To commemorate the 42nd death anniversary of the legendary dramatist, Chief Duro Ladipo, the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding (CBCIU) and Family members have celebrated the cultural master of stage theatre icon and playwright after his transition, Voiceairmedia reports.

This was unfolded today by the Executive Director, CBICU, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso during a remembrance at the CBICU hall in Abere, Osogbo, Osun State capital as part of activities heralding a week-long programme of 42nd anniversary of the late Duro Ladipo.

While delivering speech, Prof. Philip Adedotun Ogundeji, Dept. Of Linguistic & African Languages, University of Ibadan, who lectured on "Duro-Ladipo: The Quest For Good Leadership And Yoruba Cultural Values".

Prof. Philip described Late Duro Ladipo as a director, playwright, composer, principal actor of the theatre company, his stories were told to the world in Yoruba dialect; yet he won trophies on the international stage.

VoiceAirMedia recalls that The actor and playwright was celebrated 2 years ago, on 40th Anniversary, on March 10th-18th, 2018.

"Duro Ladipo was one of the pioneers of theatre in Nigeria, long before Nollywood and he was the first Nigerian actor to win international award. As far back as 1964, a Nigerian theatre group led by Duro Ladipo beat other countries of the world to bring home a trophy for their act." He said.

Born December 18th, 1931, in Osogbo, Osun State. Ladipo's first born on earth, Yetunde Duro-Ladipo Falade in her statement, said the support being given to Duro Ladipo's family was in fulfillment of the CBICU commitment to the promotion of arts and culture as veritable vehicle of tourism promotion in the state and beyond.

42 years after his death, adept actor and playwright, Duro Ladipo has been remembered with cultural performance from sons & daughters and inter- schools' theatre competition staging of plays and dramas.

The wife of the late actor, (Chief) Mrs. Abiodun Duro Ladipo, in her famous name Moremi, was full of joy as she thanked the government and Prof. Siyan for their support in making the anniversary a rewarding outing in memory of her late husband.

Her message to the women folks on the need to be patient as wife and mother, as well as why ‘our rich culture must be preserved and promoted.' It was a day of celebration, fond memories and theatrical excellence.

Duro Ladipo, passed on in Ibadan, Oyo State capital on March 11, 1978 at 45-year-old. The audience, who filled Ulli Beier Hall, CBCIU, Osogbo, were on their feet applauding. It was a deserving Wednesday offering to theatre buffs who defied the chaotic traffic on Western Avenue to attend the afternoon performance.

Youths Digest Shortlists 30 finalists for Campus Journalism Awards 2020(Full List)


YOUTHS DIGEST – Youths Digest, the organisers of the
annual Campus Journalism Awards, (CJA), has shortlisted 30
Finalists for the 2020 edition of the awards.

A total of 266 entries were received from over 50 institutions.

The finalists were selected after a rigorous screening exercise
by a special committee for fifteen categories of the awards.

The award categories including, Upcoming Writer, Entertainment Writer, Sports Writer, Reporter, Gender Equality
Reporter, Broadcaster and Photo-journalist.
Others are: Pen Club, Author (Book), Social Media Influencer,
Investigative Journalist, Features Writer, Editor, Print Magazine, and the grand award of Campus Journalist of the
Year.

According to Alfred Olufemi, who headed the screening
committee, the entries were graded based on merit but said
some of those categories are were very competitive.
“The quality of the entries received shows that journalism in
the students’ space has gone beyond what we used to have in
the past. Students did excellent reporting, investigations and
insightful features.


“The eventual winners of the categories of the Campus Journalism Awards will be announced after a final screening by a panel judges at Bolton White Hotel, Area 11, Abuja on
Saturday 28th March 2020,” he added.

He also disclosed that Mr Sunday Dare, Honourable Minister
of Youth and Sports will be the keynote speaker at the event while the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu will be the Special Guest of
Honour and Comrade Auwal Musa Rafsanjani, Executive Director of CISLAC will be the Chief Host.


There would also be a presentation of a book titled a ‘Musings of Young Minds: A collection of articles by campus journalists,” edited by Gidado Yushau Shuaib, the Editor of the
Youths Digest.

