Hello, does anyone know how to go about inviting ones parent to the U.S?
Are you a USC or LPR? Then are you filing for your parents? This is a different process not covered in this thread.

If you are either of the above and/or any other status, and they are just visiting; your parents visit visa is same process as any other. You will only provide your address for the question 'where they will be staying' or electing to be the sponsor of the vacation.

OmoGomesIlorin:

It depends on how you are being asked.
For example there are two seun in the Art class, I met one of them and I asked him: who are you? he can either answer with:
I am [/i]seun (the son of) Osewa of Ogun state.
My name is Seun (the son of) Osewa of Ogun state.
Your comment has nothing to do with the topic.
And your examples are both singular tenses as you can see from the bold.
A name (singular) is a combination of [a) First Name b) Middle Name. c) Last Name d) Other Names]
The topic is about nitwits referencing name in the plural - "are" - "names"

Nobody says my house are Door, Roof, Window, Wall

Nobody says my car are tire, seat, horn, engine

So why do people say my name are? It’s so irritating

matify83:
A leaner government is what we have been clamouring for as this will reduce waste and redundancy in the federal civil service structure.

Nigeria’s economy woes for the past 20 years has very little to do with the size of the Federal Civil Service. A leaner government that doesn’t address over inflation of contracts that will continue to hemorrhage revenue to corrupt pockets at the expense of the citizens.

A 20,000 strong Civil Service that waste N1trn will not make a difference if the size is reduced to 10,000 strong and the same N1trn is wasted as contracts and corruption.

The savings on the salaries of the civil service cannot fix the economic issues.

We are not a producing nation industrially or in manufacturing. The agriculture we used to have is all but gone due to insecurity. We cannot even sustain a service industry because we don’t have electricity and roads.

These are the real issues and not Orosanye report.

If your TV screen is dusty and has bad reception, cleaning the dust alone will not let you get good viewing. You need to fix the bad reception.

OGSG announced N10k a month transport allowance for civil servants as part of palliative for the State. This is a state with 29000 civil servants and 6million resident. What is the impact of 29000 out of 6million getting transport allowance?

These are the stupid things people in every arm of the government is doing.

Buhari handed out palliatives for 8 years and there was no economic improvement. Tinubu has joined the bandwagon.

There is no nation in the world that can lift its citizen out of poverty or economic hardship by palliatives.

The nation is not civil service alone. The nation is the economic output of the citizens.

1.Things are extra expensive, don’t be fooled that your USD is a big deal… price of commodities will shock you…. I had to google their average salary-$5500 monthly.

2.everyone understands and can speak fluent English , but they choose to speak their Norwegian language.
Why should they speak English. They are not confused and immature like people who think speaking English instead of their own language is the best thing they can achieve?

3. Norwegian currency and Swedish KR are kind of the official currency, as I can see some store prices in KR and some in NOK.

4. Food selection is the worst I ever come across in my little traveling experience, it’s so worst I didn’t taste rice for whole trip, because I didn’t see a single restaurant that have rice on their Menu.. RICE
Same way your food selection is the worst for them. Must the whole world eat rice? They have existed for thousands of years and didn’t die for not eating rice. Because your food or taste palette is used to rice, don’t judge others to like what you are used to.

They have different type of snacks to what everyone else have… I really suffer oo.
snacks in societies is made from what they have in their society. Cultures and people are different.

5.They’re so extra polite and very friendly, everyone I ask for direction took their time to direct me, some will even walk you to a certain distance just to make sure you’re clear.

6. It’s very clean, the city, subway, buses.

7.They dress modest, all those pop culture no really reach here, everyone dress responsible.

8.There’re very few smokers, considering that it’s winter and I can say I didn’t see up to 15 smokers during my stay… And no one was vaping.

I kind of love the calmness of the city…
Will I go back to Norway - No.
Will I advise you to go - No.

But if you want to go,please carry plenty money for pocket and don’t stay in Hotel.. stay in Airbnb, so you can cook your own food.
Even KFC was banned here because of the kind of chicken they use, when you taste Norwegian juice, you can tell it’s juice from fruit and not the sugar we’re used to over here… They take quality of life very seriously I guess.

This is commendable
Kudos to the South Western states, they've been in front in dealing with the present economic issues.

The Governor knows there are people like you all over the State and country, thats why he can put this nonsense out in public, and you come out to say kudos to him.
NO STATE OR COUNTRY IN THE WORLD HAS EVER GOTTEN OUT OF POVERTY OR HARDSHIP THROUGH PALLIATIVES
Let's pretend a family with 2 kids in secondary school and a 3rd in university from Ogun State get these things. Thats N70,000.
What can 70k do to a family of 5 in Nigeria? Be honest with yourself.
Then the parents get free healthcare because they are elderly? No pregnant person, so no free N5k there.
Let's pretend the rice is sold at N10,000 controlled price. What of the gas and vegetable oil and pepper and tomato and onion and chicken and fish and meat and knorr needed to cook the rice? Will will they eat only rice for the next 4 years?
Deductions from civil servants is not cash to be spent. It goes to pension, so the 500m on paper is just going to HMOs owned by the Gov's friends. And how many civil servants are in the state compared to NON civil servants who have no link with this deductions? There are 6m people in Ogun State. Only 29,000 are civil servants. So what happens to the remaining 5,971,000 people in Ogun State?
How will that hep them over the next 6 months, or 2 years?
Civil servants (29,000 of them) get N10k a month to help with transport cost - What of the 5,971,000 non civil servants transport cost? Don't they need help too?
Where will the electricity to charge these okadas and keke marwas? Who pays for the cost of electricity to charge these things. Last last, its petrol gen that will be used to charge them. Who buys the petrol?

