Poorly scripted drama meant for dullards and the likes. This is the real comedy central.

Folks should learn to respect a people's culture/tradition. Do not kill their pythons if it is a sacriledge in their community. Same way you do not show your face during oro festival in sw. Respect the culture of your host, it is not so damn difficult.

@italicized, a lot of guys out there are leeches and are lazy to carve out a niche for themselves, they go about preying on wealthy unsecured women and when they've had her, thy start siphoning money properties and others from her to themselves or a side chick somewhere.
@ bolded, true that!
It is not by force to marry but your line of argument above still holds for men with wealth. Leeching women have an eye for such men but it still doesnt stop the men from getting married. Folks should just free Linda abeg! Whether she marries or not is nobody's business. Her life, her choices. Who marriage epp?

i see this Linda getting married to a white man.
I'd do just that if I were in her shoes. Naija men got no love nor chill for her at all, plus they are not equipped for such an independent woman and might slow her down to a career halt.

It's whenever I read anything on Nairaland about Linda Ikeji that I realise that Nigerians hate and detest with a passion a successful, independent and rich Nigerian woman who no sell her nyash...who did it without a man. It pains them. Next thing na to say 'Go and marry'. Jealous fools.
Instead of us to use her as a example to our generation of girls who na follow a man based on money, we insult her....jealous fools.

She don get radio and TV station, jealous fools will be buying data of N50 for 1gig a night to insult her.
My brother, it is not just Linda Ikeji, it is everyone that seems to be doing better than them. Niggas hate what they don't understand, fear what they can't conquer! Come and see rejoicing when they read that LIRS was on her matter. Bunch of lousy lots. If you do not work in oil and gas or some other fancy industry, how can you make loads of cash from something seemingly ordinary? Something sinister must be going on. This is the mentality of the Nigerian folk.
CelebritiesRe: Linda Ikeji To Launch A TV And Radio Show, Shares Photos Of Her Office & Studio by Fawklicant: 9:59am On Aug 14, 2016
Linda Ikeji is a gossip blogger and good at the whole amebo thing. Imagine how people are already riled up here over her matter? Now imagine the argument that would be going on on her media pages? More clicks, more money! And jealous ones still envy while she makes a truckload of cash from the envy! Ride on bae!

What is wrong with some people sef? She is advertising her latest enterprise to enjoy better patronage and some people already have HBP? And they call it bragging? In showbiz, everyone finds a way to stay relevant. Annie idibia advertizes her kids/family, Denrele advertizes his madness, Davido...his childishness, Jim Iyke, his big boy swag, Aimakhun, her boring life etc So kini big deal with Linda's case, because from where I stand, I can see how she has inspired many folks to go into blogging.

royallord1:
those bullet belong to an automatic rifle presumably the AK47... and as such it isnt the civil war bullets... someone bought them had no need for them again then buried them.... i think it was bought during election period by politicians.. or the biafra agitators...
metal will always corrode if buried without proper care but bullets take very long to corrode... even at that i suspect its just dirt (soil stains) on the bullets... apply water and they are good for use...
Ak-47 was invented in the 1940's, civil war was 1967-1970. If they had no need for them, they'd sell them the same way they were bought. You dont have to counter a plausible argument without facts. These are likely civil war cache, explains why it'd be buried without protection.

These fishes are too young for harvesting. They ought to be left for some time so they can attain adulthood and full size.

That's the problem with Nigeria, you see a picture like this and everyone start thinking about their stomach and appetite. The most important question is what about tomorrow, the fisherman shouldn't be surprised when he goes back to the river another day and comes back empty.

Those young fishes he just caught should have been allowed to mature and reproduce so that in future there will be more. That's how sustainability and growth is achieved. And not by eat today and forget tomorrow.
Those 'young' fish there look like barracuda. Make them catch you inside water and only bones will remain within minutes.

Bia em, madam deal with your issues. I got enough ish to deal with than read every long epistle I see on NL. At the end of the day, it is your marriage, for better for worse. I''m not gonna be consulted during the good times, so I sure as phuck am not gonna waltz in during the bad times either. Too many people bitching about their private affairs online. Not a healthy development at all. Go see a counsellor who''ll tell you as it is, not this online feel good party. By counsellor, I do not mean a pastor either. Get a clear perspective of your issues devoid of religious sentiments.