The theme for the 2020 CJA is “Press Freedom: Catalyst for Good Governance”.

Also, at the event, the winner of the Campus Investigative challenge sponsored by CISLAC will also be announced.

The finalists will be provided with accommodation, feeding
and stipends for local transport.

SPEAKER of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila on Tuesday said the country is losing 400,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) amounting to about $20.4 billion annually to theft.

But the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation said there was no record of the quantity of oil lost daily to crude theft.

The NNPC alleged that oil theft was caused by criminality and historic neglect of the host communities.

The Speaker, who spoke at a public investigative hearing on oil theft, described the practice as the worst form of economic sabotage for which there can be no excuse.

Gbajabiamila said:
     “Oil theft and the attendant damage to oil and gas assets across the country destroys the environment, puts the lives of our citizens at risk and undercuts government revenue and compromises government’s ability to meet our nation’s developmental challenges.

“It is the worst kind of economic sabotage for which there is no viable defence or excuse. Those who engage in these acts of sabotage do so with the full awareness that their actions are inimical to the continued viability of the Nigerian state, yet they persist.

“Their persistence in this nefarious conduct must motivate the rest of us who bear the consequences of their actions to act in unison to identify those responsible and ensure that they are fully held accountable as allowed by law.

“However, beyond that, we have a responsibility to conduct a more holistic assessment to understand whatever underlying factors have caused this action to continue and the perpetrators to continue to benefit therefrom.

“It is estimated in some quarters that crude oil theft in Nigeria costs us about 400,000 barrels per day.

This is equal to a revenue loss of about $1.7 billion per month and $20.4 billion annually.’’

The Nigerian Navy said it has commenced online registration for the 2020 Recruitment Exercise.

According to a statement by the Director Naval Information, Commodore Suleman Dahun, the Recruitment Exercise will commence on 11 March 2020 and close on 21 April 2020.

“On submission, Applicants are to print out copies of the completed Application Forms together with Applicant’s Declaration and Certification by Parent/Guardian Form, local Government Area Certification form, Police Certification Form and Guarantor Form. Applicants are to come to the designated examination and recruitment centers with copies of their online completed Forms. Application is free of charge.

Requirements for the registration:
“Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in not more than two sittings in WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB (English and Mathematics inclusive), must be between the ages 18-22 Years or 18-26 Years for those with ND, NCE, Nurses and Motor Transport Department (MTD) respectively.

Applicants with qualifications higher than those specified in the Guidelines should not apply.

“Applicants must be single and of Nigerian by birth, must not be less than 1.69m tall for males and 1.65m for females. Applicants must read the detailed instructions at www.navy.mil.ng.

“The recruitment exercise will commence with screening of applicant’s credentials and an aptitude test at designated centres nationwide on a date to be announced later.

“Applicants are advised in their own interest not to submit multiple online applications. Any applicant with multiple submissions will be disqualified.

“Applicants are further advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them on the recruitment exercise.

Coronavirus Volunteers To receive £3,500 for testing of a vaccine that cures the ailment

In a speed way to curb the spreading of the deadly virus identified as Covid-19, formerly known as Coronavirus, WHO has issued a public notice that Volunteers will reportedly receive £3,500 to be purposefully infected with coronavirus in a bid to find a cure for the deadly virus.


To find a vaccine for the virus, volunteers in east London are being paid to be intentionally infected with coronavirus and live in quarantine at the Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Centre in Whitechapel.


According to reports, Willing participants will be injected with two common but much less serious strains of the virus, reports the Daily Star.


Hvivo, the company behind the laboratory at Queen Mary, will be infecting 24 volunteers at a time with the 0C43 and 229E strains of the virus.


It is thought these strains will cause mild respiratory symptoms and be much less severe than the coronavirus that is currently spreading around the globe.


It is thought a vaccine can be developed from this testing that would tackle the destructive virus.


Anyone who has volunteered to take part in this study will have to stay in quarantine for two weeks.


There will be some restrictions placed on the participants during this time, including no exercise or physical contact with other people. They will only be able to eat and drink certain foods.


