Sad. It's wise to always look properly before committing to someone else as partner. That tendency has always been there, it's not an instant wave of terror. She sure had an inkling but probably decided to prod on hoping for change. Lesson: when you see signs of abuse, remove yourself and have it exposed. |
No one deserves to die because he/she is a lunatic. Especially if he is unarmed. This just goes to show that Nigeria is desperately unsafe and suffers from lack of security at all levels. Only God is the safety of the average Nigerian . |
Just another reason why Nigeria as a country will continue to retrogress. Our financial sense is riddled with poverty. I think to spend 5 billion naira on building repairs is not only stupid but callous! Of course, contractors have tripled their quotes since it's the government money. And the foolish govt will dole out such amount of money to contractors who will not care if the project reach completion or not. These kinds of behaviours do not invite progress and development. |
It's funny how much brutality is unleashed on ipob by the military, but the bandits and boko haram are on rampage, causing more harm in the country than ipob. A VERY INTERESTING COUNTRY!!! ![]() |
Off course, I've always known that southerners are deemed useless by the northerners, and yet, we are clamoring for one Nigeria? How long will the joke last? |
A civilized people would take what they need and leave some in consideration for others. An impoverished, foolish and unashamed people would struggle to get all the boxes of pepper to themselves and leave none for others. Worst still, they'll greedily sell their extras at high prices to those who couldn't grab for themselves. Does this describe a selfish, uncivilized and greedy Nigerian? YES! It's got nothing to do with who our leaders are because they are only a reflection of our greedy and selfish Nigerian society. I'm very ashamed! Nigerians are difficult to lead and govern. |
How silly it is for Nigerian media to continue to refer to these terrorists as bandits! I'm wondering if this is plain ignorance or political stupidity! |
Hmmm! How sad? And the president considers these killings as normal because that is what defines their identity - jihad! |
Advice for those praying for this country, stop ranting about politicians and focus your prayers on parents. They're the ones populating the country with scoundrels and criminals because of lack of training. |
When bunch of illiterates become leaders of a country, the result is always the same - they drag the country to the muds. A borrower is a slave to the lender. At this time it's not the Europeans forcing us to be slaves but the Ignorant leaders are foolishly subjecting the next 2 to 3 generations of Nigerians to slavery. Praying that the spirit of foolishness and stupidity will loose from their lives so that wisdom can prevail. |
This seems like an old news. Barcelona has obtained a loan to finance the new soccer season, and Messi's place is secured in their ability to finance his contract. Maybe PSG is another option for him regardless. |
The wickedness in Nigeria is inexplicable! Black people are naturally wicked. Anyway, the killer's family will experience such barbaric act even to the third generation. It's the principle of life on earth. |
Some points to note: 1. Again I say, parents train your ward properly. This is the result for lack of home training. 2. Leaders create opportunities for jobs, crafts and skills acquisition. This is the result of idleness. 3. Young people, focus on your studies, trade, projects. This is the result of lack of focus. All these events are avoidable if we learn to fight together against poverty instead of fight against one another to prove a dirty point that holds no significant future. A word is enough for the wise. |
It's good when a country takes initiative for their own survival and convenience. 30 years ago, UAE was like Nigeria. It's good to think ahead and I hope Nigeria will adjust its thinking and move forward not backward. |
He's just innocent and have no idea what he is saying as regards the impact or import on people's lives. His choice of message reveals his immaturity in the use of God's word in doctrine and teaching. For those who care to listen, indulging in such act outside the confines of marriage can bring years of pain and regret to you. It's not enough to undo what God has done in your life through Christ's sacrifice, but can mare you and your generation for life. |
This is another proof of a lawless country. It is unlawful to arrest a citizen in another country without the due process of extradition. The govt is lawless, the security agencies, lawless. Hope the UK pushes further probes and bring justice that makes much sense so that they can learn how to govern by strict adherence to the law. |
This is how poverty begins, and very common among Africans. Buying car is not the way forward. |
Its certain the North (hausas & fulanis) are wary of the east (igbos). There is this deep seated hatred from the north towards igbos. That being said, the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu is illegal. Having renounced Nigerian citizenship, he is a full fledged British citizen and should not be handled against his will on a foreign soil. Worst still, being brought into Nigeria without a valid travel docs and national identity amount to unlawful kidnap and false imprisonment. The illiteracy of the Nigerian security force is beginning to play out in the international scene. |
Is it now a criminal offence to stage a protest in one's own country? Bandits and fulani hoodlums are running rampage and no meaningful arrest has been made. How can a nation be so stupid when it's people are deemed smart and intelligent? |
