PoliticsRe: What Are The Benefits Of Being a Majority In Nigeria? by gaddafe(m): 1:59pm On Jun 03, 2012
afam4eva: I've been thinking of one thing ithat I have benefited for being part of a Majority Ethnic group, but nothing comes to mind. I think the minorities are having it better than the majority groups. They have a ministry dedicated to their region. Their people are been offered scholarships to go study abroad and so on. So, I think the status of being part of a majority ethnic block does not help one's course in Nigeria.
Pls i had to correct you here
1. The ijaws/SS are not the only minorities in Nig
2. You said they are been offered scholarship. By who? Is it the one offered by the fed govt to the criminals that challenged it to a gun battle or the various state govt.
3. You said they have a ministry. Just as we have many other ministries that are not functioning. I wouldn't care less if the ministry is scrapped. It is just another way of building another cabal.

Your complains would have been valid if the ministry for Niger Delta affairs or the NDDC was functioning up to at least 10% capacity.
PoliticsRe: Governor Amaechi Awards Himself Lifetime Pension by gaddafe(m): 12:31pm On Jun 03, 2012
merengue: http://ynaija.com/hurray-gov-amaechi-secures-juicy-pension-for-himself-and-deputy/

Yesterday, May 31, Gov. Rotimi Amaechi signed a bill which would basically ensure that he continues to enjoy the perks of the governor’s office after leaving the office. The bill, which is titled The Rivers State Governor and Deputy Governor Pensions and Fringe Benefits Bill 2012, is the brainchild of the executive and was forwarded from the Governor’s Office to the House of Representative for a speedy passage.

Despite protestations from pressure groups in the state, the Rivers State House of Assembly went ahead to pass the bill on the 22nd of May by an overwhelming majority. And the sweetened deal was finalised yesterday with Governor Amaechi’s assent.

Consequently, Amaechi and his deputy, Tele Ikuru are entitled upon exit from office to benefits worthy of Wall Street executives, including:

100 per cent of their basic salaries
Two choice houses in any area of their choice in Rivers State and Abuja.
Three cars, replaceable every three years.
300 per cent funding for any furniture of their choice.
20 per cent funding for utility, 10 per cent funding for entertainment and 10 per cent of same for houses of their choice.
Free medical expenses for him and his immediate family.
Security details that will include two officials of the State Security Service (SSS), one female officer of the same department and eight police officers for personal and domestic security.
Domestic staff including a cook, steward, gardener, and others. All the domestic staff, including drivers shall be pensionable.

In addition to the executive perquisites bill, other bills signed into law by the governor on Wednesday include the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Amendment Bill 2012, the Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools’ Board Bill 2012, the Rivers State House of Assembly Service Commission Amendment Bill 2012 and the Rivers State Water Sector Development Law 2012.

that would be as dumb as voting someone because he was shoeless...
I was about to say the same thing. What has politics got to do with religion? Are they similar in anyway?
PoliticsRe: Political Parties Appeal To Buhari To Withdraw Statement On Bloodbath by gaddafe(op): 6:42am On May 18, 2012
I honestly think there is a plan to rig 2015 elections.
PoliticsPolitical Parties Appeal To Buhari To Withdraw Statement On Bloodbath by gaddafe(op):
The Lagos League of Political Parties (LLPP), on Thursday, appealed to former Head of State,Major General Muhammadu Buhari(rtd)s to withdraw his statement threatening bloodshed in the 2015 polls.

Major General Buhari(rtd) served as Head of State from December 31, 1983 to August 27, 1985, when he was toppled by retired General Ibrahim Babangida in what could be described as a palace coup.

In a statement signed by its Lagos State chairman, Mr Udoka Udeogaranya, the LLPP said it considered the statement as being capable of affecting national peace, progress and civility.

“We will like to remind us all that many people in Nigeria have previously lost their lives because of the heightened passions usually caused by such statements,” the group said.

It noted that, as participants in the April 2011 general election, the LLPP could attest to the huge progress recorded by the Goodluck Jonathan administration in the conduct of the polls.

“The progress recorded in the 2011 polls clearly contrasts with the previous one of 2007.

“Little wonder, all the opposition parties in Lagos State, for instance, congratulated the winning party and that has provided a peaceful environment for governance in the state,” it said.

