At least, I am not doing badly here. I can still afford to provide myself with 24hours electricity, have access to paid servants, go anywhere, visit my lovely extended family members (the good ones), create a future for myself, have my own house and definitely hope for the best in the future.

I work for clients in PH. Black soots every where. My toes turned black in the guest house we stayed. The whole wall, painted white, was looking so ugly. They need to do something about this black soot of a thing.

I paid 410K
410k /90 is like 4,555 per sqm

And they came out nice? I don't know the reason behind the cost variations in POP among installers.

5500, 6000, 6500, 7000, 7500, 8000, 8500 are the prices per sqm being brandished around.

We are paying the POP inclusive of material, which is charge per sq m and not buying the materials itself.

Put a modern cabinet and come back again after two years or when the tenants leaves, the cabinet would just be useless.

The rate of tear and wear and depreciation of assets in rented apartment in Nigeria is high. May be owing to use of inferior materials in the construction.

What could cause the problem?

1. Collision - Obstructions (kids bike, stone, wood, steel etc) on the gate track can make the gate bump and the rollers fall off track.

2. If too much force is applied when manually opening the gate and it jumped over the end stoppers on the gate track, the gate will fall.

3. No end stoppers fitted on the track.

4. Track Design - I’ve seen some designs where angle irons are used for the track. It’s cool but your track must be very close to the ground per adventure your roller went off track, the gate won’t fall off.

5. Guide Roller Size - if you check the size of the guide roller in the accident pic and mine, you’ll see mine are quite bigger which means better protection for the gate.

This is why I fear taking up a humanitarian assignment in the North East. We had engagement with an international NGO for an assignment in Dikwa, Borno, but the fear of any Boko ambush made me to jettison joining the team at the last minute, even though the fees offered by the NGO was quite good.