You mentioned Eastern Europe, where exactly? I've been around Eastern Europe, it's tough there. I'll advise you to finish up your studies in Nigeria. Medical doctors will have to do qualifying exams in any country to be able to practice there. That's the standard. Starting again in a country you don't understand its challenging. I've seen too many Nigerians lost their dreams abroad because they're not well prepared. No university degree to begin somewhere. They regret it and end up frustrated. Even musicians and sports men and women from Nigeria who thought travelling abroad will make their dream bigger regretted their decisions. So if you're in school already, finish up first then think about travelling abroad. Education is priceless anywhere in the world. |
If billions of naira spent on renovating this building could not avoid this mess, then it's over. That building is finished! We don't need any oppressor to oppress us. We're good at oppressing ourselves! |
How sad! Unscrupulous elements roaming the streets everywhere. Bad upbringing is now taking a banging toll on the society. Parents, bring up your children properly so that even you will be saved from the repercussions. Murderers, robbers, rapists, defrauders and arsonists are people's children, not aliens! |
You can't hinder nature Nigerian leaders! God endowed His creation with the ability to adapt to changing conditions, one of which is migration. It's like telling the birds to stay back in the northern hemisphere during winter. Cold will destroy the specie. They know when to move to the south post in order to continue the cycle of existence. Same way, when conditions become hostile to people, the alternative bet is to move to greener pastures. Nigerian leaders should also know that the emigrants from Nigeria contribute about 20% of the GDP of the country through remittances back home. If they stay back to suffer the detriments of wicked and archaic system of governance in the country, they'll be a colossal victim of poverty like the rest of the unfortunate Nigerians who had no means to shift base to take a vantage outlook on life. A word is enough for the wise, and a stick for the bird's feet. |
This is why I think a 'one Nigeria' will no longer work on a long term basis. Hear what a Northerner has in his mind toward the South East. Why should other regions vote for a Northerner? What right do they have to power that other geopolitical regions don't have? Until the nation realizes that the Northerners level of education and exposure was one of the reason why their grip on power set the country backward since independence. |
Sad day for Nigeria! As a nation we continue to reap the result of low maintenance culture. For a plane to fall from the sky... its already dead on the ground before take off. Our quality assurance is zero. People are just not willing to put in their best to work but want to be paid at the end of the month. They could have flown without sufficient fuel, routine mechanical check, long term technical fault untreated etc.Condolence to the bereaved families. |
Lack of home training is the worst plague that is ravaging Nigeria today. It's being decades in the making. People having children with no plans of training and teaching good morals to them. Those children are now the adults terrorizing the nation nowadays. They're in political positions, schools, and other institutions e.g. marriages. Some of them are parents today, still breeding new generation of scoundrels, bullies, and criminals due to lack of proper training. The world will shake like drunken man in the future because of the presence of such people on the earth. There's no telling the depth of evil that sits inside them. My advice is, train your children to know and produce good morals. Teach them to recognize such unscrupulous elements everywhere and avoid them in a hurry. |
The south should team up and build sophisticated ranches for cattle rearing and breeding. The world has moved on from pastoral farming to industrialized farm. Teach them to move forward, not backward! |
Sad tales from Nigeria! I think they should revive the firing squad justice used in ending Anini and his gang in old bendel state in the early 1980s. Murderers, robbers, rapists, kidnappers, should be killed by firing squad if convicted in the law court. We shouldn't copy western nations that give life imprisonment. We're just not the same. Black people are more corrupt by nature than any other specie of humans in the world. |
You can only overthrow a govt that is functioning. In my opinion, there is nothing to overthrow. This govt is a spoilt milk that should be discarded (thrown away) before it kills all its citizens. We can do it through election. Just be aware that northerners are not after the interest of all Nigerians but their own selfish ambition - islamization. To be fore-warned is to be fore-armed! |
Ghana is far ahead of Nigeria in terms of long term planning for a business friendly environment. Forward-looking Nigerian businessmen are already moving their businesses to be headquartered in Ghana, while do you expect smart foreign business moguls to stupidly invest in Nigeria, a country that lacks foresight and have cows criss-crossing the country unhindered by any existing laws. We've always chosen weak and corrupt leaders whose selfish ambition run wild like a loosed bull. |
Hope Nigeria is not asking them to pay for a service they did not receive. Just as Nigerians are made to pay for electricity bill they did not consume. |
If Nigeria would wise up and process crude oil to a refined product they would not need those oil companies that are pulling out of Nigeria. As Qatar did, they have their own oil company that serve as the parent and regulatory company to all foreign oil companies e.g. shell, Total etc. |
