This Tebliq term sef is it a derogatory term or merely descriptive? I have heard some of my Yoruba friends use it derogatorily to describe 'local' Muslims who tend to carry Islam on their head in terms of their dress sense and general appearance. |
Well I am particularly happy for Amina Mohammed. In spite of my reservations about Buhari and all that he represents, I really wish Amina well because she is truly a rare gem. I have always known that she will tower higher and be entrusted with greater responsibilities... Ever since her days as SSA MDGs under Obasanjo. Such an intelligent, sensitive, conscientious, and super-capable woman. |
Most of these so-called celebrities are guilty; only two stand out in my view... Banky W and M.I. They both seem very educated - they both speak well and write well. |
Was this report written by an okitipupa motorpark tout? |
Nairaland's standard has really dropped. Full of bumbling, idiotic kids these days who can't contribute meaningfully to any topic. I come across old threads (2006-2010 ish) and can't help but be impressed by the quality of contributions by members those days. A person needs advice/help, and yet the first page is full of inanity. OP, the problem might be either psychological or due to physical inactivity. The best solution is to exercise as much as you can. For instance, try to do about 100 swings of skipping rope (or just use your hands in a position that simulates the motion if you don't have an actual skipping rope) every morning. It's a very effective exercise for improving blood circulation to the vital organs. Also take your mind off your past episodes with erectile failure. Take it to be nothing really, cos if you keep thinking about it and fearing that it might happen again then it would become a self-fulfilling prophesy. 80% of erection is psychological.. |
ibedun:You kids with no sense of history. Tunji Braithwaite is a nobody? A simple Google search would cure your monumental ignorance. |
I don't see what the big deal is even if he traveled just to watch the match. He is a multi billionaire, as his father is one of Nigeria's richest men, possibly has more money than Niger state government. www.nairaland.com/2273405/abubakar-sani-bello-richest-governor-elect www.forbes.com/profile/sani-bello He certainly doesn't need to spend government money on such a trip. |
Much ado about nothing. |
I'm not quite sure how the industry works, but do the big stars also demand payment before doing collabo with each other, like Flavour feat Psquare, MI feat Phyno, Iyanya feat D'Banj, etc? What about remixes like Kiss Daniel feat Davido and Tiwa, and such, did Kiss Daniel pay them? |
sukkot:Gbam. I'm repulsed at Nigerian men's generally low standards. Na dem dey make these 4/10 girls feel special. You would see an overweight, dirty and big-bellied slut feeling like a beauty Queen and doing shakara all because supposedly well to do guys give her reason to believe she is something. It's incredible. I hope Nigeria's economy goes into a deep recession so that men would understand the value of money. If it takes money to get a girl, then you might as well go for an 8/10 - 10/10 super hottie... Value for money. So that these other barely average sluts would beg for coins to eat in exchange for pussy. That's basically the norm in the US and other sane countries. You don't throw money at mediocre bitchess |
An N800m house? No Nigerian celebrity can afford even half of that at this time. That's almost $4m. Easy on the exaggerations and lies. |
Very interesting indeed. I have always wondered about this family and if all that is said about their extreme wealth and control over the world's banking system/economy is really true. |
6cence:He doesn't owe anybody any explanation, that is not how the law works in the civilised world. The onus of proof is always on the accuser. That means that the onus lies on the NDLEA to prove that he acquired those properties through drug trafficking. It's nobody's business how I made my money if they can't prove that I made it through criminality. |
sonOfLucifer:You sound like a complete idiott. Which court has found him guilty? What happened to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a competent court - which is central to the Rule of Law in any sane society? What an illiterate you must be. People like you should be run over by a truck.and have your empty brain splattered on the main road. Miserable dolt. |
Never make the mistake of renting a house in which the landlord lives. It is almost always a bad idea. |
We have all been following the CCB and Saraki saga. While fair-minded and objective observers have objected to the clear witch-hunt against Saraki, others who are either naive or mischievous or downright hypocritical are focusing on the guilt or otherwise of the accused. It is true that no one is above the law and that the main issue should be whether the accused is guilty or not. But that is only looking at one angle. Remember that the law presumes your innocence until you are proven guilty. The REAL issue is the Senate Presidency. If Saraki is subjected to the ignominy of a trial, it is expected that he would either resign or be impeached - which is the ultimate desire and endgame of his detractors. Now, if he is eventually found innocent of charges, you noise makers who claim to be interested in the rule of law would not clamour for his reinstatement as Senate President. You would not clamour for his sullied image to