otilowaju:Thank you for this. I got a lot of insights on what to gift my kids teachers at end of year. The aim is to appreciate the teachers for their efforts throughout the term. It’s not a bribe in anyway plus, the child is already leaving that class to a new grade/teacher. Also it’s not easy, that’s why parent are very happy when school resumes and they can have a neat quiet home again. Appreciate teachers always |
Rtk5:These are the books used to these days. I believe some schools inflate the prices because they deal with the publishers directly unlike before. Also, in those days na 1 text book a whole family Dey use and pass down to younger ones, these days they ensure the kids write inside the text book so no other child can use it, hence more spending |

I have severally, there are vverry good people in this world o. My story today howeever is on when i was the nice person. I was travelling to the north. Some people who i suspected came for training enter the sienna as well, 2men and one lady. I sidon last row with 2 of them and 1man sidon front. I see say the man wear ring but not the lady,2 of them were kissing and smooching near me, i tire. when they pass memo to me, i noticed their names where different, i figured she wasnt his wife. So we began d journey when we reached ondo side, na so this man.faint o. Apparently he was asthmatic and the dust from the road triggered attack. He couldnt breathe so i had to hold the door of the moving sienna from Akure side till kabba. All the men in the sienna throway face. Including his friend, we dey ask am wetin we go do, he say he no know concern. Side chic confuse, begin cry. Driver no stop oo, bone face. Na with my second hand i join the 2 other women dey fan am. Till we reach tarred road and he regain himself. Thank you, this man no tell me. But i no mind, because anything make am die. Wahala, esp for that girl and the colleague. When we reach our destination, our fellow passenger driver come. We join her, me and the colleague. Na there he say he no know the girl b4 etc, but he knows the wife. He buy plaintain, bread etc dey go house, so he struck me like a family person. I sensed bc of that he was displeased with the girl and his colleague sef |
I see nothing wrong with it. It was a mid-husband (man of mid-wife) that assisted me through contractions. They are alot of male nurses general hospitals. Plus only male nurses are allowed on board ships with multinationals like LNG them |

Op, I cant advise you to marry her or not but I can tell you first hand information from my brother's hot tempered wife. She go change, she go cool etc them marry. After they got married they stayed 1 week with us before moving to their house. Omo, that week na die. For night oo, morning oo Fight. Everyday, my bro get fresh scratch for all him neck and hand. My mama say mk he no retaliate (though he slapped her too), he is smallish, she is big. After them move, the situation got worse. At least in my presence and presence of my siblings, she pour am glass of water, and in her anger constantly abuses him. Pour him hot water for him hand. What broke the camel's back was when she chased him with knife, he ran and locked the door. All my uncles and aunties pack go there to throway her load o, her people said its spiritual problem. Then they already had 4kids, where them go start from? After that she opted for religion, prayers, vigils etc, it helped calm her down. She started a business too, it keeps her busier, plus the 4kids. She is better now, after 11years marriage Your own story might be like this, might be worse or might be better. But I pray you both come out triumphant and alive Ps: they got 2 quit notices from different landlords bc of the quarell. Another of my brother dated one of the landlord pikin, he say during extra-cool he dey hear their quarell, when he asked she say its your brother and his wife. Shame go dey catch am |

Second one, spent the whole interview asking about my husband too , I tell am the work my husband dey work, he said "that job, I know how much they pay them", I no answer am. Interview finish, he say tell your husband you have work boyfriend oo (con use laff cover am), i left and never returned oI have been freelancing/in between jobs ever since. The pilots are dead, Boko Haram posted a video to that effect. The jet was shot down, and both pilots FL ABOLARINWA and FL EBIAKPO burnt to death. The video also showed boko haram members stepping on their bodies/matching them sha to check they were dead. Their personal belongings e.g. phone, air pods, name, money etc was also displayed. Ebiakpo was one of the very few Jet pilots from Niger-Delta.

