Gerrard59:https://twitter.com/RnaudBertrand/status/1698709810164945014 Only a matter of time and SMIC will mass produce the chip and prices will plunge. The Chinese are good at that. |
Jeon:You're right anyway. The same happens in developed countries where there are almost equal economic opportunities for women. Most women aren't interested in marriage for financial reasons, unlike in poorer countries, since they can earn their own money. |
ednut1:My belief is that such ladies are first grade feminists and fit be witch sef ![]() |
UnfairLife7:That man (MT) actually has the British passport and is a bonifade supporter of the APC. So don't be surprised. He has actually lived and worked abroad, so I don't understand the animosity he has towards others whose lives have been terrible in Nigeria in doing the same. MT:It's funny how he calls others economic migrant when he was one, attained naturalisation and now kicks against them doing the same thing he did almost twenty years ago. https://www.nairaland.com/7778685/why-apc-supporters-against-relocation |
SSpeter:So comfortable dishing out numbers without backing them with a reputable source of evidence? |
Princewell2012:That's not true. Three million Nigerians translates to at least one percent of the total Black population in the US. That would have generated reactions. Nigerians are not up to 1% of the total US population. |
Coldie:Nigerians and their braggadocio! First, there was no news or information from the US embassy in Nigeria that there are over 3M Nigerians, first or second generation, residing in the US. That would have translated to 1% of the population, thus, increasing the Black population to 14-15%. Second, it's not up to 1M because there are actually less than 400K Nigerians, both first and second generation, residing in the US. Lastly, regarding the number of Nigerians allocated visas. The information is from the ambassador, so are you implying that a random Coldie should be believed instead of the official representative of the British government in Nigeria? Also, don't confuse visa issuance to Nigerians for the total number of Nigerians in the UK which is less than 300K. Please stop being so boastful online with mendacious information. |
LordAdam16:To be fair, most of the corn produced in the US is converted into ethanol since there are incentives. But as EVs get cheaper and more popular, the economic basis would fizzle out. For simple agricultural trade, it is a Big W for the Chinese since the US started placing sanctions here and there. Mumu Phillphines aligned with the US, and the Chinese shifted to Ecuador for bananas. When Australia was misbehaving, she got punished by the Chinese, reducing the import of wines and dairy products. Thankfully, she don get sense small and both AUSNZL leaders have visited Xi, even if na for photo-shoots. I hope African leaders and entrepreneurs take advantage of it as the Chinese have simplified the process of importing agricultural products from Africa. I recall when some commentators on the NYT vowed to stop purchasing South African wines. I saw a business opportunity by turning away to the Chinese. The same with Taiwan, pineapple exports to China have reduced. One commentator on the SCMP said, "Americans should put their money where their mouth is. It is not weaponry exports every time; buy some Taiwanese pineapples. Taiwanese should beg their American masters to buy some pineapples." Nevertheless, it is a good diversion anyway. The Chinese can depend on Russia, South East Asia, South America and parts of Africa for food imports. The market is there and always growing as the Chinese get richer. Smithfield, the world's biggest pork processor, is already owned by the Chinese ditto Syngenta, a major agrochemical seed developer. Now is the time to consolidate on the investments made, grow their naval power to defend waterways and food should never be a problem. I applaud their long-term thinking and pragmatism. I really do. |
Smartguyboy:Many Nigerian parents in Nigeria cannot afford American tuition fees except through scholarships, which second-generation Nigerian-Americans have access to many right from a young age. There are too many stories of such people getting at least 6-8 scholarships to study at top schools. Most importantly, even with the loans, they have the right to work in the US, unlike someone with just a Nigerian passport who has to battle the H1B visa lottery. |
Donpre:I don't know about other Asian nations, but in Japan, some ladies like African-American culture and invariably black men. If they cannot meet African-American men, they make do with black African/Caribbean men. However, African Americans regardless of gender are accorded more respect than black Africans. |
tensazangetsu20:Yes! The clowns screaming alfa meils are either very ugly or very poor. If both, that is a double whammy. Those guys I met don't even know what is "alpha male". The rants of alfa meils are because they cannot get hot chicks, simple. However, these guys are already tired. I have another in Lagos who is so tired of women throwing him greenlights. When I mentioned "alpha male" to him. He asked, "wetin be alpha male"? People wey dey run from sex? They are literally tired of it. |
ItisWell22:Any first generation immigrant male wishing to marry a female medical doctor should be very well established financially. Yes, she earns well, but never rely on that money as part of the finances of the household or marriage. The hypergamy by female doctors anywhere in the world is on steroids! How come I know these things than married men sef? |
Acidosis:But why is it so? I have two female friends. Mrs A pressured her husband to fund her trip to Vietnam; her final aim is to cross over to Canada. She has spent quite a lot in the process. When I asked, how about her husband, she said he would join her later. I don't fancy a married man over 40 migrating, let alone to Vietnam. Mrs B is doing the same to her husband as she says business is not moving fine for him in Nigeria. But the man is not interested. In his defence, I said if he is the one funding the trip (most likely as she does not do anything financially significant), she should allow him to be. As a man, japa is best done when single. |
