Triangles1: Roasted corn reminds me of Obasanjo as a president during his tenure, he stopped his convoy in other to buy roasted corn along federal housing lugbe, Abuja, the woman was very happy to see president of Nigeria buying roasted corn from her, OBJ bought 300 naira corn and he gave the woman 500 naira, the woman was shocked when OBJ asked of the 200 naira change, believe me Baba collected his 200 Naira change before he left.

yemmit90: Read the writeup again.
My annoyance is directed at some Southerners doing cattle business and employed Fulani herders to manage them.
Already modified a part that may be causing confusion and misunderstanding to the typical Nairalanders. Shut up. Most of those cows are owned by northern elites. Take your trash elsewhere |

Vaughanlanrewaj: No Isreali PM will ever do what Netanyahu did. So I doubt if there will be such reprisal. Hear me loud and clear. If Palestine or any other nation for that matter fires rockets at Israel, pls expect a reprisal. Its as sure as rain. This is not a function of who is prime minister. It is a function of a national mindset. If you like, put a duck there and Israel comes under any hostile attack, there will be a reaction. This is not a one-.man parade. See the post above mine. Its not looking nice at all for Palestine |

purest21: Well Jack got instructions from Washington DC to make it easy for the Nigerian government to reverse it's ban on Twitter without putting themselves in a position where they'd be an international laughing stock. Yea the pressure is too much on the government, they can't afford to lose these top countries as allies and on the other hand they've got some pride to protect, so it's also very important to pretend they didn't yield to these pressures from their western bosses
So you can see the Twitter + Whitehouse game. Twitter casually reaches out to FG with nothing tangible to discuss actually. Just to give FG some cover to hide the shame while the ban is reversed. Then later FG can lie about an agreement that was signed, new regulations, blah blah blah. Americans will always be 100 steps ahead On point. Thought I was the only one that saw that |

Saifullah01: Although true he said that, but I feel punch is emphasising the sensational part over the economic reason he provided which is a fair point.
Niger has no access to the sea and if Nigeria gets its act together infrastructurallyn, we will be the preferred route for Nigerien oil (and uranium). Imagine the attendant jobs and revenue that will accrue to Nigeria as a result of this. Not to speak of the geopolitical influence.
China is currently reviving the ancient silk road that connected East Asia and Southeast Asia with South Asia, Persia, the Arabian Peninsula, East Africa and Southern Europe through road constructions, seaport development, railways etc. in central Asia countries, Pakistan, Iran and even Europe (read about it)
If Nigeria were to get her acts right we should be reviving the ancient trans-Sahara trate routes strategically building influence in the countries that currently occupy those routes (Timbuktu, Agades, Tripoli etc) non of these North African countries or middle eastern countries would have "nothing on us". But we are to busy fighting ourselves to see the potential in ourselves You don't seem to understand international business Relationship. In this scenario, it ought to be a bilateral arrangement. You build the road and rail way to the edge of your boundary and the other country takes it up from there. If you want them to use your ports, give them better incentives and waivers. That's how it is done |

Could be that Buhari and the new guys in the helm at the police headquarters will like to water down the ethnic makeup of that group to make sure the north dominates! Sounds scary? Follow up on this very story and you will notice this to be the main reason... Spot on. Thought I was the only one who felt this way |
