u see that is at the end of their production cycle they tend to be more robust & fleshy for meat and thats all... Check out this link: http://www.researchgate.net/publication/42973012_Comparative_Economic_Analysis_of_Black_and_Brown_Commercial_Layer_Strains_in_Nigeria |
jethro2: please check the market and marketing thread to get the answerThanks v much. |