Any nurses or doctors who work on this study will have to wear ventilators and protective clothes while they are working in the lab or with any material that may be infected with the virus, such as dirty tissues or blood tests.


The UK's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency will have to agree on Hvivo's plans before this experiment can take place.


This testing is part of a $2bn global effort to find a vaccine for coronavirus. Over 20 Covid-19 vaccines are currently being developed, according to the World Health Organisation.


Following the experiment, the most effective drugs and vaccines will be chosen, and these willl be used on patients who naturally contract coronavirus.

A member of the National Youths service corps who had just concluded her one-year mandatory national service on Thursday, 5th march, was involved in an auto accident along Abeokuta express way, VAM News reports.

The Corper identified as Ojogwa Precious Temitope, a graduate of the federal polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state from building Technology department, who had just left Passing Out Parade ground and was travelling home when she had an accident that almost claimed her life.

The Students of the federal polytechnic Ado-Ekiti and fellow Corps members confirmed the incident.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that she has sustained varying degrees of injury.

While speaking with VAM News, she needs more than N1m for her surgery to walk with her legs again.

Ondo varsity has been thrown into darkness as two students died within 24 hours, VAM News reports.

One student identified as Miss Temitope Patience AYEDUN, a 200 Level of the Department of Educational Management confirmed died and the death of Mr. Olakunle Matthew OLAYINKA, a 300-Level student of the Department of Biochemistry.

Meanwhile, the management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) in ondo state has announced an indefinite postponement of the school examinations earlier scheduled to start on Monday 9th March 2020, following the death of the students.

According to a statement signed by the acting registrar of the University, Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa on Saturday, one of the students died of injuries sustained from gunshot by unidentified gunmen, while the other died of an illness beyond the capacity of the University health facility.


The statement reads in part:

     “The University Management received, with rude shock, the loss of two of our students to death in the course of the week.”

“Miss Temitope Patience AYEDUN, a 200 Level of the Department of Educational Management, was admitted at the University Health Centre, the Medical Personnel tried their best to manage her until she was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo where she was intensively managed before she died on Thursday, 5th March, 2020.”

” Within 24hours, another news of the death recorded of Mr. Olakunle Matthew OLAYINKA, a 300-Level student of the Department of Biochemistry, following wounds from gunshot by unidentified gunmen, was received last night, Friday, 6th March, 2020, after the Medical personnel at the University Health Centre put up spirited efforts to stabilise him. The Security agents are still on the trail of the assailants for apprehension.”

“The University Management, under the leadership of the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga E. Ige, commiserates with the families of the deceased, the entire students and the University community on these sad events, and prays the Lord console the families and the entire University community. The University Management has beefed up security within and outside the campus to forestall recurrence.”

“Mourning the painful loss of these our students, the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga E. Ige, on behalf of the University Senate has, therefore, directed that the First Semester University-wide GST and ENT CBT examinations for 2019/2020 academic session earlier scheduled for Monday, 9th March, 2020 to Thursday, 12th March, 2020 be postponed till further notice.”

The University Management further commiserated with the families of the deceased, and urged students to remain calm as the University Management has beefed up security within and outside the campus to forestall recurrence.

Nigerians are reacting to a trending video showing a student of the Federal Girls College Akure destroying her phone and those of her schoolmates under the supervision of her teacher.


The students violated the rules of the school by bringing their phones to school and as punishment, one of them was asked to destroy all the phones during the school's morning assembly.


Some Nigerians on social media have stated that the students deserved the punishment since they flouted the rule of the school, while others believe the punishment is extreme.

The University of Abuja has handed over four students of the university to the National Examinations Council for prosecution for allegedly forging NECO certificates.

The four suspects reportedly used the NECO results to gain admission into the university but were discovered when the council embarked on screening to the university.

The screening by NECO was said to be ongoing in some higher institutions in the country.

The students were arrested by the police over certificate forgery in October 2019 and taken to NECO Headquarters , Minna , Niger State , for questioning.

According to NECO on Monday , the students are Effiong Etim , Solomon Victor , Abdulkabir Mohammad and Yakubu Adama.

An official of the university had also reportedly laid a complaint to the Police Zone 7 headquarters for investigation of the students.

