RomanceRe: Why Are Naija Ladies Scared Of Posting Their Relationship/partner'pics by Hamachi(f): 1:25pm On Jun 10, 2023
Could be many reasons, with the top few being,

1.They want to look single, they are the main point of their social media even if it says they are taken. (More compliments from guys, more chances of guys hitting them up to ask if they are single to fuel their goodness)

2. Often times boyfriends does not want to show up in their social media for whatever reasons.

3. They may have multiple boyfriends. This way it is easier to avoid suspicion.

4. Lastly, She wants to hide her bf in fears of other girls knowing where he is. If he has money, good looks, somewhat popularity. The outer circle of girls may hop on once she notice the usual boy-girl together pics are no longer there.

Tunneller:
@OP, Prison visitations are normal and occur regularly. However, it's good you asking these questions so you know what you are doing.

I have visited the prison both as a corper and as a normal citizen visiting a friend/relative. Every prison has their rules and regulations. Written and unwritten.

Some tips I could add:

- I won't advise you to go alone. Go with someone already familiar with that particular prison. It would save you a lot of unnecessary hurdles.

- If possible, go with one of his family member also.

- Go with money. Raw cash. Change an amount into the regular denominations. Enough N200 and N100. Back then, every visitor paid a certain amount to cross the gate...even if we were visiting same person. Some times, they have certain numbers they can allow at a time.

- The one I visited, they had like a prison money keeper, so the money we wan give the person we visited, it would be deposited with this person and recorded. In some prisons, you can give your friend your cash gift directly.

- Foodstuffs and provisions: highly valuable. The one that can last.

- Back then, the cooked food we brought, one of us had to taste every of it (As a check against food poisoning)

- We were given a small tag. Keep very safe. If u loose am, you can't go out o (Coz it would be assumed you have given it to someone inside to use and come out)

- They would ask you a few questions... basically to ascertain your relationship with who you are visiting and reason for visiting.

- We dropped our phones at the gate.

- Note that some of the persons u would be dealing it are actually prisoners-on-duty 😉 (You may not know initially). Even some persons outside the prison could be prisoners. Those ones no dey run again. He could just be washing one of the ogas car or in charge of opening gate. Also, some warders could be on mufti too. So face wetin carry you come. They all would be observing you too and may want to know how buoyant your visit has made the guy. All of them dey hustle too, you know. Some would be begging you too when you are leaving for tips.

- Check yourself very well...make u no go carry exhibit o...both entering and leaving. Most likely sha, u won't get beyond the visiting room. Tho, the visit I did as a corper, we toured round all the wards. People started crying. Some prisoners were begging the girls...dash me anything...even earring dash me...just anything. It was really touching. And a warder got furious when one of us attempted to dash one of them something through the cage. Some were begging to call a certain number that nobody knows he is there etc. Anyways, don't think you would be getting to these areas ... But my point is, focus on who you are visiting.

- Avoid unnecessary handshakes or trying to carry out favours.

- Anything, you ain't sure of while there, better to ask first.

- You won't be given the whole day. Don't get carried away by emotions, otherwise before you know it, them go say time up. So be alert and do your discussion quick so u make best use of your time. Other visitors are waiting. And nobody send anybody there.

- Have a great experience!

HmmmmmmSad truth😥😥😥😥😥 This real-life story of Uncle Owusu, after living in the UK for 38 years and at the age of 71, Uncle Owusu finally relocated to Ghana this year—to live in his 6-bedroom mansion which took him 9 years to complete.

Apparently, now in Ghana and in his mansion, Uncle Owusu lives in the living room of the house while his caretaker lives upstairs in his huge master bedroom. This is because Uncle Owusu cannot climb the stairs without the help of another person. Even with help, it will take him 15 minutes to make the climb.

As such, Uncle Owusu has decided to stay downstairs of his mansion (in the living room) as all 6 bedrooms are upstairs. The house has a living room, toilet, and kitchen downstairs and 3 rooms on the first floor, and another 3 (including the master bedroom) on the second/last floor.

This is surely not how Uncle Owusu anticipated his retirement. But that is the reality of his journey. This will be the life of many other Africans living abroad—building mansions back home without caring about their old age.

In fact, if you are building a dream house for yourself to live in and by 50 years that house is not done, forget it.

Uncle Owusu almost wasted 38 years of his life doing menial jobs abroad hoping to go and retire back home in his mansion and enjoy life. Now, he has no life to enjoy and someone is really enjoying the mansion.

Like most aged persons, Uncle Owusu is not even able to enjoy a bottle of malt at his age—because that will shoot up his sugar level. Yet, he said he was working hard all his life to enjoy his best life which included eating and drinking the finest when he retires.

Now, he is only able to eat salads—and even that, without dressing. He cannot even chew any of the fine meat out there without his cholesterol sending warning signs.

How is this life and the great retirement? Yet, this will be the life of more than half of us.

The solution is to take mini-retirements now and enjoy your life and luxury now.

Life starts when you start.

STRESS MANAGEMENT (A True Life Story)
The Hidden Toll of Traffic: How Congestion Causes Stress 💨🚗🚦

"Albert's sister is begining her new semester at Ekiti State University in Ado Ekiti, while he wants to ensure punctuality at his workplace on Lagos Island.