ernecy:Na true...you see, I never even read all these people own before I write epistle and na same thing we dey talk. |
YoungAncient1:@kenny1111 Same thing I was going to say. My boy did not talk at 3years, talkless of read or write anything. Sometimes (not always) this slow pace is common with first borns. Because at 2, my second born can read A-Z, 1-20, identify colours and shapes, sing rhymes and do 2-letter words. Concerned dad, your worry is valid o. No parent wont be concerned. Here are some tips on what I did (my boy was 3years and 9months after Nursery 1 but could only identify A-E, 1-8 or so. He could write only 1 and A, anything you ask him to spell na C-U-P, any colour you ask am na blue) 1. I changed his school, the previous school aided his laziness. If he doesnt feel like writing, he wont write (this may not apply to you and xhange of school now is expensive if you consider uniform etc). The teacher writes for him too, shuuu, I ran with my hand and leg o. I put him in a better school, but I DIDNOT repeat his class ie Nursery 1 again, because I believed he will catch up. In that class the kids could spell their names, do basic math + -, write, 1-100, Aa-Zz, copy from board. His dad say, this boy doesnt know 1-20, how do you expect him to cope, the kids in that school are too intelligent for him etc. 2. I reduced how I beat him drastically, because I dey flog faya oo , his dad will talk "wetin the small pikin know, when you dey flog am like this". I noticed I was not correcting anything, just killing the boy's spirit with each stroke. I go beat am so tey the whole book go soak with cry, because his inability to write and read (which was not his fault) annoyed me, I was an inch close to toxicidity. His crying, distorts his understanding3. I employed home lesson teachers and I watched their methods. They (the first one was always full of excuses for missing the classes without calls or text sef, I pursue am. Im a mother on a mission, i no get time for "swegbe" levels) never flogged, they employed alot of motivation and sometimes scare (when he starts over familiarity) 4. I bought white board and marker, the teachers taught him with the board and when they werent around, he wrote on the board. The different colour of marker dey sweet am to use. 5. I greet the class teacher once a month with 500 recharge card, she con carry his matter for head. She taught him extra, was more attentive to him. Now, why am I saying this, if you meet his teacher after curfew to query her or ask questions that make her seem incompetent (even if she is), it may backfire. People respond better to encouragement, "Aunty XYZ, I know the calibre of teachers here oo (praise her small, mk all head swell). Please what is going on with my kid?, ehennn okay, what is your system of teaching?, is there a play-away method or any method used to help them remember?? Etc. The answers she gives, may be helpful to your wife in teaching him at home 6. I taught him any day his teachers didnt come like sunday, I used words like "You can do it...", when he does he go reply "I did it" , "Be focused, be bold and be confident in what you know (since he always ask me, mummy "is 2 like this, will D face this side, is this how to etc". I did assignment with him, I didnt leave home work for lesson teacher (teach your own) 7. I got loads of placards, A-Z, 1-100, 2-4 letter words. I played ABC song everyday. I gave him small cane, make he take dey teach him baby (I was surprised at how much he knows). 8. I visited the school atleast once in 2weeks to check their book, ask about their progress. My schedule is flexible, so I go in the morning, spend like 30mins. I once caught him unaware doing spiderman laro kutukutu (very early, dey dirty him clean uniform, he shock when he see my straight face , I nearly burst laugh ![]() Every child is different, some learn early. Some will get to 4 -5 , 6 sef before them pick up. You just do your path, the day that boy picks he will be super smart because he don get small sense join. Ps: He is 4years+ now, I spelt CIRCLE wrongly, baba come correct me oo. After 4 month of my "Operation you must pick up". Now I buy him novels, he dey read to me. I started with Queen Premier 1, 2. Then I got Peter and Jane series 1a, 1b. The school gave him 3 books from WAP series, then I bought 3 more from book shop. Baba dey read everything as at June/july this year. He dey solve addition and subtraction unassisted, he doesnt always get the right answer but its always close. He has started learning time and how to read "my book of bible stories". The time line : September 2019- date, as at June/july, he had caught up (all that lock down period, I dey fire am back to back. He finish his text book, I bought the next class). When I got lesson teacher, I was a bit relieved too, stress of 2 kids ( I no maid) fit mk person taya, vex dey carry beat these kids. Concerned Dad, with a little consistency all will be well. That you are worried means you are kuku on the right track. Hope these tips were helpful Mind you he plays oo. Most evenings, sundays too. He watches NatGeo Wild and JimJam every day for some hours (disney junior sometimes but just Bluey, T.OTS and Puppy Dog Pals, the rest shows are not as educative) |
Its only grace and wisdom that parents of nowadays will use o. OP, no be only you waka come o, bc On my kids school PTA group on whatsapp, fellow parents complained about gifts. That "party packs" should not be shared, I do allow gifts though, but as the life dey change, im getting wiser as well o, and accepting of gifts dey stop small small. This is my opinion ooooo Below is a primary school class that died o, after eating one cake abi biscuit of party, it had poison inside. Them no know. Cc Sebastine1994,