Reporter gathered that the students would be arraigned by the police at a Federal Capital Territory Magistrate Court in Wuse 2 , Abuja.

The police prosecutor , Chijioke Chigozie , said about nine students of the university had so far been arrested for similar offence.

He , however, added that they were still under investigation.

A charge sheet sighted on Monday showed that the certificate forgery contravened Section 364 of the penal code.

It read, 

     “That you , Effiong Etim , with June 2017 NECO , Solomon Victor with June 2017 NECO , Abdulkabir Mohammad with June 2012 NECO and Yakubu Adama with June 2016 NECO ; that these certificates upon which you gained admission or sought admission into the University of Abuja are forged certificates . You are thereby suspected to have committed the above offence . ”

The Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikirullahi Akinropo, has dragged Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, to the Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo for alleged assault.

According to the writ of summons by Agbowu’s counsel, Soji Oyetayo, obtained by The Nation yesterday in Osogbo, Oba Akinropo demanded N100million as damages from Oluwo.

The plaintiff-monarch is also asking the court to award N1million against the defendant as the cost of securing legal service for the action.

The writ of summoning dated February 27, 2020 was supported with 39 paragraphs of claims.

Oba Akinropo alleged that Oluwo pounced on him at the office of the Assistant General of Police in Osogbo by punching him, which resulted in Oluwo inflicting injury on his cheeks.

He alleged that the wound resulted in him being admitted at the Osun State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo.

The monarch asked the court to prevent Oba Akanbi from intimidating, harassing or threatening to attack him, while he should be compelled to desist from any action that could cause a breach of peace anywhere in Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa local government areas of the state.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources , Timipre Sylva, says the Deputy Governor -elect whose certificate scandal cost the All Progressives Congress the Bayelsa State governorship seat, is on the verge of committing suicide.

Sylva said this on Channels Television’ s Sunrise Daily programme on Monday.

The governor -elect , David Lyon; and the deputy governor - elect , Senator Biobarakuma Degi- Eremienyo , were sacked by the Supreme Court on the eve of their inauguration while the Peoples Democratic Party took over the leadership of the state.

The minister described the Supreme Court’ s judgment as unfair, saying the matter was not a criminal one and should not have been treated in such a manner.

He said, “ I ’m dealing with a former deputy governor that is on the verge of committing suicide . Every day I had to call to find out that he hasn ’t done anything to himself.

“ If someone said you forged your certificate and you have built your life and integrity and someone all of a sudden brings everything down , that can lead to suicide.

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) recruitment exercise 2020 shortlisted candidates for screening is out.

VAM News gathered that for the position of 10,000 Personnel/officers needed and about two million five hundred (2.5 million) candidates registered.

Last year when I was in service, I wrote a column titled: 'NYSC Allowance And The Minimum Wage Stunt.' A click on search engine with this title would direct anyone who mind to read, Voice air media reports.

I wrote this piece to address many reasons why NYSC allowance should be increased without delay. On this column, I received calls from different State Coordinators and Local Government Inspectors. One of my friends serving in Ogun State, Omigbule Oyebola also called me that he shared on their NYSC platform and their Inspector asked him to bring the hard copy. 

Initially, I thought I was already in trouble because of the threat cum warning given to us not to write anything against or concerning the scheme. 

My mind was not at ease thinking about the panel I would face. I later embraced courage that what will be, will actually be in as much as am fighting for Nigerian graduates. I know if the new allowance is being implemented, it would not favour my batch but the next coming batches. Despite the fact that this write up was heavily plagiarized by people erasing my name and details,many across the country still sent me inbox messages.  

I made new friends and got more fans. Guess what, the State Coordinators that called me differently commended the work and promised to take it up. My mind was calm and pleased. This is wonderful, I exclaimed!

In the piece, I tried to evaluate and justify how 19,800 can never be sufficient for Corpers.. 

Below is the excerpt of the breakdown of 19,800 as penned in the column:
"Let’s even split the #19,800 into pieces now

By calculation, a Corper earns #660 per day


#660 daily * 30days = #19,800 monthly


Let’s assume one spends


#150 naira in the morning for breakfast


#150 naira in the afternoon for lunch


#150 naira for dinner


#150 * 3 daily = #450


#450 on three square meal daily multiply by 30days = #13,500



#19,800 Allawee - #13,500 total food consumption per month = #6,300 balance.