They left their home in Ikorodu early that morning. At the Ikorodu garage, Albert bid farewell to his sister as she boarded a car heading to Ado Ekiti.
Albert's journey faced challenging traffic from Ikorodu to Mile 12 and Ketu, lasting approximately two hours. Eventually, he found some relief as he joined the expressway at Ikosi, heading towards the 3rd Mainland Bridge.

However, the journey from Ikosi to the Adeniji Adele end of the 3rd Mainland Bridge took another staggering three and a half hours making a total of 5 hours plus. Surprisingly, Albert's sister reached Ado Ekiti while he was still on Ozumba Nbadiwe, far from his workplace at Muri Okunola."

Have you ever found yourself stuck in a never-ending traffic jam, watching the minutes tick away while your stress levels rise? Traffic congestion can have a significant impact on our well-being and mental health. 🌆🚙

Here are a few key insights into how traffic can cause stress:

1️⃣ Time Pressure: Being caught in traffic can make us feel like we're running out of time, triggering stress and anxiety. The pressure to arrive at work and meetings, on time can be overwhelming when traffic slows us down.

2️⃣ Frustration and Impatience: Waiting in long queues, dealing with slow-moving vehicles can push our patience to the limit. The constant stop-and-go, honking horns, and the feeling of being trapped can lead to heightened frustration and stress.

3️⃣ Uncertainty and Helplessness: Traffic congestion is unpredictable, leaving us unsure about how long we'll be stuck in the gridlock. The lack of control over our arrival times and the uncertainty of when we'll finally reach our destination can generate feelings of helplessness and anxiety.

And lastly,Impact on Well-being: Beyond the immediate stress of being stuck in traffic, the long-term effects can take a toll on our overall well-being. Chronic exposure to traffic congestion has been linked to increased blood pressure, sleep disturbances, and even mental health issues like anxiety and depression.

So, how can we cope with traffic-related stress? Here are a few strategies to consider:

✅ Plan Ahead: Anticipate traffic conditions and plan your route accordingly.
✅ Practice Mindfulness: Use your time in traffic as an opportunity to practice mindfulness techniques. Deep breathing exercises, calming music etc can help.
✅ Seek Flexibility: Explore the possibility of flexible work arrangements that allow you to avoid peak traffic hours. This can provide more control over your commuting experience and help minimize stress.

Remember, traffic-related stress is a widespread issue that affects many individuals.
RomanceRe: Have You Had An Encounter With A Mad Person?? by Hamachi(f): 11:45am On Jun 09, 2023
Some days back, I was out for a stroll and while returning, I decided to sit back in the bus stop waiting for the bus, as it started to drizzle. I had probably been sitting there for about two minutes without looking up. When I finally do, I notice a guy on the corner about 20 feet away staring intently at me. He’s hunched over facing me in the classic zombie pose wearing a large coat and gloves. I didn’t know how long he’d been standing there, but it was day time and the area is relatively populated so despite being the only people on the street, I wasn’t too worried.

I went back to looking at my phone, but kept discreetly glancing in his direction to see if he was still there. He didn’t move or stop looking at me for probably another minute of a half, just sunken shoulders with his unblinking eyes pointed directly at me.

Before I have a chance to look up, the zombie is sitting within an inch of me on the road. I’m a polite girl so I give him a vague smile while my inner self and personal space are screaming at me to get up and leave. He asks me the time, so I let him know and he just continues to sit there still.

I can’t fight my manners so I ask him if he needs something and he gives me a gloved double-thumbs up and stares at me. I ask him if that meant he’s good. To which he responds with another double thumbs up. I assume that was him saying he is all good. I turn back to my phone. He then begins laughing, like full belly laughing.

Deciding he was probably drunk, I didn’t really know how to respond so I tell him to have a nice day and proceeded without batting an eye. I stepped as close as I could to the road to give him the majority of the sidewalk to pass me by.

I took my eyes off of him to cross the empty street. As I reached the other side, I glanced back and then stopped dead in my tracks. He was standing with one foot in the street, perfectly parallel to me. He was facing me but still looking skyward. Smile still wide on his lips.

I was completely and utterly unnerved by this. I started walking again, but kept my eyes on the man. He didn't move.

I was so shocked that I stood there for some time, staring at him. And then he started moving toward me again. He took giant, exaggerated tip toed steps, as if he were a cartoon character sneaking up on someone. Except he was moving very, very quickly.

I'd like to say at this point I ran away or pulled out my pepper spray or my cellphone or anything at all, but I didn't. I just stood there, completely frozen as the smiling man crept toward me.

And then he stopped again, about a car length away from me. Still smiling his smile, still looking to the sky.

When I finally found my voice, I blurted out the first thing that came to mind. What I meant to ask was, "What the hell do you want?!" in an angry, commanding tone. What came out was a whimper, "What the hee…?"

Regardless of whether or not humans can smell fear, they can certainly hear it. I heard it in my own voice, and that only made me more afraid. But he didn't react to it at all. He just stood there, smiling.

And then, after what felt like forever, he turned around, very slowly, and started dance-walking away. Just like that. Not wanting to turn my back to him again, I just watched him go, until he was far enough away to almost be out of sight. And then I realized something. He wasn't moving away anymore, nor was he dancing. I watched in horror as the distant shape of him grew larger and larger. He was coming back my way. And this time he was running.

I ran too.

I ran until I was off of the side road and back onto a better lit road with sparse traffic. Looking behind me then, he was nowhere to be found. The rest of the way home, I kept glancing over my shoulder, always expecting to see his stupid smile, but he was never there.
