I remember when my younger brother came to Lagos to stay with me. He was totally my responsibility. Even though he was working and earning some pennies, I still fed him 3 square meals every day. This is what my father could not even do when he was in the village. From childhood to adulthood I shouldered him. His school fees was me. The clothes he wore were mine, plus the ones I bought for him. I was practically his mother and father.

All I did for him was all from the goodness of my heart. By right I owe him nothing. Unfortunately, not everyone is this compassionate. The parents are the ones who should be sending him monthly stipends especially since he doesn't have a job.

But I understand that the parents are very poor hence, they can't. This is why I am an antinatalist. Poor people should stop breeding children they cannot take care of. In this present economy, having another mouth to feed is not easy, especially when you are still hustling to make something out of your life.

Addiction of any kind is terrible. The worst is smoking. Because not only are you wasting money, you are literally burning yourself which will result in a lot of health issues in the future. It's possible to quit. The fact is, you will relapse a couple of times, but never stop trying to quit. I was a daily smoker for 5 good years. I was high from morning till night. I tried numerous times to stop but I couldn't even last 12 hours without shaking. Glory to my name, I'm 6 months sober, and I'm loving sobriety. My mental clarity is awesome. My skin is glowing. My dry chapped lips are now pinky and succulent. My eyes are sparkly, and I'm generally happier and full of life. It's a miracle. The withdrawal was hell, but I fought hard. Now, no more cravings. Someone could be blowing weed on my face and I wouldn't be moved. When I remember what I went through, lack of sleep, lack of appetite, change of taste... Nah. Never again.

Nobody is born gay. Some people were gaslighted into it (like most people in support of homosexuality tend do e.g. all over this thread), or got too curious about it and wanted to try it out. I've seen that happen. The latter decide to be bisexual to entertain that preference for any type of gratification. Nobody is born like that. Unless there is nurture into it. Unless you can show a gay and straight gene, how could anyone be born in a way that doesn't support sexual functions of the body? Why is gay sex traumatic if they were born that way? Wouldn't their bodies have given them vaginas to prevent all that trauma, since their body knows they were born gay the way they do?

At the core of it, most people are desperate for any type of gratification. All gays aren't gay because they were "born that way". Ask them about their repressed childhood. To paint them with one brush is presumptive.

No sane person will want to be gay when it makes you a target of discrimination. In most countries gays are killed without trial.

No sane person will overcomplicate their life by choosing to be gay, and live in hiding through out their life. Just as you have no control over how straight you are, is the same way they have no control toward how gay they are.

I have asked a lot of them, and they always break down in tears and tell me if they have a choice, or if there was a button that they can press and be straight, that they will press it without thinking twice.

There is nothing like gaslighting. They grew up and discovered that they have no physical or romantic attraction toward the opposite sex.

We don't know a lot about the human body, but it's not as intelligent as you make it. Go to the hospital and you will see people suffering from different ailments. If our bodies are perfect, why are there so many issues?

The whole point of the issue isn't whether our body is smart or not. The point is to accept the LGBTQ community for who they are as long as they are hurting no one.

What two consenting adults do with their bodies is their business, as long as they are hurting no one. When you restrict someone's right to love because there preference is different from yours, you are asking for a revolt. Just as we have diverse races, is the same way we have diverse sexualities. The same way people are born straight, is the same way people are born gay. Unfortunately they make up the minority, just like we have left handed people. But because of religion and cultural beliefs, they grow up hiding their identity, and might even be homophobic to deter suspicion. Done long enough, they develop internalised homophobia. A condition where they hate themselves, and others who are bold enough to express themselves. I have never seen someone as homophobic as a gay person with internalised homophobia.

You are a very bad neighbour if your music is so loud that they have to close their windows. Everyone has different tastes in music. As long as you are not a DJ, enjoy your music alone and let your neighbours breathe. Secondly, if you were not invited to an event, that means you are not needed. Stay back. One thing with these private schools is the stress. You will see a private teacher handling the workload of 3 teachers due to low staff, yet there is no career growth or increase in salary. After the stress you wouldn't even think of extra lessons because you are exhausted and want to go home. Then you get home and you discover you need to prepare for the next day teaching, mark scripts, prepare assignments, not to talk of the politics that happens among teachers. It's not worth it.
