Below is extract of news from INEC site regarding the primaries:

6th June 2021

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has advised all political parties intending to sponsor candidates for the Anambra State Governorship election scheduled for 6th November 2021 to conduct valid primaries and nominate only qualified candidates for the election. It warned that legal action could be taken against any political party that submits the name of a candidate who falls short of the required qualification as stipulated by the law.

According to a statement issued at the end of its meeting held on 4th June 2021, the Commission reminded political parties participating in the governorship election to hold either direct or indirect primaries between 10th June and 1st July 2021. Every political party is also required to forward the name of the candidate who emerges with the highest number of votes to the Commission as the party’s candidate.

The statement, signed by National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Barrister Festus Okoye, also affirmed that Sections 4.5(1) and (2) of the INEC Regulations and Guidelines for the Conduct of Political Party primaries requires political parties holding direct primaries to make the list of their members available for inspection by the Commission’s monitors, their aspirants and party members.

For parties holding indirect primaries, the statement partly reads: “the list of delegates must be made available to the Commission as well as aspirants at least seven days before the conduct of primaries. Similarly, Sections 9(1) and (2) of the same Regulations and Guidelines require political parties to make available to the Commission the list of aspirants seeking nomination to contest for elective offices and the list of members of the election committee of the party conducting the primaries.

The statement reads: “Political parties are enjoined to conduct valid primaries and avoid acrimonious, opaque and skewed primaries leading to avoidable litigation. To this end, parties must screen their candidates. A political party that submits to the Commission the name of a candidate who does not meet the qualification as stipulated in the law shall be guilty of an offence and may be proceeded against by the Commission.”

On the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Election, the Commission will publish the List and Particulars of nominated candidates in their respective constituencies on 5th June.

It urged public members to check the published list on the Notice Board at any INEC Office in either the Constituency of Area Council where the candidate intends to contest.

Okoye said: “Any person who has reasonable ground to believe that any information given in the affidavit or any document submitted by a candidate is false may file a suit in court against such person seeking a declaration that the information contained in the affidavit is false. If the court determines that any of the information contained in the affidavit or any document submitted by that candidate is false, the court shall issue an order disqualifying the candidate from contesting the election.”

They should come and remove the ones at Badore/Ado road, Ajah. I still wonder who gives these women belle.

My brother, I missed Nigerian dishes very well then. It was mostly during one birthday celebration or the other, especially from the ladies that we got opportunity to eat another quality Nigerian food. I wasn't a good cook then.

I hardly associate with my countrymen outside Nigeria. Even as a student in UK then, all my friends, project group and seminar teams were people of other nationalities. I deliberately avoided Nigerians. I associated with Nigerians during party times, get together and any occasion or opportunity to eat Nigerian dishes once again.

I am already working for a client, updating their payroll template to capture the recent finance act amendment. The stark result is reduced net pay for staff and increased PAYE. These are the money that would still be looted by corrupt government through frivolous award of contracts to cronies. Very soon, companies would be audited by the tax authorities based on the new finance act. Better comply to avoid being slammed interest and penalty.

Corruption is the most singular disincentive to tax payment by Nigerians. We have the believe that our taxes are not being properly used and so, there should not be any need to pay tax or increase the tax burden, which is right anyway.

Nigeria is just an interesting place. All these ten ways to do this and do that don't work here. The environment is so unforgiven to any struggling person or family and capable of distorting one's plan.

Ok. If they specifically mentioned interview invite in the mail, then congratulations and get set for the call. It means your application has been reviewed by the recruiting manager and progressed to interview stage.

Did they state the date for the interview? Short listing is different from invitation for an interview. Invitation for an interview must indicate: date, time and venue. Are these three things in your email interview invite?

Short listing or long listing for an interview sometimes may be done by the HR or system generated. The recruiting manager finally selects applicants from among the short-listed to appear for the face to face interview. So, be sure of the one you got.

Most of the time, the system does the short or long listing of applicants based on certain parameters and codes which are embedded in the system to help it scan through thousands of Cvs and shortlist applicants. Those short-listed will get automated email beginning with: no-reply@....

Proper interview email is sent most times by a natural person with a known name from the company.

This is one in the series of recruitment stages. Getting a place into any multinationals is never an easy thing and, once you are able to break in, you are in for a successful career.

Have you had any interview or test with Citi? If yes, there is likelihood that you were successful in that very stage of their recruitment and the company is progressing with your application.

However, if you have not had any interview or test and you got this message, it may just be a system generated email informing you of receipt of your application which has now been entered into their talent pool for possible consideration by the recruiting manager.

Nevertheless, don't be overtly worked up or tensed. Recruitment by multinationals extends up to a year and the waiting time could be 'killing and tensed', especially if you don't have anything doing at the moment. I have been there before and so I am abreast of how their recruitment works.

Engage yourself in other things and hope for the best and also expect the worst as well which in most cases is a rejection email at any of the recruitment stages.

The highest rejection mails received were between 2009 to 2012 while in UK as a masters student applying for jobs in UK. Professional jobs were many but I was getting rejection up and down till I borrowed myself sense and started applying for care giver job, security and farm worker. That was when I got called to start a care giver job and that was the only job I did in UK. Rejection emails for professional jobs and internship I applied should be up to 200 then.

Not having the permanent right to work in UK was also a contributory factor while companies rejected me left, right, up and down

I have also been donating my widow's mite during church offerings for the University. The university is owned by the Catholic Arch diocese of Lagos. Every catholic church in Lagos takes offering every third Sunday of each month for the University.

Airlines will not even like it. They like it the way it is as it saving them cost. They prefer the status quo. No inflight snack serving.

I felt the same way when I was leaving in 2009 for masters program in UK. When I arrived, the place was so boring for me that I could not wait to return back to Nigeria. I stayed in UK for three years and when an opportunity came, through a job, for me to return back to Nigeria, I grabbed it and came back.

Since then, I have developed apathy towards living abroad and the feeling of leaving great family and friends behind weighs me down when any thought of relocation crosses my mind. This has made me not to be bothered about any relocation and I have completely focused on carving a life for myself and family here in Nigeria.

The only thing I did was to give my kids the opportunity of being born overseas. They have the so called foreign citizenship but they will remain with me here till they are off age to decide what suites them. Nigeria is bad, very bad but sometimes, certain things still makes me to still stay.

This is my own submission and I am in no way advocating that people should stay. Make your decision based on your own peculiar circumstances.

This kind of thing happened to my former senior colleague who had a beautiful wife. The wife is a typical socialite as she owns exotic boutiquea. All of sudden, the man said he wanted to be a pastor and was dragging the wife into the religious circle against her will. It created serious marital issue and they had to temporary separate.
