The Head of the Unit where i once worked narrated a story of how they left their last kid at home on a sunday and went to church (i guess the stubborn boy was about 8 then and he was just acting up). However, just at about when church was over, the boy called the parents who were at about then driving home to intimate them that their security man had been tied up by some unknown men and those men were still waiting within the precints of the gate. (He saw them from upstairs and the assailants were of the belief that the entire family had gone to church). Of course my then boss made a detour, got the police to drive as an advance party after they had instructed their son to remain securley locked inside. Needless to say, there was a minor shoot out and the robbers fled from the gate. I can imagine what would have happened if that guy was not at home or worse still, if he had no phone, or perhaps a phone that was not loaded...... THis is a point to ponder over in determining the propriety or otherwise of giving phones to kids. As for me, i WILL. |
I do not know what the whinning is all about. For you guys in Abuja, I guess life has been very smooth in terms of parking. Here in Lag, it has become a course of wisdom to leave your car at the BRT park, join BRT and once you are in the island, use cabs or bikes to run around. The reason is very simple, around here, no one will take your plate number, you would not see the car as it would have been towed to the nearest illegit office, where you will have to immediately pay N25,000.00. If you choose not to pay, they will start charging demurrage on the spot that they have towed your car to. U smoke in the car, they arrest you, almost any wrong step will lead to an arrest by LASTMA, Road Safety, KAI, and the rest uniformed men without a name or jurisdiction. So you guys in Abuja should just chill and learn to manage it well like those of us back here. |
All these internet tigers sef, i cant wait forthe first tonnes of bombs to be detonated on third mainland bridge and perhaps simultaneously around Onitsha head bridge and Imo river bridge at Owerrinta and let us see how many of these marshalls will come out to fight whoever in their wildest dreams they think they can attack. I no blame una, na computer and internet they give una liver, mumu people |
They both look fugly.....my opinion |
^^^^ So dumb an argument |
My response , For this album ooo1. Soyinka appears calm and articulated 2. IBB always had this 'maradonic' 'look' and 'feel' 3. Abulsalami just appeared dull from day one 4. Chinua Achebe, typical 'okoro' man, probably thinking about money in that pic 5. Baba Awo, terribly ugly and showing off with an ugly wife 6. Zik, appears timid right from the cradle (he lived it through in his life time) 7. Enahoro, proud politician, also comes across as articulate and business minded 8. Fela (abi is that Seun) had not smoked hemp in that pic, he simply looked unserious 9. Gowon smiling like the retard he always was and currently is 10. Jakande?, i no fit talk am 11. GEJ comes across as a mischevious young man, with little brains and really looking dull. 12. Aunty Meg.....the typical efik mother, looking saintly 13. Ojukwu, comes across as a stubborn, articulate and good strategist. In that pic, he appears to be considering next steps, irrespective of what is going in in the forum he might have been, compare and contrast with the grinning and unserious Gowon. These views are mine. |
I have read through a large portion of the posts and i dare say i personally got interested in the legal profession because of the wig and gown ( my dad led us into watching a lot of 'Crown Court Proceedings from the British Council Library from teh tender years). I am today aware that part of the reason why we are made to wear the wig is basically to depict 'wisdom' acquired through training (as against age). Therefore, i do not personally see what diference it makes whether it is a white or brown wig. If we are going to jettison the wig and gown just because we are Africans or indeed Nigerians, how about we also change our legal system and perhaps go back to the days of trial by ordeal and the use of sango, oritse, Ekpe society and a whole lot of traditional modes of resolving conflicts including 'fighting to the death'. In my opinion (which i am certainly entitled to), our issues go beyond the wig and gown, we should be more interested in how to improve our judicial system within the microcosm of Nigerian multi and hydra-headed issues spanning crimes, violence, poverty, deliberate impoverishment of the masses, massive looting of funds by people in political offices, etc etc. If the Courts are well air-conditioned, and a solicitor (lawyer) has made enough money to drive a decent car, it is simple to come out of an airconditioned house, into an airconditioned car and straight into an airconditioned court.A guy that will never appear fresh will not suddenly change just because he is wearing or not wearing wig and gown. Let us face the real issues and the larger picture and not mundane things How the world look at us in terms of wig and gown does not really matter to me, i have always loved the wig and gown and will always love it. Police changing their uniforms have not affected their attitude positively, so a change in wig and gown may not make any significant difference. IMO |
