Ishilove: I agree. We flog the iranu out of her first, and the educate her on these ills you have mentioned, liberally spicing it with brain resetting beating each time she forgets the education I'm not sure the beating works in this case. If it did, there wouldn't be teenage pregnancy like we experienced in our time. You know the worst, they were impregnated by the broses that are shouting reset were responsible. |

jamesversion: The parents have to be an exemplar to their kids, else the actions of the parents is inherently hypocritical.
It is expected that your child should look up to you for good. That is the basis.
I sabi Bible na. I repented when I was 12yrs old. I'm late 30s, e no easy sha as devil no dey gree, especially with women. That's the summary, the reason why beating isn't the solution. There's a place of education in the family. The child's chat posted shows she's very informed and no amount of beating will take away that information/knowledge she has. It is in their place to educate her on the ills of engaging in such acts while also trying to get her engaged in productive activities, and teaching her how to select her friends/acquaintances rightly. |

That is how an elder brother acts, if not, inside this Nigeria, they will mess his sister up badly.
Also, For your reading delight. Proverbs 13v24: Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
Proverbs 23:13&14.
13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish them with the rod, they will not die. 14 Punish them with the rod and save them from death.
Proverbs 20:30
30 Physical punishment cleanses away evil; such discipline purifies the heart.
You still deserve better planking for your miserable advice to him. Better 2x2 plank on that your coconut head. Lifeinlight: one of my neighborh's child steal alot. His elder brother and father gave him a thorough beating. The moment he remembers that if he should do anything stupid, there are people standby that'd beat the living day light out of him. This boy is now a complete changed person. He should be 24 by now. Beating help alot!
I don't know if you're a religion person or not, even the Bible support spanking a child that's going astray. I can't really recollect the Bible verse though.
foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him". In my opinion, beating can correct ill behaviors however, things like this need emotional intelligence to educate the child on why this shouldn't be her priority. She's shown she's knowledgeable albeit, from the things she's heard from a manipulation perspective. Therefore, what is needed is using the trust the child has in you to reorient her in the right path truthfully. |

Food › Re: New Year: Who Can Help Me With How To Cook Fried Rice For My Kids by GboyegaD(m): 9:07pm On Dec 29, 2023 |
mariahAngel: Recipe for basic Nigerian fried rice.
Ingredients for chicken and stock:
- Chicken - Onions (chopped) - Curry powder - Thyme - Seasoning (knorr chicken preferably) - Salt - A little water (for stock)
Ingredients for vegetables:
- Onions - Carrots - Fresh peppers (ata rodo) - Green peppers - Green beans - Spring onions - Curry powder - Thyme
All vegetables chopped.
Process:
Step one
Season and cook your chicken as you would with the listed ingredients, until done. Be sure to have some stock in your chicken, because you're going to use it to cook your rice.
Step two
Cook your rice with the chicken stock and water as required, add seasoning and salt to give taste to your rice. You can also add curry powder to the rice for aroma and colour. Seasoning your rice ahead will make it taste better when you eventually mix with the stir fried vegetables.
Step three
If you want your chicken fried, you can start by frying your chicken in the same oil your going to use to fry your vegetables.
Make sure not to fry on high heat, so that your oil does not smoke.
And you don't need much oil. Shallow frying your chicken is okay. Just to brown them a little.
Step four
After frying your chicken, proceed to frying your chopped vegetables, starting with onions, carrots, green beans, green peppers, spring onions, thyme, in that order.
Note: You can skip the curry powder if you already added some to the cooked rice, or you can go ahead and add a little. Curry always does Nigerian fried rice good.
Step five
Add the cooked rice into the stir fried vegetables (or the vegetables to your rice, whichever one is convenient for you) Mix until well combined. Taste for salt, and add if needed.
Your basic Nigerian fried rice is ready. Serve with your chicken.🙂 You can ask questions for clarity. You left Shrimp and Liver. |