Out of this #6,300 that remains, one would pay for electricity bill monthly, one would pay for transport fare to CDS weekly or PPA probably three or four times in a week, one would have no choice than to recharge phone and buy data for subscription, friends and relatives would definitely be expecting one to give out something including girl friend or fiancee. All these expenses excluded clothes, and other petty things


Convince me on why people should not engage in yahoo yahoo out of this mess. I pay kudos to the EFCC for waging war against cyber crime but why are they careless to take note of some of the reasons behind the hiker level of cyber crime.


People resort to last choice when there is none. The insufficient #19,800 is among the reasons why guys find alternative to their standard of living. Monthly allowance isn’t sustainable and employment isn’t certain. Who on earth can endure poverty?"


On the concluding part, I said: 
     " Many business ideas died after NYSC because there are no more savings on ground having exhausted the #19,800 during the service year. If graduates earn at least, #30,000 per month, it is only a prodigal that would not have savings to set up a small scale business of whatsoever and give life to at least, one business idea"

"It is high time the NYSC scheme go back to the drawing board and sit the government down on the increment without any delay. NYSC Scheme is the best channel to reduce unemployment."

"The increment of allawee would not only reduce unemployment rate but at the same time encourage people to further with their education. 

If N-Power beneficiaries can earn #30,000 per month for two years, NYSC members can also earn #30,000 for that one year of service with dedication and selflessness. Allawee increment should be a must and priority."

The above was my conclusion in the column; thank God, it has been increased. For the fact that Buhari led administration is facing serious challenges in the area of security. He would definitely be remembered for the NYSC allowance. 


He deserves appreciation for effecting change in that aspect. It's only the prodigal ones that would earn 30,000 throughout the service year and still come back to tell the tales of unemployment in Nigeria. The wise ones would be business owners and self reliance.

Even when am not a beneficiary of the increased allowance, one of the ex corpers from Kogi State called me recently to write NYSC DG and solicit for arrears. I laughed it off and said, I will rather write to solicit for employment. 

This is Nigeria, Everything happens in style. Kudos to Baba Buhari, NYSC DG and others that channelled the increment.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has stated that there is nothing anyone can do if he decides to gives his son a position in his government.

Akeredolu who disclosed this while speaking at a dinner organised in commemoration of his third anniversary as governor of Ondo State, told those present to work hard towards ensuring he gets reelected.

Recounting how his son worked towards his election in 2016, the Ondo State Governor said;

“When somebody says Baba (Babajide) is this, I just laugh at them. If I wanted to make Baba my chief of staff, he can be; did you do more than him in the campaign? Ask yourself, how many of you did more than Baba in the campaign? How many?”

“The young boy was going everywhere and all of us saw him but we decided not to because he wouldn’t want it. My son is satisfied, that’s why. 

If he is not, I will put him somewhere, there is nothing anybody can do. I will put him there, there is nothing you can do. Is he not my son? 

Is he not from Ondo state? 

Has he not worked?”

Governor Akeredolu also praised his wife Betty, saying he couldn't have asked for a better First Lady.

He added;

“I can never forget the great work that my wife has done in this state, I am not sure you can find a better first lady, someone who has great interest in women, great interest in children, great interest in whatever is good,” he said.

“I say to people, when I look at my wife, I say, look your wife can follow you because of love but you can’t take the love of her place from her.

THE American boxer Deontay Wilder has officially confirmed his rematch with Tyson Fury a day after posting a Twitter video where he claimed 'no one can take his pride and that the war has just begun'.

The management of the scheme says necessary measures have been put in place to prevent the spread of the virus during the orientation programme.

The attention of the Management of the National Youth Service Corps has been drawn to a false and very misleading story circulating on the social media making allusion to the postponement of the 2020 Batch "A" Orientation programme, scheduled to commence nationwide on 10th March, 2020 arising from the Coronavirus scare.


