just make sure it isn't a hyundai ![]() |
what are you getting hot-angel? |
I don't think I would want to test riding a motorbike in nigeria, you only have to look at most car's (dented etc) and then think what would happen to you on a motorbike. |
seun thought just plain hunter would be easier to type ![]() |
Stuart doesn't actually mean anything, it's just a name I started using the name Hidden_Hunter (as a nick) on the net about 7-8~ years ago ~(: |
What does your car look like, people who have one? Here's a shot of mine: https://www.syncerror.com/simages/car.jpg |
and my real name is stuart |
well if you do decide to go with chat, I suggest IRC because of it's low bandwdith overhead, I wrote a guide on my site for connecting to an IRC network with mIRC, to show how simple it is ![]() Also this wouldn't cost seun a cent so that's gotta be good in his eye's ![]() http://www.syncerror.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=15 |
all without blowing my own trumpet so to speak ![]() |
There is no secret Seun, Just thought straight and used google image search. Microsoft posts it's own logo's on it's site for promotion stuff as well so it might be worth looking around ![]() |
hate to disapoint you then nike4luv ![]() |
Everyone can go bad at something at school, Though I have never actually failed anything due to it being bad, rather than to not doing it in the first place (stupid school make me do art) Which is different I suppose, so I think the word fail is still acceptable there. As for just going badly in class, to fail in VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) you have to get less than 25% in English (SAC (mini exam's) and the final exam (50%)) So unless your really stupid we don't here the word too often ![]() |
It's a tech website so people into all manners of tech I guess The icons are just general ones i've found from around the net in my travels ![]() Mostly corporate logos, etc. |
obong, your views on aboriginals are clearly malinformed, aboriginals receive far more money from the government than any white person. (free housing (not small cheap housing but large 4 bedroom houses, pools etc) more money and free education) Stolen generation is a load of garbage as well, I'm not denying it happened but it hapened to white families too. If people were unfit to look after children they were placed with people that were. Vastly blown out of proportion by the opposition for propergander value. |
it wasn't originally a thread, but it is now ![]() just what people think of the theme, use of icons etc. |
obong, I find that quite racist saying it would be a good improvement if it was black controlled, it makes no difference what so ever! |
ADSL would be a pointless technology in nigeria, it requires stable telephone lines, which aren't too common. |
I still use windows on desktop machines however usually *nix is installed on servers I configure (unless of course I need to be running an applications server ) |
ah, security debates about windows vs linux is there nothing better ![]() Personally I am of the beleif that if a hacker really wanted to stuff with your stuff it wouldn't matter what o/s you were running they could do it! |
wimax hasn't been launched even in the states so you could be waiting a while, best bet is to check with some of the launch customers like intel. Companies like ericsson that build DSLAMS might be going into the wireless platform so that may be worth checking out. |
problem is niggy there are many way's to hide programs from showing up in msconfig (they're are even a few good reasons why you would want to do this as well) |
I don't think kazey meant that fibre should go straight to the home, in fact this is really an impossible goal for nigeria because of the lack of planning (and being honest there are far more important things to be spending money on) but what I think he is meaning is using it for backbone and then last mile technologies like ADSL, wimax etc which are dependent on fibre links. Look at Australia, a country of vast space and it is completly fibred (the smallest town I know about that has an ADSL enabled exchange is 100 people) as far as I know technologies like VSAT are in very small deployment, all made possible by planning! Another possibility is deployment of 3G for broadband, which sites could be protected against vandalism |
also try running your anti-virus in safemode, because alot of process's don't start in safe mode ![]() |
Thats still kinda a niche market though joftech, the computing section isn't jam packed yet with stuff on linux/open source. |
cost of bandwidth, reliability, connections to the outside, most sat net customers peer into europe or the US anyway. ps, I found out apache was doing something really dodgy on my website (randomly spawning it's self -- so it had launched 500 odd times, needless to say it's all fixed up and speed isn't a problem anymore ) |
Also it's worth noting nigeria isn't the best place to have your data centre located ![]() |
poor power conditions will burn destroy the bulb and make those error's happen, if you buy new ones make sure they are surge protected! |
The grass is always greener on the other hill! |
I like konquer out of linux though as well, it ranks fairly highly in my book ![]() |
Imnakoya thats to do with the fact the server also host an IRC daemon on it, the space is provided to me for free so I can't complain. It appears to be working all fine atm. UPDATE: Hmm there is some major outage problems with sprint at the moment. It would seem (at least for us (the problem is caused by a dead router in the states) that could have affected it. |
Thunderbird makes a great email client though ![]() Opera just never really grabbed me, besides it's not free (well legally ) |