Brandiebird:This is also true. I have been told that some Japanese children with Nigerian fathers detest black African men because their fathers abandoned them, leaving their mothers to raise them all alone. Raising children as a single parent is hard, expensive and very tedious. Worse so for single mothers, who constitute a significant proportion of Japan's poorest. |
Aaaaarghmed:Thing is, never depend on a woman's income or immigration status. I can be accused of Misogyny or having ego, but I call it self-dignity. Too many case studies. |
tensazangetsu20:With wetin boys don tell me for Japan, if a Nigerian dude is handsome and can speak the language if it is non-English speaking, the chances of getting women are very high. Met one today and he has over 100 body counts - different women. He even runs away from it sef as he is ashamed of it. Another who came in April is already tired. I hereby withdraw my statements about our men finding it difficult to get women. |
Smartguyboy:In the US, this is very rampant. Second-generation Nigerian-Americans are enjoying the fruits of their parents' labour. As Americans and blacks, they enjoy lots of privileges. Access to loans to study (good a thing they study relevant courses), scholarships and job opportunities. In doing it for the children's future, I dare say first generation Nigerian-Americans have won it. Also, as citizens, they get the first chance at attending good universities at low costs. A Nigerian from Nigeria would pay higher fees at the University of Texas. But a second generation would pay very low fees at the same university and is guaranteed automatic admission if s/he topped his/her high school graduating class in Texas. |
RaptorX:Nairaland's Resident Demon. As usual, lying through his filthy fingers. Australia has had only one female prime minister - Julia Gillard. The same Julia accused her opponents of voting to remove her as the leader of the party because of her gender. How, then is that a feminist hotbed? Feminist hotbed yet the wife he sponsored is encouraging her husband to join her? If the woman was as bad as you mendaciously claim, how come she did not cut off the man after all she had nothing to lose? Not only are you a demon, you are a despicable and disingenuous one at that. Spits!!!! |
Kenn55:God go bless you. Una don see how people dey take advise others regarding relocation? Whereas Sukkot and his gangsters especially the one who terms himself RaptoX would spew mumbo-jumbo up and down? See it? cc; Apart from the stated age, we share the same philosophy. |
Gerrard59:There was a presidential election on Friday, which Tharman won by a huge landslide - 70% - of votes cast. This is more than the votes the PAP - Tharman's party, and which has governed Singapore since the forced independence in 1965, garnered during the last election in 2021. Unlike Halimah Yacob who was appointed to satisfy the Malay population, Tharman - an ethnic Indian - contested alongside two Chinese, one from an opposition party and an independent candidate. The Sunday before the election, I asked the Singaporean doctors (both Chinese) who was going to win, and they chorused Tharman. Even some opposition voters confessed they voted for Tharman. Tharman is good and I admire him a lot. He is so intelligent and speaks with so much poise. He is well respected. You watch a politician talk, read his profile, and check his records. Then remember say you be Nigerian, one begins to form tears in the eyes. Tharman's profile: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tharman_Shanmugaratnam |
JohnQueen:I use Google.com/flights to research the most affordable flights and routes. I book on the airline's website. To reserve seats, most times, you have to go through travel agents. E get way dem dey do am. Wakanow employees were doing it before Covid for a fee, but they got barred from it after Covid. Shey the reservation is part of visa application pending until approval or denial? |
lordally:"These are the demons we fight every day in this section" - Gerrard59. Apparently, one of the demons can't afford a Nigerian passport. Looking at it closely, e be like say my instinct that stated some of them are ex-convicts from British/American prisons might actually be apt. After all, a significant number of the demons are those who have been denied visas at different embassies or agents duped them. Congratulations on your relocation. P.S. We keep fighting the demons one day at a time. We cannot lose because no one has ever lost betting against Nigeria. cc: Thiagokid, thanks for the mention. |
It's a major reason my signature is what it's and will remain so for generations to come. Where's Sagamite who loved and campaigned for the feudal terrorist called Buhari? What does he have to say? We've been vindicated! |
jedisco:When Tensa20 told me this, I was shocked. How doctors go dey bribe for residency slots? You see, these are the reasons I call out those blatantly against relocation demons. Miscreants would be on YouTube tying mumbo-jumbo without fully explaining the nitty-gritty of everything. As everyone can see, when I call these cretins demons, e get why. There are more than a thousand and one reasons to term them so. They are not happy young and ambitious folks are fleeing the system they spoilt. From Agbaje of GTB to the demons in this section. Demonic bastards everywhere! Those young medics grew frustrated and ported. In a year, the difference was clear. While one was now holidaying, career advancing and clinching properties in Abuja, the previous big man might have to gather his annual salary to afford flight ticket to any reasonable destination and talking malaria on-end on international journals.I pray the medical exodus continues. The medical monkeys and donkeys at the helm of affairs might be compelled to change for good. Anyway, it will continue. I have never lost betting against Nigeria. Never has it happened. Not today, not tomorrow, not anytime soon. Young Medics, there you have it: flee the hell hole leaving the demons to slug it out! |
Where are Sukkot and his gangsters when you need them?! 🙄 |