This our IG strong ooo, so he uses a 10 digit number, in addition to the supposedly legit 11 digits?(These numbers(08077446699 or 0810255581) are direct lines to ig -only short messages (SMS) : I raise yansh for the man join. Mumu people |
[b]I know what's gonna happen if I do. I want what's gonna happen if I do...I'm so so tempted but again, I'm a little bit hesitant. Because I really don't want to join issues with my former roommate who BTW is a sadistic witch! Gosh! This comment by the poster says it all, nid i sey moi? |
Two things: First class gives you a head up in the job market. Secondly, taking all those steps stated above will guarantee you a comfortable transition through the Uni vis-a-vis passing your exams, but your real grades are determined, often times, by sadistic old and even middle aged men who desire pleasure from making you spend extra time in the Uni. I recall that the least Grade i made in the Uni was a c+ and both lecturers (Company Law and use of english) were ladies and randy i must confess. I could now imagine what the male lecturers were doing to the female undergrads. Anyways, i still walked away with a 2.1 and Gosh, i had all my time and caught all the fun, putting it in an academic jargon, the university really passed through me and i came out happy. Today it shows....... |
please guys (n babes alike) any info on possible intakes for Doctoral Programmes? Universities in the West will be preferable, although UniLag is not in my radar. i understand they can frustrate a guy to te extent of spending 8 to 10 years on the programme |
@ Paleo You need to improve your written english except you are planning on running Masters programmes in French and German |
Re: Nigerian University Hostel Name & Shame Game by Lachynos2k2: 4:58am malabo republic hostel in unical..hall4 ,5 and 6..the most rugged i can eva think of...wow i miss unicalamity. Great Malabite........ I was there, saw it all. Hall 4, capital of Malabor republic (Unical. I spent all my time in Hall 4, had a brief stint in Hall 2 (Main Campus) but i swapped with a guy in hall 4. Basically 2 double bunk beds meant to accommodate 4 students and therefater each student harboured a squatter so you ended up with 8 guys in a room slightly larger or about the size of 12 by 12. The toilets were decent way back, and the light and feeding was ok, i dont know about now. However, you had to be a toughie to come out unscathed. Those that see danger and apply C-caution will overstand me Re: Nigerian University Hostel Name & Shame Game by Lachynos2k2: 4:58am malabo republic hostel in unical..hall4 ,5 and 6..the most rugged i can eva think of...wow i miss unicalamity. |
Nwankwo is way younger than me, and i am not any way near the age being bandied about. I can say this authoritatively because we have family relationships (at least until i started hearing stuff about him not being from Arochukwu). While i was in Uni, he was playing as a mercenary in the local football championships and he used to come from owerri then to play. Having said that, what has his age got to do with the fact that he played good football, made good money and is living large. Abeg make i hear word. |
I will find out on Friday morning and revert. I am personally doing teh haul to the eastern parts for teh easter holiday. when i get back, i will update you guys, but i would not take pictures oo |
I knew it was a farce just for the April fool stuff especially when i came across the suggestion that she finds her replacement. I read through to satisfy my curiousity buh it was a niice one though |
I urgently need a genuine Ipad 2 with Wifi and 3G capabilities for immediate purchase. I will prefer a 32G storage capacity. If you have something for grab, hit me up on hard_body99@yahoo.com or 08023200533. All calls to be dealt with discreetly. I could also do a neat fairly used with verifiable source. |
It might be Boko Haram at work oooo.police should explore that angle.just my thots. BTW, did the deceased jump? Methink people step out of elevators and if d first step is on a void, couldnt he have retraced that first step. The death of any human saddens me though |
Just wondering.....Iz it the same people taht will be in the banking hall all the time including when the expected (or unexpected) will happen? Worse still, iz it the same set of visitors that will be in teh banking offices and premises when the fire will come? I am just wondering oo, i am not saying the drill is not important. Whenever they do it in my office, i always tell them at the muster point that i do not believe in it, pure and simple. The last time they did, i nearly chose the window as an exit route, i was just not sure that in a real fire situation, i will be willing to go through the emergency staircase. |
Faithful Ko Faithless Ni. The more faithful you become, the more she takes advantage of you. Make her sit up, show her competition and she will cherish what she has. Mtcheewwwwwwww |
Stuupid post. Mtcheeeewwwwwww. Have you ever heard that adage 9abi na cliche) that if the kitchen is hot you get da forrk out of there ? If you cannot satisfy your partner sexually, rent a foorker, simple. |
