Even Supreme Court Justice Samuel Onnoghen? So that the post of CJN would remain in the North? This is such a sad, sad day for democracy. Our democracy is dead. Long live Democracy. |
Ogalanya Ngada diegwu. Heavyweight champion of prosperity and influence. |
Abiodun is a correct boy. He no get problem. |
This new nairabet mobile site is a hot mess. Extremely laggy and buggy, difficult to operate and navigate, a bloody waste of time and too frustrating for words to describe. I am certainly not putting anymore funds into this nonsense site if it doesn't revert to the former one. What was the point of the so-called upgrade in the first place? As the Americans say, if it's not broken, don't try to fix it. I've never commented here but I was forced to because of this irritating nairabet experience. Bet9ja would be the next port of call. |
Oga gra-gra would not solve the problem. Just grant them their wish and get them to sign an agreement that it's just a three month concession. If you try any other gimmick, you would surely regret it. I know many people that have lived in their rented apartments for free for more than a year and in some cases more than two years due to lingering court cases with their landlords. To avoid this finger biting experience, thread softly. Three months no dey Tey to reach. |
GiONEE M5 does not have a "4G only" option, other than the 4g/3g/2g auto mode. This will be a problem because we all know that Glo network frequently toggles its mobile network modes when in auto mode, oscillating recklessly from 3g to edge and interrupting one's downloads. |
Once I make that £3m, I will change my 12 year old SIM card and just start afresh. I'll give only very few worthwhile people my new number and cut off the umpteen nuisances that one has been associated with one way or the other during the long spell in the wilderness. In other words: When you reach some landmarks in life, old things must pass away in order for you to enjoy the new beginning. |
Mariory:You should have simply avoided quoting me since you have run out mental ammunition. You are not equipped to argue sensibly with anyone, so quit "blabbing" and go and sleep, young man. |
Mariory:The intriguing question is why you and your Yoruba brethren are still supporting Buhari in spite of his outstanding and overwhelming ineptitude... In spite of unprecedented hardship, inflation, unprecedented surge in the price of basic commodities, and the general gale of misery and hunger spreading across the land. Are you saying that all this is not Buhari's fault in the eyes of the sophisticated Yoruba people? The Yoruba would rather blame Jonathan, right? Most Yoruba 'hactivists' gathered at Ojota or swarmed the conventional and social media to make noise in 2012 when the price of fuel was increased. As a listening and compassionate president, Jonathan ensured that the price was reduced and was never increased again until he left office.. Unfortunately, the same Yorubas supported Buhari's wicked fuel price increase this year, going as far as giving very ridiculous and hypocritical justifications. Since then the fuel price has stayed that way. That's the first time in history that there has not been a reduction in fuel price after an announced increase after public agitation and labour strike action. This was mostly because of Yoruba support for Buhari's heartlessness, so he was emboldened to allow the fuel price increase stand without making any concession whatsoever. What does this tell you? |
T9ksy:You're not sure of where you stand, my friend. It seems that you're a bit confused about whether there is a difference between hating Jonathan and not liking Buhari. Think about that. Campaign season is long over. Jonathan is long gone. Buhari has been in the saddle for almost two years now. Long enough time to see that he has nothing to offer, and long enough to show that he is more incompetent, and more anti-masses than any other president we have ever had... Chasing PDP and Jonathan era officials upandan in the name of fighting corruption cannot conceal his gross incompetence and ineptitude. So why can't your brethren objectively assess Buhari on the strength of his own abysmal performance so far, without being blinded by bigoted and misplaced hatred for Jonathan. Why lie that Buhari is "working" just because you don't like the humble man from Otueke called Jonathan? |
mrgafari:So when, if ever, will you turn against Buhari... In spite of his colossal failure to manage the economy, resulting in the most rapid inflation ever witnessed in Nigeria within a year; and in spite of his shielding his corrupt appointees such as Abba Kyari, Burantashi, Dambarawo, and so on? Why haven't you turned against him even after learning about his indifferent stance to the illegal CBN and FIRS recruitments which corruptly favoured his relatives and the relatives of other APC stalwarts? What of his tacit approval of Fulani Herdsmen's genocidal activities across Nigeria? When, my good friend, will you and the rest of Yorubaland turn against Buhari? |
Daniel1990:I think this is most likely the reason for their irritating and sheepish defence of Buhari. Some of them complain of hardship, and yet they will still tell you that it is not Buhari's fault, that he is working hard to 'fix' Nigeria, which will take time. Such a hopelessly pathetic suffering and smiling mentality. |
Every where I go to - every random bar or lounge, street corner, academic setting of so called intellectuals, or corporate forum... it appears that most Yoruba people are adamant that Buhari is working. It is almost unbelievable. Now I understand why some people accuse them of being political and social slaves to the North. What has Buhari done for Yorubaland to deserve such extreme level of zombie-like followership? |
Lol. This guy is my new hero. I love him to death, no homo. Epic sarcasm. |
Is there an audio recording of the alleged statement, or should we simply believe the random testimony of a random Facebook user? |
I pity his unfortunate students. |
