BarrElChapo:Everything in Naija is over hyped and bloody expensive. A low cost housing estate in Houston, Texas is far more beautiful and livable than this Banana island and other high brow areas in Lagos. |
How I found myself in this place is still a mystery to me. The annoying thing is that our so called leaders will jet out to Egypt to witness the parade, praise the country and come back to continue in their rudder less leadership in Nigeria |
It seems she is being starved of funds and is looking for alternative source of funding, of which launching of a book is part of the strategy. |
Stupid man! Chasing unnecessary clout. They will always behave as if they love Nigeria more than themselves. Give them opportunity in Nigeria, they will just loot and go back to their bases to continue living their affluent lifestyles. I don't support this government but Reno or Rhyno is a no go for me. |
shortgun:They don't wear seat belt in Onitsha and the whole of Anambra state. |
BrabusNG:You are right. In Eguns words, those designs could be someone's pride and happiness. |
BrabusNG:I am impressed with the simplicity of the POP/ ceiling design. Simplicity at its peak. Not all those crowded POP designs we see here. Fonyeri is doing well with that his signature Italian paint. Even Baba Egun shock sef wether na Naija |
MrIcredible:Good point. This is one area Nigerian Professors and researchers are found wanting. I don't want to sound negative but some of these researchers do that. Even those that collects research grants end up acquiring choice properties and living a flamboyant life. You will see their colleagues congratulating them and scheming to be part of the research team, all for their pockets. She must have distinguished herself to win the prize and she shouldn't lower her guard. I trust the Foundation to keep piling pressure on her to bring positive results in her research areas unlike government grants that ends up in flamboyant lifestyles and junketing from one country to another. |
I just hope that the enemies of the State are not the ones targeting security agencies? Targeting security agencies is a grave sign of terrorism. Most terrorists targets State's actors. I doubt if they were after Soludo. |
Lie lie. Human right Lawyer, Barrister Ubani obtained a court injunction that granted 2months extension of the deadline for the NIN registration. The government simply did not want to say that they were complying with the court order. See how they made it look as if the extension was their own decision. |
Make one sound lawyer use this case cash out naa. |
Nigerians! You were once full of praises for Buhari. Some can even fight for him or abuse other people because of Buhari and politicians. Yet, they will come online, behind their keyboards and be lamenting about bad leadership. Sorry people, the president and leadership of a country are a reflection of its people and society. Buhari is just a reflection of Nigerian citizen and larger society. |
Nigerian politicians! always looking awful - This nose mask even makes them look even worse. ![]() |
I am sure people would attack FG for this. I fully support this just that my concern is the corruption and waste of public funds and tax payers money collected. UK and other European countries do the same and are very concern about contents consumed in their country while payments made for the same contents goes to another country. Lack of trust has made Nigerians to always hate any government policy. FG should work hard to build trust among its people. Nigerian governments should rank among the least trusted government in the world. |
The Thai GF will be released later while the foolish boy will rot in jail or even injected with lethal substance. A Nigerian that later married his GF in 2002 that had two kids for him was arrested on drug charges. His wife and kids were taken by the government while the guy was sentenced to 32 years in prison. He is still in prison. His family in Nigeria has been trying to unsuccessfully connect with his two sons. I personally saw those kids in the village the first time they came to Nigeria in 2000 and they were about four years then. Drug is not good! |
I fear helicopter pass Dangote Trailer. |
People are saying since the birthday guy died, it must be food poisoning. So I ask, what would have happened if the birthday boy did not die? |
yinkaoke:The chair should somehow mirror the curtain or blind or even the centre rug and not necessary the paint on the wall. What type or colour of the curtain are you going to use? It is also a determining factor. However, dark chocolate leather or sued carton can go with this. |
twoMcfemad:Sure. Natural stones and bricks anytime for me. Get those Abeokuta/Ondo stones, break them to different pieces and sizes and get a good baba Lati to finish the work. You would like the natural feel of the building. Note also that those stones are not cheap except if you are residing within the SW states. If you have access to those stones and they come cheap to you, you may decide to cover a greater percentage of the wall areas with stones. The feel will be everlasting - come rain, come shine, it remaineth the same. Natural stones and bricks will always make your building to stand out. Whoever passes your street will always take a second look at the building. |
twoMcfemad:Use bricks for the front. The South African bricks if you have the money. Natural bricks makes the house look distint. Combine painting some portion of the walls white and some natural bricks not tiles. |
So my Nanny without a degree is earning more than a graduate in a government establishment? My wife' cousin, who has been unemployed for the last three years was asked by a rich importer to come and be his sales and bank officer on a salary of 45k with accommodation and transportation. The maigida in my place collects 30k every month and at least 1500 daily for washing tenants car. He charges 500 for each car he wash and he washes at least 3 in a day. Which means he makes not less than 60k every month. |
Their parents should be arrested also. You don't bring criminals into the world and expect to have peace in your homes. Those without means livelihood should stop having kids. We have many urchins in Lagos and I fear for the future going by what I am seeing - idle youths everywhere. |
n3xt:I am not an Engineer but I think the OP made it clear that water was not coming from the ground or capillary action. It has to do with powerful wind pushing rain water towards the door areas. Since the there is so much gap between the base of the doors and the ground, rain water is finding its way into the house. There should have been a little slopping at the door areas to allow reverse flow of water that may want to settle within the door areas or try to find its way. I think this is more of rain splashes than any foundation issue. There should not have been much gap between the base of the doors and the tiles Where I stay now, during heavy rain with heavy winds, water splashes in the balcony and settles in the balcony, which are later mopped off. |
EgunMogaji2:Thank you sir for this response. I have the same issue. I am considering using Nigerian tiles. My fears have been confirmed and I am on the right track to use Spanish or Italian for my bathrooms and other wet areas and the Nigerian tiles for the living areas. |
tico1212:When Nigeria and Nigerians were more productive - Producing things consumed in the country with exceptional quality. All those torchlight were being produced then by one company in Agbara. I have forgotten the name as one of our relatives then was working in the company. Chinese toy torch has taken over the market and all those Nigerian companies producing those torch light have all packed up and you keep wondering while dollar is rising. All those hawkers selling torch and radios sells Chinese made materials. The Chinese came with torch light that have radio, antenna and other features but less quality. The Nigerian manufacturers of those classic torchlights shown above were not innovative and under the influence of rising of cost of production could not compete any more. |
How much? |

Medical tourism is about the quality of service and not mere building. If you want, build a world class hospital and populate it with the kind of hospital workers we have in Nigeria, quack service will be inevitable. |
Hello People I don't like having altercation with contractor here and I apologize for that. I have learnt so much from this forum and using contractors from this forum is my way of giving back to the community. My action here was reactionary as I felt that I was being taken for granted. Adedward has agreed to come and assess the windows and what need to be fixed. He has given me his words that he would rectify those things and I have equally told him if need be, I will contribute to his expenses. See this incidence as a one off thing and such do happen once in a while and plead that people should not hold anything against him. I am not a tough or very rigid person, as I told him that if he had come clean and state his challenges initially, I would have supported him financially to rectify the issue. Everything that happens provides an opportunity for learning. I just say let me give an update on my altercation with him. I have equally taken down those comments in the thread at his request. Thank you. |