Management of the Scheme wishes to assure Nigerians, especially the Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) that like it happened during the outbreak of Ebola virus, a hemorrhagic fever with devastating consequences, the Corps has been in liaison with the Federal Ministry of Health.

The Charity CDs and the members took their project to the next level by organizing a competition for the three sensitized schools which were Day Secondary School:

Topic: The Effects of Formal Education in our future as leaders of Tomorrow. 

Is Formal Education the key to a successful future?, Coal Camp Secondary school and

 "The Effect of Entrepreneurship and skill Acquisition in our Future as Leaders of tomorrow. )" 

Is Skill Acquisition or Entrepreneurship the key to a successful future? and Lastly, Metropolitan Girls Secondary school. Topic: 

The Effects of Suicide and Depression in our lives and Future as Leaders of Tomorrow?) 

The competition proved to be a tough and demanding one as competitors tenaciously and dogmatically engaged the judges and the Audience in a long talk with short playlets/Drama presentation. 

While Day Secondary school took the first position with a whooping 115 points, Metropolitan Girls took the 2nd position with 109 points, and lastly, Coal Camp took the third position with 65 points. 

However, incentives which came as scholarships were given to outstanding best speakers and best performers: two best speakers emerged from Day secondary school and were given a Year fully funded scholarship and two terms fully funded scholarship respectively. 

The best performer from Metropolitan Girls was given a term fully funded scholarship. 

Apart from the above mentioned scholarships, little prizes and gifts were given to all the competitors/Participants as a reward and reinforcement of their zeal and confidence towards preparation for the task assigned to them. 

In addition to the above, awards of meritorious service were given to dignitaries which included the Local Government Inspector, Mr. Bassey Ekpe, the Zonal Inspector, The Charity CDs Cordinator et Al. Courtesy from Charity CDs Group.

The Lower chamber of Nigeria's bicameral national assembly on Thursday, 27th February mandated its committee on Water Resources to unravel the reasons for the abandonment of Owena Multi-Purpose Dam Project in Ondo State.

The House also urged the Federal Ministry of Water Resources to complete the dam project to ensure adequate provision of water to the residents in the area.

The House Resolution followed a motion moved by Hon. Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye, representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State, VAM News reports.

The motion was titled:
“Urgent Need to Complete the Abandoned Owena Multipurpose Dam Project.”

Presenting the motion, Hon. Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye who is the Vice Chairman, House Committee on Army said “the Six (6) Local Government Areas of Akure South, Akure North, Idanre, Ifedore, Ondo East and Ondo West that make up Ondo Central Senatorial District of Ondo State are being unfairly denied access to potable water and other associated benefits due to the long abandonment of the Owena Multipurpose Dam Project which rehabilitation is however, ongoing.

“Recalls that the Federal Government, in partnership with Ondo State Government embarked on the wholesale rehabilitation of Owena Dam more than a decade ago through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and the Benin/Owena River Basin Development Authority.”

He said “the dam, which has one of the biggest reservoirs in the South West region of Nigeria, had since been converted to a multipurpose use in line with the functions of the River Basin Development Authorities.

“The Owena Multipurpose Dam located at Igbara-oke in Ifedore Local Government of Ondo State with a capacity for 60,000 cubic meters per day can provide potable water for almost 2,000,000 persons and industries in the six local government areas on a daily basis and aside the supply of potable water, the multipurpose dam is also designed to serve the purpose of hydropower generation, irrigation, fishing, recreation, tourism and ecosystem protection.”

According to him, “the construction of the dam and the water treatment plant are basically the responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Benin/Owena River Basin Development Authority while the responsibility of reticulation from the water treatment plant to the beneficial communities and towns making up the six local government areas is that of Ondo State Government.

“The dam rehabilitation project, which had attained 70% completion, has remained abandoned for more than a decade now, despite the enormous resources already committed to the project.

MERCY AIGBE

Mercy was born on the 1st of January, 1979 as a second child in a family of five at Edo State, Nigeria, Aigbe schooled at the Polytechnic, Ibadan where she had her OND in Financial Studies went on to the University of Lagos in 2001 for a degree in Theater Arts Yomi Otaigbe holds a HND,Upper Credit in Mass Communication from The Polytechnic, Ibadan and she is also a graduate of Broadcast Journalism from the New York Film Academy.