The LLPP, however, advised all politicians to allow those elected to be able to deliver to the electorate the promises they made to them during the electioneering.

in other words the legislatures are irrelevant govt agency/org. If i'm to understand d agf, he is simply saying the legislatures are clowns and their findings should not be taken seriously as they are not the agency who should do that.

News Cash Money’s head honcho Birdman a.k.a Baby a.k.a Brian Williams recently revealed in an interview that he wasn’t tripping over Jay-Z’s 2011 H.A.M diss.According to Baby,it didn’t mean nothing to him when he heard the diss(yeah right) If you all recall, back in 2010 Jigga was named MTV’s hottest rapper in the game.Baby publicly questioned the title given to Jay and suggested Lil Wayne was the hottest M.C in the game(yeah right, with all the lollipop he’s been singing abi?)
Baby claimed Wayne was making more money than
Jigga and that Wayne was also a better M.C than
Jigga(Baby cool down bros) This led Young Hov to air the Cash Money Man out on 2011′s H.A.M(Hard As A Motherfucker) Jigga had this to say ‘you got
‘baby’ money/you aint even got my lady money
(yep,Beyonce even get money pass them) Lil Wayne eventually ran to save his daddy’s ass by dropping a diss for Jay as well on The Carter iv record-it’s good…Wayne raps ‘i got your baby
money/kidnap your bitch and get that how much
you love your lady money(that one pain sha) Anyway Birdman says the issue was blown out of proportion by the media and he couldn’t care less
about the disses(like say him get choice) lol. Wonder why he waited 3 years before saying
anything about the situation? Comme

It seems Boko haram are loosing . I'm beginning to see why Gej must have said by june it will be over in some states.

Moreover why should the soldiers leave there? The area is troubled hence the need for their presence.
Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by gaddafe(m): 4:49pm On Mar 30, 2012
^^ war is not 1+1 or 2+2

Like i said earlier if you want to know the strongest army call them to the battle field.

If you want to go believing SA has the strongest army. Well goodluck 2 u. Just be ready to defend your stand when you are required in a seminar situation when the facts are pointing otherwise.

You said their level of training. How do you train with a specific equipment when you dont even have it? In terms of equipment and all that, give it to Libya. Even after the war and fall of gadaffi they still have the strongest army, if i'm to go by your standards

Why don't you check this site
www.globalfirepower.com
Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by gaddafe(m):
Is the topic ''which african country's army has the best accomplishment or which african country has the strongest/formidable forces''
In order to really know which army have the strongest forces, they will need to test each other in the battle field without external interfarence.

Global world fire power rates Libya as no1 in africa. CIA fact book states that there are many criteria to judge the strongest army hence look:
In terms of largest soldiers(quantity)-nigeria is no 1 in Africa and no 6 in the world. Now this matters when it comes to a war situation.

In terms of quality and amount of Equipment (that is if u produce them etc)-Libya is no 1 in africa

In terms of soldiers fit for the job (that is using the rigt people for the job not using a 60 yrs old man for a job meant for 27 yrs old) - Nigeria is no 1 in Africa and no 10 in the world.

Infact when i checked the criteria used in judging the strongest soldiers according to Cia books, Nigeria was always ahead other african countries except for equipments and all that. Pls note these are not all the criteria used ooo. I only listed the ones i know people might be interested in this thread.

PoliticsRe: Reps Reject Motion To Return Police Checkpoints by gaddafe(m): 2:42pm On Mar 14, 2012
kinguwem: Hon. Friday Itulah has relatives in the Police. He wants to resuscitate them. In which cities of the world he has travelled to did he see Police roadblocks like in Nigeria. The sight of policemen collecting N20 bribes at roadblocks was an eyesore. I suspect that a lot of robbery operations were planned and cordinated at checkpoints. Lets support the new IGP and say no to roadblocks. There should be effective highway patrols and creation of emergency response centres and squads.
Robbery attacks are not coordinated at checkpoints, you know that.
There are no highway patrols and even if there is, vehicles used are not yet sufficient, hence their presence is not being felt. I'm not against the IG's plan but the timing is wrong. He should have perfected in the patroling stuff before banding the road block.
