Juliusmalema: I have since stopped replying weak argument.
Edo origin...Edo ancestry...Is Nnaemeka an Edo word?
Is Ifeanyi an Edo word? Do you even know the meaning?
Is there anything like obi in Edo?
But we have oba both in Edo and Yorubas. Tunde, Rotimi, Olusegun, segun both in Edo and Yorubas....history Oduduwa...
This is logic, sound plus visible at that. Nope there is no yoruba words you listed up there in benin language But again we have igbo words like Okoro, adaze... In benin and also in igbo |

duro4chang: This is contained in a statement, signed by Mr Frank Irabor, Secretary, Benin Traditional Council (BTC), and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Friday. Irabor said the ceremony will begin on Tuesday and last seven days at the Oba palace ground in Benin. NAN reports that Odudua rite is a ceremony used to commemorate the return of Oranmiyan, the son of Odudua, to his biological land of Benin. The spiritual ceremony is also used to thank God, and ancestors as well for the spirits of the land for the Oba’s successful ascension to the throne of his forebears. Samuk, valirex, truthshots

See Yorubas masturbating on this particular topic, this is what the oba of benin wants to catch cruise with Yorubas and get their attention
Which they are falling for....
See the way the yorubas are so happy the oba of benin is inventing the celebration of Oduduwa... Lol
If indeed Oduduwa or ormoiyan was historical and not a political lue played after amalgamation how come is now the oba of benin is having a festival for it... If nor for cruise

Because we speak English doesn't make us english people Yoruba is what they speak their origin is benin republic The awori got more edo admixture than yoruba |

Your boss knows you guys are part and parcel of oodua republic.
Stop chasing shadows.
Why is it hard for you to accept that you are a Yoruba man? See this one that gets frustrated when the igbos in south south claim edo origin Even in imo they claim edo, onitisha people claim edo The ediod sub group is large Our oba is just catching cruise with Oduduwa myth and nothing more Before you start wailing on edo and yoruba concerns Start worrying for the igbos who are constantly attaching themselves to benin and constantly denying their igbo root Confused mofo like you |

There are so many village. Fedtival that have been abadon due to the effect of Christianity if he can pump money into such celebration many edo would see a need to abandon the whiteman religion and embrace theirs once again |

Adeba01: Depends which Yoruba group, Yorubas are not a homogeneous group but are a heterogenous group. For example the Yorubas from Oyo are Nupe by ethnicity not edoid, but the Yorubas that are Itsekiri are possibly edoid and so to possibly are the Yorubas from Ondo.
Don't forget the Yorubas out of all the southern Nigerian tribes have assimilated the Fulanis and Hausas the most. So vast majority of the Yorubas of today have Hausa / Fulani blood. As far as I am concerned the Yorubas are more related to the Northern tribes like the Hausa, Nupe Bariba, than they are to the Edos, getting a bit fed up with this Edo Yoruba propaganda link . Read the history books of Yoruba people and they're are more mentions of the Yorubas having greater intercourse and relations with the Hausa / Fulanis than to any other southern Nigeria group. All yoruba groups were originally edoid who migrated west ward, and later intermixed with the few aborigines, nupes and fulani people over time They kept their dark complexion to sgow their edo heritage, alongside some inherent ediod words |

TAO11: What a load of rRRRrrrUbish!
(1) First of all, there is nothing called “Eben”.
The original Yoruba name is “Ebere,” and we still use this name (among others) all over our kingdoms till date. But the name Eben was recently faked by the Binis.
The name “Eben” is a modern-day Benin forgery which was fabricated in order to hide the true/original IFE-Yoruba origin of this state ‘sword’.
We know this because, even in as recent as the late 1800s, European visitors to Benin who also met this object in Benin documented its name as “Ebere” — NOT once as “Eben” — See. H. Ling Roth (1903).
(2) The second of the pair is the “Ada”. Although, the original Yoruba name of this one has been correctly preserved by the Binis, there are linguistic clues which tells of the actual Yoruba origins of this state object as well.
The Bini dictionary confesses that the name “Ada” for this state object is a name borrowed into Bini language from the Yoruba language.
(3) Owo kingdom was founded about the same period as Benin kingdom. How then can it first king have been a descendant of Esigie (16th/17th Benin king)??
Moreover, Owo palace traditions names the founder of the Owo kingdom to be an IFE prince by the name Asunlola Ojugbelu (and his son, Imade).
Benin liars-cum-ignoramuses make me cringe so bad.
(4) The King of Lagos: First of all, king Ado (the “first” king of Lagos) is only partly descended from Benin.
King Ado is NOT paternally descended from the Benin Oba.
King Ado IS PATERNALLY descended from Isheri-Olofin in Lagos, and maternally descended from the Benin Oba.
Lagos Kings have a Yoruba crown as attached below.
(5) Would you like me to post a picture of your Oba of Benin holding a long pole-like staff (the like of which you named as a Yoruba staff)??
Would you regard him as a Yoruba king, just for holding that??
Consistency must, by default, be far away from any Bini liar like yourself.
(6) The Ada and the Ebere (aka Ape, aka Ato) have their origin from ILe-Ife (the center of Yoruba civilization and monarchy).
A proof of this fact lies in the existence of the oldest surviving archaeological evidence of both the Ada and the Ebere in Yorubaland till date.
Cheers!

(DATA): The name “Benin” is written in your map.
(YOUR CONCLUSION): Hence, Benin kingdom ruled the land areas covered by the name “Benin” on that map.
(MY EVALUATION): Benin people are under a strong grip of delusion and inferiority complex. See proof below.
(DATA): The name “Guinea” is also written in the same maps — covering the land area of all the W/Africa forest including Benin kingdom.
(TO BE CONSISTENT, YOUR BENIN REASONING SHOULD BE): Well, Guinea conquered and ruled Benin kingdom and the other vast expenses of the West African forest. Lol.
Unfortunately, “absurd conclusion” and “inconsistency” are the stock-in-trade of every Benin dumbstards like the one here. THE FACTS: (1) There was nothing called Nigeria during the periods when the Europeans first visited our region.
(2) Hence Nigeria was NOT called Benin at any point in the history of the world.
(3) No European gets no approval from any W/African King or Chief before trading with anyone.
(4) The appearance of the names “Guinea” or “Benin” on some maps does not communicate ownership.
Rather, it reflects the cartographer’s acquaintance with the region s(he) is sketching.
(5) Certain earlier maps than the one you’ve attached shows the phrase “The Ooni’s Kingdom” (translated) written over a vast expanse of the present-day Nigeria region (and beyond).

NarcoPolo: Bini kings used to be called 'Ogiso'
Oba-ship started in Bini when Oduduwa (also referred to as Izoduwa or Ekaladerhan) the long-exiled Bini price, sent his son back to be king in his stead.
Check historical records Eweka was the first Oba of the Binis, the apellation came back with him from the aborigines of Ife Ooye where Oduduwa was by then the Oba
It is undoubtedly a Yoruba word That history of oromiyan coming to benin was made up in the early 1915 immediately after amalgamation, to unite benin as Yorubas Oba eweka11 took such step for political benefits Oromiyan history in benin is not historically based, but an arranged myth from oba eweka11 and the yorubas Ogiso was a title benin used to refrence the oba as divine, ogiso never really ruled Ogiso= means sky royal Oba has always been the title for the Benin monarch, and got into the yoruba lexicon through benin military conquest in yoruba areas
