Adedward: |
Ibori apart, British are the most hypocritical set of people. So selfish and self centred, even within Europe. I bet you, they are still keeping Ibori's loot to themselves. Forget the figures being brandished. These guys haven't returned up to 10% of the loot. The crown court will give an order for permanent forfeiture of the loot, which will be used by the British. |
Dijita:Lucky you bro! Lucky you! I wasn't lucky with Adedward as you were. He delivered broken windows to me, incomplete net size and worst of it, put an empty white pipe as burglary without iron! Yes, you heard me right, white pipe without an iron in one of my large windows he supplied. I have been asking him to come and rectify this for the past 7 months. He kept shifting the goal post. He told me to get someone, may be another aluminum person to estimate the cost of fixing those things mentioned and he would reimburse the aluminum guy. He was given the quote of what it would cost to change the broken glasses, put the correct window net size and replace the empty pipes he put as burglary, but he vehemently refused, saying it was high and that he would come himself or send someone to fix them. Bro, we have been on that since. He hasn't yet come, neither has he sent anyone. Series of messages were sent to him to know the time he would be coming but he refused to answer, neither did he reply my call. I am not here to rubbish Adedward as it is not in my character. I always exercise patience, even with my workers and my subordinates. I give people time to correct themselves and make amends. However, I hate it when I am being taken for granted. I will keep using people from this site for my project. I have had fantastic guys worked on my projects from this site. Notwithstanding, I am still weighing my option and watching him on 3D. I am waiting for his rebuttal and challenge, if he is up to it. |
Same in Nigeria. Some struggling parents believed their sons or daughters are bona fide students in the University without knowing that some are non academic students. |
AsomughaChuks05:Easy bro! Chest beating won't take you anywhere. Chest beating has always been the downfall of people. Excited over little things. Learn to manage expectations. Nairalanders always have the impression that people from other zones beefs them whenever their governor does any little good. If FG doesn't approve these routes, then nothing. I hope they do. |
PROUDIGBO: |
Yet, people were arrested last week, accused of spreading rumour about the health of the president. Africans! We can never change. While hide it in the first place? |
Buying weapons from the countries that were at par with them in 1960 - China, South Korea, Pakistan - we are hardly an innovative and productive country. Always beclouded by poor sense of reason and patriotism. A typical Nigerian government will continue to import something instead of encouraging a local manufacturer - Ethnic and sectional leanings will always becloud their sense of judgment. |
Nawao. I hate hearing about exit of foreign investors. These are the people that creates real value and employment. Most indigenous investors are more or less round tripping, waiting for government patronage. Late last month, an investor that wanted to partner with my client in the free trade zone, onne, called that he was pulling out, citing inconsistency from the government regulators. This was a project that could add not less than $20m and create some jobs within the local economy. |
Our standards are terribly low in this country - I will keep saying it. Let the ignorant people keep abusing me. It is only when you step out of this country that you will come to understand the magnitude and quantum of backwardness our leaders have bequeathed on us. We have passed this kind of structures despites all the funds. Compromising standards to have excess money for looting. see the rubbish being shown up there - whether privately owned or government owned, we should up our ante in the construction sector. The stadium of a 10th grade club in UK is far better than all these rubbish. Even the training pitches of some hotels are far more better than these. Look at the grasses sef - They should just turn them to ranch and allow the cattle to feed on them. Aesthetics is always part of building and we lack that in all facets of our build industry. |
We are in the worst unemployment situation in history. This is the worst time to be a graduate or even a Nigerian. I have many people's CV and yet nothing is forth coming. Some are becoming depressed and the state of despondency in some is frightening. It is even worse to be out of job at this time. I pray God create a way for the teeming youths that are struggling. Unemployment could be depressing and makes one to loose self esteem. |
Yet when the see refreshment and entertainment as an expense in a company's account, they will want to add it back to profit and tax it. Here, they want N1.4bn as entertainment for themselves. I have worked with FIRS several times, representing clients. They offer you just table water and ground nut when you come to their office for audit. |
Our standards are terribly low in this country. Even other African countries could put up far more quality build than these roads I am seeing here. Why cant we do solid things for once? These governors travel abroad and see well marked roads with covered drainage but will come hear and commission sub standards infrastructures. Ok o. I don talk my own. |
oz4real83:The OP is right. Wealth has to be measured per capita. Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa but when you situate it with our huge but very unproductive population, it becomes the poverty capital of the world. Nigeria economy is 25th largest in the world but when you consider the poor economic development indices and the unproductive population, even the 50th placed economy is far better than her. GDP alone is not a proper indicator of wealth but rather GDP per capita. |
post=99872274:It is not about been a commercial city. It is still about the mentality of the people. An average Onitsha/ Anambra man is very price sensitive, especially the traders. They will rather use GUO at 15k than Arik air at 45k to fly from Lagos to Onitsha and return. Anybody living in Onitsha will gladly fly to Asaba than using that Umuleri Airport with potential armed robbery menace on the airport road. The siting of that airport in that area is a big minus. I come to Onitsha regularly and usually land in Asaba before moving to Onitsha. Why would I want to use an airport situated miles from Onitsha? Considering the way people in that area behaves, I fear the security situation along that airport road. Airport road is usually targeted by robbers to rob people going or coming from the airports. I am not hating o but if you ask me, the money should have been used to fix all the bad roads in Onitsha and Nnewi and give the cities a facelift in terms of beauty and livibility. Onitsha is still far from what a modern city should be and Nnewi is even worse, with dusty roads and decrepit drainage systems.

