tensazangetsu20:OP, Here is your answer. To add, if Ghana had its way, Nigerians would have been restricted entry into the country. Besides, your plan only works when you are very young (15 to 20). Namibia for instance issues permanent residency status after 7 years. If you leave Nigeria at the age of 30, would you still be interested in trying to move to the West at the age of 37/38? |
FreedomfromtheT:As I have stated countless times on Nairaland, if you put a pig against Udom Emmanuel, the majority of Nigerians WOULD gladly campaign and vote for that pig instead of Udom simply because Igbos support Udom. Mind you, Udom is an Ibibio man and Ibibios are not Igbos, but the very fact that Igbos support him would have other Nigerians vote for a pig to be the country's president. You should learn to understand the mindset of your fellow Nigerians. The earlier you do, the better. Gerrard59: |
ednut1:Finish! E no pass these two for a start. The tale about corruption is overestimated. Every country is corrupt to some degree. Corruption mostly exists because of too much government bureaucracy. On that aspect, privatise everything. Privatisation reduces corruption. |
Bokeeto: Gerrard59:The same applies to Germany. |
sirgalahad26:Just because she is a sex worker does not mean she should be exploited by a medical professional she trusted with her life. Na this kind mentality dey put una for trouble. |
wrongnumber:Yes. It is unethical. You do so after the interaction with the patient, not DURING the medical interaction. @TOPIC: Our people should learn to separate business from pleasure. Thank God for my upbringing. |
On Instablog9ja where I first watched the video, she TOOK the children ALONG with her to the man's house for a visit. That is the problem, not "men don't want me because I am a single mother". That aside, three children as a single mother is maddening. I, as a man, am scared of having more than two children, then you expect me to entangle myself with a woman with three children whose fathers are not responsible in their lives?! I would have understood her better if she was a Northern Christian whose husband was slaughtered by marauding Fulani herdsmen. Other than that category, any woman with three children whose fathers are absent (but alive) in the children's lives should make do with that condition and stop seeking a relationship with single men. The alternative is to target wealthy polygamous men. It doesn't make sense for a single man without children to be with a single mother with three children. Very unfair! |
Bokeeto:Good luck getting a visa from Portugal's embassy in Nigeria (assuming it is operating sef). |
Bokeeto:Travel agents cannot arrange a work visa for you. You apply to a company based there, go through its recruitment process and if successful, the firm applies for a visa on your behalf. As for digital marketer, sorry, but that is not a field western companies seek to employ foreigners, especially from Africa. |
mu2sa2:Nigerians' fixation with "start a business" even when the person is better off practicing the profession they studied in the university. So, tell us, Musa what kind of business an aspiring professional nurse should start with 100K? |
Thislifee:This is the second time you have threatened to pour a girl acid just because of envy. The other time, it was in medical school, now this. You really have a problem o. Weren't you the same person who had financial difficulties and had to meet a NYSC friend who promised you a job if you were from the same LGA as him? Honestly, I fear and sympathise with the non-blood-related women in your life. Any small thing, acid And to think you pursuing a PhD degree! |
DND069:A very simple breakdown of basic evolutionary practices of male species all over the world and across the animal kingdom. |
Double0h7:EOD! |
Love800:No. He doesn't have to be cultivate cocoa. Just acts as an intermediary between the farmers and exporters. If he has plenty of funds, then conduct the export himself. More money in exporting directly to buyers in Europe and America. |
Who were the people campaigning, drumming support, and eventually voting for Buhari in 2015? As you lay your bed, so you lie on it... The mandate is mandatory, he must continue till 2031, no ifs or buts, period! |
Gibson01:Go and tell farmers in Benue, Taraba, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara etc., who have been brutally murdered and their farms razed by maruading Fulani herdsmen. Recently, a rice farm in Enugu was brunt to ashes your darling Fulani herdsmen! What do you say about that?! Get out! Stoopid riff-raffs who don't understand what actual farmers, rather than Internet noisemakers, go through! |
Chicagograduate:Trust me, if OP changes to cocoa supply, he won't even want to japa. Those people make a hell lot of money. |
brain54:Where are these statistics? Any source to find them? |
Pansophist, The West is jittery that China will flood the global markets with cheap and reliable Chinese goods thereby reducing the clout of Western firms. The arrogance is what pisses me off! You blocked the Chinese from buying ASML machines, then are angry they (the Chinese) are exporting their own goods to the world. I will come back with more, just don't want to get banned again. Rules for thee but not for me. aka 'Rules-based order' - we make the rules, you follow them, and we may follow them when it suits us. - signed USA and its

ibrocool:It is actually possible. My siblings and I are examples. For one, I don't smoke or womanise, but I seldom drink, which is measured by monthly intervals/gaps. In fact, I did not touch alcohol between 2019 and 2022. Neither am I religious. People like us exist. |
brain54:In Physics, yes. In biology, they attract. She is obviously attracted to men who smoke. Which means she smokes as well. |
gforce5:It seems this niche is very lucrative these days. I know Henley and Partners has a Lagos office and an Abuja office (correct me if I am wrong on this part). But is the demand so high? If yes, which countries are clients interested in? What are the profiles of your clients (age ranges, what they do for a living, why they are patronising you and your colleagues etc). I understand the legal field is high on confidentiality, but this is an anonymous forum. ![]() |
