update: Thanks to every one that suggested that i should move on... but i have tried to and it isn't working. i haven't slept since she broke the news to me. i have enough reasons to give back my pound of flesh ...... because of this girl, i am not in good relationship with my family, my family accused me of carrying another family's responsibilities and neglecting mine. i sat down and took my time to evaluate the amount of money i expanded on the family and my babe, it ws over 900k.excluding eateries,gifts,recharge cards and so on. she sent me a text last nite and u cnt imagine, she asked me to check all my expenses on her and that she is willing to pay me twice the amount...This girl can never go scot free, never. Nobody has a monopoly of wickedness..... since she could send such useless text to me, Hmmmmmm...... i jst ask forgiveness from God for my intent towards her.....u cnt hurt some people dearly and expect to move on happily while the other suffers in depression and pain. thanks nairalanders for your good will(s).

Be thankful she didnt wakeup one morning after marriage and call it off. Its a case that happens that people do not want to accept.Yes you are in love with someone for 20years but I am telling you they can wakeup one morning and dont love you anymore.Men cover theirs by trying outside and nasty experience bring them back but dear its unfortunate it happened to you but you over did it maybe and you are getting the nasty side of her.
If for any reason you both were in love for years that should let you lower your ego(you think its hurt) and move on.You are alive so concentrate on your family now and give them 900k too that way you feel you didnt over do outside.

I am a believer of "recently around developing countries particularly Africa,people tend to want to see who they love suffer and if they dont see them do that there is a feeling something is missing".

Please do but understand my stand,in that case his seat was dclared vacant by the President who the court held he doesnt have such power and the constitution said a President's nomination is only valid when he has nominated a vice so you see thats the courts definition of Executive office but here the main man has left the party who owns the mandate and his vice hasnt and even if the vice has the next man in rank the speaker might still be there.Its simple case of interpretation,that's why there are courts you know.
The court would have to interprete the judgement you want us to believe that is if it will be cited.
What I think anyone who has foresight shoule be asking is then they should also have asked the court to compel INEC to allow them do another primaries should a case arise where the Gov,Vice and other ranks declared by the constitution to take over have also left the party.

Delafruita: as referenced in the case you quoted,defendants included the FG,the AGF and the IGP.much as atiku's intention was to seek an interpretation of the constitution as regards his crosscarpeting and declaration of his seat as been vacant,we should not lose sight of the fact that the AGF been listed as a defendant along with the FG and INEC technically means it isn't just a case of the legality or otherwise of his seat been declared vacant by the president,it has more to do with his seat been declared vacant by whomever.

Nowhere from sections 176-191 is crosscarpeting listed as a reason for a seat to be declared vacant.sections 188 and 189 detail conditions under which a governor may be removed and decamping is none of them.

Nice we are agreeing on something.
His seat was declard vacant and his rights withdrawn,he would have gone to court restraining the President/PDP and ask the Judge to do that through an order without the other party being heard but his lawyers were sound and saw an opening.
In this case I cannot even takeup the case because will not end well.Yes I understand anyone's sentiment but like in the days of Obj,he knew he was wrong but if for 3 months he can keep Atiku away from state power he considered ot an achievement.
I am only predicting these govs will not be in office at either at this court or appeal,its the same game keep them away for a time and see how you can weaken them even if for a moment.Look at what happened,as at when Atiku got his judgement he was in UK,if you can keep them away from allocation for 2 months many of them will travel out.

Delafruita: the case of PDP v Atiku wasn't a case of who is legally empowered to declare a seat vacant,rather it was a case of "can a seat be declared vacant because an elected official decamped to another party and the SC ruled in effect that though political parties contest election,it is not binding that individuals elected on the platform of a party must remain in that party post-election.the case of amaechi is similar to the ararume v pdp/onyema in imo.the difference was that judgement was issued in ararume's case before the election and inec had to recognize him as the pdp candidate.pdp then sent a letter to inec indicating it was withdrawing from the elections and hence ararume had no platform.in amaechi'ss case,the case remained in court before the election and continued till after omehia had been sworn in.its conclusion was that the case was strictly a pre-election case and couldn't be treated as a post-election case.it was a simple case of "in the eye of the law,omehia was never a candidate of the pdp and so amaechi should be sworn in as governor".that is a totally different case from decamping.

I have seen the prayers at Appeal and it was about if the President can declare his seat vacant which were in the actions,go through you will find where it's was stated that there is evidence to show both werent in good relationship.
Also notice I didnt cite Imo as I am working on available facts and actions before the court. No PDP is not wasting their time.I also was like how could someone like Obj's lawyer do the submissions he did kowning the outcome, as the court stated " The president has no right under the constitution to declare the VP position vacant"
So we need to know what the prayers were and how many were granted not what most persons here believe.
We cannot keep arguing over a judgement no one has pasted even a paragraph but I suggest you read the Appeal's

commenced this action by an originating summons

action was instituted under the original jurisdiction
of that court provided for in section 239(1) of the
1999 Constitution. His claim before the court is as

and 142 (2) of the Constitution of the

I think I feel funny when people comment without having idea of atleast 50% of the facts about Obj vs Atiku or Attorney Gen & others vs Alh. Atiku.