|
Parents should also watch their children well to understand their emotional state of minds, tolerance and whether they will be able to withstand depression, insults and abuses. |
spyder880:Men, I love the way you used beams to support that decking without pillars in the centre despite the big sizes of the space. I hate seeing columns in the middle of the living room. |
Onitsha has always been a heartland of lawless. People are there because of the money. If not, they would have disappeared. Very crude, disorganised, crowded, polluted and uncivil. |
tonididdy:Are you the project contractor? ![]() |
Where is DJ s Switch? She is now chilling at council flat in Ontario being protected by the Canadian government as an asylum immigrant. Na her own better pass. I hardly take Nigerian youths serious in any undertaken. Just flash some cash before them and they will loose their senses, including the so called human right crusaders. What I saw with SUG in the university was something else. Even our departmental president then had to set up a bar joint in school using the department funds. Corruption everywhere! |
Tufiakwa! Nigeria and mediocrity. Surulere is now the waste bin of Lagos state with dirts everywhere. Poor drainage system. Let the masses continue to worship these leaders as I know that some people will be here praising and defending them. These solar lights do not last up to six months for lack of care and maintenance . Solar system requires constant care and monitoring but we are in a country where maintenance culture is on recess. |
He shouldn't disappoint us with any corruption charges. Amos Adamu was a big flop in FIFA Executive council. He disappointed a lot of people after being found guilty of corruption. Please don't soil your hands. Guard it with all diligence. Tell them that Nigerians could be trusted with public office. |
EgunMogaji2:Grand Khandi, you know, I borrowed your words in that last paragraph you quoted. ![]() If it is not simple, then it is not worth it for me. By the way, these pictures are breath-taking. The problem is getting the person with the right tools and detailing to replicate the internet pictures. It is always difficult. What you ordered Vs. What you got always has a wide difference. Any way, there are still fantastic guys doing beautiful stuffs. |
micgray100:You are right. I am not an interior designer but once I see an eye - catching design, I know. I could as well create my own design from scratch. n3xt is excellent with minimal designs - both interior and exterior. The more lean a POP or TV stand is, the more appealing ambience it radiates. Well, each to his own. What you may consider grotesque may be a pride to someone else. |
n3xt:Less is always beautiful. I will take minimal decoration over cluttered and complicated one anytime - see how simple that TV stand looks. Add some greenery there like live green leaves plants in a pot and the place will look extraordinary to those that loves beauty, calmness and nature. |
My age mate - But she looks older than me sha ![]() |
Nigeria is just a heap of human flesh without any brain. We hardly coordinate our governance properly and there is so much misplacement of priorities in all spheres of life. I fear the outlook of the country in the years to come with this explosion in population with diminishing opportunities. |
Fine design. At least, not like the usual Nigerian building design. Contemporary architecture should be encouraged and not all those bad looking buildings. |
Who appropriated for the money to be spent? Is it his personal money? In UK, elected officials cannot even make a pledge talk more of giving out money. All money spent must be appropriated for and approved. Here, governors will be dolling out millions of Naira to people and people will be commending it. Government is not a charity organisation irrespective of the good intentions of giving out the money. That's the same way they take out money from the coffers without checks and balances. |
And one Senior Manger in First bank, who is my friend, was arguing with me yesterday, defending Ibori because he is from the same Oghara village with Ibori. Nigeria's problems transcends our politicians. The citizens thinking is just too wack for my liking. Citizens here includes educated and non educated. How could a responsible person defends such massive loot? |
Righteousness2:Nigerians and invocation of God's wrath? God is not human and He does not think they way we do. If God were to be human, everything would be destroyed. I still believed that we have a very merciful and forgiven God. Lets stop asking God to pour out His anger. He does that at His own time. If He should do as we want Him, those calling on Him to pour His anger may not be spared also. |