The governor and president do not have any sense, but its not really their fault. People like you allowed them be in governtment.

Daft post from another daft person.
She is not a government official.
She has no responsibility in fixing the road.
She has no involvement in being born from a family from that place.
Why should she be held liable for the damage caused by erosion or be expected to be involved in the decision, deliberation and award of contract in fixing that road.

Maybe its time females stop pandering to these artistes while on stage.
If they both went to dinner at Nobu, Mayfair, or L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon, Covent Garden, will it be okay for the boyfriend to get up from the table, leaving her (or any other girl in the world) to go help the female waiter - that has been waiting on them all night - in the staff break room with whatever the waiter needed?
There is no girl anywhere in the world that will allow their boyfriend do that with even the sister or cousin or friend, so why should it be okay with a stranger?

This will eradicate the long queues at the airport. Kudos
Long queues can never be eradicated at airports anywhere in the world. It’s part of aviation. 200-400pax boarding a flight multiplied by x number of flights per hour is not an anomaly.
The busier the airport, the more the flights, the more the passengers who must be on queues to do whatever they need to do.
Even if the govt agencies speed up their process, what of the airlines checking in and baggage process that’s takes the longest time?

What Bible Says About The Rich And Powerful Building Doomsday (Underground) Bunkers
So even the doomsday underground bunkers being built by the rich and powerful will not be able to save them from the day of God's wrath if they don't repent.

This is what happens when you read your bible without the help of the Holy Spirit.
Bunkers by rich and powerful IS NOT to avoid Rapture or death. The Rev 6:15-17 you quoted doesn't mean or refer to nuclear bomb which is what the bunkers are supposed to provide protection from.
Like I always say, a lot of supposed Nigerian-Christians won't make heaven at rapture. Is God going to destroy the world with nuclear bombs? Or what is this wrath?

Also, your stat is misleading (like so many things you post here). NL visitor map is Nigeria (53%), US (13%) UK (11%) Canada (3%) Ireland (2%) which is about 80% of all visitors. So saying mostly in West Africa and a few countries is kinda erm...

Mindset like this is why $ is N1,600. and people are protesting to feed today.
You aren't supposed to be on your phone during work hours if we want to be honest and ethical.
Are you asking people to demand monetary compensation for staying off their phones while at work?
We cannot build a global competitive economy with behaviors like this. We cannot progress as a country with behaviors like this. We will keep having idiots in political offices if we do not get serious with all aspect of our lives as a nation.
If it has gotten to a point where a company will require staff to submit phones everyday, then things are really bad for Nigeria

Many thanks for this.
Please would I still have to wait for interview date or can I get interview date faster through any emergency because she is meant to go back this summer.
Your visa application cannot be adjudicated based on a USC that isn't your immediate family (defined as child, spouse or parent by USCIS/State.Gov). There is no way to list her to "strengthen" your application.
Apart from your hesitation in reapplying, I think you stand a REALLY-VERY-GOOD-EXCELLENT chance of getting approved with all the other things going on for you after your 3rd refusal. Just make sure your business and income situation is above and beyond. Add you husband's income (convert to NGN) to the family yearly income in your DS160.
Can you also clarify your brother in the US is the parent of the niece with you or another of your sibling? Minors and others (sick or special needs) can travel unaccompanied with airlines. The VO can reason along this path...
WRT getting EAs, there are clearly define reasons for using it. Accompanying your niece won't exactly fit any of the moulds.
Summer is here, start hunting for dates by checking 3 times a day - everyday. Or paying others to do it for you.
WRT your 16 yrs old help, don't even bother. She is already an adult by US standards and should be in school or working (which makes her responsible for her visa and travel needs). She has no reason to return to NG with you. She will be seen likely to "run away". She is not an immediate family member or a distant relative - confirm this assumption. It's unfortunate, but it's a call you have to make. I had to make such a call Nov last year. The only nanny we used for 13 years was left behind when my family left NG Dec last year. We set her up financially.

If you both create time to log into your respective profiles at random times, with a maximum of 3 times a day, you will get appointment dates.
That’s what the agents do. They devote their time to log in and check for slots everyday and select the one that pops up. You pay them to do so for you.
An agent with 10 clients only has to log in with one profile and if there are 8 slots available, he quickly logs in with other profiles and may be successful with 4 clients selecting those slots before other people select the remaining slots.