be cleaned. Countless examples abound in Nigeria, but I prefer to cite one particularly pertinent example from overseas which still rankles till date. Dominic Strauss-Kahn (DSK), one of the best leaders the IMF has ever had (and a frontrunner in the French presidential election at the time) , was subjected to this sort of public trial and ignominy, and was forced to relinquish his headship of the IMF as a result... Only for him to be found innocent afterwards. Was he reinstated as Head of the IMF? No. Is he still a frontrunner for the French presidency? No. Did the public care about that? No. Has his public image been reset to the pre-trial state? No. This is the issue. Some characters don't want a Saraki as Senate President, hence this ridiculous episode. As long as we agree that he is innocent until proven guilty, then we must understand the resistance to this CCB charade. . If Saraki will retain the Senate Presidency UNTIL the judicial processes are exhausted, then no problem. |
midolian:If Kwara State is Saraki's "asset", then Lagos, Osun, and to some extent OYO and Ogun are Bola Tinubu's ATM machines. You should have noted that in your stupid post instead of focusing on Saraki alone. Bloody hypocrite. |
Let's see whether this man can successfully take on the entire confraternity of Customs officers - who collectively have endless ways and means at their disposal. It would most likely be a futile and perhaps ultimately fatal undertaking. |
Seriously, I should have been a pastor. It's amazing how easy it is to wield so much power, to make people do anything you want. |
histemple:Excuse my ignorance, but can you direct me to the specific law that criminalises adultery in Nigeria? Thank you. |
I don't understand how or why this is news. Is it the fact that two consenting adults are having a sexual affair or the fact that one is a lecturer and the other is a married woman. What's new here? Adultery (which happens every minute in every street everyday) or what exactly? And as for Leadership Newspaper, this is disgraceful reporting. What do you mean by "crime scene" as stated somewhere in the report? What crime was committed? |
Image123:.. It is better to think up and implement intelligent systems to block loopholes and reduce opportunities for corruption. That is the way forward in this day and age. What I have against Buhari and this his fellow Abokki dinosaur is that they are too stuck in their 1984 ways and too dependent on outdated threat, fire and brimstone based 'strong man' methods. This is unsustainable and cannot achieve anything meaningful. |
This old cow would soon learn the lesson of his life. You want to "jail" corrupt customs officers? Assuming you have the judicial powers to do so, how about sacking the entire workforce and jailing all of them immediately. There are no saints here sire... Look, this Abokki who obviously does not understand the workings of the NCS would be frustrated beyond breaking point and he would end up dying at his table. |
4bobo:She managed to get close to him because she is a "babe", simple as that. A guy would have never been allowed to get even within 50 meters of the governor. |
dskenky:Another thinking being that is making the right observations and asking the right questions..Not the sentimental and primitive fools that seem to be in the majority here and elsewhere across Nigeria. Always comforting to see. |
Hope15:Thank you very much. It is always heartwarming to find someone here who is knowledgeable and rational. |
mitnick:Thank you. Sometimes I feel very ashamed of my generation of Nigerians. Always baying for blood, looking for who to skin alive with their mob justice mentality. All noise, brawn, and no brain, no substance. You don't even need to be a lawyer to know that Kate is not culpable in any way. There is nothing like negligence in this case. It's just shameful how many supposedly educated Nigerians reason. Primitive buffoons. |
castiello:Illiterate, find an educated person around you (if any) to explain what I am about to lecture you on... The key thing is that Kate did not cause the fire. Her appliance (the AC) did not directly cause the fire. What caused the fire was a power surge, which is entirely the fault of the power company... Even a rookie lawyer would not waste his time charging Kate to court for negligence because it is absolutely not the case. Let the landlord direct his grievances at the power company. We cannot allow sentiments get the better of our rationality. In civilised climes, we would be talking about pressing charges against the power company. Not this rubbish talk about not turning off one's AC. Negligence means that one's own actions or in actions were responsible for something. For instance, if I leave my house in the morning without turning off my tap water in the kitchen, and then water overflows to flood the entire house and my neighbours house, then that is Negligence because my (in)action was DIRECTLY responsible. Nigerians are fond of looking for a scapegoat to blame for everything. You should use your fucking brains sometimes. Primitive creatures. |

in as much i know the reckless driving of many politicians and their aides, i found this piece above hardly to believe to confront a sitting governor like that. The way their securities will even prevent you moving closer to him/her will be dramatic, talkless of talking to him anyhow like that in the presence of his aids. Part of the story might be through but hype .