Na wa for these people ooo. If they are this desperate about NYSC discharge certificates, they should go to Oluwole and get copies that are more genuine than the ones issued by the real authorities. They can get this for less than N20k sef. So why pay all those stupendous amount to 'serve'. They are not 'pragmatic' at all. Eediots. Why go through all the trouble to serve fatherland, which kind mumu fatherland be that one sef, 9ja? I dey laff in Hebrew. they should allow them to pass out and therefater send them to Boko Haram Land. I am sooo angry |
When you people were jubilating that they had been forced out of the roads, where were you guys expecting them to augment their incomes from?, una never hala. Very soon they will be conducting house-to-house arrests and guess what, the police have so much wide powers that if they are brilliant, the Criminal Procedure Act/Code and The Police Act could almost always cover whatever steps they might have taken to perpetuate illegality. |
All u need is a strong oratorial skill, brilliant dramatic skills, psychological skills to see fear and gullibility, a desire to cheat, defraud and obtain and a gullible and fickle minded audience |
^^^^^Lol, Bro, u r wrong oo, methink it is international passport as against the everyday passport you take with ur camera in cafes and business centres. The 9ja version is called the Ecowas passport and when last i checked, i saw parents with kids of less than one year getting their stuff sorted out |
Re: Crashed Helicopter That Killed DIG Haruna John Was Faulty by Tropilo(m): 38 minutes & 52 seconds They said the chopper was new? Maybe Belgium new! Its painful such a good man would die that way. He was CP Abuja 4-5yrs ago and he was a hard work unlike the average Nigerian Police Officer. May The GOOD LORD receive his Soul In Peace. I hear you. The only good policeman is a dead one. |
*****sighs*** and walks away |
Let me put it this way. If you want to practise law, and you have a good degree, and slightly well connected, the grade A Law firms will snap you up, considering you have a foreign degree, and believe me, their welfare package competes favourably and sometimes better than what some banks pay. The craze for foreign degree graduates in corporate employments is dying down, what with the low performance of their other contemporaries who could not fit into the demands of the labour market. If for some reason you do not get the employment of those elite law firms, and yet you are well connected, you may open a practice firm, streams of briefs may come through based on your affiliations. You may for this purpose employ a junior (fairly well remunerated) to take you through the rudiments and ropes of street practice in Nigeria (and i assume Lagos), briefs do not always come in regularly, but if you carve a niche, before long, you will be comfortable. In taking a decision, factor in the usual Nigerian issues, bad roads, traffic snarls, irregular power supply, crime and violence, health care, etc. In all, you can make good money and enjoy a level of legal practise depending on who you know, and how good you are. I am not able to answer the twin arm of your question. I do not have a definition of Nigerian men being sexist (either in the positive or negative sense), but suffice it to say that we are all humans with individual idiosyncracies and will definitely act differently in various situations. Finally do not believe everything you hear about Nigeria, some are really exaggerated but in all, you may choose to take some time to come and see things yourself, in the end, the choice is yours and i wish you the very best. |
Is it still available for sale? What is ur last offer, drop a number or e-mail address so we can talk. Post a pic of the SG. |
@ Flyboy The mileage is the last thing i check. Now note a few important check points: 1. When the ignition is turned on, watch the lights on the dashboard, if they do not ALL go off within 3 seconds, teh engine is becoming weak 2. When teh engine is running, open the bonnet and place a finger lightly on engine casing (or whatever is directly on top of the engine) if your finger shakes at the least, the engine is also not very strong 3. Take a close look at the brake pedals, if it is slightly worn to the right, it is an indication that the vehicle had been driven in traffic situations (go-slow as we call it in 9ja)meaning that teh engine has suffered more than a car that could have done longer distances but on a smooth drive 4. Apply your weight to the shock absorber areas, if they bounce unecessarily, then the shocks are bad. 5. Finally, dont compromise test driving a car, it could possibly tell you a lot more in terms of alignment and balancing. Let your auto technician also run some checks, but these simple body checks had helped me when i bought my first car in 2000 (Benz 200) at Cotonou. That car is still being driven today by a relation that i gave it out to. I hope this helps |

I havent ever attended a catholic church but i like their girls. At least they can always give u punny in the belief that they can confess the next day and get penance. Guess what?, the screwing continues. I so like that aspect of their belief. This is unlike some of their contemporaries that choose to send their members away as a form of punishment when they are caught forking ![]() |