All these replies just they make me laugh. The day I use left select okrika, the seller nearly cut my hand. If you can use your right hand just use it abeg. To start explain in this society is difficult. HOWEVER, THERE ARE TWO EXCEPTIONS OOO 1. If the right hand is amputated. You cant expect the person to use the right hand. There is a lady i bought plantain from, she was one handed and was still struggling to use the right hand. We assisted her but I wish she knew I dont mind, as should right thinking members of the society. See amputees_are beautiful on ig 2. Where the person is born left handed, abeg parent protect them. Many great people are left handed. My aunt was left handed, her parents said its not acceptable and gradually changed her. It affected her assimilation because the use of their left hand is from their brain. She eventually gave birth to a left handed child, she protects him like egg. Before any body open mouth talk say 'small boy change your hand", she don rush reach there say mk them leave him. The left hand na part of him body. Today the boy is fully left handed, eat with left hand, writes, uses phone, washes etc all with left hand. He may have grown a thick skin to Nigerians though because his mama no go always dey there to shield him. In this modern life, people are more aware of perculiarity of a left-handed child. They are more now than before when them they change them. I believe this has made more people accepting of left hand. |

20 and 8months, hubby was 26. Cut your coat according to your cloth. I avoided friends and even family with unrealistic/pressuring advice, why dont your husband do this, why dont your husband do that, tell him to do this etc. Work hard, support the way you can dont leave everything for him to do. eg. I buy small basic things that one cannot really do without. Im handy too, i fix and replace leaking taps, sockets. Na me dey on generator mostly because I feel he dey tired (person just come back from outside dey begin draw gen, yiish)when he is not he puts it on. This is the little I do, especially when he is stressed or doesnt have money (when man no get money he character dey change, so be calm loving and supportive). This is not to say we are not deeply flawed people oo, we have our moments. Just love, pray, respect each other, know your triggers and red buttons. |

Good day house, well done to all the selfless individuals providing answers. Please Advice. I am finished with a 4.18 from Law, 2.1 from law school and I which to do my LLM (master's) in Canada by God's grace. I am considering a number of universities based on the following factors: 1. Nature of the course (is it general LLM or LLM in a particular field or is it a MA) 2. Requirement of English language proficiency 3. Cost of housing in that province/area 4. Acceptance rate for international students 5. Cost of Tuition 6. That I have 2kids (4 and 2) Now, I am still learning about this process and combing through the universities' websites and nairaland trends, which has been a great deal of help. With this, I found comfort in applying to University of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. However, I still need guidance. 1. Are study permits granted to persons with kids, without the spouse? 2. Lawyers in the house, is an LLM worth it or should I apply for other law related courses? 3. Are there other things that are not within my contemplation, especially with regards to kids? 4. Are there scholarship opportunities available, to supplement the fees. 5. The whole process appears a bit complex, do you advise I do it myself or use an agent (how much will this cost on a average) Thank you. @Frankrobbn1,@Naijaforeigner ,@JustMellow, @mcobex, @Austacus, @Lekiboboe @Justwise |