To be frank I think in the above case the question was whether Mr. President/PDP has the right to declare the V.P's seat vacant,the court held that the President cannot drop the VP AFTER elections,so you see here its the main man who leads the mandate that defected.Obj went about it wrongly that is why I think they are trying this option,go to court and since the court says we dont have the right let the court tell us in this instance make a declaration.Its like saying interprete the S.C judgement.Trust me the above case might not be cited as here its a party trying to ask the court give it its mandate that its Principal flag bearer has taken to another party which any court will look at and grant

You need to tell your parents so they can help you with caring for the children and so you and the "hot chicks" can go about your normal lives as you have "better things" in sight.

Let me give you my verdict before i begin. Its a relationship to be avoided whenever possible.

Although it's true that one's ethnic background plays a dominant role in the way one behaves, I doubt if that will be an issue so long as both parties have adequate understanding, also I'll have to counteract one of your point were you pointed out that such marriages do not last, that is highly fallacious, so couple's tribal difference does not determine the success of their marriage. Rather it's effective communication and understanding.

There isnt supposed to be any problem but there is around here and I wish there is that understanding and extended family pressure handled together.

I like to bring to your notice that any inter tribal marriage with no child might not last,infact if the man from an inter tribal union remarries 8/10 will be from his tribe.

people just readily use it as an excuse when problem comes. there's more pain in intra-tribal marriages than inter-tribal. as long as there's love between the 2 parties, nothing should make them lose focus.

I know you have your experience but I have tried not to be hard on any tribe and understand I said if they are isolated means I know there is love,but does that stop a mother inlaw's anger from the west whose daugher from the east who hasnt given birth? Show me a childless home they have lived 10 years and I can tell they are either strong faithfuls of any faith or not inter tribe.
Not trying to prove you wrong but can anyone mention 3 problems that can occur and inter tribal marraige is used as an excuse?

Let me be frank with you,most SANs in Nigeria dont want their names on cases with much publicity and they fail.
Atiku's case is different from Gov. Amaechi to me.Now the question is "when they approach the courts what will be their prayer?"
Once a court grants this which it'll without hearing the other party,the Gov stands removed.He'll appeal by himself as his new party might not have a ground to,the appeal might go six months to 1year by then we are almost at election he is no longer in control of party structure in the state and anyone who wins primaries gets the state.His judgement will come even if in his favor but the tenure has elapsed.
My opinion though.

It's fun to see two love birds no matter where they come from,but the truth is there are issues that we havent resolved that will come up;battle line drawn and maximum give the union 20yrs.Except in cases where the union is isolated from the family of the man which no one can bear.

These issues scared our parents to their bones and they preferred within your tribe,and you cannot blame them.Look at the war between the East and West here alone and imagine their sisters getting married to the other tribe,while the elites have their common ground they still shy away even from inter tribal marriage.

Lets atleast be frank,it has its challenges.I commend the eastern women they can really risk it though I see most ending up badly but look at others;look at Akwa Ibom,she'll prefer to stay single till 35 if she doesnt find a man of same language and the instruction of her mother.

Not promoting any tribe,but pained we were supposed to cross lines our parents couldnt


Modified: I think this thread was misunderstood, not discouraging inter tribal marriages but asking what instance have you seen,what pressure did they face and how was it handled? Thats the essence of this thread and was the purpose of the last sentence.

It must be made clear that no man goes to meet a prostitude with a clear mind,like no man beats his wife with clear heart.Something is eating him and maybe he has lost it.

Same way no woman in her clear mind decides to make a living by opening her legs,I feel pity for them and really wish I can help but still have my plans though.

If you interviewed them some don't even have an home to sleep some ra-pe victims who lost sense of reason after the incident and you need to be frank about what happens at offices too to know there is really no difference only these ones dont take care of themselves,its an overall sad case.

When I read through this post I was expecting to see the op saying and she "she helped a fellow woman by either stopping and giving one 500 to feed or removing the 10th of her salary for 6months, pay a rent and ask these ladies to go stay or find an NGO incharge of recovering these ladies from the streets and offer to help";but its about men sleeping with "dirty women"...no man will ever describe his fellow man with such.

We really have a long way to go around here in matters of the heart,these women were once in their prime of beauty and whatever happened to their skin and welfare,op I hope you and many others can understand they need help and doesnt matter what they do with thr help.Some accept and still go back but trust me they dont last before they come to their senses.

In as much as I like to believe the spouse who stopped driving and parked at middle of no where deserves to be purnished I like to advice my fellow men,we have to accept the male folks have the more tendency of dying and since that's true " we need to riseup and be the men our mothers trained us to be and do it with love".She can nag all night but we need to teach ourselves how to overcome these emotional abuse without turning to monsters(let us accept drinking or bullying doesnt solve it).

We have always been knwon as the only gender that cant tell his follow "drive your wife".But we need to help more.In this case he could have called his friend up and stayed with his family or by the car till the alternative comes.

We need to learn to stay calm in middle of these.I might not have experience but we take anything dished out at work with such high spirit and hone shouldnt be a problem.Yes we expect home to be a paradise but if its not then we have to find a way to atleast see tomorrow.

Makes no sense when we cannot commit suicide but we keep exposing ourselves to harms way without reason.I like to see a man get up at 2am to go pickup his fellow man stranded on highway and make his wife speak withe the other wife;that is what we are knwon for.Nothing should change that