TOPE ALABI

She hails from Yewa, Imeko of Ogun State. She obtained her West Africa School Certificate (WAEC) at Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Bashorun Anlugbua, Ibadan in the year 1986. Thereafter, she proceeded to The Polythecnic , Ibadan where she studied Mass Communication and graduated in the year 1990. Tope Alabi pursued her educational attainment with all seriousness and dedication it deserves because her parents were disciplinarians of the highest order.


YOMI OTAIGBE ORIYOMI

Mary Otaigbe is a Broadcast Journalist and Senior Reporter/Presenter with the award- winning Channels Television.

Aside from the coverage of other topical subjects, Yomi has been passionate in reporting Health issues and Policies for over a decade on the domestic and international scenes including the coverage of the meeting of World Health Assembly, the decision-making body of the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Yomi has covered numerous public health challenges and was in the thick of things during the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria in 2014. She reported on preventive measures and activities from the Ebola Emergency Operation center located at the Central Public Health Laboratory Building in Yaba, Lagos, the First Consultant Medical Center, Obalende and other areas where News came from until Nigeria successfully contained the disease. Yomi Otaigbe holds a HND,Upper Credit in Mass Communication from The Polytechnic, Ibadan and she is also a graduate of Broadcast Journalism from the New York Film Academy.


BAMIDELE O. SAMSON (Chairman BOVAS Group)

Architect Bamidele O. Samson, is a co-founder of BOVAS Group. He studied in Nigeria and Europe and lectured briefly at the University of Ibadan and the Polytechnic, Ibadan, before joining Design Group, from where he retired to start the Bovasgroup. He is an eminent Rotarian, a Justice of Peace and an Architectural Consultant of repute. Prince Akanbi obtained a B.Sc. Business Administration from George Brown College, Toronto, Ontario (2005-2009), Ordinary National Diploma in Mass Communication from The Polytechnic Ibadan (1985-87), Certificate in Cybis & Axis System, Convergys Institute, Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada (2001-2005) and Seismic certificate in Operations, Oil and Gas Processing Facilities (2005).


Governor Aregbesola (Ex Governor, Osun State)

He had his primary and secondary education in Ondo State, and later attended The Polytechnic, Ibadan, where he studied Mechanical Engineering and graduated in 1980

The polytechnic Ibadan is regarded as the best polytechnic in Nigeria.

...NOUN students to hold Solidarity Walk Monday March 2nd

...Says NOUN 2018 ACTS MUST BE IMPLEMENTED

The National Open University of Nigeria Students within and beyond the shores of Nigeria have been urged to come out in their large numbers on Monday 2nd March 2020 to stage a protest rally in support of the implementation of the NOUN acts that has been signed into law since 2018 which allows NOUN graduate to participate in the NYSC 1 year scheme.

The protest code-named "Save our future Solidarity Walk" which is being organized by NOUN NYSC/LAW SCHOOL SAGA MOVEMENT (NNLSS); an umbrella body of all NOUN students agitating for the implementation of the NOUN acts that was signed into law since Dec 04 2018 but nothing has been done so far for the implementation. will take place in all the States capital in Nigeria.

The NNLSS is being led by NOUN students Leader, OYEWALE SEGUN OLATOMIDE popularly known as Segxy Aluta. (AGM).

According to a statement made available to Newsmen on monday Feb. 24 2020 by the Cordinator, the protest will hold simultaneously in all the 36 states respectively from 9am.

“All NOUN Students are urged to come out in their millions any where they are in Nigeria on Monday 2nd of March to show to the world that enough is enough, federal government and school management stop playing with our future. We must show to all the concern authorities that we are tired of been treated as third class citizens, No more discrimination of our students, Enough is enough.

“Well-meaning NOUN students leader and other students leader body of thought would be at designated venues to address the protest. We want to let the federal government know that we are tired of I don't care altitude towards our future, despite the fact that we gave them 7 days ultimatum to order the implementation of this acts but nothing has been done and no reaction towards our demand.