Maxxim:To be fair to those parents, it is women's nature. Just as I explained in the link I mentioned, women are hypergamous (a global phenomenon), and as their education and earning capabilities soar, so do their aspirations. Even for men, it is the same. Beauty isn't just a factor these days, but a woman's educational qualifications and earning capability (even though most men aren't necessarily interested in a woman's money). So, times have changed, but women have maintained their hypergamy steadfastly. The issue for women and policymakers (as referenced in that link) is that there are fewer men who have the profile that these women desire. This is why even though there are more men than women anywhere in the world, there are more marriageable women than marriageable men. Hmmn the write up is so insightful, I wonder how the world will look like few years to come when this ideology finally gets accepted amongst most countries.Only Islamic countries would be able to withstand it. The women empowerment movement has sailed and the world isn't returning to the '60s. Women sef no go gree. But what I presage is an abundance of single women in advanced ages, men deliberately being single, a significant proportion of the population having children outside marriage, a rise in divorce cases, alternative marriage arrangements etc. The West (North America & Europe) are already there. Na for parts of Asia, Africa and other parts of the world to catch up. It is inevitable. Some houses have became divided and both couples divorced but those avoiding social backlash ended up living in same house as strangers. No wonder. Lagos is an anomaly (not a bad meaning) in this analysis as it is cosmopolitan. So, Yoruba women there will adopt values different from their kith elsewhere in the region. It is the same with Igbo women. Those based in Lagos and Abuja differ from those in the East. People in cosmopolitan areas tend to be more opinionated (largely because of the financial power) and liberal. Sometimes, they tend to be aggressive because of the fierce competition for scarce resources. A way to check for this is to compare educated women working in civil service in, say, Ekiti vs those in Lagos. There would be differences. Islam on its own already tames feminism, so we focus on Yoruba Christians. Looking forward to when you get your research doneThanks. I would advertise it on Nairaland. It is my form of philanthropy because there are many unanswered questions we have as a country and people. Too many I no fit lie give you, dem tell me say and trust me bro sources of information. By answering these questions logically, we know where we are coming from, where we are and where we are going. |
Maxxim:Interesting. I never knew it is brewing in the west as well. Well, Islam will tame it down. Western civilisation is incompatible with Islamic civilisation. And so far, that is the only ideology I see that can withstand the incursion of Western ideas into its circle. Indian and Chinese civilisation can be penetrable (examples abound), but so far, Islamic civilisations haven't, and certainly not the ones in Africa. But to be balanced, it is not just the southwest that is reeling from the effects of educating the female child over the male child. I wrote about it in detail here: https://www.nairaland.com/7990643/marry-beautiful-nigerian-women-uk/4#128293405 So, does this mean that there is a rise in divorce cases amongst educated women whose husbands aren't as educated as they are (women)? Also, if you note the cultural differences between the East and West, parents go ahead with blind dates for their children; I doubt that is possible with Eastern women, especially as the children are scattered across the country more than women from the southwest. For instance, there are more Igbos in the southwest than Yorubas in the east (both genders). So, maintaining control isn't that easy. Which brings me to another research question: Which ethnic groups in Nigeria have the highest number of unmarried women above 30? And what could the reasons be? Nigerian ethnic groups with the highest rate of single mothers? Why? What are the factors? My money needs to plenty. So many questions to be asked. |
Maxxim:Yeah, that is one of the reasons being peddled largely because of limited economic resources resulting from the Civil War. It is happening in the West (abroad) too. Another reason for Igbos' own is the adoption of the Western version of Christianity and its corresponding values, both good and bad. Western values promote freedom of thought, speech and ideas. The complete adoption of those values without factoring in cultural differences is a recipe for disaster. I don't know if you notice this has been happening here in the west too, the parents spends ridiculous fees to sponsor their female children to school whereas the male counterpart is on the street hustling his life some even ended up becoming nuisances and at the end of the day the lady won't want to marry down and ended up becoming one bitter feminist. In some case, the parents finds a partner for their kids through blind dates and after having more than one kid they divorce cos the lady is claiming the role of an alpha. The "West" here, is it North America&Europe or South West Nigeria? |
We trade a lot with the Netherlands. Interesting. |
Orlu13:Na the research theme I wan study when my money plenty. 2 out of 3 Igbo women are bitter feminists and I am willing to bet, the majority of lesbians/bisexual women in Nigeria are Igbos. Wahala for man wey marry 21st century Igbo woman. |
The cultural characteristics of some Nigerian ethnic groups get as e be. While there are good sides, the bad sides overshadow the good sides. There is a reason Southern African countries stiffen visa issuances for Nigerians. My problem with Nigerians as a whole is condoning the acts/atrocities of these people who spoil the "Nigerian" name and then blame the government. How come Ivorians or Gambians are not committing the same atrocities in Ghana? Na only we dey travel across Africa? I usually pity any country that has open borders to Nigerians. It never ends well. |
folake4u:Yes. Unmarried women earn as much as married men. https://archive.md/gXWp3 (free-to-read). As for footballers, it is simple economics. Men watch football, and men's football gets the highest viewership. Higher viewership translates to more advertising fees, which come back to clubs that pay these players. I think men even watch women's football more than women do. In summary, the term "gender pay gap" is deceiving as many factors make people, regardless of their gender, earn the amount they do. Companies look for any way to pay lower salaries, so the narrative that a certain gender or group of people earn less just because of their gender or whatever is mendacious. |
Interesting responses. Married men dey try. No wonder they patronise hook-up babes a lot. Shey, people have seen why hook-up exists? I already outlined it here: https://www.nairaland.com/7684230/how-reduce-hook-ups-nigeriaAgain, as I have stated countless times, aside from having children within a two-parent household, the benefits of marriage to men are largely nonexistent or infinitesimal. |
BeardedMeat: ![]() A man whose father is a pastor and has never condemned the killing of Christians in Northern Nigeria, supports El-Rufai and put up a banner restricting commentary in the Islamic section but not for the Christian threads is who you want to pin a thread narrating the Fulanisation of Nigeria? ![]() |
Stopped going when I noticed none of the so-called men of god condemned the butchering of Christians in Northern Nigeria. Gerrard59: |