There is a dimension of Melaye's proposition that I agree with and recommend for immediate rebooting of the economy. This kind of 'amnesty' should be couched as a discreet pre-prosecution plea bargain applicable to ONLY those suspected to have looted PRIOR to the inception of this Buhari administration in May 2015. New school thieves like Buhari's Chief of Staff Abba Kyari who have engaged in corruption during this new administration must not be included in this arrangement. The continuous hounding of businessmen, contractors and political figures associated with the Jonathan administration has played a massive role in triggering the recession we are facing currently. Individuals who have large piles of cash in both local and foreign currencies are hoarding them (rather than ploughing them back into the economy) for fear of being harassed by the new government and its EFCC goons. This does not benefit anyone. Devising a unique arrangement where some money can be recovered from these individuals in exchange for some peace of mind would be a far better solution to our current problems than this myopic idea of selling off national assets. Let's get one thing clear. Buhari's so-called anti-corruption obsession should not be directed backwards. That's where we keep getting it wrong. Assuming that he is honest about fighting corruption and ending the old ways, he must overlook the past and focus on the golden opportunity for a new beginning. He should see old things as having passed away, and face the easier task of preventing or severely punishing new corruption under his watch. That is what Nigerians expected, not this obsession with the past that has not yielded any meaningful benefits for the economy and for the masses as a whole. |
These people must think that Nigerians are idiots. I don't blame them; maybe the majority are, after all. The contention was never about whether or not Burantashi duly declared his assets. The mere act of declaring one's assets does not exculpate an individual from answering to the criminal acquisition of such assets. The contention was and still is how he acquired those assets - with ample evidence provided by investigative journalists that he acquired the assets through his participation in procurement fraud and other instances of criminal abuse of office. Why haven't these allegations been investigated and addressed? Why hasn't the idiot been sacked, arrested, paraded in handcuffs, and charged to court like the other Jonathan era military chiefs? |
Lucky her. I envy those who are dead and gone - Ecclesiastes 4:2-12 She has found eternal peace. |
BingoBuhari:If I had the power, I would decree that men should always be employed over females when their qualifications and capabilities are of the same range, unless only a woman is able to do the job. In this society, it is sad to see girls being unfairly handed jobs, even when men need those jobs more...... Was it not a so-called man of God called Adeboye that advised women not to marry a man without a job, but I've never seen where a woman's unemployed status counts against her when a man likes her enough to date or marry her. Men need the jobs more for the mere fact that men are expected to be financially responsible. In this part of the world, a man's suitability is measured by the size of his relative income,, so it is sad to see girls using their feminity (rather than superior competence/skills) to jostle and obtain these scarce jobs. Later they will have the effrontery to look down on an unfortunate guy as 'jobless'. It's such a sad situation; too many things about life in Nigeria are just too tragic. |
Google says Hillary Clinton's "longstanding personal doctor" is a certain Lisa Bardack, so which one should I believe. |
Perfection. Perfect face, perfect ass. Perfect sex appeal. Just great. |
Lordsocrates:Assuming (but not conceding) that your submission is correct, is it not only before a court that the 'accused' needs to prove his innocence by tendering evidence of his source of wealth? The suspect in this instance is not yet an 'accused' or defendant, since he has not yet been prosecuted in court... So does the law require the suspect to explain his source of wealth to investigators (not to the court)? That's really all I am interested in knowing. |
Lordsocrates:I need only intelligent responses and direct answers to my posers please. Don't bother to quote me if you have nothing meaningful to say. |
I need a knowledgeable lawyer to show me where it is stated in the EFCC Act (or any other enabling law) that a 'suspect' is legally obligated to explain the source of his wealth to interrogators. I can understand voluntarily choosing to do so in order to starve off further investigation, but is it compulsory by law? Does the failure to explain the source of one's wealth constitute a crime in itself and by itself?. Is it punishable by law to refuse to explain the source of your wealth? What if I have a secret but legal way of making money that I refuse to let out? I need to be enlightened on this. Is it not the responsibility of the EFCC to investigate and ascertain whether the wealth was acquired through criminal means? We want to establish how he came about the N4billion hotel and whether or not he is a business front for some political office holders. Why not establish this first before rushing to the media to cry that he has not explained where he got money to acquire the hotel, as if he is legally obliged to to so. |
skarlett:Women sha. Hillary Clinton 'forgave' her husband Bill in spite of the monumental multiple cheating scandals with Monica Lewinsky and other women... . Because he was President! Would she have forgiven him if he was a commoner? The woman had an agenda, like most women worldwide. Would she have been on the verge of becoming the first female president of the United States today if she had "left" her husband because of ordinary cheating then? As a Nigerian woman that you are, would you leave your cheating husband if he is a governor, minister, or a super rich and successful man? We both know your honest answer already, so no need to respond. There is too much double standard in this world and it makes me sick. Too much bla bla bla over nothing. Na only for average man body una sabi form nonsense. |
diehard:Is that not what Buhari and his shamelessly partisan INEC are doing now? You people are so jaundiced. |
grossintel:Yes o. The US security services know a lot but choose to ignore a lot. All the small time fraudsters and hackers are ignored and allowed to enjoy their loot because a large scale security threat is not involved. Try to use bitcoin to accept ransom for a high profile kidnap (say, the wife of the Federal Reserve Chairman), and then you will know that UNCLE SAM knows everything. They will track you down in a matter of hours, no matter your location. |
It's a shame, to be honest. |
Distressing news. |
koladebrainiac:That's correct. |
tonero230:So when did their friendship turn sour? |
no transaction done on the internet is untraceable, wait till NSA come knocking on ur door before you believe they aren't stupid.