In a statement signed by OYEWALE SEGUN O aka SEGXY ALUTA, cordinator NOUN NYSC /LAW Struggle, The list of state co-ordinators, and the meeting point according to the statement, would be released on Thursday 27th Feb. 2020 after proper consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Nigerian popular singer, Yemi Alade has revealed that when she was in primary 6, her mum had to pay her school fees by selling her economy class ticket.


The singer added that those days are behind them now and today they fly business class.


She shared a photo she took with her mother in London and wrote:

London is more than just a city to my family, it marks a time in our lives (20 years ago) when mum had to sell her economy class ticket to pay my primary 6 school fees.

Today we fly business class! Next stop #amsterdam.

COMMITMENT
You need commitment as your seatbelt; For this your relationship to survive you better learn how to stay committed to it. There is no how you won't meet people better than your partner but commitment which is your seatbelt will help you stick to your partner no matter what offers other people give you. Remember you are the driver of your relationship you must learn how to use seatbelt which is same as staying committed to your relationship so it won't crash. You may not value what you have until when you lose it.


MONEY
Money is the fuel of Every Relationship infact most people will argue that love isn't about money, yes that's true, love is sweet but money makes it more sweeter. A car without a fuel cannot function same as relationship without money. Don't get me wrong, not until you buy him an iPhone or you foot all her bills. Sometimes if you have you can buy recharge card, Mini gifts, buy something nice on your partner birthday. Some women doesn't care about your money but the fact still remains that they want you to spend on them. It is not necessary you buy a full tank fuel. Don't do more than your capability in a relationship.


TRUST
Trust is the Engine of every successful relationship. A car without engine can't function even if it has fuel. What am saying here is that even if you have money and still don't have trust In your partner, such relationship is prone to collapse. If trust had died in your relationship that may just be the beginning of your relationship downfall. Get a good engine for your relationship and what is this engine?
TRUST!.

COMMUNICATION
Love dies when there's no communication hence there's is a need for frequent communication in your relationship. Call your partner and check on them, spend quality time with each other, talk to lengths.

HONESTY
Honesty and your Career are your particulars. If your car papers is complete you won't be disturbed by road safety and you won't bothered bribing anyone just to pass by. This means you shouldn't be stupid because of love, make sure you are honest with yourself and also with your partner. Let your A be A and Build your career together. This category explain further that Relationship isn't just about sex you can get your particulars first. The particulars is your bride price, your pride, your career, education etc. Imagine getting pregnant out of wedlock, people will still query you and you may blame your self so to avoid story that touches don't drop your career for love you can just build both if you are honest with yourself.

LOVE
Love is the tyres of relationship, without love your relationship can't survive even if you have money, trust and have PHD certificate, your certificate and money can't get you love. Love is like grass, it grows by watering it with communication. If you want to build and grow love in your relationship you had better communicate with your partner frequently. A car without tyres cant travel so as a relationship without love can't move forward.

CARING
MAKE CARING YOUR SIDE MIRROR. Caring for your partner in your relationship is a prove you value your relationship. Side mirrors in a car shows vehicles coming from behind and beneath same as care in relationship; how do you know s/he is okay when you don't call?
How do you show you love them when you don't care?
How do you know what he/she is passing through when you don't ask?
A car without side mirror is incomplete same as relationship without care... before you know boom another person who cares already snatches him or her from you because of your carelessness.

MAKE GOD YOUR FIRE EXTINGUISHER
Every car is expected to have a fire extinguisher should in case of any accident same as putting God first in your relationship because God himself is love and he who doesn't know God can't understand what true love means. There is no relationship or marriage without challenges but with God and your faith you will strive through.
Not everyone is pleased with your happy relationship/marriage. So how will you quench that challenges that want to collapse your relationship you need to make God your fire extinguisher and have faith.
Faith gives hope while hope gives patience which are the major tools needed for your relationship to survive.

In a nutshell, Building A relationship and marriage is just like Planting crops, it won't germinate the day you plant it. There's no perfect man on earth and no one is an icon of knowledge. There are millions of beautiful women and handsome men all over the world you will always meet them just pick one and build your career together. (May God help you)