Gerrard59:https://twitter.com/Kdenkss/status/1697101151756226811 I guess Bongo has outlived his usefulness. If the new coup rulers are not requesting the French to vacate the land, it is pointless. This differs from Niger coup. |
jedisco:Why doesn't his type put their yansh siddon put for Nigeria? Why the urge to japa? They should remain in Nigeria, for crying out loud! No gun was pointed at his head to sell his properties and relocate. Young Nigerian specialised medics/FPs in Canada are seeing upwards of 300,000 cad per annum with some earning in multiples of that. Already, his chorus is changing, if he gets to work as a specialist, his verse would alse change. No one has ever lost betting against Nigeria. We have had demons here spew mendacious statements that skilled folks can't earn good money in the West. Again, anyone who wants to relocate/migrate/japa should do in-depth research before embarking on the journey. https://www.nairaland.com/7650379/points-consider-before-after-japa |
OkpaNsukkaisBae:Like Panso has stated, the West can only watch and keep mute. Anyhow speech gets people, especially Africans, antsy. Because, for real, why has the West never complained about Bongo when he was “winning elections”? My issue isn’t with dictators in the continent but because they don’t focus on proper economic and social development. If I criticise countries having dictators, I would label myself a hypocrite because Singapore, which I admire, can be described as such. Western publications do that a lot. I have realised that most countries don’t work well with democracy as we know it. So, whatever system that works for them, provided there is broad economic and social development like China and Singapore, is fine by me. I am all about the economy and social development, not whether people can vote. If dem like Sharia, but average citizens are living a good life, perfect. E concern them. If they say we no want again, their business. But first, provide economic development. Honestly, it pains me how we have squandered time, energy and resources in a bid to create an abundance of sh!thole areas, Gabon suppose be like the UAE or Qatar. We no try in that part of the world. I understand a unipolar world contributed, but as the world gets more multipolar, now is the chance to right our wrongs. If Namibia and Zambia squander theirs eh now, e don be. BTW, from this publication, the French have soldiers there: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/8/30/gabon-military-officers-claim-power-say-election-lacked-credibility. France is one useless colonial power, no ifs or buts. For a colonial power whose language has its majority speakers in sub-Saharan Africa, all of which are poor (Francophone countries are poorer than their Anglophone counterparts in every single part of the world). It irks me how she ensures they remain poor. There is no way French can influence the world when the majority of its speakers are poor compared to Spanish or German. Chinese is well balanced as the numbers and wealth are in place. You would see reactions when the military commandos request that the French soldiers vacate the country, which they ought to. Their usefulness cannot be measured. On the other hand, about the new entrants to the BRICS. Argentina and Ethiopia are two useless additions. I could not post this due to back-to-back bans by the spam bot. Argentina is a South America’s Zimbabwe.. Some politicians dislike China and the Chinese. They adhere to anything the EU tells them. The EU says jump, and they ask, how high? Then Ethiopia, another unthinkable addition. The country suffers from perennial famines, is ethnically fractured and faces a looming crisis with Egypt regarding the Nile River. Countries that should join the BRICS are those that can govern themselves or contain their problems by themselves. Between Nigeria and Ethiopia, we are better off in the BRICS than Ethiopia. Even Kenya is better off. The issue is that most people think BRICS is anti-Western influence, which is partly true as the West is against anything to curtail their influence. However, being a member does not mean one should completely oppose anything Western. India, South Africa and Brazil are good examples. Even the Chinese would still accept American FDI into her economy. |
It is very irresponsible to marry a woman, have three children, and later abandon her to elope with your gay partner. He should have remained a bachelor. |
1stGenAmerican:Probably, people like him want free money without work. That is the reason why his age group should not emigrate. They find it hard to assimilate to the new working conditions and begin to whine every now and then. I bet you, the first thing he would do after naturalisation is return to Nigeria and continue his commandering attitude. His mates are in the National Assembly. It seems many Nigerians hate a rule-based society, but want Nigeria to move forward. 1Alex:Then, he should have remained in Nigeria. Not everyone needs to emigrate. Mathematically, it is not possible. Once person nack 40, make the person siddon for Nigeria by Keeping Up With The EmiLokans |
Japa is good when one is young and unmarried. Japa is good when one has read the requirements and laws guiding the visa class the person uses. However, I am not a party to selling all one's properties to relocate. But if that is the person's wish, so be it. The man is probably over 40, and again, I maintain the stance that age group should remain in Nigeria. But judging by stories across the English-speaking world, the success rate for Nigerian doctors who relocated has been very high. One more thing, the belief that things should be the same in the new destination, like where you emigrated from is total bunkum! If so, Canadians would be the ones moving to Nigeria. There is a reason why the system is the way it is and the reason he moved there. Anyone who does not like it should create his own system to be better than the one in Canada. That way, you enjoy your dominant environment amidst the cultural characteristics that come with it. A Japanese or Singaporean doctor has no business in Canada for economic survival. |
Fiscus105: Aaaaarghmed:It amuses me when customers criticise their service providers, especially as alternatives are unavailable. The sex industry is the only place where that happens. |