It just shows how immature most of our young married folks are. Allowing the society to pressure them into submission. Fancy proposals, fancy engagement, fancy wedding ceremony then they cap it up with juvenile marital mentality and non commital sense of approach to struggles.

Both o' y''all need to grow the phuck up!

Car TalkRe: FRSC Between Non Offenses and Unjust Fines by Fawklicant: 9:07am On Aug 06, 2016
LizFem:
I have questions based on a personal experience,

1) if one is fined for driving with two 'worn out tyres' is one required to pay the fine immediately? the offence sheet says you have 7 days to make payment before being taken to court.

2)
Does the FRSC have the right to collect ones car keys even after no resistance whatsoever from the 'offender'?

3) Does the FRSC have the right to drive ones car into their premises while the owner is in the bank trying to pay the fine and without the owners knowledge and insist on the two tyres being replaced with new ones before the vehicle can be released?

4)How long is the grace period given by the FRSC before a driver can renew his license.

I will really appreciate answers to these questions of mine. thanks.
I'm not an frsc official but from experience, I can answer some of your questions.
1.You have the stipulated days to pay. You don't have to pay immediately.
2. Your keys will be collected after your car has been taken into their premises
3. You will be asked to drive your car into their premises, failure to comply, your car would be towed into their premises and you'd be made to pay the towing charges eventually. The offence for which you were arrested has to be corrected first so yes! You have to replace tires before vehicle is released to you.

4. To the best of my knowledge, no grace period. As soon as it is about to expire, go for renewal. Besides, you'd even get a reminder on your mobile phone to do so in most cases. Always stay on the right side of the law, at least try to.

bros, in civilised countries, she is cautioned and showed were they are by the officials.. she is delayed for a while cos of been schooled for the reason she should know where they are and let go. she is a senior citizen for Gods sake..pls let's stop been to strict with our judgement
She would not be given any warning, she'd be lucky if she is allowed to drive in the foreseeable future. You don't know where warning triangle is in your car as small as a car is neither do you know where fire extinguisher is? Two very important things that your life could depend on? You might as well not know where the spare tire is! Wrong on all levels.
Car TalkRe: FRSC Between Non Offenses and Unjust Fines by Fawklicant: 8:50am On Aug 06, 2016
tete7000:
Sadly the Road Safety guys can claim she couldn't produce it as at when she was booked and they were not under obligation to help her search for it. Had there been fire she equally wouldn't have the privilege of people helping her search for her extinguisher. It is an important piece of equipment she ought to be able to immediately access if need arises.

Let spare those guys, though they can be pain in ass sometimes (Just like they have been to me), in this case they were trying to help your mum. I have seen someone lose his car in fire because he didn't have an extinguisher and I have witnessed another motorist helped save another's car because he quickly produced his own extinguisher to help.
Spot on bros! A lot of people co,menting here are just being emotional including the @op.
His mum couldnt produce any of the items she was asked to produce and they were not under any obligation to help her search. If she had a flat tire or involved in a fire, how would she have warned oncoming motorists/tried to stop the fire?

A ticket already issued by the FRSC is irreversible, even if the corps marshall (oga patapata) intervenes, the highest he (corps marshall) can do is to pay the fine for the offender. That is how they operate, so your best bet is not to let them issue the ticket in the first place.

The op's mum broke the law and he started taking pictures and pasting them on social media even when her car is still with them? Dumb move, very very dumb move. Now they can even mandate her to come for compulsory training for some days and psyche eval before releasing her car to her.

You think you can just come to social media and post trash and enjoy a pity party even when you are monumentally wrong? You are acting emotionally not logically.

A lot of times, frsc would let you slide if it is a minor offence like tail lights malfunction or stuff like that, but tires/extinguishers/windshields/hydraulic jack/warning triangle and the likes are very necessary basics that they do not overlook and rightly so.

Be polite to law enforcement, and you'd be amazed at the results. I'm not saying you should lick butts or play suck up and go all paddy paddy, no! Be polite. Never got a booking from FRSC/VIO in the past 5 years and I meet them regularly.

Above all, make sure you are on the right side of the law.

I believe most people on Nairaland don't go to market while majority eat "mama put"

Last week, the price of rice increased by N1500 while Indomie Noodle is now N2600 (today) for bulk purchase from initial N2400.
A lot of my brothers from the southwest here don't cook. They eat Iya Basira! So you'd naturally expect them to believe this crap. They are just being delusional, only a few have started facing reality, e.g @idupaul
